Cattery

Ziggy just arrived and he was happy to do a quick exploration of the room before he settled down on the shelf. Later, when I went in to visit, Ziggy appreciated some pets and cuddles. Afterwards it was time for Missy to come out. She was happily curled up in her cubby. When I opened the door she did a bit of rolling around before deciding that she didn't want to get up right then. Missy had spent her morning in the windowsill watching the world go by and I guess now it was nap time. A little while later it was Chief and Drew's turn out in the room. Both were quick to leave their cubbies. Chief hopped onto the chair where he ended up deciding to hang out once he realized he could see out the window from where he was. Drew made his way over to one of the carriers where he then spent quite some time rubbing up against it. When it didn't give him pets he came and rubbed against my legs.

Groups

The first group of the morning couldn't wait to get outside and they all had a great time. As soon as their feet touched the snow, Maverick and Shyla were off ripping around the yard. Max was very excited to meet the new guy, Rylee, and was inviting him to play right away, but Rylee needed some time to explore the yard before getting too silly. Max was happy to wait and he tagged along after Rylee, patiently exploring and waiting for his chance to issue another invitation. Maverick took a break from running with Shyla to introduce himself to Rylee and then went racing off once more.  Once Maverick was gone, Max asked Rylee to play again and the two of them had fun bouncing around. Shyla finally slowed down and decided to hang out with Brenyn and Scarlett for a bit.
Everyone moved on to the other yards once I opened the gates. The new space gave Shyla and Maverick a second wind: Shyla went to run with Merida, while Maverick watched from the sidelines with Scarlett until he went to join the runners. Shyla and Merida were running from yard to yard with Maverick on their tails until Merida decided to take a break and then it was just Shyla and Maverick again. Max and Rylee stayed together for the entire group time, whether they were just exploring or playing.

Bandit was the new guy in the next group and he fit in right away. He moved around quite a bit, introducing himself to the different dogs and watching them play. Finnegan and Glo jumped right into play mode and had a great time since they were both bursting with energy and raced around the yards. Bandit hung out with Tasha, Boris and Sadie as they moved around the yard exploring, until they all headed out to do their own thing. Tasha was happily having a me-moment, exploring by herself in a corner of the yard when Bandit, Sadie and Sky all came to join her in her corner. Tasha was feeling a bit crowded and moved to another part of the yard. Sadie wanted Bandit to play with her, but he was playing with Finnegan so she settled down with a bone. She saw Glo free and left the bone, racing off to join her. Boris was thrilled to see the bone free and settled down for a good chew until Boris spotted the bone Sadie had abandoned. He was quite happy to have a chance to have a good chew on it until his mom came over and told him it was time to leave the bone and play for a while. Sadie and Glo soon found themselves being joined by Sally and Finnegan. The four of them were soon having a blast racing around the yard. They were having so much fun that Bandit joined them as well. After a while we moved back to the agility yard and everyone settled down to do some more exploring. Finnegan a frisbee that he was quite happy to go settle down with. Boris was quite interested in the Frisbee but Finnegan wasn’t sharing!
Next up were the little guys. Coco and Timbits were quick to race off and start wrestling. Jake and Bella had to first see what everyone was up to, come and say hello to me, and then they started racing around the yard. Miko did a tour of the yard in search of the perfect spot to rub his face on the snow. The spot he ended up picking looked a little rough, but he seemed to enjoy it. Coco and Timbits continued to race around and wrestle on their own until Jake joined them. Miko finished rolling, gave himself a good shake, then went charging after them. The four of them ran out to the far yard to continue playing. Bella was having a quieter day today and although she followed the other dogs into the yard, she went off to do some exploring around the fence. Jake is a good brother and decided to leave the others to go and join Bella. Coco, Timbits and Miko continued to play. The beagles were soon distracted by their noses and stopped to check out a smell that caught their attention. Miko was quite happy to go back to exploring and eventually, rolling in the exact same spot he’d been rolling in at the start of group.

Macie is now officially in love with Justice. She couldn’t wait to take up where they’d left off during their last play session, but Justice had other things on his mind at first. Justice had to be convinced that I did not actually have any treats in my pocket before he could concentrate on Macie, but when he did come to terms with my empty hands and pockets, he went running off with Macie. They ran from yard to yard with a little wrestling thrown in here and there.

Enhanced

Boris is definitely starting to know when it's time for training. As soon as we got to the playroom he sat on his own and waited. We started with some 'sits' and 'down's then moved onto some recall work. He's doing really well, although he still wants you to lure him into the down. His recalls are very impressive. I decided to up the level and put him in a stay then call him. Boris let me get a fair distance away before he wanted to break it so we practiced that for a while. We then moved on to some focus work.
Tasha loves her special attention time and is equally impressed with the extra treats she gets for being such a good girl.

Max was very eager to start working for some treat. We made our way to the playroom. I got him to do some 'sits' and 'downs'. With Max focused, we moved on to some recall work. He continued to stay focused and was quick to follow the commands. I was quite impressed with how quickly he came even while distracted. Next I decided to do a little focus work, which he picked up on rather quickly. Wanting the day to end with some extra fun, I decided to play a game. Max had to sit and wait while I threw treats away. He couldn't go get them until I told him he could. Max did very well although I set him up for success by holding his collar at first.
