Max and Sadie couldn’t wait for it to be their turn for group. Right out the door, Max was all about saying hi to the rest of the group and seeing what they were up to. Sadie was more about seeing what all was going in the yard itself. Her nose hit the ground and she was off in search of all the interesting things. Sadie noticed the pool in the other yard and curious had to go over and check it out. Max spotted Tsavo and Cai checking out the play structure in the other yard. He went running over to see what they found so interesting. When Cai left them to come have a visit with me, Max decided that was quite a good idea and came running over for some attention of his own. Shortly after that Max and Cai started to wrestle and have a great time. Sadie continued on exploring, though she’d now gone out to the yard with the play structure and was thoroughly going over anything that caught her eye. Max took a break from playing with Cai to do a little more exploring. That didn’t last long and soon he was trying to get Rosie to play with him. Max then veered off from Rosie to go and launch himself at Sadie. This got her attention and the two of them went racing over to the play structure. Max ended up inside and having some fun digging while Sadie peeked in from one of the holes. When he finished with the digging Max took off racing with Sadie once more. They caught the eyes of the rest of the group and soon everyone was running. It then turned into Max and cai having fun wrestling while Sadie and Tsavo looked on.
Tsavo and Cai were so excited to get outside for group time. As soon as they got the door they went charging into the yard to say hi to the rest of the group. Tsavo was particularly happy to see Rosie. Wanting the group to have lots of room to play I opened up the gate to the other far yard. Tsavo and Cai were quick to go racing out there and see what there was to explore. They both found the play structure quite interesting and spent some time checking it over. Max went racing over to join them. Cai then decided to head out and come for a little visit with me. After he’d got enough love and attention he figured it was time to play. Cai went and launched himself at Max. From there they had a grand old time wrestling. Tsavo made her way back to the other yard to do a little more exploring. She then spotted Rosie again and wanted to play some more. Rosie was good with this and soon they were wrestling and racing around. Cai and Max split up to do their own thing, so Cai went back to touring around the yard. When Max went racing around the yard Tsavo and Cai were both quick to go racing after him. It wasn’t long before it turned into Cai and Max wrestling.
Issy and Mocha were all about the exploring as per usual. It didn’t take long for Mocha’s nose to the touch the ground and head off in search of something interesting. Issy went trotting further out into the yard. She was then stopped by Rosie who wanted to say hi and she how she was doing. Mocha finished with the main yard and decided to take a bit of a break and just sit and watch what the rest of the group was up to. Issy also finished touring around the main yard, but she decided to then make her way out to the far yard to see what was going on out there. Issy was distracted from her exploring when she noticed Rosie and Tsavo playing. She stood around watching their antics for a while before returning to her explorations. I made my way back to Mocha to see how she was doing. She was happy to get some pets and attention. Issy ended up following me over and decided to spend some time hanging out with her sister.
Abbie and Jock’s noses hit the ground shortly after they got out the door. Jock lifted his head and spotted me. He came trotting over for some pets. Abbie was content to keep sniffing with the addition of Missy, who was tagging along after her. Jock went back to exploring and Abbie went and joined him. The two of them wandered around the main yard checking out anything that caught their attention. Abbie then decided to go and join Missy and Spock in the far yard and see what was going on out there. She noticed the pool and went over to investigate. As Abbie was moving on to more of the yard Jock made his way over to the pool to give it a once over of his own. Once there was nothing left to check out about the pool Abbie and Jock went back to exploring in the grass. Jock noticed me once more and came trotting over for more attention. We met up with Abbie, who was happy to get a couple pets in.
Rocky sat down for a minute in his usual sunbathing spot, but since it was a cloudy morning he geared himself up and headed out to do a little exploring instead. Rocky made his way around the main yard checking out anything that caught his interest. When he’d seen all he wanted to see, Rocky made his way to his usual spot and settled down to watch what the rest of the group was up to. After a while I headed over to give him some love. Rocky seemed pretty happy to be getting lots of pets and attention. Maya had a quiet day today, despite the fact that
her group was full of young playful pups. We split she and rocky up
again, although the she did not play,
she took the initiative to explore the entire yard, which she tends to
not do while Rocky, is outdoors with her. Today Maya was mostly happy to
spend her time sniffing and exploring. Maya also found herself
supervising some fun and games that her friends were
getting up to. At one point, Vega the puppy was insistent on getting
Maya to play with her. Maya wasn't going to give in to her puppy
shenanigans and politely decline by sticking her nose in the air and
walking away. She then made her way to my side in the
gravel yard where she gladly accepted pets and cuddles.
Bella and Jake were a bit calmer and quieter than
their previous couple daycare days with us. I suppose 3 days of playing
catches up to them! Bella was
more than happy to spend her outdoor time with her nose to the ground.
She was very excited to see a new gate open to a different yard than
usual. She was quick to hop over and begin motoring around. Some of her
group mates were getting into trouble in the
different yard so I have to bring her back to the regular yard. She
then spent a fair amount of time trying to stick her nose through the
gate and paw at the grass all around it. We'll have to give her another
chance to investigate this yard another time!
Bella could hear dishes inside and made her way to the door where she
politely asked to be let in to check it out. To her disappointment, it
was just s water dish and her lunch wasn't waiting for her quite yet. Jake, too was
pretty relaxed for the first part of his morning
outdoor time. He followed Bella into the new yard and did some brief
investigating before making his way back to his usual yard to sniff and
explore. Vega was begging all of her friends to play and she was very
surprised when Jake gave in to her request. He
began to pounce around with her, hopping left and right and pawing at
her sides. Vega loved this and took it as a cue to zoom off across the
yard. Jake was right on her tail and the pair was quickly accompanied by
Emma. This trio is so fast on their feet.
They zipped around the yard doing lap after lap, leaping over the
picnic table and bolting through the tunnel, not letting anything get in
their way. Jake was pleased with himself for getting involved with some
games. He then chose to break off from the shenanigans
to find Bella and continue exploring with her.
Emma W. knows how to the best of both worlds when it comes to playing and realxing! She tends to walk around with the sweetest look on her face, and stares at you with her angel eyes. She'll wander around slowly with her nose to the ground, minding her own business, until out of no where she leaps away and begins to sprint around the yard as if she has fire under her feet. Emma can really run fast! Her zipping and zooming drew attention to her from group mates, Jake and Vega. Soon enough Emma was the leader of a very fast chase around the yard. She had a look of pure joy in her eyes as her ears flapped in the wind while bounding across the yard. She loved the challenge of outrunning a young puppy as well as a doodle. She took the chase very seriously and motored around without ever looking back. Vega got her at one point by diving under the picnic table, which causes Emma to pause, wondering where she went. Vega leapt out and pounced right on Emma, as if she were saying tag! You're it! Emma didn't mind this at all and took it as an invitation to play around even more. This pair made their way off in the yard on their own, wrestling and running around for quite some time. Emma was very happy to end her time in the yard by my side where she was very pleased to accept pets down her sides and a good scratch under her chin.
Poppy had the best day she has ever had with us, no
joke! I am overall extremely pleased with how well Poppy has been doing
this visit. Today, she got to
go out with an energetic group yet again since she's enjoyed playing so much. One of our newly regular daycare guests, Jemma, joined Poppy’s
group for the day. Jemma is an gorgeous shepherd mix, which
is so open hearted and full of young energy. At
first, Poppy really wasn’t sure about this new youngster. She did a
couple laps around her trying to scope Jemma out from a distance. Poppy
soon realized she couldn’t get a full feel of Jemma from 5 feet away, so
she made her way closer. Jemma, being the darling
she is, flipped on her back and sprawled herself across the ground
allowing Poppy to check her out while showing her she was no harm at
all. Poppy was quick to realize that Jemma was sweet as can be and only
had positive vibes to share. It was from then on
that these two were best friends. Poppy was the one who initiated the
playing, by whacking Jemma on the side with her paw. Jemma was more than
happy to take this as a cue to start goofing around. Despite their size
difference, this duo made a for a wonderful
boxing team. With their hind legs holding them up, and their paws
wrapped around one another, they walked around in circles hugging. Jemma
was the one to topple over, sending Poppy on to her side too. The dup
then began to wiggle around on the ground, gnawing
on each other, covering one another in their slobber. Poppy was the one
to spring up and bound across the yard looking for a chase, of course,
Jemma was right on her tail. This pair continued on running, wrestling,
boxing, and simply enjoying one another’s
company for the entire day. As they tired out, they were happy to make
their way into their kennel for naps, however, the moment they got back
in to the yard for their next outing they were sure to find one another
right off the bat and start up where they
left off. I bet Poppy will be dreaming of Jemma tonight, in hopes that
she is here for daycare tomorrow.
Teddy and Percy can be like two peas in a pod
sometimes. Their natural herding behavior always leads them to one
another in the yard. While they are always
apart of a very playful group, this duo would much rather sprint in
circles around the action instead of getting in on the wrestling,
boxing, and chasing. Teddy and Percy spent the majority of their time
outdoors on opposite sides of a circle, running at the
same pace around whatever games were going on. I was able to get the
duo to break off and chase after one another at one point, which didn’t
last long, but it changed things up! Percy followed me as I sprinted
across the yard saying his name, and he bolted
through the tunnel to try and catch me, as he got closer. Teddy was
trying to herd Percy so he charged after him. The duo did a couple laps
in and out of the tunnel, trying to catch one another. Neither was able
to get to the other so they both gave up and
went back to the action in the further grassy portion of the agility
yard. All the self-induced running this pair does always tires them out.
They were both happy to get back to their kennels where they crashed on
their cots, re-fuelling for their next outing.
Spencer had an absolute blast today along side his
new friend Teddy. Teddy is a pointer lab mix who has been a great
addition to our playful group. Spencer
usually keeps himself occupied in the yard with his nose to the ground,
however today, Teddy was quick to make pals with Spencer and get him
moving. They made fast friends from the second they stepped food in the
yard, sniffing one another overhead to toe.
This quickly led to Teddy pouncing on Spencer, and then flying away
looking for a chase. Spencer was so excited to have a friend show so
much interest in him that he gave in right away. From here on out, the
pair spent the entire group time darting and dashing
around the yard. It is so hard to get photos of Spencer when he is
running fast as his hair makes him look like one big blur. His ears and
fur flow in the wind as he gracefully strides across the yard, however,
it does not come across this way on camera. Spencer
loved having Teddy around to keep him moving. Towards the end of
outdoor time I could see Spencer was running out of steam, as he sprint had turned into a
light jog and then more of a trot. At this point, he was happy to part
ways from Teddy to head over to me for some loving
and attention. After his afternoon nap where he had the opportunity to
recharge his batteries he was quick to meet up with Teddy again ad get
the games going all over again.
Kimi had a nice day today. She started her morning
off with a walk with two new friends, Kodiak and Duke. Duke is an
absolute gentleman, who minded his
own business on the walk keeping her good company. While Kodiak,
another Siberian husky was all over Kimi! He was smitten with her the
entire walk. Constantly brushing up against her, flagging his tail for
her, and occasionally pawing at her side. Kimi wanted
nothing to do with his flirting, as she constantly turned her nose up
to him and carried on without even acknowledging his request to play
around. She was happy to get back to her kennel and see a comfy blanket
lying on the floor. Kimi will rarely lay on a
cot, even if there is a nice one offered to her, just like today, she
chose a blanket over a raised bed. In the yard Kimi was happy to mind
her own business and explore. Numerous of her group mates offered for
her to get in on the action, however she politely
declined all their wishes. Kimi was much happier sniffing around the
yard and hanging out by my side accepting ear scratches while her
group-mates goofed around.
It is lovely to have
Duke back with us, after what seems like forever since we've last seen
him! Duke was thrilled to head out for
a morning walk the moment he got into the back. We got two buddies,
Kodiak and Kimi, to walk along with us. Duke is so great on walks, which
always surprises me considering how much power he could use if he chose
to. Rather, he walks a couple feet ahead of
me keeping a close eye on myself and his friends throughout the whole
walk. Duke tends to break off from the trail every once in a while to
get s good sniff, but he is always sure to make his way right back in
front of me and continue on. In the yard today
duke was pleased to meet so many new friends. He spent his first
portion of his time outdoors politely greeting all his group-mates. He
then ventured off to partake in some serious investigating. Duke was
very interested in a person walking on the other side
of the fence, and tracked them for s while until they head off. His
friends Awesome and Indi then begged him to play, which he briefly gave
in to. Duke enjoyed bounding around the yard on Indi's tail for a moment
or two before spotting me standing alone. He
was fast to motors over to my side and take advantage of my two free
hands. He was more than happy to accept love and attention for the
remainder of his time outdoors. Duke is such a suck, I have no
complaints about this gentle giant nuzzling into me and kissing
me.
