Louie and Iris have been having so much fun with us. These two love all the staff, all the dogs, and all the crazy weather that has happened since arriving. They have had -10 days with snow, they have had days where it hasn’t stopped raining, and they have had days like today where its 21 degrees and sunny. The duo is happy no matter what is going on, as long as there are dogs and toys. Louie was very interested in Molly today, as she too is a ball lover. The pair was pretty competitive with one another, in a fun way, for the ball when playing fetch. They kept each other on their paws at all times, constantly looking to beat the other to the ball. They were very well mannered at alternating who retrieved it and who got to chew on it. Iris wasn’t too fascinated in Molly and Louie’s fun. She was much more focused on all the fun puddles. Iris loves to splash around in the mud and puddles with her friend Chloe. When offered, Iris is always the first by my side looking for love and attention. When Louie spots she and I cuddling, he makes his way over and jumps all over me with his tongue out offering me love in return. I enjoy the company of these goofy labs very much. They bring such a great energy to their play group, and put a big smile on my face day in and out.

Cloud had a lot of fun with us today. He isn’t afraid to get dirty, to say the least. Cloud was eager to get out in the yard and see whom he could play with. He was excited to see his fellow Friday daycare friend Timbits here. They met up right away to goof around for a bit before he broke off to sniff and explore. While cloud was buzzing around the yard he came across Alyssa, who was more than happy to give him a good cuddle. Cloud is the cutest little man; it’s impossible to resist giving him loads of attention. While he was on Alyssas lap, he met Bruno who was very interested in him. The pair kissed each other and bounced all over one another while getting pets. When Alyssa put Cloud down, he zoomed off with Bruno eager to race around. He had a lot of fun zipping and zooming around the yard with Bruno as well as other playmates Elo, Tag and Timbits. Before it was time to head back indoors, Cloud was sure to visit the tunnel for some fun. He enjoys getting a birds eye view of his friends playing, as well as working on his balance. When he wants down he will politely look at me and lift a paw, eager to be lifted back to the ground. He then leaps back up again when he wants round two on the tunnel. He is such a happy go lucky guy, it doesn’t take much to please him.

Bruno had the time of his life today. He couldn’t have been happier with the dogs in his playgroup. He was so excited to have another fun day with his buddy, Elo. These two make for a great pair. They only played for a little before Bruno notice two other fun group mates; Tag and Cloud. Tag is one busy girl! She runs around looking for just about anyone to chase her and she was eager to have Bruno on her heels. Bruno was so fast zooming around after Tag. He was accompanied by fellow mates Timbits and Elo. This group of dogs darted all around the yard, not afraid to get a little muddy if it meant catching Tag. Bruno was so keen to zip and zoom around until finally everyone stopped to catch their breath. This is when Bruno made note of Alyssa and Cloud cuddling on a rock. He zoomed over to get in on the action. Bruno loves a good cuddle and pet, and was happy to have the extra set of hands outside to provide this for him. After some good attention, Bruno and Cloud took off for some fun before they head back indoors to get cleaned up and have a rest.

Coco really proved to us that she is quite the princess today. She was not keen on getting her paws dirty, what so ever. As her whole group was zipping and zooming around the yard with smiles on their faces, she hung back standing on the patio stone watching. After much convincing (and by convincing, I mean being carried) she joined her group mates in the yard. Everyone flocked to her to say hello, which she was reluctant about. When she spotted Alyssa kneeling down offering hugs and kisses her eyes lit up and she made her way over. Coco spent practically the remainder of her outdoor time with Alyssa. She climbed all over her, and enjoyed being held by her too. Right before it was time to head in, Coco participated in a group chase around the yard. Timbits on the other hand could not care less about a little mud and water. He was a speed demon with his friends today. He raced around the yard with his ears flapping along and tongue out the side of his mouth like the happy guy he is. He was so excited to have Elo, Tag and Bruno here for some fun. He was also very intrigued by little man Cloud. Over all, Timbits played with everyone and never stopped moving. Spring is a great time for TImbits as there isn’t much hiding under snow, which tended to distract him from the fun and games. He was a very busy boy and couldn’t have had a better day.

Max and Sadie both had a wonderful day today. They both wanted so many cuddles in the yard. First Sadie and I spent some time on the picnic table together. I pet her behind her ears and rubbed the top of her head, which she loved. It was so warm and the sun was so bright so she was squinting, and it looked like she was about to topple over and fall asleep! She then hopped down from the table and went to sniff around the fence line. With everything melted now, there are so many smells on the ground, and both Max and Sadie had their noses glued to the ground for most of their outing. When he wasn’t off exploring, Max was coming to me for some cuddles too. He stepped up onto the table too for some pets. Instead of sitting down, Max stood on the table to get a better view of all the visible yards. He then looked down at me and immediately started to lick my face all over. He loves to give kisses. Once he was satisfied with the amount of pets that he got, he leaped down and ventured off to the gravel yard, where he found a big puddle in the corner of the yard. Max spent a good amount of time sniffing the puddle, and even decided to dip his toes in. It was a little deeper than he anticipated and the water went halfway up his legs. He high-tailed it out of the puddle and did a quick lap around the yard before returning to the same spot. He slowly crept into the water this time and took a few sips before moving on. When it was time to come inside, Sadie wasn’t ready yet, as she was sun bathing on the rock. Max was more than eager to go in and gulp down his water bowl. These two really enjoyed the warm weather today.

Chloe was such a happy girl today! When we went out for our group time, Chloe couldn’t find a single ball in the yard but she didn’t mind. She walked around the gravel yard and sniffed all the fences and ventured into one of the outdoor kennels and spent a few minutes sniffing everything in there. Later, I opened up the gates to the other yard and Chloe was super excited at all the toys there were to choose from. She picked up three different balls before deciding that the orange, cracked ball was the one for the day. She carried it all around, never stopping her stride so that none of the others could have the ball. Eventually I caught her off guard and grabbed it from her. She stared up at me with wide eyes, eager to chase it. Instead of throwing it across the yard, I threw it straight into the air and Chloe jumped as high as she could to catch it as fast as possible. She took off in the opposite direction, running away from me as to not let me get her ball again. Later in the afternoon, Chloe and I were outside together again, but this time she was very happy to share her toy. We played tug of war with the ball for a few minutes. Chloe is so strong and is not the kind of girl to back away from a game of tug of war. She eventually got it and trotted off with it. Later we reconnected for some cuddles. I sat down on the stool in the yard and she put her front paws on my lap and I rubbed her ears.

Finnigan made a new best friend today! Kona the black lab arrived this morning and Finn instantly took a liking to her. Finn followed her wherever she went. When we were all spending time together in the gravel yard, Finn and Kona both spend a lot of time saying hello to the other dogs and sniffing along the fence. Once the gate was open to the other yard, Finn went crazy running around in the grass. Surely he made his way to a puddle. It wouldn’t be spring if Finn weren’t to roll around in a puddle! Once Kona found the same puddle, these two had a little competition to see who could get themselves more in the puddle. Finn managed to lie down completely on his side. He got up and shook off all the water, and then zoomed around the yard some more to get the dirt off of him. It didn’t last for long before he was exploring the next puddle in the yard. I called him over to come cuddle with me for a little but he wasn’t in the mood. He wanted to follow around his new best friend. He sniffed Kona for a little while and then decided to give her a break and say hello to some of his old buddies like Spencer and Nyxx, before we all headed inside.

Poppy is such a sweetheart! I love seeing her in the yard. She lights up whenever someone calls her name. She points her ears backwards and trots right over to you, eager for some hugs and attention. Today she did her usual rounds of the yard, and then went on to say hello to her friends. Today she met a new lab in the group, Kona, and Poppy was very intrigued by her at first. She hopped on her back and then pushed off of Kona and then ran away quickly. She did this a couple of times, trying to get Kona to play. Each time, she would run away and then walk slowly back towards her friend, like she was trying to sneak up on them. Eventually she grew tired of her new friend and came to me for some cuddle time. I was sitting on a little stool in the yard and Poppy came and gently placed her front paws on my lap and I gave her a face massage, which she loved. Whenever I switched sides, she would lean into my hand with her eyes closed. I gave her lots of pets and cuddles and then she went off into the yard. She stopped at Tatoo to say hello and gave him a quick sniff. Leah came and joined us in the yard and when Leah was petting Finnigan, Poppy got all excited, waiting for her turn to get some extra cuddles from her friend Leah. Leah pet Poppy and scratched her back. Poppy was so happy she was wiggling her little bum.
