Timbits and Coco had a great day today. He
and his sister really aren’t too sure about this whole snow business. After
some sniffing around, Timbits warmed up to the idea of playing around.
Meanwhile, Coco was still hesitant. She spent a lot of time nuzzling in to me,
asking for some warmth rather than goofing around. After lots of cuddles she
made her way into the yard where she met up with her little brother to join in
on his games. Timbits was having so much fun playing around with Resa. Resa
loves a good chase, and Timbits was more than happy to provide this for her.
Timbits loved zooming around the yard after Resa, tucking his bum and really
motoring ahead. Resa lead him through the tunnel and around a bunch of
obstacles, which ultimately lead him back to Coco. Coco was happy to be
reunited with her brother who was feeling very frisky. The pair had some fun
romping around in the yard, which soon turned into a trio when Marley joined
in. These beagles were happy to be reunited and play around with one another.
After some group games, Timbits broke off to meet a new friend Lucky. Timbits
and Lucky were rather smitten with one another, kissing each other and wiggling
all over each other. The pair played around for a while, while Coco and Marley
had some fun together. When it was time to come inside, the pair was happy to
cuddle up on their stacks of blankets to keep warm and dry off.
It was so nice to have Sammy with us today.
She was very excited to get going on her walk with two young girls, Magic and
Charly. Magic and Charly are full of beans, spending their entire walk inviting
Sammy to play. Sammy was very professional about the task at hand, repeatedly
turning her nose up to the young ones, continuing along the trail very focused.
In the yard, Sammy was pleasantly surprised to see she was apart of a very busy
playful group. Sammy couldn’t decide who she wanted to goof around with, so she
spent a while trotting from dog to dog saying her hellos. She was very happy to
meet up with Ella and play around with her for a bit. The pair loved to gently
paw at one another, then play bow, then take off on a race. They had a lot of
fun doing this and were soon accompanied by other group members. Puppy, Vega,
lead the chase to the agility tunnel where she leapt on top. I was so surprised
to watch Sammy leap up in her footsteps. She balanced on top of the tunnel like
a pro, wandering back and forth until Vega leapt off. Vega and Sammy then
frolicked off across the yard with some of their other mates behind them. Sammy
had a great time participating in all the games as well as supervising the
action when she was tired.
Dougie had an absolute hoot today. We
started our morning off with a great walk with new friend, Ariel. Dougie loved
walking along the trail with his nose to the ground, leading the way with his
strength. He sure is one powerful guy! I felt like I should have had skis on
today as he tugged me through the snow. In the yard Dougie was quick to meet up
with Vega the puppy and the pair became fast friends. Dougie was so fascinated
with her quirky personality and silly behaviors. He raced after her as she led
him through the agility tunnel and looped around the whole yard, over and over.
The pair was so fast on their feet, quickly drawing the attention from their
other group mates to them turning their two-man chase into a whole herd of dogs
bolting around the yard. Dougie loved to be right in on the action. He chose to
broke off with Harvey and goof around with him for a while before meeting back
up with Vega for some more nonsense. Dougie kept himself very busy today,
playing with each and every dog for a short period of time in between his long
play sessions with Vega. He was so tired by the time his main playgroup was
over. Dougie was happy to get back to his kennel where he accepted some yummy
treats before curling up on a cot to nap.
Finnigan had a five star day, as usual. He
was so excited to get out on his walk with mates, Maya and Korvo. He was very
investigative of the snow throughout the entire walk, sticking pretty close by
as he buried his nose in the deeper patches along the trail. Finn was so
excited to get in the yard and see some of his great friends in for boarding
and daycare. Finnigan was beaming when he spotted Harvey dancing and prancing
around the yard, and quickly made his way over to him to say hello. Harvey and
Finn were very fast to re-connect and light the spark that they lit a couple
weeks ago. These two are a great pair; they both love to wrestle around (in the
mud I might add) as well as chase each other all over the yard, and play with
toys. They kept one another so busy, rolling around on top of each other and
then getting up and zooming in circles around the yard. Another one of
Finnigan's friends, Kodi, spotted the fun action and decided to join in too.
Finnigan, Harvey, and Kodi were a trio made in heaven. These three have the
exact same play styles and love for the dirt, making their games absolutely
filthy and fun. Finnigan loved racing around the yard in circles with these
two, and then stopping to wrestle around. Finnigan was also happy to have Vega
join in on the fun and soon became great buddies with her. I can tell that Finn
is surprised at how fast Vega is growing and how strong she is getting. She found
a toy today, and he thought he could snatch it from her with no problem but
little Vega put up a great fight, tugging very hard. Finn was shocked to have
such competition, and was even more shocked when Harvey joined in too. It was a
good tug match, Finn vs Harvey vs Vega, which Finnigan ended up winning. After
chewing on the soggy rope toy for a bit, he decided to bring it inside and into
his kennel which he was very proud about.
Boris and Tasha were so excited to be back
this morning and even more excited when they saw Max and Sadie out in the yard
during their first outing. These four have grown a very close bond and love to
get a little rough and burn out some energy when together. It was a slow start
to their group; I think they were all amused by the wet snow and took their
time roaming the yard and getting their noses wet. I tried to entice them to
chase me but to no avail. Then out of nowhere Tasha got the zoomies and darted
over to Max to play. Immediately Max’s ears and tail perked up and he accepted
her offer to wrestle. All this commotion got the attention of Boris and he
quickly ran over to join. Both Tasha and Boris got up on their hind legs to
wrestle one another, their signature move! At first Sadie didn’t care to join
but sure enough all the excitement and noises got her going and before I knew
it they were all running laps around me in the yard! Back inside, Max and Sadie
curled up together on their cot while Boris and Tasha relaxed while chewing
their lunchtime bone; sounds like a perfect afternoon to me!
Bauer, the big friendly giant came in this
morning and greeted us with a great big smile as he walked in the front door.
He stayed up front with us for the next little bit as we gave him his extra
attention and time to settle in. Bauer sat in between my legs as I brushed his
silky fur; he loves to get brushed and could have sat there all morning with me
but it was time to get outside to say hello to the others. Today Bauer got to
meet two ladies out in the yard both named Chloe. Chloe the boxer as we all
know by now is the sweet little toy-crazy girl who knows how to have a good
time out in the yard. Bauer followed behind me closely as we roamed the yard
and collect toys for Chloe to play with. He is such a sweet boy and happily
said hello to everyone as he passed by but didn’t let himself get too far away
from me since he was getting lots of attention and extra head rubs by following
me around! Today Chloe was very intrigued by the blue pool; perhaps it was the
puddle of water and snow that was collecting at the bottom that got her
attention. She jumped right in and pawed away as if she was trying to find a
toy in there. In fact, she spent most of her time in that pool today curious to
see what she could find. Finally I was able to entice her away by flinging the
rope toy around in my hand. That got her attention real quick and quickly
snatched it away from my hands. She held this in her mouth as she weaved in and
out around Bauer and the other Chloe. When I would stop to cuddle Bauer, she would
run over and drop the rope toy by my feet to see if I could get it away from
her. I know this game all to well, as I reached down to pick it up, she quickly
swooped in and took it back then wiggled her bum in excitement. We played this
game for the rest of our time outside but I was happy to have Bauer keep me
company as we played with little Chloe!
