Saturday December 10th, 2016

Boston went trotting out to the agility yard and immediately went to see who all was in the group. He took an immediate liking to Dragon. After spending some time with Dragon, Boston went running off to see what Cabot and Tupper were up to. He was quite intrigued by their ball crazy ways. Boston in particular took a liking to Tupper; I'm not sure if it's because he didn't have the ball right at that moment or because he was barking at Cabot, which was intriguing to Boston. Either way Boston likes Tupper and tried to get him to ignore his brother for a bit to play with him. They bounced around for a little while, then Tupper turned back to Cabot and so Boston headed off to do some exploring around the yard. He made his way over the lounge where Dragon and Fez were checking things out. Boston touched noses with Dragon before he started looking at things. After a little while he was drawn back to Tupper and Cabot's antics. Boston spent some time watching them before he made his way over to where Rex, Tianbao, and Fez were having fun. Eventually deciding not to join in the fun Boston went to go trotting off when he came face to face with Tupper. Soon they were bouncing around having fun. Afterwards Boston decided it was time for a break. He left Tupper and made his way over to where Fez and I were hanging out. Boston was happy to spend some time with us and get some pets. Dragon, never one to miss out on attention, soon made his way over to monopolize my pets. Boston didn't seem to mind and was happy to see his friend. He left Dragon with me and went to go and hang out with Fez and watch what the other dogs were up to. When Dragon moved on, Boston decided it was the perfect time for some bum rubs. He had me to himself for a little while and then Dragon came barreling in. I then happily split my attention between the two boys.
For his extra attention time Boston and I made our way up to the front room. He set out to tour the room and see all there was to see. Boston stopped by me briefly so I could give him a bum scratch, but then he was off once more checking everything out. I headed to the toy bin to see if he was interested in any. Boston wasn't, but he let me put a snake on him. I then headed for the treat jar, which definitely caught his interest. We did some sits, downs, and paws. When we ran out of treats Boston decided it was time for some more bum rubs. Next I figured he might enjoy a little romp in the snow. I grabbed a leash and we headed out. Boston was pretty happy to get outside, it was such a beautiful day. He wandered everywhere checking out anything that caught his attention. Towards the end of our way he was happy to sample some snow. Back inside, Boston was happy to get some more pets and bum rubs, before he hopped up into the chair and got comfy.

Fez and Rex immediately set out to say hi to the rest of the group. It wasn't long before Rex met up with Tianbao. They spent some time checking each other over before deciding that they quite liked each other and wanted to play. Soon Rex and Tianbao were having a great time wrestling. Fez was happy to continue to socialize while his brother was playing. Once he'd seen everyone Fez set out to tour the yard and see what all he might find. Along the way he met up with Rex and Tianbao. Fez then decided that he was done exploring and would rather like to tag along with the other two. At this point Rex and Tianbao were taking a bit of a break from wrestling and were doing some exploring of their own. Rex meandered his way over to where Dragon and Gryphon were checking things out over by the lounge. Not too long after Fez made his way over as well. Feeling re-energized Rex went running back to Tianbao and the antics started once more. Fez left Dragon and Gryphon and went to continue on around the yard checking things out. When he ended up back by Rex and Tianbao, Fez decided that it was a good time to join the fun. The three of them did have fun together. Both Rex and Tianbao were very careful not to be too rough with Fez. Eventually their antics drew the attention of Boston, who made his way over to see what was going on. He didn't stay overly long and Rex, Fez, and Tianbao continued on having fun together. Needing a break Fez came over to join me to watch his brother's antics. When he was feeling up to it once more, Fez headed back to join Rex and Tianbao. A little while later their little group ended up meeting up with Boston, Cabot, Tupper, and Gryphon. Rex and Tianbao only really had eyes for each other and barely noticed while some of the others checked them over. Fez ended up over with Boston. Gryphon managed to steal Rex's attention and get him to chase him. Fez went to tag along, but quickly decided to come back for some more pets.

Dragon and Gryphon were so excited to get outside for group time. Gryphon's nose soon hit the ground and he was off checking something out in the snow. Dragon went trotting off around the yard checking everything out. When they both finished exploring they decided it was time to socialize for a bit. Gryphon didn't last very long and was soon back to checking things out while Dragon spent some time with Boston, before moving on to Tianbao. Dragon then spotted Gryphon over by the lounge, thoroughly checking out stuff in the snow. Curious, he decided to run over and join his brother. Dragon and Gryphon spent some time going over everything, and eventually they were joined by Rex, then Fez, and then Boston. While Dragon hadn't really acknowledged the other two, he made sure to touch noses with Boston. Gryphon finished up with that section of the yard first and headed out to see more of the yard.  Dragon soon did the same thing. Even though they headed in completely different directions, eventually Dragon and Gryphon met up over by the far fence and were intensely focused on the rocks and grass under the snow. Dragon left first this time and went to see what the rest of the group was up to. Gryphon, not wanting to miss out on anything, went running over to check it out for himself. It didn't take long for him to decide that he wanted to play with Rex. Gryphon then did all in his power to steal Rex's attention away from Tianbao. It took a little while, but soon Gryphon was having a blast running and playing with Rex, while Tianbao tagged along. Dragon left them to their fun and set off to see if he'd missed anything. When nothing really called out to him Dragon made his way over to me for some pets and attention. He stopped to say hi to Boston and see how he was doing, before finally making it to me. Dragon then left me to go and see what another dog was looking at, but as soon as he noticed that Boston had come over for some pets, he came and joined in for some pets of his own.

Buddy is such a cutie! He was quite popular in the yard today and everybody wanted to see him. He made his way over to the gate where Buddy sniffed around for a bit and observed the field on the other side of the fence. Then Ziggy bounced over and they happily said hello to each other. While they were checking each other out, Buddy caught Simon’s attention and he scuttled over to say hi, too. The three of them wandered around together until Simon and Ziggy suddenly went bounding off. Buddy was happy to explore in solitude as it meant peace and quiet for him! It wasn’t long however before Buddy headed over to see me. He enjoyed a nice scratch behind the ears, and then we both walked back to the other yard to see what the rest of the dogs were up to. Max had discovered a ball and was parading it around to show everyone. Buddy took some interest in that and followed after Max for a bit. He bumped into Tomi, who seemed to think that Buddy was trying to play with her, and started bouncing around. Buddy just gave Tomi a confused look, a sniff and then continued on his way. He sat down beside me for some more attention and to watch Max, Tomi and Ziggy when they started running around.
For his extra attention today, Buddy and I headed out to the lounge. He bounded through the snow all the way there and could hardly wait for me to open the door. Once we were inside, I took his leash off and Buddy started dashing around the room to explore the new space. He wasn’t very interested in the toys but instead wanted to wander around the room. Buddy poked his head in every crevice he could find, and eventually hopped up onto the couch. He curled up beside me and enjoyed some cuddles. Then I had Buddy show off some of his tricks and he happily sat down and gave me a paw, before posing handsomely for the camera.

Tennya was looking super stylish in her coat today! She was well equipped for the weather and happy to be outside with her group. The huskies in the group immediately started running around, while Tennya decided she would rather start things off a little slower. She trotted over to the far yard and set to work exploring. Tennya uncovered a red ball in the snow and pushed it around a bit, before becoming distracted by Koda and Ariel racing past her. She hopped out of the way and sat down to observe the chase from a safe distance. Tennya must have thought those huskies were crazy! She wandered over to see what I was up to and happily snuggled against my legs for a cuddle. Next, the two of us headed over to the door where Nick and Sophie were hanging out. Tennya said hello to Sophie, and then she gave Nick a good sniff before setting off to explore the yard again. This time Tennya discovered the tunnel and poked her head in the entrance. She must have bumped it as she was doing so because some snow slid off and landed right on Tennya’s head! Tennya jumped back and quickly scampered off with a big shake. Eventually Tennya ended up at my feet again, searching for more attention. We cuddled until everybody was ready to head back inside, and Tennya bounced into her kennel for a nap before afternoon groups.

Rupert enjoyed a nice walk in the forest this morning and was more than ready to get back outside for group time. I showed him a few toys and Rupert seemed to be interested in them until I tossed them, and then he would just wait expectantly as if I would fetch them for him. Silly boy! Eventually his friend Jynxx snatched up the ball, so Rupert and I headed to the other yard to see what the rest of the dogs were doing. Rupert seemed happy to sniff around and set to work exploring the yard. He wandered around in the snow for a bit and then Rupert noticed that I was giving cuddles to Teddy. Not to be left out, he quickly trotted over and waited patiently for his turn. Right behind the ears seemed to be his favourite spot. He just leaned against me and closed his eyes while I pet him. Rupert certainly looked quite content! After he was satisfied with the attention, I decided to try the toys again. This time, as I was kicking a ball around with Jynxx, he bounced after us as if he wanted to play as well. I nudged the ball in his direction and Rupert scooped it up in his mouth, carrying it right back to me. We played a light game of fetch and Rupert happily retrieved the ball every time. After a while, he decided it was time for a break and went to see what Teddy was up to. The two of them wandered around and enjoyed each other’s company for the last couple of minutes before we headed back inside.
