Jemma was excited to be back for yet another day with all her favourite four-legged friends, back to back days and she was still full of beans and ready to play! She zoomed out into the far yard and started running laps as fast as she could while scoping out the yard to see what friends she could play with today. She made her way over to Molly the Golden who was having fun playing fetch by herself and splashing in and out of the mud puddles, Jemma thought that looked like a good idea and joined in. These two mischievous girls got the attention of fellow daycare pal Kimi, who ran over to see what all the commotion was about. Jemma was thrilled to have another buddy to play with and started looping in and out of the agility tunnel to see if anyone could catch her! Kimi thought this was hilarious and impatiently stuck her head into the opposite side of the tunnel to see where Jemma would emerge. Jemma could have played this game all morning long and Kimi could have stayed and watched just as long; Kimi loves to hang out with the young and energetic pups, they bring out her silly side! Issy and Mocha weren’t too impressed with all the ruckus that was going on in the opposite yard. There was too much mud flying all over the place for Mocha to get her pretty little paws dirty. But of course, Issy, the white and fluffy one couldn’t be bothered and had to make sure she got in her usual laps, mud or not. She just had to make sure she dodged the rambunctious few who were whipping up a storm around her. Eventually she joined her sister Mocha on the quieter and dryer side of the yard!

Spencer and Tsavo were thrilled to be spending their time outside today with all our resident lady Huskies and this called for an epic playtime! Spencer remembers how much fun he had with them last time and without hesitation ran over and started a friendly wrestle with little Vega. These two were inseparable for most of the morning and Vega was jumping up and down from Spencer’s back in excitement! Well Tsavo wanted to join in on all the fun and quickly swooped in and took over for Spencer. Tsavo just adored little Vega  and the two of them spent most of the morning dancing together up on their hind legs. Spencer didn’t mind that Tsavo stole his little wrestling partner; he had his pick as to who he wanted to play with next and this time he was fending off Jynnx and Ivy who were anxiously wiggling their bums just waiting to pounce!

It was such a beautiful morning today that Khal and I decided to go on an extra trail walk; Khal loves his walks and it was the perfect spring weather for Khal to enjoy as he stretched out his long legs! My attention was all his, and he excitedly took the opportunity to weave in and around the trail to pick up on all the Spring scents. You could just tell how happy he was by the way his tail was perked right up and his floppy tongue just hanging out the side of his mouth in contentment. A short while later, he was ready to make another loop around the trail, but this time he was accompanied by Husky pal Isis and he enjoyed his walk just as much the second time around! After all that exercise he was ready for an afternoons rest, but it wouldn’t be long before he was getting back out enjoying that beautiful sunshine! This afternoon we focused on Khal's training and socialization. He met up with pretty girls Isis and Merida in the yard to do some mingling and work on proper meet and greets. Later on in the afternoon, Khal and I headed up to the playroom for some one-on-one time. I offered him a few toys, including a ball and some stuffed animals, but Khal was more interested in pets and cuddles! I was more than happy to sit on the dog bed with Khal for a good ear rub and back scratch.

Max and Sadie, my favourite brother-sister duo were ready to soak up some much needed sun this morning! Although the sun was warm, the yard was still a bit muddy from all that rain we had, and Ms. Sadie was hesitant to get her beautiful paws dirty, but then Max came thundering by without a care in the world and kicked up mud towards us on his way by anyways! Sadie decided that she wanted to stay off the wet ground and ventured back and forth between her favourite rock looking out into the field and of course the picnic table! Meanwhile Max was off trotting around the yard with his nose to the ground. This Spring melt bring out lots of new smells and our guests just love to explore! Next it was time for their morning trail walk and Sadie didn’t care too much about the mud this time - the two of them were excited as ever to be out trotting around!

Bruno had a very good day today! To start off in the yard, he relaxed more than usual and took a nice stroll through each yard, sniffing all the rocks. At first he was avoiding all puddles, but by the end of his group, his little paws were muddy as can be. After he was done sniffing, Bruno went and sniffed all of his friends. He eventually made his way over to Shelby, and Shelby was so taken with Bruno. Her fluffy tail was wagging while he sniffed her face and then she raced across the yard. Bruno was excited that one of his friends wanted to play chase. These two raced around the yard for a good while before taking a break. Bruno accidentally ran straight into the back of my legs and I stole his attention away from his friends. He jumped up on me and I started to pet his head and then scratch his back. Slowly, he lay down on his back and let me give him a quick belly rub. It was short lived as Shelby came racing around the corner of the building and Bruno was off running again.
Bruno loves his extra attention time! Today we went into the playroom with some new stuffed toys and the treat puzzle. Bruno absolutely loved a green alien stuffy and shook it as hard as possible as he ran around the room. He couldn't help but leave the toy when he saw me putting some treats in the puzzle, though! Bruno spent a little while carefully nosing around in each compartment to find his prizes. We finished Bruno's extra attention time with some back scratches, which turned into belly rubs.

Pelley is so funny in the yard! This girl sure loves to swim, and everything having to do with puddles. On her walk, with Bruno and Sam, she made sure to get as low down in the water puddle as possible, and when she stood up, she shook off so many times to try and get all the water right off of her. A few strides later she was almost dry! In her group playtime, Pelley was having lots of fun with her friends, and getting some cuddles and hugs in between her playing. She really likes Shelby. When Shelby and Bruno were playing, Pelley watched them run around for a few minutes before tagging along behind them. She would run up to them and leap onto their backs to get their attention and then leap away from them to get them to chase her. Pelley had some lovely one-on-one time in the playroom this morning. She spent some time sniffing around the room before trying her paw at the treat puzzle. Pelley is such a smart girl and seems to really enjoy doing some brain work, especially when there are treats involved! After some time spent nosing into each compartment, Pelley was ready for some pets. She enjoyed some chin scratches before something in the toy bin caught her attention.

Maya was a very cute girl in the yard today. She wasn’t in a very playful mood so she mainly explored the yard. While the others were playing, Maya found a nice sunny spot in the dry grass and stood there watching them run around. I stood with her for a good while, petting her head and rubbing her ears. We got up together and walked over to the farther yard where the puddles are. She took no interest in going near the water and instead stayed on the outside of the yard. After sniffing around the rocks, Maya returned to her sunny spot in the grass. A few dogs went up to her and sniffed her and she wagged her tail happily. Maya was happy to head inside and spend some time with her new friends Isis, Sky and Shelby. These ladies all hung out for the day, and got along great!

Percy and Cai both had a blast in the yard today! At first, they were each doing their separate things in the yard. Percy was sniffing the whole yard, and he ventured into the agility tunnel a couple of times to check things out. After, he found a ball in the tunnel and he and I tossed it around a few times. I threw it in the air and each time I did, Percy would try so hard to catch it in the air but he missed every time. After he was done playing with the ball, Percy and Cai met up. Cai had been exploring the yard himself, accompanied by his friend Duke. Cai and Percy are such good friends. These handsome fellas started to play wrestle with each other. Percy made the first move, and jumped into Cai. Cai was reluctant to play at first, but it didn’t take very much convincing on Percy’s part. Cai then ran at Percy, and they played chase for a bit before beginning their play-wrestle match. Eventually both Cai and Percy got tired of playing and they went off to do their own thing again. Cai tried to play with his new friend Farley, but Farley wasn’t in the mood to play. I called Cai over to me for some cuddles and when he saw me, his face lit up and he trotted right over. I got him to sit down right next to me and I gave him such a good ear massage. Cai gave me a few kisses afterwards and pawed at me to pet him some more. We spent a few more minutes together before the whole group headed off to the gravel yard to go inside. Percy wasn’t very eager to go inside, but instead wanted to play in the small turtle pool. Unfortunately the pool was very empty so his pool playtime was cut short. He made his way inside and settled in for a nap.

I was so happy to see that Kai was staying with us again when I came in this morning. Kai is such a pretty girl, and is always so happy in the yard. Today, she went from very relaxed to full on play mode during one of her outings. She did her usual rounds of the yard, saying hello to all her friends and then sniffing a few things. I wanted to give her lots of cuddles in the yard but she was so much more interested in exploring. A few minutes went by and then I went to find Kai again in the yard and she was having such a good time! Percy and Cai were playing in the yard and Kai got really wound up and she started to zoom all around the yard, hopping over puddles. It was so cute when I called out her name and she turned around to face me and went right into a bow/playful pose with her bum in the air and her tail sweeping back and forth. We cuddled for a while after and then Kai returned to her friends, spending some time with them in the yard as they all played together.
Kai is so lovely to spend time with. She's the most laid back girl and enjoys lots of love. Today, Kai played around with the treat puzzle for a little while, before settling down for a little rest and some chin scratches.

Sophie always has so much fun outside, no matter what she is doing. To begin, she followed Percy around the yard. Percy was going in and out of the agility tunnel and Sophie kept going to the opposite end to see where he was going to come out. Sometimes Percy tricked her and went out the same way he had come in. Sophie was standing at the other end, wondering where he was. It was pretty funny to watch. Sophie then found a pink ball hidden in the grass. She picked it up and brought it to me to play with. I threw it for her twice, but she only brought it back the first time. The second time she wanted to keep it all to herself so she carried it with her. She walked around the yard, stopping when the other dogs came to say hello. Once I saw that she had dropped the ball, I went over for some cuddles. I sat down on the gravel with her and we stayed like that the rest of the time we spent outside. She stood overtop of my legs, with her nose right in my face. She kept sniffing my nose while I was petting her and each time I went to say her name, she gave me a big kiss-silly girl.

Duke was the life of the party today during his group. His new friend Farley was a big fan of Duke and these two handsome guys started to play together right away. Once Farley got a little tired of playing, he went off to explore. Duke stood there for a second wondering what to do next. Cai saw Duke and immediately headed for him to play. They hit it off too, and Duke and Cai play-wrestled together. They’re both big and super strong, so they were an even match. Cai eventually veered off from their game so Duke was left to find something else to do again. He came to me for some cuddles, and wiggled his way under my legs for a good cuddle session. I pet his head and took some adorable photos of him. Afterwards, Duke took an interest in the puddle. He started with his two front paws in the water but next time I looked, he was lying down in the water. Once his legs were completely wet, he got very excited and started to run all over the yard. Needless to say, Duke was a busy boy in the yard and had no complaints about coming inside to relax on his cot.
Duke is proabably the biggest lap dog that I know! He's such a teddy bear, and I'm not sure he realizes his size! He sat down on my lap on the dog bed in the playroom this morning, and looked back at me waiting for his pets. I gave him lots of ear scratches before he decided to get up and have a look around the room. I set up the treat puzzle and Duke nosed around to fish out each of the liver treats inside. Once he'd found them all, Duke was ready for more relaxation time on my lap.

Poppy was all for the cuddles today. She spent some time with her friends in the yard and sniffed around the fences like she usually does, but for the most part, she wanted to sit by me and get lots of attention. The two of us sat on one of the big rocks in the small dog yard, and just watched all the others play. Every few minutes, Poppy would get up and wander a short distance away, but she came back every time. Near the end of our group time, we all went back into the gravel yard. Before going inside, the group of dogs stayed there for a bit and Poppy was running in and out of the outdoor kennels. At first I wondered why she was so excited about going in there, but then I realized there was a snuffed animal sitting on top of the fence. I grabbed it down for her but as soon as she saw it, she took no interest and headed towards the door to go in. Once inside, I pet Poppy a few times in her kennel and gave her a liver treat.
