The cat room is full of friendly faces and kitty antics. Rumple was sitting peacefully in the window watching the going ons outside in the beautiful weather. Little brother Harlow on the other hand was on the prowl, seeking out some cuddles and attention. Harlow stretched out across the floor before going to check on Rumple. Rumple was much more content keeping to himself and left his brother on the window sill while he climbed around on the cat tree. He perched himself on top of the house before retreating inside for a snooze. Harlow continued to watch out the window flicking his tail from side to side. He noticed his brother left he side, so he pounced onto the cat tree batting at Rumple's ear from inside the house. Rumple ignored his little brother's friskiness, so Harlow moved on. He peeked inside the tunnel and then leaped down onto the floor to play with some toys.

Bunker was a very busy bee around the yard during his group outings today. He spent lots of time investigating the yard, from corner to corner of the fence. Bunker said a lovely hello to me in between sections of sniffing area, and met a couple of friends, too. Percy the Aussie was very happy to meet Bunker, and wiggled his bum in excitement while saying hello. Bunker was very polite and sniffed him back before moving on to meet some other new pals. He was infatuated with Husky girl Skie, who is very fun and playful in the yard. He followed his new girlfriend around the yard for quite some time before stopping back at me for pets.
For his training today, Bunker and I headed up to the playroom to get accustomed to the surroundings and better acquainted with one another. We walked around the room together and I asked him to sit and lay down in various places to keep him on his toes. Kinsey came in to join us and she provided a good distraction for Bunker. I called him over to me, and she called him back again to practice his recall. We'll try out the long line on the front yard tomorrow!

Boris and Tasha were very excited to get outside today. The pair enjoy having the opportunity to play in the small dog yard, where there are many new scents for them to explore. It took both a while to get playing as they were both very focused on sniffing and exploring. When Boris made note of Kyah perched on the picnic table, he set off to try and get her going. She tolerated his shenanigans, but didn’t give in to his requests to play. Lucky for Boris, Tasha came flying around the corner eager to play with Boris. They set off on a very fast paced chase around the yard with smiles on their faces. Boris lead her around the tunnel and through it at a very fast speed. Tasha tried her hardest to keep up to her fit son. They looped around over and over until Tasha had to stop and catch her breath. Boris took this time to meet up with Isis and Sky who were hanging out at the door. Boris was very flirty with miss Sky, tossing paws at her and giving her lots of kisses. Sky was playing hard to get, but Boris wasn’t catching the hint. Tasha swept in to correct her son, as usual, only encouraging him to rough house some more. Before it was time to head in, Isis, Sky, Tasha, and Boris had some brief fun in the gravel yard.

Duke was very happy to have his best friend, Tiffani join us in the yard today. He loves her company very much, as she provides him with endless amounts of love and attention. We were working on Duke’s manners during groups today, to keep his mind busy. Duke was wonderful listening to Tiffani with any corrections provided. He was very happy to be in a group with Cabot and Tupper, the famous fetch players. He stayed hot on their heels for many rounds off fetch, trying his hardest to snatch the ball from them. He succeeded a handful of times, but always gave the ball up to them without any fuss. He was mostly keen to weave in and out of Tiff’s legs, accepting any pets and cuddles he could receive. He was sure to keep a close eye on his fetching friends in the process, but gladly enjoyed the one on one time. Duke, Susan and I spent some nice one-on-one time in the playroom this afternoon. He got pets and cuddles from both of his people friends, going back and forth between us. I offered him some treats for showing me his sits and downs, which he did beautifully. Duke always loves to hang out, no matter what we're up to!

Kai was rather playful in her group today. She had husky puppy, Vega, egging her on which was definitely the reasoning behind her silliness. Vega has a tendency to pick the quieter, more independent dogs to play with. There were numerous dogs out with Kai that were bouncing around playing, however Vega made note of Kai cuddling up to me minding her own business, and swooped in. Vega was all over Kai, not thinking too much about manors. Kai was very tolerant of her puppy behaviour, allowing Vega to jump all over her and swat her paws around. Kai returned the swats once and a while, but was mostly fond of the boxing matches Vega got going. The pair weren’t fair in size, but made the games work none the less. Kai and Vega spent a lot of time up on their hind legs with their paws wrapped around one another. I enjoyed watching Kai’s ears whip back and forth as she tried to toss Vega around. The girls kept each other very busy for most their morning play time. In between games, Kai was sure to find me for some pets and cuddles. She was a fan of this warm weather so she also enjoyed sun tanning when Vega was busy with other pups.
Kai is always a joy to spend time with. She ran straight up front and danced at the door until I caught up with her to open it up to the reception area. She did a quick scan of the room to see if there was anything new. Once she was satisfied she wandered over to my side looking for some treats. Kai sat not so patiently waiting for some goodies. I gave her a couple treats while she gave me her paw. I tried to get her to play with some toys and she seemed really interested in the blue bouncy ball. She nosed at the ball rolling it around and pushing her nose against it. I found the treat ball and filled it up with a couple more treats, Kai knew just what to do with this. She nosed it around the room until she got all the little tid-bits out.

Bruno seems to be feeling good today! I think this warm weather has put a spring in his step. He was eager to come out in the yard and hang out with me one on one. He did a bit of sniffing and exploring, but was mostly happy to hang out with me. Bruno loves to perch himself up on my knees and give me kisses. He’s also a fan of “high fiving” me, asking for more attention or maybe a cookie. His favourite part about spending his outdoor time with just a human, is the treats that we bring along. Bruno is happy to show off his commands for any tasty snack. Bruno also enjoys his more frequent walks out front. He loves adventuring through the field, letting his nose lead us around. I allow Bruno to lead the way, taking us wherever he pleases. He is always sure to avoid the puddles, as well as the muddy patches in the field. He is very fond of all the trees and shrubs as they have many scents potentially from rabbits that have homed there. When he is done all his adventures, he is always happy to make his way back to his kennel and cozy up for a nap.

Sophie was her usual playful self out in the yard today, and always has lots to say! She was barking and wiggling all over the place because she spotted the red Frisbee and thought that if she made enough commotion I would go over and throw it for her. As I walked towards the Frisbee, she started impatiently leaping up off her hind legs into the air in anticipation! I let her grab on to the other end with her mouth and she excitedly played a good game of tug; that was until mischievous Percy came along and snatched it away! There was no way Percy was going to let Sophie have all the fun and if there is a toy in the yard, you can be sure that Percy will be on the hunt! Sophie didn’t mind, she let Percy play with the Frisbee while she soaked up the beautiful morning sun and enjoyed some head scratches by my feet! Although Percy himself ended up leaving the Frisbee behind so he could join pals Jynxx, Bunker and Pippin for a chase around the yard. Silly Jynxx led the pack on a few laps around the yard, and Percy and Bunker were hot on her trail anxiously trying to keep up! Bunker was excited to be back and eager to meet all of the friendly faces and explore the yard! He especially loved Pippin who was pawing at him from the moment he stepped out, trying to see if she could get a rise out of him. Well he loved the attention and followed the playful pack wherever they went with a great big smile on his face!

The small dog clan was thrilled to head out the door this morning for an epic play session with all of their favourite four-legged friends! Daycare lads Miko, Merlin and Cloud led the way and raced one another down the hall to see who would be the first one out the door. Miko took charge and leaped out the door and zoomed across to the far yard with Merlin and Cloud anxiously trying to keep up behind. Cloud found his favourite red ball along the way and just had to pick it up in his mouth as he continued to trot towards Miko who was enticing everyone to chase him. Cloud barely got a moment alone to play with the ball, because Merlin and Miko were too excited to play with the little guy and enticed him to a group wrestle! Then Pelley swooped in and joined the fun, she didn’t want to miss out on all the excitement and soon enough we had a pack of silly dogs jumping and playing around. I could see Nanook peek his head around the corner to see what all the commotion was about and his tail started to wiggle in excitement as they came closer. But he was busy himself rough-housing with good pal Flora and the two of them danced around together on their hind legs making sure not to step in any of the puddles! Miko sneakily snuck into the further yard that I was trying to keep them out of due to the mud and started whipping around the yard in excitement. Pelley and Merlin curiously watched from the other side of the fence and wondered how he got in there! When Miko soon realized that his friends wouldn’t be joining him, he made his way back to the group to play, sneaky bugger that one is! It was great to see Merlin have so much playful energy today, he surely didn’t miss a beat and played to his little hearts content, I think he was sensing the playful puppy vibes from little Cloud and had a blast trying to keep up with him. And Pelley of course was just as spunky as any other day and loves to wrestle with all of her friends. When she was done chasing Cloud and Miko around, she joined Nanook and Flora for some more fun and Nanook loved the attention from these two silly ladies!

Pelley can put a smile on anyone's face around here with her scruffy little hair-do and personality to match. She explored the reception area thoroughly bouncing from one chair to another looking for treasures. I grabbed a handful of treats and got her to sit in different places around the room. She kept hopping up on the door looking out the window, so I grabbed a leash and we headed outside to do some more exploring. She loved trotting through the grass on the front lawn, nose to the ground. She soon saw the very big puddle in the corner of the yard and instantly wanted to go play in it. I convinced her to follow me the other way and we found some smaller puddles she could splash through and get her paws wet. Pelley was quite happy about this and continued to bounce through the puddles until she was satisfied. We headed back inside for a few more yummy treats and to dry out our wet feet.

Nanook is still getting used to the idea of extra attention. He pranced up to the front reception, turned around and came straight back to his kennel. Silly boy, I got him turned around and we headed back up front again. He peeked out the front door to see if anyone was around. I grabbed a handful of treats and his ears perked right up as he trotted towards me. I asked him to sit and he quickly plopped his bum down onto the mat. We did this a few times before I asked him to lay down. Again he was quick and laid down for the treat along with a cute little wave of his paw. He liked wandering around the room checking things out and checking in with me once awhile for another cookie.
