Lola is having an absolute blast with us. Vega and she are the definition of thing one and thing two. All of their actions represent monkey see monkey do. When they got into the yard they zipped into the grassy yard side by side and instantly began goofing around. Vega leaped onto the picnic table, and Lola was quick to follow. They mouthed and pawed at one another while sitting on the table, pausing to supervise their friends every once in a while. After their table top fun, Vega lead the way to the back of the yard where she hopped up on a rock - showing off to Lola. Lola wasn't going to let Vega steal the show, so she hopped up right next to her. The pair stood still on the rock staring st one another until Vega finally made a move. She leaped off and leapt on top of the agility tunnel then flew off. Lola, trying as hard as possible to rein-act all of Vegas swift moves, wasn't so graceful in jumping over the tunnel. She got her front end up as the tunnel began to roll away. She tried walking with the tunnel as it was rolling but ended up belly flopping onto the grass. Vega was quick to take this opportunity to leap all over her. Lola wasn't going to dare let Vega win anything so she pulled a fast one and snatched her tail on her mouth like usual. Lola tried dragging Vega around, however Vega weaselled her way out of Lola's chompers and darted into the tunnel where the games continued. The duo wrestled around in the tunnel for ages, rolling themselves all the way across the yard with their silly games inside. I had a great time watching this goofy pair frolic about. After loads of wrestling Lola bolted off across the yard looking for a chase. She was thrilled to be accompanied by Blue the lab puppy as well as Vega, Reds, Emma and Charlie. This group of dogs was very fast on their feet giving Lola a big challenge. She impressed me with her speed and continued to out run all her friends until they all slowly ran out of gas. By the end of groups Lola was more than happy to sniff around the yard and come over to me every once in a while looking for some extra attention.
Emma had such a fun filled day! She is having so much fun with her young, playful group. Every day she seems to find a pal that brings her out of her shell and really gets her moving. Today, not to my surprise, Emma loved Shadow the young schnauzer. Shadow is full of beans, always looking for a mate to chase after him. Emma was more than happy to be this dog today. Emma bounced around the yard after her, trying hard not to run too fast so that the game could last. As Shadow motored his little legs Emma would pounce behind him with very clean big strides. They did laps and laps around the yard, out running all the other dogs that tried to join in. Emma had finally ran out of energy and slowly came to a trot. She took this opportunity to make her way to my side where she snuggled into my leg looking for pets and cuddles. Emma loves getting her chin scratched as well as behind her ears rubbed. While Emma was minding her own business, young Blue decided to take it upon himself to get her playing. At first, Emma wasn't sure, but after some enticing she was quick to make great friends with the playful blue. This duo was hilarious to watch, they loved to leap high and land on one another. Emma and blue didn't do much running, rather they spent a great amount of time romping around, wrestling, and rolling. Emma loved all the attention she was getting today. She had a big smile on her face as we made our way inside to find her bed and have an afternoon snooze.
Poppy had a quieter day today, but still enjoyed herself very much. All of the playing and goofing around that she got involved with last week may finally be catching up to her. Today poppy was very happy to spend her time outdoors with her nose to the ground. She loves to thoroughly investigate the yard before greeting the other dogs. She made her way around the perimeter of the agility yard with her muzzle deep in the grass and rocks, ensuring to pick up on all the scents. After much exploring poppy made her way into the yard to check up on her group mates. She said all of her hellos before making her way to my side for some human attention. Poppy politely pawed at my leg and then nuzzled into my side. She was happy to receive some pats and cuddles before her friends came over to join us. Poppy then took this opportunity to briefly monkey around with Scout and Mercer. She liked watching Scout toss her toy around and she also enjoyed watching Mercer dance around with group mate Emma. After supervising some playing, Poppy made her way back to the gravel yard where she put her nose to the ground and sniffed until it was time to head indoors.
Maggie is really warming up to all her pals as her stay progresses. When it was time for her to go out with her group this morning, Maggie ran around the yard as fast as she could, chasing all her pals. As her friends Dragon and Gryphon ran past her she joined them for a little game of chase me. After chasing the boys around Maggie came over to me and sat pretty for a few treats before she wandered through the yard, sniffing as she went. After sniffing around, Maggie spent some time sitting beside me to get some pets, along side her pal Kunoichi. After the two got some cuddles, Maggie wandered around the yard, watching her pals play before it was time to go back inside.
Bandit loves getting to spent time with all of his pals. When it was time to go out for his group, Bandit ran down the hall as fast as he could, barking at his pals as he went. As soon as he got outside, Bandit said hello to some of his best pals, Kunoichi, Colin, Duke and Casper before he ran through the yard. As he slowed down a bit he took some time to run through the tunnel and sniff around inside it, before he saw that Kunoichi wanted to play. After wrestling around with her for a few minutes, Bandit came over to me for a few treats, and then went back to playing with Kunoichi before it was time to go back inside. For his extra attention today, Bandit had the pleasure of going wherever his nose led him. Leah took him all around from room to room and out into the front yard to explore there. Leah offered Bandit a few different toys before settling down for some snuggles. After cuddles, Bandit enjoyed going for a little stroll around the field before heading back to relax before group time.
Colin had a blast during his last day with us. As he walked down the hall with all his pals, he barked his heart out to tell all of his pal’s hello, and then ran straight out the door. As he ran around the yard to sniff around Colin saw that there was a nice grass patch that he wanted to go sniff around in, so he did. As he sniffed around, his pal Casper came over to say hello to him, but Colin wasn’t all that interested in playing around today. Before continuing on sniffing Colin sat back for a few minutes to watch his pals play around, but then went back to sniffing. After sniffing around in the grass, Colin decided to wander around the yard for a few more minutes, before it was time to go back inside.
Duke is the sweetest boy in the world. When it was time to go out for his group, Duke pawed at his kennel while he waited his turn to be let out, then ran through the halls as fast as he could. When he got out the door he sniffed all his pals, and said hello to everyone then ran around the yard a few times. As he ran around the yard, Duke spotted a part in the gate where he could peek out to look at all of the interesting things that happens in the driveway. After looking around, Duke spent some time cuddling with me while he watched his pals tumble around the yard. After cuddling with me Duke went over to welcome Casper into the group once again and ran around with him until it was time to go back inside. When it came time for Duke’s extra attention he was just
ecstatic to leave his kennel and join me for some fun. Duke waited patiently
for me to put on his leash but as soon as we started down the hallway he took
off like a little bullet. The two of us raced down the hallway and out into the
front yard. I attached Duke onto the long leash out front so that he had the
opportunity to roam around a bit more freely. As soon as he got on the leash he
ran to the end of it in every way possible. I don’t think he understood the
whole leash thing as he kept running back and forth to the end of it each time.
Once I picked up the bright red Frisbee in the yard it was game on. Duke raced
right over to me and tried to steal it out of my hands but I threw it just
before he could grab it. He had so much fun racing after it that we did it over
and over again until he started to slow down and get distracted by other
things. Eventually I moved him into the lounge area where he could lay down on
one of the big comfy couches. Duke and I mainly sat down and cuddled in here
until he started to get energetic again. We finished off his extra attention
time with some games in the agility yard. Duke loved racing all over the yard.
Jax is such a great cuddler. For his extra attention this morning Jax and I spent some time in the lounge cuddling on the couch. As soon as I opened he door to the lounge, Jax immediately ran over to the couch, sat and barked as he waited for me to lift him up on the couch. As I sat down beside him, Jax sat like the perfect boy he is and asked for a treat. After getting a few treats, Jax wanted down form the couch to go sniff around, so I helped him down. After sniffing around the lounge and getting a nice big drink of water, Jax came and sat on my lap for the rest of his extra attention. When it was time go out for his group, Jax ran down the hall and out the door. After sniffing around for a bit Jax said hi to all of his pals, before coming to lie beside me for a few pets and treats. After cuddling for a few minutes, Jax spent some time sniffing around in the grass before it was time to go back inside.
