Cloud is such a trooper when it comes to these wet, dreary days. He really doesn't let the gloomy weather get him down at all. He comes in with a smile on his face, and keeps it there throughout his entire day. Cloud was so good on his walk today. Some days he causes quite the scene by running in circles around me, tangling his leashes up. All the puddles kept him very focused on the task at hand, resulting in him motoring along with his tail wagging. Cloud was very excited to participate in two groups today. His first group had the very active youngsters in it, which kept him hot on his feet. He loved racing around the yard with Timbits the beagle and Bruno the Frenchie. These three were speedy demons, ripping around the yard with smiles on their faces. Cloud was very excited to make his way into the tunnel, looking for his mates to follow him. They had some good tunnel fun before heading into the dry indoors. During Clouds next group, he was eager to see what Jax the bulldog was up to. He was very jealous of the orange ball he had and tried to get it from him. When Jax let out a big bark, Cloud was shocked and ran over to me. He slowly approached Jax after this, with much caution. Cloud finally became buddies with Jax, and spent some time following him around keeping a close eye on the orange ball and it's whereabouts before returning indoors.
Coco is not a fan of the water, to say the least. She was a little over dramatic at times which gave me a good laugh. On ur walk there were some puddles that were barely deep enough to consider puddles. She would stand on one side, whining, until she saw Timbits walk through it realizing it wasn't even deep. We carried along the trail like this until we reached the dry portin of the trail where she was happy to sniff and explore. Timbits is far from afraid of the water. He loves to splash all through it. HE even takes extra time in the puddles to sniff and dig in the mud. In the yard Cococ was happy to follow me around, sniffing and exploring. Timbits was a big fan of Cloud the puppy and Bruno the Frenchie. This trio kept each other very busy by running around non-stop. Timbits loved following Cloud through the tunnel as well as zipping behind Bruno as he darted in circles around the yard. These boys had a lot of fun together they barely noticed that it was snowing.
Nanook is such a sweet boy. He has really been enjoying his time with us, especially cuddling in the yard. He was happy to have two of us outdoors with him at the same time, providing him with multiple sets of hands for pats and cuddles. It is hard to keep Nanook looking fresh with his fluffy white coat in the spring. He loves to wander through the puddles, sniffing and exploring everything under his toes. He followed Cloud the puppy around for a bit and made good friends with Olive too. These dogs lead him around the yard as well as followed him on his ventures along the fence line. Nanook was happy to spend some time outside, but preferred his indoor play session more as it was dry and warm.
Bruno is such a feisty little guy. He adds so much fun to every activity that he participates in. On his walk this morning he loved zipping around after Resa and Tatoo as they trolled the perimeter of the tree line. He stayed hot on their heels, weaving in between the pair as they sniffed and explored. In the yard Bruno was a big fan of Cloud the puppy. He was sure to keep a close eye on him the entire time whether he was playing with him or just following him around. Bruno was so fast when Cloud got to running. He stayed right on his heels with a smile on his face, followed by fellow mate Timbits. These three boys zipped and zoomed around the yard like little rockets. Bruno was very good at following them through the tunnel, and beating them to the other side. He also loved jumping all over Timbits and Cloud, getting some wrestling matches started. When it was tiem to come in Bruno was eager to cuddle up on his warm dry bed before his next outing.
Jax was very excited to get into the yard and find some toys. He was quick to find a nice nylabone and get gnawing on it. It wasn't long before he spotted me across the yard with a nice orange ball and came motoring over to get it. He was rather speedy through the mud which surprised me. We played some fun rounds of fetch before Jax decided he wasn't going to give the ball up. A little puppy named Cloud was intrigued by his game of keep away, and kept Jax on his toes with his toy. Jax wasn't too sure about Cloud the puppy at first, but after much convincing on Cloud's part, Jax finally gave him the time of day. They wandered around together, both interested in the orange ball. Finally Jax dropped it, offering Cloud a turn with it. We played some group fetch before Jax decided he was ready to return to his dry warm kennel for an afternoon nap. Jax ran down the hall when it was his extra attention time today! He flew up to the reception area, peeking into the playroom on his way by. I let him choose where he wanted to go, and he chose the reception area. I laid a big comfy bed down for Jax and took out a few toys from the bin for him to choose from. Jax pushed a ball around before going over to hop up on the bed. I brought a few treats for him, which he gobbled up happily. Jax enjoyed his time hanging out and getting lots of pets in between spurts of playing with his ball.
Boris and Tasha were eager to get out on their morning walk with fellow daycare mate, Hobart. The three of them motored along the path, avoiding the puddles at all costs. Tasha was smart about simply jumping over them while Boris would walk all the way around them instead. In the yard the pair were happy to meet up with some of our huskies for their outdoor time. Boris was excited to see his sister, Magic, as usual. They always have so much fun when they meet up. They were quick to get to boxing and wrestling which soon involved Tasha, Isis, and Kyah. Tasha was very observant of Boris's every move with the ladies around. She kept him in line by telling him off with her voice and with her paws, over and over. He didn't listen too much, which only got Tasha more excited resulting in her zooming around the yard with her bum tucked. The pair wanted badly into the agility yard but with all the mud they were restricted to the gravel yard. I distracted them by offering them a ball, which only got the clan of huskies running around like crazy dogs all trying to get a hold of it.
It was another cold and rainy day but that
didn’t stop our four-legged guests from having a blast together outside! Riley
and Roobee met up with pals Iris and Louie; these two pairs of brother-sister
duos have really been enjoying their time together this past week and have
become fast friends. Roobee is a little bit more cautious than her silly
brother Riley, but she was very happy to be outside taking in the cool breeze
and of course in good company. You could see her run back and forth across the
yard with a great big smile on her face. And of course she had to make a few
pit stops by Leah who was handing out free head rubs; we all know how much
Roobee is a sucker for human companionship! Meanwhile Riley was off trying to
get the attention of daycare pal Hobart who was hanging out by the door. Riley
was trying to convince him to follow him out into the yard to join the others
to play. Hobart did eventually come out and ran up to Leah where he was greeted
with some cuddles. Riley then turned his attention to the rambunctious bunch
circling around him and joined in the wrestle with Finnigan and Louie, while
once finished with his head rubs, Hobart found a comfortable spot to lounge out
for the rest of the morning.
Iris and Louie were thrilled to be spending
their time outside today with frisky daycare pal Finnigan. As you can imagine,
Louie and Finn hit it off right away and with no hesitation started an epic
wrestle in the yard. Both Iris and Finn took turns being submissive as they
rolled around on their backs and pawed at the others from above! Then Finn was
swooped up by Leah and coddled like a baby, spoiled one that one is! Both Iris
and Louie were excited to try and paw at Finn from below; Finn tried his best
to defend himself as he kicked them away! It was a big group full of wiggling
black dogs, both Louie and Finn have so much excitement brewing up in their
little bodies that they cant help but vibrate with excitement! Both Iris and
Louie are still puppies at heart and definitely still play like puppies, there
they were both in the centre of the action with the rest of the pups
surrounding them just drawn to their fun-loving energy! A morning of play
called for an afternoons rest, but not for long because soon they would be
heading back out to do it all over again!
Chloe and Bandit were up next to burn off
some energy outdoors and play with their favourite friends. Bandit immediately
spotted Golden pal Charlie and enticed him to a friendly wrestle! The two of
them jumped up and down off their hind legs, excited to play! Meanwhile, Chloe
was pacing around the yard trying to find her favourite balls but was puzzled
when she couldn’t find one. She looked up at me with the saddest eyes but not
to worry Chloe, I was saving the perfect orange ball just for her in my pocket.
Her eyes grew a whole lot bigger when I presented her with the ball and off she
leaped into the air to catch it. As you can imagine the rest of her morning was
happily spent running around the yard with the ball in her mouth, dropping it
every so often to see if she could challenge one of us to try and steal it from
her, but with no such luck of course! Bandit had separated from Charlie and was
excitedly rubbing his bum against Leah as he was getting some back scratches.
Everyone was so thrilled to have an extra human in the yard today, two more
hands to offer up love!
