Riley and Roobee were excited for their walk this morning with Nyxx. The three of them headed out the door to the trail, tails wagging. They followed Nyxx around the field sniffing and exploring. They settled down in their beds after their walk until it was time to go out for groups. Riley instantly met up with the young black lab Louie and bounced around the yard with him. Roobee prefers to keep her distance from all the craziness keeping an eye on her son and refereeing from the side lines. Riley took a break from playing with his friend Louie to go exploring with Roobee. The two of them wandered around the yard taking in all the fresh smells from yesterday. Riley joined back in with the group saying hello to little Shelby. He was a very good boy with her despite her small size. Roobee joined me over by the fence for a few cuddles and bum scratches while the rest of the group zoomed around the yard.

Riley and Roobee joined me in the playroom after groups this afternoon for some one-on-one time. They knew right away that I had some special treats in my pocket just for them! I asked them to sit and lay down before having their treats, and they were both great listeners! Next, Riley took an interest in a ball and I tossed it around for him. It was a pretty bouncy ball, which made it that much more fun for Riley! Roobee couldn't help but chase the ball once or twice, but she always left it for Riley to pick up and bring back to me. When the ball game came to an end, Riley and Roobee were ready for snuggles on the couch. Roobee stretched out and relaxed as I pet her chin and her belly. Riley hopped up and joined us for a bit before going to get a drink of water. I think Roobee could have lounged there all day!

Iris and Louie are too cute for words. The two of them were so excited for their walk they hopped and bounced around tangling the leashes all up. Once we got all sorted out they led the way along the trail. Iris liked to be in the lead and full steam ahead. Louie, on the other hand, liked to hang out by my side bouncing along and leaving my side once in awhile to check in with his big sister. They were both just as happy to go outside for their group. Iris met Shelby at the door and wasn't too sure what to think of this little brown fluffy dog barking at her. Iris barked back a few times and then went on her way. Iris kept to herself at first, exploring through the yard checking everything while her little brother met up with Riley. The two boys bounced around the yard twisting and turning until Louie spotted a toy. He picked up the rubber bone and ran around the yard showing it off to all his friends. Iris saw what fun Louie was having and just had to join in. She grabbed one side of the bone and the two of them played tug from one end of the yard to the other. Iris soon snagged the toy away from Louie and took off, and the chase was on. She raced around splashing through the water, teasing Louie with the toy. Soon enough Louie caught up and grabbed onto the toy again, continuing their game of tug.

Max and Sadie were so excited to be here on this lovely spring Monday. They went into their kennel when they first arrived, but within 5 minutes were let out into the yard. Max was so chatty when he got outside. He bounced around me saying hello over and over and then made his way to Sadie to converse with her. When Max approached Sadie she was very flustered, and began to bounce around him. They did numerous laps around the yard, wrestling and tackling each other with smiles on their faces. Sadie finally dodged away from Max and got to her famous spot on the picnic table. From here, Max tried to join in but didn’t quite make it up as easy as she did. She then led him over to the tunnel where she balanced on a rock trying to convince him  to leap over. When he finally dove at her, she took off looking for more chases around the yard. They had a lot of fun running around until Max decided to stick his nose to the ground and sniff. Sadie and I played some fetch while Max investigated all the melting. Finally, I cuddled Max before it was time to head back indoors while Sadie relaxed on the picnic table enjoying this wonderful weather. This afternoon, Max and Sadie enjoyed the walk they missed this morning - although they love routine, it's nice to switch things up once in a while!

Chloe C had such a great time in her group today. She snatched up a black bone on her way out of the hall from underneath an empty kennel. She was very proud of this accomplishment, and carried it around with her with much pride and joy. She had a couple of friends who noticed and who tried to snag it from her. Chloe is very good at dodging any attempts to get her toys, but she did encounter a couple moments where she had to tug for it. Chloe had a strong tug match with two fun boys Nyxx and Finn. The three of them tugged all around the yard with the bone in between them. Chloe won the first round and was sure to be more careful. However, Finn managed to snatch it from her and he wandered off with it. I offered her a blue Frisbee, which did just the trick at replacing the bone. After some Frisbee fun she decided to join in on the puppies playing. Chloe loved another dog also named Chloe. These two made a great pair, dancing and boxing around the yard together. Chloe was also sure to join in on some racing around the yard before heading indoors for a nap.

Chloe E had a time and a half today. She made a new best friend, little Tag. Tag is such a spunky little lady who has really been enjoying alternating between playing with the big dogs and the small dogs. Although Chloe is much larger than Tag, she is actually the same age. Their ages made for the exact same style of play and energy level. These two were glued at the hip for the entire duration of playtime. They really enjoyed sprinting full speed around the yard as well as wrestling and boxing. Tag loved hopping up on her hind legs and trying to swat at Chloe. Chloe would always back away, play bow, and then bolt off looking for a chase. These games continued on forever, occasionally including other dogs. Chloe and Tag were pleased to include another fun black fluffy dog named Finn. Both Tag and Chloe are very familiar with Finn and had a lot of fun with him. The three ended up getting into the mud when playing. Chloe had a tendency to play-bow in the dirt, getting her chest and paws all dirty, while Tag liked to jump all over Chloe who was already dirty. They ended up coming indoors with quite the layer of mud on them, which thankfully dried up and fell off of them. They are such busy girls! By the time they took a break they both passed right out.

Finn was full of Monday energy today. He was so busy on his walk with fellow puppy friend, Chloe. They kept Katie very busy on their walk, playing and zooming around for the entire time. When it was time to head outdoors, Finn was very excited to see he had Chloe and Tag in his playgroup. Although he was also distracted by his other friend Chloe and the toy she had, he was sure to join in on Chloe and Tag’s fun. Finn loved bouncing around with these girls. He was sure to zoom around and get right in on the wrestling and boxing. To no one’s surprise, Finn found a nice mud puddle too. He got quite comfortable in it, sitting in it while digging up the edges. Needless to say he wasn’t too tidy come the end of his outdoor time. He was eager to go out after a bit of a break indoors to continue his shenanigans. He loved playing tug with Chloe and Nyxx, as well as dancing around with Tanner.

Tanner had an outstanding Monday. I haven’t seen this guy this playful in ages. He was absolutely full of beans the moment he got outdoors. The youngsters in his group brought this wild side out of him for sure. Tanner was attracted to a young schnauzer named Tag right off the bat. This duo broke off for some fast fun around the yard. Tanner was very speedy, leading the lady in circles around the tunnel and along the perimeter of the yard. Chloe wasn’t too far behind and the duo quickly turned into a trio. Tanner had so much fun racing and playing with these two puppies. Tanner quickly fell in love with Chloe and began tossing paws at her. They boxed and wrestled around for a while until Tanner decided to hang out with me. Of course he wiggled his way between my legs for some extra attention. He only spent a bit of time with me before making his way back to Chloe, Tag, Finn and Nyxx for more group play. It was a lot of fun to watch Tanner leap and soar with such a big smile on his face.
