Cattery

Missy was enjoying having her turn around the room when I walked in. She was hanging out on the chair watching me. Missy then jumped off to race over to the cat tree, which she then climbed. When she had reached the second highest level, she sat and waited for me to give her some pets. After Missy I went to see what Ziggy was up to. I found him hanging out on the shelf of his cubby. Ziggy was happy to get some pets before I left him to his business. Chief was sitting quite patiently in his cubby waiting for it to be his turn. When I let him out he was quick to jump down and rub himself against my legs. Chief then ran off to climb the cat tree. He rubbed against it a bit before demanding some attention.

Groups

The littles got to be the first group of the morning and boy were they excited to get outside! Miko, Merlin, Merida and Maya all ended up meeting up in the main yard. They then spent some time checking one another over before parting ways to see the other dogs. Maya went running over to see what Mac and Brenyn were up to while Merlin went to go and see Ginger. Merlin was delighted when Ginger started bouncing around with him. Pearl went and joined them, but after a quick hello, her attentions turned to the interesting smells of the nearby fence. Lola was curious about what Pearl was checking out and headed over to investigate too. Maya, Mac, and Brenyn started to run around together while Lola took a break from following Pearl around to just hang out by me and watch the rest of the group as they went about their business. Merlin and Ginger made their way over to the fence to do a little exploring together. When they got there Merlin met up with Miko, and soon enough Miko had convinced Merlin to play! In another part of the yard Mac and Maya were still having a great time playing together. I made my way over towards them and Miko decided to tag along. As we approached Mac and Maya, Miko got a case of the zoomies and bounced over to see if Pearl wanted to join him. Pearl was very busy following her nose around the yard with Merlin, so Miko moved on to see if Ginger was ready for some play time. She took her time before starting to bounce around, at which point Merlin also jumped into the fun. Ginger tagged out of the play session to take a little break, leaving Merlin and Miko to run and wrestle together. Miko then noticed Pearl as she moseyed along and couldn't resist running over to see if she wanted to join the fun. Lola, who was relaxing by the fence, cheered Miko and Pearl on as the bounced around the yard. Miko let Pearl go back to hanging out with Lola and went to see what Merida was up to. The pair finished off play time by running like cheetahs all around the yard!

The next group was ready to play from the get go. Molly and Jack are both super excited to be back at Tails and Trails! The pair started to rip around the yard as soon as their feet touched the snow. Ripley was happy to have some more friends to play with and took off running after Jack and Molly. Bandit stood watching Ripley, Jack, and Molly race around, but wasn't quite sure about joining in just yet. Jack ended up running over to check on him, and Bandit decided it was time to jump into the action. Sadie, who had been checking out the main yard, finally decided to join us. Ripley left the goldens to go and run around with Sadie for a bit. It wasn't long before Sadie and Ripley decided to run along with Molly and Jack. A little while later, the running took a pause when Molly found herself a toy. She brought it over to me to start a game of fetch while Jack bounced around near by. Meanwhile, Sadie was wandering the yard with her nose to the ground, taking it all in. She noticed that the game of fetch looked fun, and decided to join in! On the other side of the yard, Bandit decided to take a bit of break and go have a visit with Kinsey. He was soon back to running around after Molly and Jack once he had had his fair share of snuggles.

The next group was full of beans! They all went running into the agility yard where some did a few laps while some slowed down to have a look around. Shenzi had noticed Scarlett, who she had never met before, and had to make sure to say hello. Kaos, Maverick and Glory were off ripping around in one part of the yard while Bennie and Shyla were racing around in another. Percy couldn't quite decide what group he wanted to run with, so he ran between the two of them. After a little while, Maverick headed off to do a little exploring leaving, Kaos and Glory to play among themselves. They didn't seem to mind and continued to have a great time. Shyla and Bennie kept on running, having a blast, with Percy tagging along acting as race referee. Shenzi wasn't sure who she wanted to play with at that very moment and so decided to do a little exploring while watching everyone's antics. When Glory, Kaos, Shyla and Percy all met up, Shenzi was quick to head over to join her friends. Bennie found himself without a play partner and turned his sights on Shenzi. It was pretty cute watching him play bow and bounce around her. Shyla and Percy could only stay still for so long and so the two of them went running off together. Maverick was also still full of energy and ready to play. He went running over to Kane to see about starting up a game of chase. The boys weren't alone long, when Scarlett joined them. As Maverick and Kane went racing off, Scarlett noticed Kaos, and the girls chased each other around for a little while. Meanwhile, Maverick was racing around with Kane until Bennie bounced in. Bennie was determined to play with Maverick, and so he play-bowed and bounced until Maverick and Kane took him up on his offer and started to run around. Shenzi watched as the boys ran, and decided to take off, chasing after them as fast as she could! Percy hopped in to join the group as they ran, and eventually pretty much all of them were running together! Bennie, Maverick, Shyla, Percy, Brokk, Kaos and Scarlett made a fantastic ball of energy!

Next up was the quieter group of the day. As the group made their way to the agility yard, Mocha stopped to say hello to Casey and Rylee. As they were saying their hellos, Kelly and Rupert wandered over as well. Shortly afterwards, they disbanded and headed out to do some independent exploring. Issy was a little later to the party, but was happy to just be in everyone's company. Kelly did a short tour of the yard before making her way over to me for some pets and cuddles. Casey, seeing her sister getting love, came over to get some for herself. When they were both satisfied they headed out to walk around together. In another part of the yard, Mocha was enjoying exploring along the fence line. Rupert wondered what she was looking at and, made his way over to check it out as well. When she was done with the fence, Mocha set out to do some exploring in the snow. Issy, as per usual, barely lifted her nose from the snow as she went all around the yard. Mocha took a bit of a break from exploring when she met up with Mocho. They were pretty cute to watch. Rupert and Kelly also ended up meeting up. Kelly branched off from Rupert to see if she could join Issy's explorations. Mocha left Mocho to go continue exploring on her own, but saw Issy following her nose and decided to join her. Casey wanted some more pets and so headed back my way for just that. She then spotted Kelly looking at something over by the lounge so Casey left me and went to join her sister. Rupert found himself a toy and he was quite excited and soon wanted to play some fetch. Since he can't be too crazy, we played some very low key fetch. Mocha had apparently had enough fun exploring, she made her way over to me for some pets and attention.

Macie couldn't wait to get outside with Justice and they ran around right away and did a little wrestling. Macie and Justice went racing out to the agility yard. When they got there, Macie switched gears and took a few minutes to sniff around the yard. She set off with her nose to the ground, determined to see everything she could. Macie eventually took a break and came over for a visit and some bum scratches. I then decided it would be fun to try and get a picture of Macie and Justice sitting together. While the sitting part was pretty easy, getting Macie to look at the camera was another story!

Today I decided to do a little one on one training with Max. He was pretty excited to get outside and start racing around so I let him have fun and let a little energy out before we started to focus. We then made our way out to the agility yard where Max set out to do a little exploring. I called him over and he was quite quick at stopping what he was doing to make his way over. I did this a couple times to practice his recall in a distracted environment. Max was then ready to play some more so we had some fun wrestling. To do some work on him calming down when too excited, I got him to 'sit' and 'wait' until I had taken a picture. Then we went back to playing.
Back inside, Susan and Kinsey did some training with both Sadie and Max in the playroom. They worked on having each of the dogs perform each of their commands without being too distracted by each other. They practiced focusing and listening when they were playing, as well as being patient until it was time for the next command. They each did very well, and are very smart dogs who love to learn!
