We are down to four cats in the cat room now and these four get along great with each other. They don't mind sharing the cat tree with one another, and stay out of each other's way in the room. When I walked in this morning, Rhapsody was hanging out in the cabinet, watching the other cats and taking a snooze. Aquinas was in the cubbie in the tree, having a nap that ended once I took a photo of him. He didn't mind. He thought it was time he got up and checked the room for any changes. He enjoyed his breakfast and said hello to Rhapsody and then returned to the cubby for another long nap. Chief was being his usual self, friendly as ever in the room. He said hello to Rhapsy and Aquinas and then jumped in the tree as well, joining Aquinas. Chief also loves to pose for some handsome photos.
Missy is a little more reserved than the other kitties, but that's okay. She's such a beautiful girl. She takes the cutest photos and always purrs when I pet her behind her ears. Today she got a special fleecy pink blanket that made her feel like a princess. She snuggled in it all day while the other cats went along and explored the room. Her favorite time to come out is at night, and sit at the window and watch all the things happening in the world outside.
Spencer and Dawson had a ton of fun in the snow together. Bright and early in the morning, Dawson walked with Abby and Spencer walked with Magic. When it was time to go outside a bit later, Spencer was very excited to be out in the snow. He was leaping around the snow banks, and popping his nose into holes in the snow. After doing that it looked like he had a beard made of snow! He enjoyed playing Tasha; they leaped onto each others backs and pounced at each other. When Dawson, who was previously just exploring around the yard, saw how much fun Spencer was having with Tasha, he quickly ran over as well. He began pouncing at the two dogs, and got them even more excited to play. Eventually Tasha wandered off, and Spencer and Dawson were left playing together. From that moment, they never stopped spending time with each other and were always playing!
Syrus was full of energy today. In the morning, he went for a walk on the snowy trails with his pal Millie. They had so much fun pouncing through the deep snow. A little while later, he seemed to be super excited to go outside and greet his friends. He let out little howls of excitement as I let him outside. While greeting his friends, he would quickly give them a sniff, then burst into a run- with hopes that his friends would follow behind. Almost every time they did, and this created a great game of chase. He had all of his doggy friends in his group chasing behind him. They cut corners fast- which sprayed snow everywhere. Syrus loved it and his nose was always covered in snow. Needless to say he definitely had fun today!
Boris and Tasha were playing endlessly today. In the morning, they began their day by going on a walk together. Boris was full of energy and ready to play before he could even get out the door. He noticed Syrus sprinting around the yard and quickly ran after him. Moments later, the whole group was chasing around too. I noticed that he had a ton of fun playing with his friend Millie. They would always chase each other then pounce and knock off each other. Meanwhile, Tasha was quite playful too. She had a great time playing with her friends Spencer and Dawson. They were all pouncing and tumbling around.
Millie had a great time with friends today. In the morning, she got all suited up to go outside in the snow for her walk. She walked with her friend Syrus. They both had a wonderful time together, and really enjoyed pouncing through the snowy trails. When she first got outside for group time, she decided to take the time to sniff and greet all of her friends. She and Boris almost instantly clicked, and they began to play together. Boris got Millie pumped up and chased her around. She would then turn and start chasing him, and when she caught up to him she would start pouncing on him. Boris pawed Millie off, then they resumed chasing each other.
Roobee and Riley were both definitely up for playing today. In the morning, they started their day with a walk on the trails with Tatoo. It was a great time for all three dogs! I noticed that Riley was pouncing around as soon as they got outside, and Roobee was watching while barking. Riley ran at full speed towards Roobee and pounced at her, then switched directions. This got Roobee quite excited so she started to follow Riley as he ran around. Riley enjoyed running from one end of the yard to the other. Whenever their doggy friends in the group would start playing, Roobee barked to them with excitement.
Brutus seemed to be up for exploring today. He enjoyed a relaxing morning, and took his time making his way through the trails on his walk on the snowy field. A little while later, he went out for his outdoor play rotation. As soon as he was in the yard, he first greeted all of his friends. Then he began exploring around the yard. He seemed to like to sniff around in fresh patches of snow, as well as little holes in the snow. He also watched Riley and Roobee playing, and barked as they ran around. He looked at me and howled, then walked his way over to me. I gave him a big cuddle!
Bentley had a great time in the powdery white snow today. On his walk with two new friends Caleigh and Shaiya, he enjoyed occasionally stopping to get a good roll in the snow. He made sure his long fur was covered in snow before resuming the walk. He also occasionally stopped to pounce at one of the girls. A little while later, it was time for him to go outside. Bentley pranced around in the snow some more in the yard. He really seemed to enjoy cuddles and playing with his two friends, Caleigh and Shaiya.
Jax got to start off his day just right with a bath. When he
was finished he was fluffier than ever and was ready to show off to all his
pals outside. He loves to play in the snow and as hard as I tried to get him
not to roll around in it and get dirty it was hard considering how playful he
is. He kept on digging his face in then sliding his body in it right after
because I called him over to get up. He later started playing tag with Duke and
Molly around the yard. Jax was leading them along and was trying to see just how
fast they could go before they caught up to him.
Molly had so much energy today just like usual. Whenever I’m
with her outside she’s never too shy to jump up and say hello to me a hundred
times before going to play with the other dogs. She was really interested in
Duke and got him in a playful mood. After she was bouncing around him she got
him to chase her and play tag with Jax as well. They were both having a blast.
She took a break to roll around in the snow on her back with her feet in the
air to cool off. As she was doing this she got Oliver and Jax’s attention
because they ran up and started barking at her with joy. Molly loved it and got
up right after to continue playing with them.
Duke was quiet at first in the yard, running from one
end of the fence to the other, scoping everything out. But next thing I knew he
was filled with excited and was running around with Molly and Jax. The three of
them were playing the entire time and Duke had the biggest grin on his face.
Little Merida even got his attention and he started chasing her around for a
bit, but she was way too fast for Duke; he couldn’t keep up with her
and ran out of breath. Duke had to take a minute to calm down and lay right
in the fluffy snow where he plopped his face in and stuck his tongue out to eat
it. When the others ran up to get him to start playing again, he jumped up and
was ready as ever.
Oliver had such a nice time today. He’s so calm and never
gets too wound up in the yard but always manages to have a really nice time. He
was wandering around going up to each dog and sniffing them before moving on to
the next one. I called him over to me and he came running into my arms and gave
me lots of kisses. Oliver loves people and being cuddled. I think he liked how
I was warming him up too since he seemed a little cold. He then ran over to see
Molly who he was with most of the time outside. He would follow her wherever
she went and even played with her for a bit until she started to play tag and
that’s when Oliver backed out and came back to see me.
Nanook was having such a fun day today. Sometimes he doesn’t
like going outside and just wants to stay in his kennel and sleep, but today he
was at the door eagerly waiting to go outside with the rest of the pups. He
loves the snow and always heads for the deep snow first; it’s his favorite when
it goes past his legs, it’s like an adventure. He then headed back to where
all the dogs were playing where he found a big fluffy pile of snow that he
started to roll around in. It’s so funny watching him because he blends in to
the white so much you can barely see that he’s there!
Xiao Bao ran outside and headed to the yard with all the
dogs in a big group. He socialized with everyone before he started to play a
little game of tag with Nanook. Nanook was the one that started it but Xiao Bao
had no problem whatsoever to join in and chase him. Xiao Bao got cold really
fast though and ran up to me shortly after to be picked up. I held him in my
arms as he warmed up. He peeked his head in, wondering if he should go through it or not but decided not to.
Tennya was all about playing today. She was so full of
energy and didn’t stop moving pretty much the entire time she was outside. At
first in the yard she started bouncing around every one seeing which dogs would
want to play with her. After finding them she started a game of tag where she
ran in circles and went in and out of the agility tunnel as little Mac and a
couple other dogs chased her. She then hopped right in the snow where she
buried her face and took a bite of it for something to cool off with. When she
was done with that, she ran over to me where she kept on hopping up with her
tongue hanging out of her mouth with joy as if she wanted me to chase her. I
led her towards the other dogs to get their attention so they could take my
place.
Kouza’s such a sweet girl. Whenever she’s outside instead of
playing she explores the yard on her own and always has her nose glued to the
ground. She’s never too shy to speak up if other dogs get in her way, she just lifts
her face up to the sky and barks. I called her over to me and got her to do a
few tricks for some treats. It’s her favorite thing to do since she doesn’t
like to play much outside. After I give her treats she doesn’t leave me alone and
stays with me the whole time right by my side.
Beanie and Poochio wandered around watching all the dogs
play. They didn’t play too much themselves but whenever a dog came up to one of
them they weren’t too shy to run around with them for a bit in the yard before
coming back to each other. They didn’t separate too often and if they did they’d
always come back to each other quickly. Beanie started following the dogs around as they
played as Poochio stayed back to keep an eye on him.
Timbits always has a blast outside with all the dogs, he’s
always the first one out and the last one to come in. I usually have to chase
him around the yard and pick him up too, it’s the only way he comes inside. Today
he was playing mostly with his sister. They were wrestling and chasing each
other the entire time that by the time they got back in their kennel, Timbits
took a long nap. He was all rested up for his enhanced I did later in the day. I took him up front where I tried to get him to do all the basic commands with
me. He knows sit so well that I didn’t even have to say it a couple times and
just motioned to him and he listened. Ashley and I sat across the room from
each other and worked on recall with him. He’s okay at coming when you call him
if he isn’t too distracted by the other person holding up treats but we are
still trying to get him to learn to stay in his place as we walk away. Since he
has so much energy it’s hard for him to stay in one place. The walk went
well and he’s very good at waiting for you and going at your pace during it, he’s
also very good at waiting at doorways and sitting before going through.
