When it came for their outdoor play group time, Ricky, Wally and Glory were so excited to get outside and see their friends Maya and Korvo. Glory was a bit tired and was lying on one of the cots in their kennel when I went to get them for their group time. Ricky and Wally immediately convinced her to get up and join them and off they all went. Ricky darted straight into the yard and did a few very fast running laps to start to get all of his energy out. Wally was content to do just one slower lap and them greet his other friends. Glory on the other hand wasn't as keen on racing around the yard just yet as she wanted to get her pick at the best toy in the yard. As soon as she got into the yard Glory found a big green snake stuffy that she fell in love with right from the get-go. Maya and Korvo were also very excited and had an overall awesome play time. This time, it was Maya who was the most excited to get outside and start playing. She raced out of her kennel and couldn't wait to greet her other friends. As soon as she saw them it was sniff central. She followed each and every one of them around the yard while giving them an overall sniff until she was content. Korvo was a bit slower to come outside until he saw who was out there with them. As soon as he saw Wally, he completely b lined it for him and immediately wanted to start playing. The two boys danced around each other for quite some time before the play tackling started. Korvo was always very quick to get the upper hand on Wally but Wally so big and strong that he could tackle Korvo very easily whenever he wanted to. Sometimes when Wally would go to tackle Korvo, Korvo would quickly slip away and run off which looked hilarious from where I was standing. When Wally wasn't playing with Korvo he was obsessed with Glory's green snake toy. Glory got to play with the snake toy with me for quite some time all by herself. She'd jump up on the rock and play tug with me for as long as I'd stay there with her. However, sometimes she'd almost fall of the rock which let me win the game of tug. Other than those times, Glory always won against me. After some time, Wally decided he was interested in the green snake toy as well and had his heart set on getting it from Glory. The two of them played tug with it for almost the entire remainder of their group. There were times for both of them where they had won and were running around with it in their mouths but the other one always ended up stealing it again. Maya ended up having a pretty quiet group time and actually hung around with Ricky for quite some time. Her favorite thing to do was cuddle with me or Megan. Megan is an past worker that came by for a visit and Maya just couldn't get enough of her. She loved following her around and convincing her to give her as many belly rubs as possible. Ricky definitely took use of the opportunity as well and stuck around them for quite some time. Every so often, Maya would join in on the fun and games with Wally, Korvo and Glory but she would always return for snuggles. Ricky was just full of beans today. He spent most of the play time racing around everyone when he wasn't cuddling with Megan or I. By the end of their group time he was definitely tuckered out.
Bauer is having such a great time with us. For his walk this morning, Bauer and I went out with his pal Molly, and he was quite excited. When we got to the field, Bauer and Molly parted ways and went to sniff around, before coming back to my side. Near the end of the loop, the two stopped, and Bauer watched as Molly rolled around in the field, he thought about joining her but he ended up deciding against it. When Bauer got back to his kennel he went for a little snooze before it was group time. When it was time to go out for his group, Bauer was so excited. When he got outside, he ran around the whole yard to see if anyone would chase him, no one was quite ready yet. When Bauer slowed down to sniff around a bit he saw that his pals were starting to play, and quickly ran over to them to join in on the fun. Before it was time to go back inside, Bauer spent some time by my side cuddled up under my arm. Bauer was so happy for it to be time for his extra attention later in the day. We made our way up to the front play room where Bauer really started to get excited. He started to throw his head back and howl before bouncing his way over to me to demand some pets. Bauer was quite happy to have all the bum rubs, he kept glancing over his shoulder with a big smile on his face. He then spun around and launched himself at me to make sure I was getting enough attention as well. After Bauer had made sure I had enough slobber he turned back around to get some more bum rubs. I then left him to go and grab a brush. As soon as he saw it he settled down so I could give him a good brushing, though he kept rolling around so I could get different spots of his body.
Chloe is so energetic. For her walk this morning, she bounced around the field like a bunny; it was a riot to watch. Throughout her walk she spent some time sniffing around in the bushes and enticing her pal to play with her, but she was mainly focused on powering through her walk. When she got back to her kennel, she curled up on her cot and took a little snooze. When it was time to go outside, Chloe plowed through everyone in the hall to get outside as fast as she could. When she got outside, Chloe spent some time sniffing around in the yard before she saw the tennis ball. After seeing that she wanted to play I quickly grabbed the ball and through it across the yard and watched her bring it back to me. As we playing fetch, a few of her pals came over for some cuddles, and she soon joined in too. Before it was time to go back inside, I made sure to toss the ball around a few more times for Chloe, before she got tired.
Francis and Nu-Nu are such sweeties. On their walk this morning, they spent some time wandering around in the field as they followed the dogs in front of them. As the walked through the field, the girls spent some time wrestling around with each other, excited to be out in the cool morning breeze. When they got back to their kennel, they curled up on their beds and had a little nap. When it was time to go out for their group the girls were sol excited to get to spend some time with their good pal Justice. As they three ran around the yard together, Nu-nu took off to the far fence to sniff around, while Justice and Francis flirted with each other. After chasing Justice around for some time, Francis finally started to get tired too, so she went over to join Nu-nu in her sniffing. As the pair sniffed around the yard, they saw a special visitor through the fence, and waited patiently for her to come into the yard. As Megan got into the yard the girls ran up to her and rubbed against her legs, it was truly adorable. Before it was time to go back inside, Megan and I spent some time bundled up with the girls, cuddling on the grass.
Oliver is so happy to be here with us. On his walk this morning, he got to spend some time with his two new pals, wandering around the field. As we walked along, Oliver spent most of his time with his nose to the ground, before he lifted it up to look at me. When he got back to his kennel, he took a nice big drink of water before curling up on his big comfy bed. When it was time to go outside for his group, Oliver ran through the halls as fast as he could, excited to be getting out in the yard. As soon as he got outside, he waited at the door for all of his pals to come out, then gave them all a nice long sniff. As he walked around the yard, Oliver spent some time watching his pals play, however his main focus was time sniff around. Before it was time to go back outside, Oliver and I spent some time cuddling together, and I gave him a few treats. For Oliver’s extra attention today, we went on a nice long walk through the field. As I got him from his kennel and hooked him up to his leash, he jumped for joy as we walked down the halls together. As we walked through the field, Oliver spent some time munching on grass, before rolling around in some hay. When we finished his walk, we spent some time cuddling in the front and he showed off the cool tricks he knows for a few treats. Before I took him back to his kennel, I grabbed a few more treats and gave them to him when we got to his kennel.
Walker had a great day at daycare. Walker got to spend his day in the staff room with a nice comfy bed, which he definitely took advantage of. For his walk this morning, Eric took him out front and around, and as they walked Walker watched his parents leave before he focused on his walk. As he trotted along side Eric, he stopped a few times to sniff around in some bushed, but quickly got back to his walk. When his got back to the staff room, he ran over to the bed, curled up and slept until it was time to go out for his group. For his group today, Walker got to spend some time with a few of his old pals, and a few new ones too. As his group ran around the yard, he spent some time watching his pals running around, before running over to them to join in on the fun. As Walker and his group chased each other around the yard, he started to slow down a bit and came right over to me when he saw that I had a few treats in my hand. Before it was time to go back inside, Walker spent some more time playing with his group and sniffing around the yard.
