Nanook is so cute! He is such a little cuddle bug in the yard. He made his rounds around the yard, making sure to avoid puddles at all costs. He pranced over all the puddles, leaping up as high as he could. Over one puddle, he landed and some water splashed up onto his legs and it was very cute how he looked down at his paws and then quickly shook off. He then went along the whole fence line before making his way to me. I was sitting on the picnic table and he put his two little front paws on my knees while I was sitting and I pet his head. He wanted to kiss me on the face but I wasn't close enough so he just licked the air a few times. He jumped on the table and climbed onto my lap and I scratched near his bum and his legs. We stayed there for a while before going back inside. Nanook was super excited to get back inside. When I was going around with lunches for everyone, he looked so excited to get a treat so I went and grabbed a small treat for him and sat and pet him while he munched on it.

Jax was easy going today in the yard. He wandered around for a short time and then stood in the gravel and watched the others while they wandered around as well. He found a small bone on the ground and stood over it, guarding it from the others. He was staying there for a bit and then when I called him over, he slowly made his way to me. I was crouched down and started petting his head and rubbing his little ears. He liked it so much that he moved a tad bit closer and rested his head on my knee. We stayed like that for a bit of time, just petting Jax's head and stroking his back as well. Once Nanook came over to say hello, Jax remembered that he had a toy nearby and scooted back over to it to protect it. I grabbed the orange ball and threw it his way, because it was a better toy. He grabbed it and just held it in his mouth for a while. He wanted me to come over and see it but didn't want me taking it. Silly guy! Later on, Jax led the way to the playroom for his extra attention today. There were some toys laying around and he immediately started sorting through them, trying to find the one he liked best. Once Jax had picked a ball, he nosed it around and then barked to get my attention. I rolled the ball around with my foot while Jax attempted to steal it back again. Then we moved on to a bone, and Jax started pushing it around the room with his nose. He loves his toys, that’s for sure! We played a bit longer with them and then Jax settled down for some cuddles.

Bruno met Elo today, a Finnish Lapphund and these two boys became best friends instantly. It was super cute to watch them play because Elo is so fluffy and Bruno was trying to crouch and run underneath Elo every time. Elo would jump up and then bounce away from Bruno. Bruno chased him every time they did that. In between playing, Bruno took a break and came over for some cuddles. he loves getting a head rub. each time I rubbed the side of his head or on top, he would give me a big smile and close his eyes, like he was slowly falling asleep. I could only keep his attention for so long before his eyes started to wander, searching the yard for his friends. He continued to play with Elo, the two boys wrestling with each other. They are both such goof balls. One time, Bruno was on his back, wrestling with Elo, and then he jumped up and put his two front paws on Elo's back. Elo rolled over at the same time and Bruno went flying right over Elo, doing a little summer sault as he went. It was very funny to watch because Elo stood up after, and looked at me. He looked at me for a few seconds and then at Elo, a little confused on what happened. He shook it off and the two boys started to play again. It was hard to get these two inside after because Bruno was so happy to just spend the whole afternoon outside with his new buddy. Bruno, as usual, was a bundle of excitement when I got him from his kennel for extra attention. He raced up to reception, knowing exactly where to go. Right away Bruno was racing around in search of something interesting. I got him a few small treats and he proudly showed off his manners – and posed for a picture – before gobbling down his snacks. We then found a stuffed fox in the toy bin and played some tug-of-war. Bruno makes the funniest little chirping sounds! When the game was over, he carried around his toy to show off his victory. He then hopped up onto the chair to cuddle with me for a bit.

Chloe C. had a great day today. Like usual, she made sure to find the best ball in the yard and she carried it with her at all times. When she first got outside, she saw an orange ball and a bone lying beside each other. Chloe picked up each one twice before deciding to go with the orange ball. She is such a funny girl. Most days she isn't up for sharing but today she continually dropped the ball in my lap for me to throw it for her. I would throw it across the yard and she kept it with her for a couple minutes before running to me to throw it again. When I was petting one of her doggie friends in the yard, she nudged her nose in somewhere, whether it was under my legs or between my legs she nudged her way in and made sure to drop her toy somewhere where I could see it. One time, Chloe dropped her ball and Bandit stopped to sniff it. Chloe froze where she was and eyed down Bandit, seeing if he was going to pick it up. Just when he was going to grab it, Chloe crept up and leaped on top of it. It was very cute to watch because Bandit took this as an invite to play and went into a playful stance. He pawed at Chloe a few times and she turned to him and gave him a good sniff but then turned right around and stared up at me, as if to tell me she was not interested in her friends at all, but wanted me to throw her ball. I threw it as far as I could and Chloe took off after it. The next time she brought it back, I threw it right up in the air and she jumped up to get it, but it bounced right off the end of her nose. Her and I had lots of fun outside today! Chloe C. was eager to join me in the playroom for her extra attention. She raced a lap around the room to sniff things and glanced out the window once or twice. When she was satisfied, Chloe started searching for a toy. She found a few balls and rope toys, and struggled to pick between them! Chloe nosed around the toys for a bit until suddenly she found the perfect one: a bone. She scooped it up and carried it over to show me. Then Chloe laid down to chew on it for a bit. I sat down on the couch to pet her and Chloe got so excited she climbed half-way onto my lap, looking for cuddles. What a cutie – although certainly not a lapdog!

Bandit had a lot of fun today when we spent time together in the yard. He got to spend lots of time with his friends. His two favorites in his group are Charlie and Chigo. At first he found Charlie in the yard and started following him around, begging him to play. Charlie wasn't in the mood to play at first but Bandit slowly persuaded him and these two leaped around together for a short while. Bandit is so funny when he plays. When he leaps up while wrestling around with his buddies, he gives them a very wide-eyed look and whips his tail back and forth, happy as can be. His favorite thing to do is paw at his friends back and legs to get them playing and then he proceeds to chase them around the yard. He and Chigo did this for a long time! Chigo is a perfect play mate for Bandit. They get along really well. I tried to call Bandit over to me so that we could cuddle together for a short time but he was having a good time with his friends so I tired again later. Later on, he was very happy to come see me. He stood in between my feet while I scratched his back. His tail was sweeping back and forth, hitting my legs as it wagged. We stayed there together until Tiffani told us it was time to go in. By then, Bandit wasn't ready to go inside yet so he tried to run away and stay out for a few extra minutes. After all his friends were inside, I stayed out for a few more minutes with him, letting him explore the yard and sniff along the fence-line. He then trotted into the hallway, happy with all the things he accomplished outside today!
Bandit wasn't Chigo's only playmate today. He started off on a walk with Nyxx and you could see right away he really liked him. In playgroup this morning, Chigo was mostly focused on Bandit, though. The two boys spent a lot of time pawing at each other. Chigo would run away and then come back for more. He also enjoyed following Nyxx around the yard, although Nyxx was a little preoccupied with a bone he'd snagged. Later in the day, Tiffani spent some special one-on-one time with Chigo during which the two of them played fetch with everyone's favorite orange ball. Chigo is such a pleasant boy; we all love him and enjoy spending time with him.

Riley and Roobee both look very cute after their baths today! Riley's coat was very shiny in the sunlight today and Roobee has never looked more fluffy! In the yard, these two stayed clear of the puddles as to not spoil their newly cleaned fur. Roobee explored the yard during their main outing, while Riley took lots of interest in his friend Louie. Riley saw the labs playing with an orange ball and decided to check out what they were doing. He stayed close to Louie, sniffing him a few times and pawing at him to play. His friend was busy playing with the ball so he didn't take much interest in Riley but then Riley decided to try playing with the ball too. He saw an opportunity when both the labs dropped the ball and he picked it up. Riley was so happy while he ran around with it. He had such a pep in his step while he trotted around, leaping up every couple strides that he took. One time, he was jumping up with the ball in his mouth and he accidentally dropped it and he immediately crouched down and turned all the way around, worried that he lost it. He saw it and pounced right on it, and then continued carrying around his treasure. He continued playing with the ball and following his friends for the rest of the group time. Roobee stayed back a bit and supervised the young ones playing. Every couple of minutes she got inthe middle of the playgroup to see what was going on. She said a quick hello to her brother and then moved on to sniff the next thing she saw. I went up to her and gave her some cuddles. She stood in front of me, while I gave her bum and back scratch. She is super soft after getting her bath. Roobee loved getting her back scratched and she gave me a little bark when I stopped and then trotted away with a little protest. She is such a cute girl. Riley and Roobee were both very excited for their extra attention today. We headed up to reception where the two of them were quick to say hello to everybody. Roobee enjoyed some cuddles while Riley spent a few minutes checking out the room. He discovered the bin of toys and was soon digging through it with his nose. This eventually caught Roobee’s attention and she trotted over to have a look. Riley discovered a blue ball with something rattling around inside it and snatched it up before his sister could get it! He carried it around the room, pushing it all over the place with his nose and chasing after it when I bounced it for him. When Riley took a break to snuggle with me, Roobee stole the ball and started playing with it just like Riley had been. Then they both decided to soak up some more attention before we headed back to their kennel.

Louie and Iris are so cute! Today they had so much fun in the yard with the toys and with their friends! Riley really likes Louie. These two boys stayed together in the yard. Louie was happy to have his friends there with him but he and Iris were obsessed with the orange ball in the yard. Louie was the first one to pick it up. He carried it around for a little but then I saw Iris trying to grab it from him. He dropped it a few times and she tried to snatch it away but he always grabbed it first. After a while of her not being able to get it, she finally just ran up to Louie and grabbed the ball right from his mouth! It was too cute watching them both scramble to get it first. Iris got the ball and trotted over to me with her head high and her tail whipping back and forth. She dropped it and I threw it for her.Louie got there first though! He then came and pushed the ball against my legs. I grabbed it from him and threw it again. This time the ball escaped both these two goofballs and Riley picked it up first. The two labs stood there for a second, confused as to how Riley had gotten there so fast. I called both their names and they instantly forgot the ball existed and came running to me for some love and attention. Louie leaped right into me, and Iris came to me slowly, with her bum wiggling from her tail wagging so much. I pet them both with either hand and they each took turns giving me lots of gentle kisses. We all snuggled together for a short while before their attention turned to their beloved ball again and they were off. They stole it back from their friend Riley and had a blast playing again! They got really good at taking turns about who gets to carry it around. I took some very adorable photos of the two of them waiting very politely for me to throw the ball. A few times, Iris was sitting waiting and then as soon as I threw it, Louie took off but she just stayed sitting, like she was waiting for me to praise her. I bent down to pet her and pulled her close to me and gave her  good back scratch and kissed her on her head. She then trotted away, stopping to sniff some of her friends. These two were happy to get back into their clean kennel and enjoy their lunchtime treats!

Max and Sadie both had a very relaxing day today! It is my first day seeing Sadie with her Spring haircut and she looks very lovely! They walked on the front trail today with Delaney, and then came inside for a good nap. Later on during groups, Max and I had a huge cuddle session while sitting on the only dry place in the yard. I sat down and Max propped his butt onto my lap, and sat there while I stroked his back and rubbed his chest. He bent his head backwards and started to lick me all over my face. I started to give him a nice head massage and rubbed beside his ears and his face. He sat there very patiently, enjoying his lovely massage. I kissed his head and he slowly grew more impatient and then took off running towards Sadie to burn off some of his energy. While he was running towards her, Sadie was coming towards me. I walked to the picnic table and Sadie met me there. She loves to sit up high where she can get a break from playing with Max. She stood there while I gave her lots of pets and then she slowly relaxed and eventually was lying down on the table beside me with her head resting on my lap. I pet her head and gave her ear rubs on both ears. Sadie kept giving me kisses and then Max came over, jealous of all the attention she was getting. He stole Sadie away from me and they wrestled around for a few minutes before Tiffani told us it was time to head inside. Max cantered inside first as usual and I had to go grab Sadie because she was too content lying on the picnic table in the sun. They both squeezed onto their bed, after Max gulped down a bunch of water.

What a difference a couple of days makes! Ziggy was so relaxed and affectionate today now that he's thoroughly explored the room. It was lovely to spend time with him and he couldn't help rubbing against me and coming for cuddles. He's getting along very well with all the other cats in the catroom, although he does love his special time when he gets the whole room to himself. As soon as I sat down on the floor this afternoon, Ziggy jumped right down off his perch and stretched and then sauntered over to get some face and head rubs. He stretched himself along my leg and settled down for a nice cuddle. Later he hopped up into the cat tree and relaxed in his favorite cubby until it was time for dinner and his special treats.
