I entered the cattery to have a visit with Misty since it was her turn to have the run of the room. I had to do a bit of a search before I found her curled up asleep in her cubby. Missy raised her head to acknowledge me then curled back up. Not wanting to disturb her I left her to her nap. A little while later I headed in to let Aquinas and Marley out for their turn. Both were pretty excited. As soon as I opened his door, Marley did a couple stretches, hopped out then made a beeline for the windowsill. He was happy to receive some pets but was very intently focusing on the world outside. Aquinas continued to hang out in his cubby. He rubbed against the side then gave me a pointed look. I quickly went over to give him some pets and scratches. Once they had enough attention I headed out. A few hours later I came to let Chief out for his turn. Surprisingly he didn't leap out as soon as I opened his door. He took a moment to have some of his breakfast and drink. That done he hopped out and came over to me to rub against my legs. I bent down to give him lots of pets. Chief then leaped up into the cat tree and settled himself in the hammock.
Groups
The small dog group went trotting out toward the far yard, and along the way Bruno stopped to greet Maya. He marched up to her and gave her the once over. Bruno was smitten by Maya and soon he was trying to get her to play. The feeling was mutual and soon they were off racing to the far yard. Apple and Sky also headed out to the far yard but they were on a mission to explore everything and see what had changed since the last time they were here. After he had seen all he wanted to see, Sky made his way over to me for some pets and cuddles. Apple was still determined to check everything out, but when she saw her brother getting love she came trotting over wanting some attention of her own. Bruno and Maya took a break from racing around together, and Maya went off to check out all the areas Apple and Sky had been looking at. Meanwhile, Bruno went to have a good roll in the snow. When he got up from the snow Bruno caught a scent on the wind which kept his attention for some time, trying to figure out what it was. He followed his nose around the yard before going back to rolling in the snow.
Next up was another group of littles. As we headed out the door I was stopped by Kouza who wanted some pets before she headed out. Xiao Bao started wandering around trying to decide what to do. He met up with Tennya and ended up following her as she went trotting out further into the yard. Nanook is still loving the snow. He went for a stroll around the yard on the lookout to find the perfect spot to roll in the snow. It didn't take him too long and he rolled as if he was attempting to be one with the snow. Xiao Bao parted ways with Tennya when he realized she was just heading out to do some exploring. He then turned to watch his good friend Nanook in the snow. I think Xiao Bao was waiting for Nanook to be done so they could run around together. Xiao Bao couldn't wait, so he came over to me for some attention, and I scooped him up for a good cuddle. By the time I put him down, Nanook was done in the snow and the two boys went wandering off together across the yard. Tennya, once done checking out the shade covered main yard, made her way out to the far, sunny yard. Her explorations caught the eye of Nanook, who then went over to join her. As they went around the yard Nanook found himself another good rolling spot and stopped exploring to roll some more. Kouza was enjoying going around checking things out. She then came and planted herself near me so she could catch some interesting smells in the breeze while also receiving some bum scratches.
Issy and Mocha were a part of the next group. They were both quick to head out to do some exploring in the snow. Brokk distracted Mocha from her explorations when he came to greet her. Issy made her way out to the far yard where she continued to follow her nose under the sunshine. She eventually found a spot that was apparently perfect for some snow kicking. When Issy had had enough fun kicking the snow she went back to exploring. Issy's big kicks caught Merida's attention, and Merida made her way over to join Issy. Mocha finally made her way out to the far yard and it looked like she had a particular destination in mind. Shortly after, Mocha threw herself to the ground and rolled around, loving the cool snow on her back. Once she had covered almost her whole back with snow, she sprung up and was ready to play. Brokk went bouncing over ready to play with her. They bounced around a bit but neither wanted to make the first move and agreed on a playdate raincheck. Issy had left Merida to go and check out another part of the yard. She then found herself being joined by Ricky. The two then set out to do some exploring together.
The last group of the morning were full of energy and couldn't wait to get outside. Molly set out to find herself a toy. She was soon successful and went off to to show everyone. The others didn't seem to notice as they were all busy racing around between the main yard and the agility yard. As soon as they got outside, Duke took off running. He soon had Syrus, Percy and Finnigan on his heels in a fast-paced game of chase. It wasn't long before Dawson was bouncing along, excited to join them. Molly and I headed out to the agility yard for a change of scenery. While we headed out, Molly finally got her wish and some of the other dogs noticed she had a toy. Percy and Finnigan left Duke and went running after her, wanting the toy. Dawson wondering what they were up to made his way over to check it out. Duke and Syrus decided to take a break and followed their noses around the yard, making sure to check everything out thoroughly. After playing keep-away with her friends, Molly claimed her victory by rolling in the snow, on top of her toy. Accepting defeat, Finnigan went running off with Phoebe while Percy and Dawson went off to do some exploring. Duke spotted Molly rolling around and it looked like she was having fun! When he realized she had a toy, he stood waiting for an opportunity to steal it. The opportunity never arose, though, and Molly remained the proud owner of her toy. When she was done rolling, Molly brought her toy over to me so that I could throw it. She went chasing after it and snatched it up over and over. The others became aware of our game and she soon found herself with Phoebe, Duke, Finnegan and Dawson on her tail. Molly caught the toy almost each time, it was a close game! Dawson swooped in for the steal a few times, and so it was him running around with Molly, Phoebe and Percy on his tail. After a little while Syrus and Duke decided to join in the chase as well. By the time Dawson dropped the toy and Molly snatched it up once more, Finnigan had also joined in. The group switched back to chasing Molly around. They decided to go running out to the main yard. When the group got to the main yard, Finnigan went to greet Nick and was very happy to see him. They ran and bounced around together like two peas in a pod.
