Jemma is always bursting with excitement for her extra attention. After walks this morning I went to get her from her kennel and she immediately leaped to her feet. Knowing exactly where to go, Jemma led the way to the playroom. She spent the first couple of minutes exploring the room. Then, we headed to the toy bin. Jemma pulled out a ball and started playing with it, tossing it up in the air and rolling it around with her feet. She then scooped it up in her mouth and went to sit on the chair. Eventually Jemma decided to look for a different toy, and we played with a new ball for a while. Finally Jemma and I went outside for a short stroll, although she was content with just a quick sniff of the grass as it was raining, and we soon headed back inside for cuddles. Jemma loves playing with all of her pals. For her group today, as soon as I opened the door she shot out the door like a bullet and took off around the yard. As she ran around the yard, she caught the eye of Mowgli who then decided to chase her around. After the two slowed down, Jemma and Mowgli Spent some time wrestling around on the ground after that Jemma and mogul he decided to keep chasing each other around. After Jemma got tired she decided to spend some time sniffing around the yard and sat down to watch all her pals play with each other. By the time it was time to go back inside Jemma decided that she wanted to run around the yard a few more times before she went back inside.

Maya and Makayla were delighted to team up with their husky friends Tycho and Lucy for groups today. The four of them trotted out into the yard and immediately set to work exploring. Lucy hurried over to give a big happy greeting to Maya. Both of their tails were wagging like crazy as they sniffed each other's faces. Then Maya went of on her own to investigate a patch of grass. She slowly made her way along the face, nose working to pick up anything interesting. Maya seemed to enjoy the nice sun that we had just in time for their group; it was a great improvement over the rain we had during walks. She wandered around a bit longer and then stopped by to say hello to me and get a quick cuddle, before going back to visit with Lucy again. They both seemed like they wanted to play and would occasionally bounce around together, although then they would go back to sniffing. Makayla was busy doing her own thing. She had picked up a scent in the grass and was focused on following her nose. I knelt down to take some pictures of her and Makayla looked up, tilted her head at me for a moment as if posing for the camera, and then continued wandering. She bumped into Tycho and the two of them casually bumped shoulders. Then Makalya suddenly pounced, and Tycho leaped out of the way and went racing off. Makayla decided it wasn't worth the effort to chase him and happily went back to sniffing. When we headed inside, the girls passed by a big comfy chair at the front and Maya was quick to claim her spot. I let her sit in it for a few minutes while I pet her and took pictures, before ushering the girls back to the groom room where they curled up for naps.

Boris and Tasha were certainly an energetic addition to their group today. Boris especially was playing with every dog that was willing. First, Molly N. started racing around the yard, which caught Boris's attention, and he soon went flying after her. They were running in circles and rolling around on the ground for a good five minutes before they even slowed down. The play session ended with Molly sprawled on the ground and Boris wandering off to find another play mate while Molly was catching her breath. He chanced upon Molly K. this time, who was quick to pounce on Boris. Soon they were chasing each other all over the place. The other Molly joined in again, and when the group raced past Tasha, she didn't hesitate to leap after Boris. Tasha pounced on Boris's back and sent him tumbling to the ground, where the two Molly's wasted no time jumping on top of him. Tasha went back to sniffing around with Justice and Ricky, pleased with her work. Eventually Boris managed to wriggle out from underneath the pile of dogs and went bouncing over to his mum. The two of them leaped onto the picnic table and Boris almost went sliding off the other side since it was wet. They both surveyed the yard and then Boris leaped off and went running after Molly N. Tasha observed the chase from her new perch. It seemed that the two of them racing laps wound up the rest of the group, because shortly after Tasha had gone flying off the picnic table and hurrying after her son, and Justice, Ricky and Wally were close behind her. The entire group was tearing around the yard with Boris right in the middle, and Tasha attempting to tackle Boris to the ground. Finally the dogs slowed down for a breather right as we were about to head inside. It had started to rain even harder so everyone made a beeline for the door.
This afternoon we did a combo extra attention and training session for both dogs. They provided a great distraction for each other, especially after tearing around the lounge and leaping all over me for attention. When we moved back into the reception area, I asked both Boris and Tasha to do some basics and they were quite willing to do anything for some yummy treats. They were having more trouble with duration, however, so we worked hard on holding a stay in the hallway with the door between us and going to place on the chairs. They both thought that they should get way more treats than they did and kept leaping off the chairs. With some repetition, however, they finally understood what it would take to get their reward and they did amazing!

Tobin is really enjoying his stay with us. After his walk this morning we spent some time together for his extra attention in the reception area. When Tobin first got to the front, the first thing he did was sniff through the toy box, however he quickly ran over to say hello to Susan and Delaney. After giving everyone some loves and kisses, Tobin decided to come back over to me for some treats and a few cuddles. After showing me how well he can sit for a treat, Tobin ran to the door to look out at the rain, thankful that he wasn’t out there in it. After spending some more time cuddling, Tobin went back to his bed before he went out for his group. For Tobin’s group he spent most of his time playing with Rosie. As he ran along with Rosie in the yard, the two looked like a match made in heaven. Tobin would occasionally run over to Rosie and give her a few face kisses but for most of the group Tobin and Rosie spent their time chasing each other around.

Duke is always full of beans and ready to get out on the trail after breakfast time. He knew right away what time it was when I walked up to his kennel with leashes in my hands. Once he was leashed up, Duke and his walking buddy motored along the path. Duke walked with his nose down, determined to take in all of the smells along the way. When it was time to go outside for his group, Duke ran through the hall as fast as he could and ran straight out the door. After sniffing everyone and saying hello he decided to spend some time alone sniffing around the yard. After sniffing around the yard for a while Duke decided to run over to his pals that were playing and join. After do you got tired he spent some more time sniffing around the yard with his good pal Casper following him, before him and Casper decided to play. As Duke and Casper ran around the yard they took a break to give each other if you kisses, and then went separate ways. Before it was time to go back inside you came over to get a few treats from me, and receive a few cuddles.
