Riley joined one of the most energetic and playful groups out in the yard today and boy was he thrilled to be a part of it. This group included most of our daycare guests who are known to have a good time. Riley made sure he quickly did his business and rounds of the yard so he didn’t miss out on any of the fun. First stop was a good game of tug and fetch with Charly who was guarding the rope toy. He was happy to play with this rambunctious golden and was surprised at how strong she was. Back and forth they would pull until Riley would give up and chase her until he could get it back again. Every time I would call Riley out in the yard his whole body would wiggle with excitement and wiggle his way over to me for a quick head rub but not for long because next up it was the grand chase after little Vega. Riley enthusiastically joined the others as they ran circles after Vega and wrestled one another along the way. There was so much to do and pups to play with in the yard, Riley could hardly keep up and was due for a much-needed nap afterwards!

Sophie and Charlotte were pleased to find out that they were going to spend their time up in the reception area today for their extra attention time. What more could two sweet Golden’s want? The reception area was full of interaction from various staff members and that meant extra love and head rubs. Sophie was particularly thrilled about this as there wasn’t a moment that she wasn’t being pet. Charlotte found the little bin of toys and fetched out a teddy-bear that soon became her favourite of the morning and you could see her holding this bear in her mouth proudly as she pranced around. Surprisingly even Sophie wanted a chance to play with this bear and she was quite perky this morning! The fun continued out in the yard for these two this afternoon; Sophie was interested in the other group play in the far yard and took a seat to watch the entertainment from a far. Probably a good thing, since there was a lot of action happening in her group; she wanted to avoid getting tossed and turned! Charlotte of course doesn’t mind the being in the middle of the action in fact that’s where you will most likely find her since she seems to be a favourite of all our four-legged guests. Kalum the Husky loved Charlotte and these two wrestled and played all morning long. Charlotte took cover in the tunnel and this enticed the rest of the group including Indi to try and catch her. She would poke her head out with her big tongue hanging out to see if the coast was clear! What a silly sister Sophie has!

Dani and Chloe were two of the most playful ones of the bunch as you can imagine. These two girls are both clever and quick and therefore made a perfect match out in the yard. You could find Dani literally leaping across the yard and weaving in and out of the other guests. This really excites everyone and gets the play started. Chloe found a rope toy in the yard and immediately snatched it up before Dani could see it because we all know how much Dani loves her toys! Chloe proudly held this rope in her mouth and pranced around the yard with excitement. Along came Dani and would bite on to the other end resulting in a strong tug between the two. Chloe would not let up and usually won the battle against Dani since Dani was easily distracted and would dart off to jump up on the tunnel. Even Charlotte wanted to take a stab at this game of tug and Chloe encouraged it because she knew she would win! She would then follow me around the yard to try and get me to play so I would grab the other end and start to tug and her little bum would wiggle with excitement!

Issy and Mocha had a rather feisty day today, compared to usual at least. All the boys in their group were very interested in any female around them, and Mocha and Issy were no exception. The moment they got in the yard, Max made his way to Issy to begin flirting. Issy wasn’t opposed to the extra attention, allowing him to kiss her ear and brush into her side. Issy even gave him a few bum bumps, which lead him to think she wanted to play. The moment Max pounced on Issy, the sass came out and she immediately shot him down. Max was quick to take the hint and then left Issy alone to sniff and explore. Issy was pleased when she came across Tasha, and the duo did some exploring side by side.  Mocha also found herself involved in a little action with a usual group-mate Boris today. Boris was very into miss Mocha, her good looks and her good charm set him on an endless hunt to get her to play with him. I was shocked to watch her give in, and briefly box around with him. After some dancing around, Mocha too let Boris know enough was enough as she was too mature for his shenanigans. Mocha then carried on with her nose to the ground, investigating the small dog yard until outdoor time was over.

Max and Sadie were very excited to get out into the yard this morning. Max was very quick to make his way to Issy and instantly begin showing off for her. For some reason he was extra fascinated with her today, continuously asking her to play and dance with him. He was so excited when she gave him the time of day and he instantly began kissing and flirting with her. Issy shot him down after a little while, but this didn’t bother him too much. Max then set off to find his usual pals in the grassy yard and get to running around. Max and Percy made a great duo today, constantly running in circles chasing after one another. Sadie was happy to get involved at one point, taking the lead and control of her brother by pinning him to the ground. Despite Max’s big personality, he is such a suck for Sadie, and lets her get away with whatever she wants. Max, Sadie, and Percy continued to romp about in the yard until Boris got involved, setting Max off to play with him. Sadie took this opportunity to meet up with me on the picnic table to get some pets and cuddles. I was happy to have her nuzzling in to me to keep me warm on this cold day.

This morning during Boris and Tasha's extra attention I changed things up and offered them Kong bones with treats really hidden inside. This kept the pair so busy. Both Tasha and Boris could not figure out how on earth to get the treats out of their bones, constantly looking back at me as if they were asking for help. Finally, Tasha figured out once side of hers, which lead her to figure out the second side as well. Boris was completely defeated, as he began to cry at his toy. I had to give in since Tasha got her treat, and I gave him his. It kept them very occupied in the playroom, before we did some cuddling on the couch. In the yard, Boris and Tasha kept one another pretty entertained. They did some exploring and some brief playing with other dogs but mostly goofed around together. Tasha loves to be across the yard, and lay down while staring Boris down. Boris will slowly approach her, and then pounce at her. Tasha flings up and bolts off with her bum tucked looking for a chase. They did this over and over again, zipping and zooming around the yard. They tend to dart over and through the tunnel, which entices their other group mates to join in. Boris loves being the centre of attention in big group play, while Tasha prefers to lay back and join in when suited best. Tasha was full of beans today for her training. Boris was just as eager and tried to join Tasha and I for our training session, but I told him he had to wait patiently for Susan later this afternoon. So, Tasha and I went up to the busy reception area where lots of small dogs were running around. This is always a good learning opportunity for the huskies to mind their manners around the smaller guys. We then went for a stroll down the driveway practicing sits and downs and jogged back to the lounge. It started snowing while we were outside and I think Tasha was excited that winter is coming soon! We did some fun down, stays in the lounge before Tasha got distracted. I managed to get Tasha’a attention back with some treats and finished off her training with a few games of catch.

Percy and I had a great morning walk with friends Kyah and Justice. Percy was so well behaved, walking right by my side for almost the whole walk. Every once in a while he likes to stray into the field to do some sniffing and exploring, but is always sure to make his way back to my side. In the yard Percy never stopped running. He was so fast on his feet while he chased his buddy Max around. Percy always impresses me with his recall, retreating to my feet whenever called. Sometimes he gets too intense with his running and barking so I will call him over to get him to take a break. He never hesitates to come to my side, happy to have my attention. Percy loved joining in on Max’s tares around the yard whenever the opportunity sparked. Percy makes Max run very fast, staying right on his toes zipping behind him. Max takes Percy on quite the adventure through the yard, zipping around every obstacle he can. Percy never loses sight of Max ahead of him, and continues to motor forward during every chase match. Percy was very tired by the time groups were over since he ran and ran all morning long. He was happy to get back to his warm kennel, and crash for an afternoon nap.

Lola is such a cuddle bug. I was thrilled to have her in the yard with me today, as her group mates were very busy playing around. She did a wonderful job sitting with me on the picnic table, keeping me warm as everyone else ran around. Lola loves to nuzzle in to my lap, and roll on her side as she sits there. She was also very happy to trade places with Miko so that she could go sniff and explore the gravel yard. When she was done adventuring, she found a nice spot in the sun where she tried to keep warm despite the frigid temperatures. Pearl was very busy today, as usual. She was quick to meet up with her buddy Miko and begin adventuring around the yard with him. The pair took a break from sniffing and exploring to get some games going. Pearl was happy to romp around with him, mouthing at his neck and pouncing all over him. Miko loves to play around with Pearl, happily doing whatever she pleases. The pair had some intense wrestling matches in between zipping and zooming around the yard. Today, Pearl discovered underneath the picnic table, and used this area as a tease zone to escape Miko. She loves watching him bounce around the outside of the picnic table, trying to get her to come out. She finally gave in and the pair went back to zooming around the yard before Pearl decided to take a break and hang out with her sister in the gravel yard.

As usual, Miko had a fabulous day at daycare. He was surprise to see there were fewer small dogs today, but this didn’t drag him down at all. He was so happy to have Lola and Pearl here as well as miss Vega, the young spicy puppy. Miko alternated playing with Pearl and Vega, depending on the mood he was in. Miko always loves hanging out with Pearl, as she is a wonderful wrestling mate. These two romp around side-by-side, mouthing at one another and squirming all over one another. When Pearl was ready for a break, Miko was more than happy to go find Vega and check out what she was up to. He was pleased to be invited in on a race around the yard with Vega and Resa. I was impressed at how fast Miko could run, keeping up to the long legged girls without a problem. Vega noticed Miko was right on her tail so she came to a halt and pounced right on him. Miko wasn’t too sure about this, but he took it like a champ nonetheless. The pair continued to wrestle around, until Miko decided he had enough. He was then happy to come over to me and cuddle in to my side, providing me with some necessary warmth on this freezing fall day.

Francias and Nu-nu are sweet as can be. This pair is absolutely lovely, not to mention so adorable! I had a wonderful walk with this powerful pair this morning. I have learned to walk fast, and the pair will stay on the path. They love to motor ahead with their noses in the air, marching as fast as possible. Sometimes they compete with one another for who can be further ahead, but are always reminded by me that it isn’t a competition. They love when I call their names on walks, as they will come wiggling to my side with big smiles on their faces before motoring back ahead of me. Francias and Nu-nu have really been enjoying the company of two Siberian huskies, Justice and Kyah. Justice and Kyah are an inseparable pair, who love to wrestle and run. Francias and Nu-nu are always more than happy to join in on their games. Today, Francias was the one who got all the games going. She bounced and pounced all over Kyah, inviting her to wrestle, which got Justice’s attention too. Soon enough, the trio were romping around the yard, mouthing at one another and pouncing all over each other. Nu-nu hung around, supervising the shenanigans, joining in when she thought appropriate. Francis and Nu-nu love watching Justice and Kyah play on the tunnel as well as run through it. The pair hasn’t quite figured out how to get on the tunnel yet, but they seem very interested in attempting it.
