After walks it was time for Dani’s extra attention time and boy was she ever excited! Right from the moment I saw her, Dani was bouncing all around her kennel. She was trying to even bounce off her kennel walls at one point! Eventually she calmed down but her tail was still going as fast as it possibly could. We raced up to the front playroom side by side and were ready to play. Dani sprinted in ahead of me and immediately picked up the first toy that she saw. She convinced me to race around the room with her and a rope toy. Dani loved trying to get me to grab her toy away from her but then she’d jump away as soon as I’d go for it. This went on for quite some time before I finally got it from her. For a little while I had her jumping around in circles trying to get it from me, which was so funny. She loved racing around the playroom trying to get any toy away from me. For a little while I had her playing fetch with me and a big red ball. We ended off the group with a short cuddle and went back to her kennel afterwards.

Tasha and Boris were absolutely fascinated by their new group members, Francis and Nunu. These two ladies are Inuit sled dogs, full of energy to match Boris and Tasha. Boris instantly began sniffing these two over, head to toe, ensuring to thoroughly investigate them before playing. Once he was content with the pair he pounced on Francis then bolted off looking for a chase. Francis was more than happy to zoom after him followed by her sister Nunu. From here on out Francis, Nunu and Boris were attached at the hip. They alternated pouncing on one another, toppling over each other, and leading chases around the yard. Boris was mostly interested in Francis, as she was into intense wrestling much like Boris. Nunu stood back supervising their rough housing for the majority of the time while Boris and Francis flew their limbs at one another. Boris loved the rough playing that Francis was giving him and continued to keep her very busy by tugging at her fur in the friendliest manor. As they continued to play around they were all slowly running out of energy, leading them to break off and sniff around. Boris didn’t spend too much time sniffing and exploring before Tasha was stalking him from the other yard. She quickly lay down as he approached her, and then pounced right on him. Tasha and Boris instantly got into their usual shenanigans of running around the yard and leaping on one another. Francis, Kyah, and Nunu gladly joined in on these games too. This group of 5 northern dogs was so much fun, all keeping one another very entertained.

Jake had an absolute hoot in his group today. He was absolutely thrilled to be accompanied by so many young, outgoing dogs. Jake took his time sniffing all his friends, getting to know each and every one before committing to one. He was so excited to be invited to chase with Timbits, Tag, Coco and Marley. Jake was so fast on his feet, keeping up with this gang with no problems. After numerous laps around the yard with this group of dogs, Jake broke off with Tag and Marley for a brief period of time to do some goofing around. Jake loved Tag the young schnauzer who is so outgoing and bouncy. After some goofing around with her he diverted his attention to Marley, and really focused in on him for some good playing. Marley and Jake have met before, and loved each other back then too. They have very similar personalities, making their playing very even and well matched. This du loved to bat at one another, which always proceeded to turn into a wrestling or boxing match. Jake and Marley were constantly played bowing back and forth at one another, inviting each other in for more games. Bella spotted her brother having so much fun in the other yard, so she slowly made her way over to check him out. She wasn’t too sure about the rough housing, so she supervised from the sidelines instead. Marley offered for her to join in a couple of times, but she politely declines. Bella much preferred to hang out by my feet, accepting lots of pets and cuddles. She did a wonderful job of keeping me warm on this chilly chilly day.

Timbits was so excited to be here today. He was mostly excited to have so many fun, outgoing, young dogs in his playgroup. Coco was pretty excited as well, but Timbits is always the one to get the party started. As usual, Timbits wiggled his way into the grass yard and instantly began pouncing around with Tag, a lovely young schnauzer. Tag was more than happy to give in to his game request and began pouncing and bouncing all around Timbits. Timbits was quick to turn around and begin zooming away looking for a chase. Tag was very fast on her feet and kept up to Timbits very well. As Coco watched the chasing occurring, she closely waited for the right time to pounce in. As Timbits zoomed right by her, she pounced directly on top of him pinning him to the ground not letting him escape. Tag was a little confused, but continued to run nonetheless. Timbits wasn’t going to let Tag get far from him so he squiggled and squirmed until he could escape his big sister. He picked up the pace and caught up to tag very fast. They continued to bolt around the yard, soon joined by Jake, Marley and Resa who were all very keen to sip and zoom around. Coco gave up on trying to get her brothers attention, so she diverted hers to a couple great toys in the yard. Coco kept herself occupied with a colorful rope toy and a fluffy fox until Timbits decide he was jealous and wanted in on the toy action. At this point, Marley the beagle left the other dogs visit his two fellow beagles. Marley, Coco and Timbits made an adorable trio, displaying the varieties you can see in beagles. They had good fun goofing around for a little bit before Coco decided she wanted cuddles and Timbits turned back to his friend Tag for more games.

It is so nice to have Amber, Iris and Darby staying with us for an evening. These girls look so cozy in their sweaters, all cuddled up on their comfy beds in their kennel. The trio had great walk with Nicki this morning, leading the way without and worries in the world. They sure do move fast for three little ladies. They were happy to head outdoors for the groups, after suiting them back up in their sweaters. Iris instantly began zooming around the yard, closely exploring all the scents in the yard as well as investigating the other dogs. Amber and Darby kept a close eye on their brave sister; slowly following in her footsteps to see what she thought was so interesting. Amber was happy to explore with Iris, while Darby got very distracted with her own nose and found herself along the outskirts of the yard sniffing and exploring on the rocks and in the long grass. Iris found herself in the middle of a big chase game and briefly played along. She liked the attention Tag was giving her, and ran in circles with her for a short period of time before retreating back to myself and Amber. Amber was very happy to have both her sisters with her today. She is always conscious of their where about; always checking up on the two of them in between snuggles with me. Iris gets very jealous when I’m snuggling Amber and not her, so I had to hold the pair together a bunch of times today. Darby isn’t as snuggly as these two, but she does enjoy a good scratch behind the ear. When she is really excited she will squeal and squeak and do a little bum dance, then continue on with her nose to the ground. These three were happy when it was time to come indoors, as it is much toastier inside this time of year. They were quick to get cozy on their beds and doze off for an afternoon nap before their next outing.

Tasha and Boris spent part of their morning in the indoor playroom as part of their extra attention. They knew exactly where to go when I let them out of their kennel and off they went speeding down the hallway for some playtime. At time Boris is interested in playing with the variety of toys; I even let him stick his head in the toy bucket to find one for himself. He got bored of that quickly because Tasha called him over to the chair to wrestle. She perked herself right up on to chair and Boris pounced up on his hind legs to wrestle. I took a seat on the floor to get some good pictures but sure enough these two came running over and showered me with kisses and hugs! I grabbed a few liver treats and immediately their bums hit the floor like the obedient dogs they are waiting for their snack! We spent the rest of the time cuddling mostly, these two were vey affectionate this morning that’s for sure!

Finnigan, Kaos and Kane led the greatest playgroup of all time this morning. I literally couldn’t keep up with this group because they were all zooming around the yard in pure excitement; there was not a moment of rest! The action started with Finnigan and Kane chasing and wrestling with the just as playful Mowgli. Mowgli would roll onto his back while Finnigan and Kane wrestled and pawed at him. Kaos the sweet but sometimes shy girl couldn’t resist and immediately ran over to join in. Kane then spotted Charly playing with the rope toy and ran over to snatch it away from her. This started another playful wrestling match between the two. Soon enough every one joined in and before I knew it they were running circles around the yard one after another. They even made sure to stop by the empty pool to wrestle. Finnigan then found a tasty stick in the yard and guarded it with his life as Kane and Charly tried to steal it away. Kaos happily waited in anticipation, as she knew this would lead to another chase around the yard and sure enough off they all went. As you can imagine this was a tough group to call back inside, as they didn’t want their playtime to end. They needed some much-needed rest to gear up for their next outing!

Dani and Chloe were next to spring out into the yard and get some much-needed energy out for these two playful girls. First things first they must find the toys in the yard and make sure no one gets to them first. Dani quickly found the Frisbee before Chloe even had a chance and she excitedly pranced around in pride. She didn’t realize that she would have another contender though and that was our little Husky pup Vega! Vega would bark and howl at Dani to give it up, Dani found this quite amusing and was up for the challenge. Of course she was much too quick for Vega to actually get it away from her. Dani is actually only interested in the toys if someone else desires them. She loves the thrill of stealing it away from the others. Chloe gave up on the Frisbee but was excited to find the rope toy. Much like Dani was, she was proud of her rope and ran around the yard with it flinging from her mouth. Once Dani saw that Chloe had the rope she gave up on the Frisbee and ran over to try and steal it. The two of them would jump up and over the agility tunnel with their toys in mouth enticing the other to try and chase them. If I was lucky, I would grab the other end of the rope for a good game of fetch and at one point they each had an end in their mouths as they pulled and tugged.

Charlotte and Sophie also joined Chloe and Dani outside this morning but they were off doing their own thing. Sophie the gentle and sweet giant made her usual laps of the yard before taking a spot near the door. She always knows that I will eventually come over to rub her head; smart girl that one is. Charlotte on the other hand was busy playing with Kalum and Vega. The three of them had a riot chasing one another across the yard. Charlotte made full use of the agility tunnel and would run back and forth through it as Kalum and Vega chased after her. At one point she poked her head out as if she was telling them to come and get her and Kalum wrestled her at the entrance. Vega jumped up on the tunnel and tried to get her from above so she had to be quick and run through the opposite side. Charlotte is always a favourite out in the yard and really knows how to get the action started and it was awesome for Kalum and Vega to take such interest and run their energy out with her this morning.

Daycare ladies Sophie, Bella and Oakley spent their morning with Daycare pals Walker and Ranger, some of the nicest lads around. This group isn’t as rambunctious as the previous groups as they more so like to roam and explore the yard and take in the fresh air. Sophie provided much of the entertainment for the rest; she loves her toys and was ready to play fetch with me. She would bounce around with anticipation as I would throw the Frisbee and off she would go leaping after it. Finally this got the attention of Walker and she was happy to have another buddy play with her. Walker the sweet boy got to spend his day in the staff room with ladies Charly and Merida and boy did he love it! Ranger man was a pleasant boy as always as he made a few laps around the yard making sure to stop and say hello to friendly faces Bella and Oakley. Bella and Oakley mostly hung out with me and Oakley would often find a spot right between my legs where she had access to extra pets. On the rare occasion she would get enough confidence to jump and play with Sophie but then immediately return to my legs for comfort. Bella the smiling lady sniffed out every corner of the yard then followed Walker and Sophie around as they played fetched and would bark to tell them to settle down. It was mostly a quiet bunch this morning but I think they were happy to peacefully roam around on this beautiful morning.
