Bruno just loves the snow! Every few steps he takes, unless he is already actively engaged in a game of chase with his pal Mac, he will take some time to roll onto his back to get all covered in snow and then hop back up and shake it off! He had such a fun time with Mac this afternoon, running and rolling all over the place as they chased and followed each other around. He also had a nice walk with his other friend Nanook to start the day and the two of them share a great love of snow. Bruno loves hopping in all the snowbanks and burying himself in the snow as much as possible. Nanook spent lots of time doing his favourite activity, rolling in the cool snow! He also got to run around and play with two other cuties, Apple and Sky.
Apple and Sky have settled in quite nicely here! They are loving being out in the yard with the other dogs and especially love being around the staff because they get lots of love from each of us. They're just too cute to resist petting them any time they run over to see you. This won't stop them from trying to join in on any chase or pouncing games that might be going on in the yard.
Once in the playroom, everyone was in on the game of chase that Bruno and Mac had started. Sky was acting as the referee, making sure to keep all players happy and safe while the match was happening. Apple joined right in, making sure to show off to her brother!
Xiao Bao was quite happy to get out on the path this morning! He had a nice walk with his fellow jacket wearing bud Mac, and the two of them trudged through the snow together. Xiao Bao was pretty interested in getting Julie to play with him outside but she decided to keep things calm this afternoon. He followed her around just about everywhere she went in the yard and then decided to do a bit of exploring on his own in the other part of the yard. When he saw me though, he became more interested in being around me than anything else in the yard so we snuggled for a bit :). Nanook was of course just too happy to be out in the snow! I can't get over how much he loves it, that he NEEDS to roll and slide his fluffy fur all over it while he's on walks too! Kouza just loves to sing her heart out when she is outside. Any time the other dogs are around her she needs to sing at the top of her lungs to them to show them how good a singer she is. She is such an impressive sniffer, she just walks all around the yard, sniffing every nook and cranny that she comes across. Kanelle took some time to be outside and enjoy the nice cool breeze after lounging in the comfort of the grooming room in the morning. It may be a little slippery in some parts of the yard but Kanelle doesn't let that stop her from making her way around to check things out. I helped her around the yard, making sure she didn't get herself stuck in any snow and the two of us got to have some nice close company wandering around together! :).
Oh Miss. Molly! She is an official treasure finder in the yard and is always good at discovering where all the hidden toys are. Today she was able to find herself a nice rope toy AND a Kong to of course put on the ground and roll all over. She and another lady named Phoebe tugged around with the rope toy for a little while but then Phoebe became occupied with other things and left Molly to have the toy all to herself! Duke had a grand ole time with his bud Kane, the two barely left each others side almost all of outside time. They were running all over the place, being big chatterboxes together. They were kind enough to let Syrus and Finnigan join in on their game of chase so there would just be a huge blur of dogs running back and fourth between yards. It was almost becoming difficult to stay out of their way as they were too excited that they almost knocked me over a few times! Finnegan would occasionally go off by himself to play with whatever toy Molly didn't have at that moment, and thankfully his pal Magic came over to play with him for a little bit too! He was excited to get to play with all the big boys and would trail along after them as they ran from yard to yard. He managed to keep a safe enough distance from all the wrestling though and instead decided that Magic was a better size match for him, so they played around for a little while!
Bella was very playful this afternoon! She was practically joined at the hip with one of her lady friends Brenyn! They wrestled and danced around with each other until they were both pretty pooped so then they each decided to just sniff around the yard for the last bit of outside time. Oakley was so excited to see me when I got outside with her today! I hadn't seen her in what feels like forever so it was quite the reunion :). She spent a good while sitting by my side loving all the ear petting she was getting from me but then eventually left to go play with her friend Maverick who was begging her to play with him! Maverick also ran around quite a bit with another little blonde lady named Merida and then of course Shyla just had to join in on all the fun! They were bouncing from yard to yard, having a great time together. They then all went off to do some yard sniffing and Maverick made sure to check out the agility tunnel as he passed by.
Max, Sadie
Max and Sadie went out for a nice walk this afternoon together. The two of them make a great pair for trudging through the deep snow and Sadie has seemed to settle into the Canadian lifestyle quite nicely! Max is so excited, when he sees that he's going into the playroom with his sister he just starts to freak out! The minute the two of them get in there they just let loose and its practically Wrestlemania in there! The two of them seem to absolutely adore each other and clearly enjoy each others company so much.
CATS
Missy: Missy came out of her kennel this morning to first enjoy some time on the sunny windowsill! She then made her way over to the big cat tree to hangout in one of the nooks and stayed put there for the majority of the afternoon.
Marley: Marley just loves to sit on the windowsill and stare into the bright sunny day. He likes to hangout with his pal Aquinas in the cattery and the two of them share the cat tree while they're out. He loves when we come to visit and always comes running over for attention and love. He has such pretty soft fur, its no chore to pet him for a while!
Aquinas: Aquinas was very happy to see me when I went into the cattery this afternoon. He was rubbing his head all over mine and was getting lots of petting from me! After he did his little photo shoot for me, he hopped out of his kennel and went to hangout with his friend Marley in the rest of the cattery.
Chief: Mr.Chief has a mild obsession with what he believes is HIS cat tree. He would lay in the hammock on the tree for the rest of his life if he could have his food delivered to him there. I think he was meant to live on a beach somewhere in a nice hammock but unfortunately no such cat place exists yet so he is fine settling for his indoor, toasty cat tree hammock!
