Finnigan is always thrilled to be here on Mondays. After a long weekend away from his buddies he is always pleased to arrive and get the games under way. He couldn’t have been happier to partake in a group which included his great friend Glory. Finn didn’t go long without greeting her and pouncing all over her. Glory is always happy to have her buddy Finn’s attention. He instantly began tugging on her extra skin and ears, which she didn’t mind at all. Glory is very easy going and happily accepts any attention, even if it involves yanking on her baggy skin. After some slow motion romping around, Glory swung her arm around Finn, pinning him to the ground. Finn had no complaints and quickly began flailing around. The pair then wrestled around in the snow with their mouths wide open looking like pre-historic animals fighting. They continued this until group mates Justice and Tanner flew by them chasing one another. Finn quickly hopped up and zoomed after the with Glory on his tail. These four quickly became great friends sprinting around as fast as possible. Finnigan loved being involved in the fast race and tried his hardest to get in front, however it is very hard to catch up to the agile Justice. After loads of laps around the yard Finn broke off with Glory yet again for some more one on one playing.

Tanner had so much fun today! He started off a bit quieter, hanging out by my side looking for love attention. It really didn’t take him long at all to catch on to the games that were going on and he quickly became the centre of attention. Tanner loved Justice, and he wasn’t afraid to ask him to play over and over until he gave in. Tanner is famous for his adorable play bow, laying his whole chest down on the ground with his bum sky high. Justice was happy to give in to Tanner after numerous requests, and the pair quickly took off for a fast-paced chase. Justice bolted through the tunnel looking for Tanner to follow however Tanner was much wittier than silly Justice and looped around the tunnel, beating him to the exit. They carried on with their sprinting, and soon had other playmates Finn and Glory joining in too. These four were so fast on their feet zipping and zooming around the yard. Tanner broke off briefly for some one on one time with Glory. These two were very silly but quickly met up with Justice after their romping around. Tanner then made his way back to me for some more cuddles and attention, which he requested by leaping on to me. He kept very busy for the remainder of group time running around with his friends until it was time to come back indoors.

It is lovely having Keegan and Dugan stay with us over the holidays. These boys are always very fun to hang around. We enjoyed a walk out front this morning as it was too cold for the boys to enjoy a long walk along our back trail. They were very appreciative of the shorter walk, holding their paws up after only a couple minutes. The boys happily enjoyed some time with us in the reception area after their walk rather than heading right back to their kennel. There is so much to sniff and explore up front. When group time rolled around Dugan was quick out the door. He zoomed around looking for a friend to play with an was very happy with Resa tagged along. This duo was so fast on their feet, sprinting around the yard with their ears flapping behind them. They did endless laps around the yard until it was time to head into the indoor playroom where it was much warmer. Keegan was happy to get indoors as he thought the outdoors were too chilly to play. When both the boys came inside they were quick to leap on the furniture and begin investigating their surroundings. Dugan loved the chair while Keegan was happier on the couch with group mate Jax. Finally, Keegan settled down in a comfy spot on the floor in the sun while Dugan ran around with his friends in the play room.

It was so nice to come in after my weekend off and see Kouza’s lovely face. It’s been a while since I’ve seen this sweet girl and was very happy to be reunited. Kouza was very appreciative when I went into her kennel first thing this morning and gave her some love and attention. After this she was much more focused on getting her food than me. Kouza is always pleased to receive her dish of food an quickly devour it. Later on we had a nice time in the yard. Kouza was quick to stick her nose in the snow and begin investigating the yard. She motored around the smaller portion of the yard with her face deep in the powder picking up on all the scents beneath the layers of cold snow. We only spent a small amount of time outdoors before heading to the indoor playroom where it is much warmer. In the playroom Kouza happily spent some time by my side accepting pets and cuddles. She then wandered around investigating all the toys and the other dogs in her group.

Jax is always a time and a half. This guy keeps me laughing throughout the entire play group. Jax was probably the most excited to get going outdoors despite the frigid temperatures. He ran into the main yard and quickly retrieved a ball. It didn’t take him long at all to begin chatting to me, requesting for it to be thrown. Of course he wasn’t willing to give it up. We had a long debate of “throw but no take” until I finally snatched it from him. We had fun playing fetch until his group mates decided it was too chilly for any more time outdoors. Jax was happy to come to the indoor play room and continue his games. We played around with his favourite toy, the Jolly Ball. Jax was so funny leaping up onto the couch with the ball. H impressed me very much getting on to the couch and continuing to protect his toy. We had fun batting the ball back and forth before he decided he was going to snooze on the couch while he friends sniffed him. Jax and I went back up to the playroom this afternoon since he enjoyed it so much this morning. Since it was just the two of us, I gave Jax a Kong with a milkbone inside. He was so excited to get that treat and he worked very hard to get it! He pawed at the Kong, sending it rolling across the floor, but that didn’t quite do the trick. Jax, being the smarty-pants that he is, picked up the Kong and brought it over to the couch, where he peeked inside to see that the cookie was, in fact, still there. He hopped up on the couch and pawed the toy some more, which sent it flying to the floor, which then dislodged the cookie! Jax was so excited and hopped down to gobble up his prize. Jax spent the rest of his time in the playroom with his favourite toys both on the floor and on the couch. He did check every now and then to see if another cookie appeared in the Kong!

I had so much fun with Syrus today! He began his day with a quick outing with his friends and then a walk shortly after, which he spent with Vega and Aurora. These three walked side by side for their entire walk and they all looked so cute with their fluffy tails in the air. After his walk, he relaxed for a bit and took a nap on his cot before it was time to go out with all his friends. Today Syrus had so much fun chasing all his other friends around the yard. He started off by just wrestling around with Korvo, Jake and Aurora. Syrus would stand back from them while they wrestled, and then quickly jump in there. Every time he did that, Korvo would turn around to chase him around the yard, but Syrus would just back away and do it all over again. Once I brought out a ball, the entire group, including Syrus, went nuts for the black Kong. I threw it and Riley was the first one there so he carried it around with him, but the rest of the group raced after him for the longest time, trying to get him to drop the ball. Syrus was right on Riley’s tail for a while before he slowed down to the back of the pack. I took this as a chance to sneak in some cuddles. I snuck up behind him and pet his back, but then he leaped up and tucked his bum and raced off into the yard, running with his friends again. Needless to say, Syrus was pooped after his time in the yard with his friends!

Max and Sadie were so much fun to be with in the yard today. They were both so excited, and it’s so funny to watch them play in the snow. Sadie loves to suddenly stop when she’s running around the yard and burrow into the snow right where she is and lie there for a second before leaping back up to play with Max. At one point, she made herself a tiny little snow bed in the corner of the yard in all the fresh snow and I could barely find her because she blended so well! I went to pet her and give her a belly rub and she wiggled her whole body onto my lap and we laid there for a while, until Max came and started to shower me with kisses and then he stole Sadie away so that they could play some more. They wrestled around a bit until it was time to head inside. Once we got inside, Max and Sadie were being so cute in their kennel together! Max was lying on the big fluffy bed and then Sadie joined him in their kennel and he got up and gave her some sweet kisses on her face and let her take over the big fluffy bed. He tried to nestle into the bed with her but Sadie wasn’t budging, so he curled up and took a nice nap on the cot beside her. These two took a long nap before they headed outside again.

Duke’s group was full of big dogs who are fans of sitting on laps! Duke loves to think that he’s a little lap dog and he loves to cuddle. In the yard today, Duke started off by trotting around the fence line to see what was new from earlier that day. Once he had sniffed everything, he came right up to me and buried his head into my legs while I rubbed his ears and head. He had to compete for my attention today because everyone else wanted lots of cuddles and to sit on my lap. While Duke had his bum sitting on my legs on the ground, I was petting his back and head, but then Mocha, the Bernese Mountain Dog came and sat almost right on top of Duke and then he jumped up and trotted off to see his friend Gryphon. These two then jumped and wrestled around for a while. At first Gryphon didn’t want to play, but Duke pawed at him a couple times and ran into him and then Gryphon decided to play for a bit. They ran up and down the yard, bumping into Dragon a couple times along the way. Duke was super happy that Gryphon was playing with him and these two had a lot of fun for a good while. Once it was time to head inside, Duke hesitated to follow everyone else in. He wanted to stay out and explore some more, but he came in and at lunch time I gave him an extra treat and a quick ear rub.
