Daisy is the prettiest and sweetest girl. She was all cozy in the cubby of the cat tree when I went to join her this afternoon. She wasn't too fond of the idea of getting up quite yet so I gave her some chin scratches. I went and found some treats in the cupboard and tried to convince her to come out and say hi. She still wasn't interested, so I tried to give her a treat in the cubby. She gave it a sniff and turn her nose away. She can be such a princess sometimes. Daisy finally, on her own terms, felt like getting up for a stretch. She walked over to me rubbing her head against my leg asking for some extra pets. Once she was satisfied she hopped up into the window to do some window watching. It was soon her turn to go back to her suite for a rest to let the other cats have a turn out.

Allie was super excited to get out of her kennel. She was waiting impatiently when she saw me take the treats out for Daisy, meowing at me to let her out. Once I put Daisy away I opened up Allie and Strider's doors. Strider hopped down onto the floor and Allie followed suit. I threw treats across the room for them in opposite directions. This was a great game for both of them, chasing after the little treats and catching them to munch on. Allie noticed the cupboard door was open and couldn't resist going to check it out, but Strider was in her way. She stopped to say hello to him and gave him a good sniff. Allie soon lost interest in Strider and scaled the cat tree right to the top. She rolled around admiring the view from above, sprawled out ready to take a nap for the afternoon.

Tsavo was very happy to partake in an all husky group again. She seems to be doing very well with her northern relatives. Tsavo was pleased to be reunited with the young pup Vega. The pair made quick friends by pouncing back and forth. It didn’t take long for Vega to begin leaping all over Tsavo, which she seemed to think was fun. Tsavo was did some good parenting by letting Vega know not to jump on her. This only led Vega to zoom in circles around Tsavo. Tsavo was so great, chasing after Vega with a smile on her face. After a couple laps Tsavo decided she had enough of babysitting. She moved on to sniffing and exploring with her calmer group mates. Investigating the yard only led her to come across Nyxx and Kimi, whom she thought were very fun. Tsavo played around with these huskies for a bit of time until it was time to head back indoors.

Kimi was full of beans today. I think being accompanied by young, frisky huskies made her this way. It took no time at all for the handsome Nyxx to come across Kimi and instantly begin flirting. Kimi wasn’t going to deny his affection, allowing him to dance around her with his tail wagging. He began to pounce all over her which she politely tolerated. After some rough housing on his part, Kimi turned on him leading to a boxing match. The pair had a lot of fun batting around at one another. Vega wasn’t far behind once these two got going and next thing I knew, Kimi was trying to discipline Nyxx and Vega. Soon enough Nyxx and Vega had Kimi wrapped around their fingers, making her chase them all around. Kimi was very fast on her feet keeping up to the youngsters very well. After numerous laps around the yard Kimi took a break with Kyah in the play structure where they rested, supervising their crazy play mates.

Maya is always a sweet girl to have around. I don’t think she was too pleased about this damp weather, but after some convincing she head out into the grassy yard. Maya was very entertained by her fellow rescue friends running around the yard. She slowly trotted along side them keeping a close eye on their every move. After a couple laps along side her group mates, Maya broke off from the action to sniff and explore the yard. She was happy to come across Nicki who was more than pleased to offer her loads of pets and cuddles. After receiving plenty of attention Maya was happy to head back indoors to meet up with her brother and get cozy for an afternoon nap.

Max and Sadie were very intrigued by all the scents in the yard that have unfolded from the thawing and melting of all the snow. This occupied them for most their outdoor time. Sadie found herself digging holes all over the yard to find more and more scents deeper down. Max was much more focused on the perimeter of the yard, keeping his nose close to the ground as he investigated. After loads of sniffing and exploring Max was sure to charge his sister to get some games going. Sadie tried to escape him by pouncing on the picnic table, but didn’t have much luck as he followed her on top. They then started their usual wrestling antics, mouthing at one another while rolling all around. This kept them busy until it was finally time to head indoors where they napped until their next outing.

The melting and thawing of all the snow and ice had Finn very occupied during groups today. Despite the company of numerous lovely young playful pups, Finn was much too busy digging holes and burying his muzzle deep in mud. He kept at this for ages, until his good pal Jemma practically begged him to play. Finn wasn’t going to turn down a good romp around with pretty girl Jemma. The duo picked up right where they left off on Tuesday, which was rolling around while mouthing at one another. Finn was very happy to then race around with Jemma and new friend Zoe. These three are a great match for one another. They had lots of fun racing around the yard with big smiles on their faces. Finn was later distracted by the big red Jolly Ball. He and I batted the ball around playing soccer for a while until he snatched the ball up and ran away from me. He then entertained himself by pawing it back and forth along the grass until it was time to head indoors.

Zoe couldn’t have arrived on a better day. The group that she is in is fabulous. Zoe was so pleased to meet Pippin, a young golden retriever who is so happy and outgoing. Pippin happily introduced her to the group and the pair began dancing around. Soon enough Jemma was in on the action which made Zoe the happiest girl around. Zoe and Jemma are a match made in heaven, the two are so happy all the time. Jemma loved being her twice in one week, I could tell from the moment she arrived that today was going to be a great day for her. The moment she and Zoe met up, the games began and never ended. Zoe is such a funny girl when it comes to playing. She acts as though she isn’t interested, until suddenly, she is running full speed around the yard with her tongue hanging out looking for a chase. Jemma was more than happy to give in and race after her. After a couple laps Zoe leaped away from Jemma by standing on the picnic table. This became a good game for Jemma and Zoe, as Jemma didn’t have the confidence to hop up too. Finn showed Jemma how it was done by leaping up with Zoe and dancing around on top of the table. This only lead Zoe to fly off and start another chase. This time, both Jemma and Finn were on her tail. Jemma and Zoe broke off from the trio and began wrestling around just the two of them. They were rolling all around and then leaping on top of one another until Zoe strategically weaved out from underneath Jemma and hopped up on a rock this time. Zoe began pawing at Jemma’s head while Jemma danced around beneath her. These two kept at these silly games until it was time to head indoors. I had to entice them to come in by offering them cookies. Once they returned to their kennels they were thrilled to get a treat and lay down for a rest. Zoe is such a sweet girl. She joined me in the reception area for some one-on-one time this afternoon. She sniffed around for a minute before I took down the toy bin. I showed her lots of different toys, each of which she sniffed politely. She sat down with me amongst all the toys and I gave her some pets. She then got up to sniff around some more. I got out a Kong and put some liver treats inside for Zoe to find. She liked this game a lot, and spent a little while rolling the Kong around on the floor and finding her special snacks. When she finished, I gave Zoe one more cookie and she settled down on the floor to snack on it. She then went to see Merlin and Resa to say hello, and noticed a bone under the chair. She stretched out as far as she could and started to chew on the bone with her legs sticking out from underneath!

Teddy was full of energy today and could barely wait to run around with his friends. He waited very patiently for his walk and behaved so nicely on leash. He held in all his energy until he was off leash in the yard, thank goodness, because he was full of beans! Teddy loved his high energy, young group. They all kept him very busy with his herding skills. Teddy loved racing around after Pippin who could barely stay still for one second. She was thrilled to have someone hot on her heels as she raced around the yard, and Teddy couldn’t be happier to oversee running after her. The duo lapped around the yard over and over, making me very dizzy trying to get photos. Teddy was soon staring at me with his famous tongue out the side of his mouth expression. It didn’t take long for him to find other dogs to race around with. He was very fond of Jemma and Zoe who were pouncing around together for ages. Teddy loved zipping around with them as well as getting in on their wrestling and boxing. He did a great job of telling the girls not to get too rough. Teddy finished off his outdoor time by racing around with Finnigan after the Jolly Ball. He was ready to get back in his kennel and nap, to recharge his batteries for his next outing.

Issy was rather frisky today compared to her normal self. She seemed very surprised when she heads outdoors and found herself in the middle of young playful dogs bouncing around. She play bowed to no one and then stood up and walked away, as if she were shocked at herself for asking to play. She then put her nose to the ground and ran off to investigate. Not long after, a lovely golden retriever Pippin ran up to Issy and asked her to play. Issy wasn’t apposed to the idea, and frolicked around with her. The duo pranced around the yard side by side for a little bit until Issy had enough. She then made her way to Mocha who was sitting by the door supervising the games in the yard. Earlier on, Mocha had met up with Zoe and Muggins who were very insistent on playing with her. Mocha wanted none of it, but the two young girls were rather insistent. They followed Mocha to all her famous hiding spots until finally Mocha escaped the little rascals by weaving in between my legs.

It was a chilly and wet morning but that didn’t stop our four legged guests from having a good time! In fact everyone was feeling quite frisky with all of these weather changes, it felt more like spring fever than anything else. I was first joined by Charlie and his pals and to no surprise it was a morning full of fetch! Charlie immediately scouted out all of the toys in the yard until he found his favorite red ball. A few rounds of fetch later, Charlie was distracted by a small dirt hole in the ground. I’m not sure what was in that hole but Charlie thought it was something special and dug away to his little hearts content. I couldn’t even entice him away with the ball and that’s saying something! All that digging gave Justice the zoomies and he zoomed past Charlie as he happily dug away. Gunnar, Max P and Spencer couldn’t be bothered with balls or digging holes; they were too busy wrestling amongst themselves. Spencer is such a jolly boy and always gives off good vibes and today Max P and Gunnar just couldn’t resist those feel good vibes. Speaking of fun-loving pups, I don’t think there is ever a moment where Gunnar isn’t smiling from ear to ear; we call him the smiling boy! When he wasn’t wrestling with the other two, he was giving me his signature play bows to entice me to chase him! Max, much like Spencer himself is such a gentle giant and is always in his element when outside with his friends. He is such a social boy like a true Labrador at heart and finds happiness in the simplest things.

Max P. was so excited we I went and grabbed him for his extra attention time. We made our way up to the front playroom. Max set out to see what all was going on in the room. I left him to go and grab some of his treats. When I got back and Max realized that I had food he started to bounce around my legs. I stuck the treats in a toy and gave it to Max. It took him no time at all to start batting it around and getting the treats out. Once all the food was gone Max decided to make his way over to the chair. He hopped right up and got him self comfortable. Max then turned to me and demanded some pets and attention. It quickly turned into him trying to climb into my lap while licking me to death. Once he had settled down Max was content to sit in the chair and hold hands while I gave him lots of pets.

Vasco was thrilled to stretch his long legs on his morning trail walk first thing upon rising. Shortly after it was time for some outdoor play and extra attention time; a busy morning indeed! Vasco was excited to see some familiar faces back outside and immediately ran up to fellow lab Marley for a few nose nuzzles. Marley took this as an invitation to play and soon enough the two of them were wrestling and rolling around in the damp grass. Vasco even made time this morning to come over and say hello to me, I took a seat down on the rock and Vasco stuck his paw up on my lap as a gesture to say it was ok to start the head rubs. He has been getting used to all of this extra attention time and loves the cuddles from our staff! Cai, the big fluffy boy was very interested in all of the new smells out in the yard today and spent most of his time with his nose to the ground sniffing away. However it wasn’t long before new Husky friends Skie and Jynxx enticed him to play. Jynxx was especially enthralled with Cai and couldn’t help herself from climbing up onto his back and pawing at his face for attention. Well Cai himself really loved all the attention he was getting from these pretty ladies and joined them in a dance around the yard.

The next group was a big one and full of sibling duo’s that was ready to play! Dragon and Gryphon had just come from their extra attention time with me up front in the indoor playroom where they played with all the toys that they could ever imagine. They both picked their favorite chew toy and found a comfy spot on the ground to chew away together. Their playful energy continued with some of their pals outside later that morning. Gryphon carried that clever grin of his across his face the whole morning and always seemed to be up to something. Every time I would call him over, his head would playfully tuck down and his bum would vibrate in excitement. Dragon the big boy was too busy exploring the yards and saying hello to his friends to bother paying much attention to me. In fact most of the pups like Teddy and Kizmet were very interested in exploring today since the melted snow brought about new scents. Kizmet the playful guy still couldn’t resist a good wrestle with Gryphon and that meant Teddy was close by acting as referee! George and Titan were another happy sibling duo who had just come from their extra attention time as well. We sure do love to spoil our guests, especially when there are two which means that many more kisses and hugs to go around! George went out on a short walk to stretch his little legs and he is always so excited when his feet hits the ground. Just like his brother, Titan is a curious boy and loves to make his usual laps around the yard. I love when Titan looks up at you with those big beautiful eyes, always full of so much wisdom and curiosity. Well I think all of these sibling pairs were thankful to have each other this afternoon; they could all be found curled up together inside in their warm beds.

George and Titan were waiting nicely for me to grab them from their kennel. They went running up to the front playroom and immediately started to check everything out, curious about what all might have changed. I left them for a moment to go grab some treats. As soon as I got back and they realized I had food George started doing his circles and Titan sat and waited patiently for me to give him some. Since they had loved getting the treats out of the toys a couple days ago I stuffed the kongs with even more treats and gave them each one. George and Titan spent quite some time batting the toys around and getting all treats out. George was a little more determined in getting all the treats out of the toys. When all the treats where got it was for some pets and attention, George came over first to give me some kisses and get some pets. Not wanting to miss out Titan came running over to get some of his own.
