Enhanced
Boris has become quite the expert at walking on a leash. He knows to sit down every time we get to a door or any time I stop walking. Today we practiced 'staying' once Boris was in a sitting position, and he's getting better and better at sitting for longer periods of time. We also worked on his down command, which he has almost perfected. He has also gotten better at paying attention when we are walking and never misses any sharp turns or sudden stops. After working a bit more on his commands, we headed back inside with Boris sitting quickly at every doorway we came across.
Once we were back in their kennel, Tasha was happy to sit and lay down for some treats, while Boris waited patiently. Both of them are getting better at keeping all four feet on the ground instead of jumping up. After I had used up my treats, we cuddled for a bit and then Boris and Tasha laid down for a nap.

Cats
It was lazy day in the cat room. Missy was napping on her blankets and when I walked over to say hello, she got up, stretched and curled herself up in an even tighter ball than before. I rubbed her ears a bit and Missy purred the entire time. She rolled onto her back and started washing her ears, before stretching all four feet and her toes. Chief was also busy napping, in the little hole on the cat tree. He was lying on his back as well and he looked a little funny upside down! Chief also got to hang out with me while I was writing the Pet Journal. He explored the new surroundings for a bit before jumping up onto my lap and curling up in a ball, purring away.

Groups
Jake had a blast playing with his friends today. Before he could start playing, however, Jake had to say hello to the other dogs and then give the yard a quick inspection. He sniffed around for a few minutes before deciding everything was up to his standards. Then he hurried over to where I was playing fetch with a couple other dogs and Jake joined right in. He could hardly sit still! Jake was enjoying the chase more than actually catching the ball.He bounced along, racing with the other dogs each time i threw the ball!

Xiao Bao is such a cuddly little guy! He decided to act as my shadow today and followed me everywhere. Every time I knelt down he would jump right into my lap or run around my feet. He just loves attention. Once he had enough cuddling, Xiao Bao explored the yard with his buddies Baby and Mac. Then he noticed Nanook zooming around and rolling in the snow, and he went over to see what his friend was up to. They were soon joined by Miko, and all three of them were running laps.

Nanook adores the snow! As soon as we got outside, he jumped right into a big mound of it and sent it flying. I stuck my hand in a pile of snow and moved it around, and Nanook quickly pounced on it. He was so excited he could hardly stand still and a moment later he was dashing away. He loves to jump up and catch the snow right out of the air. This must have wound him up, because the next minute he was taking off again. His friends Miko and Xiao Bao noticed him racing around and they came over to see what he was doing, before joining in on the game.

Miko had a ton of fun outside today. He started off by going on an adventure with his friend Baby to check out all the distant corners of the yard. Something must have smelt quite interesting because both of them were darting all over the place with their noses in the snow. While Miko was dashing around, he bumped into Nanook as he ran past and immediately Miko decided to play chase. The two of them were flying across the yard and leaping over all the obstacles. They were having so much fun they didn't even want to come inside after!

Taylor was so excited to go outside today I could barely get her coat on because she was wiggling around so much. She was the first one of her group through the door and didn't even slow down once she was outside. Taylor was determined to play with everyone and started out by running around with Coco, Timbits and Apple. Then, while she was chasing the others around, Taylor bumped into Bella and Jake. The three of them took off across the yard and even wrestled a bit while they were racing each other. Once it was time to head inside, Taylor led everyone through the door again to continue playing inside.

Apple and Sky went their separate ways today during groups, although both of them made sure to see me for some cuddles before doing so. Apple was very excited to play with her friends Coco and Timbits, and while she was running around with them there was a very big doggy grin on her face. She is very nimble and used this to her advantage while playing chase, because she could easily leap out of the way and leave the others in the dust. While Coco wrestled with Timbits, Apple ran circles around them and acted as the referee to make sure everyone was playing fairly. Sky decided to have a quieter day and sniffed around a bit with Bella and Jake. When his two friends ran off to play with Taylor, Sky figured he should join in and bounced in the midst of the playing. Then he ran over to me for some cuddles, before it was time to head inside for more play.

Bella and Jake did a little bit of everything today. First, they explored the yard with their friend Sky to make sure everything was running smoothly. Bella stuck her nose in the snow and then paraded around with a white muzzle for a bit, until all melted off. Then she and Jake heard sounds of playing going on without them and raced over to find out what was going on. They bumped into Taylor, who was so excited she could hardly stand still, and immediately all three of them pounced on each other. Jake noticed me taking pictures and dashed over to say hello - which resulted in plenty of snow all over us and Jake left a big wet kiss on the camera. Jake raced back to his sister and continued playing with his friends.

Coco and Timbits, of course, were running the show today. They must have played enough for every dog in the group! Coco was teasing her little brother but luckily Timbits was having too much fun chasing her around to care, and his buddy Apple was there to supervise and keep things from getting too rough. Coco would pounce on Timbits, and in turn he would roll around in the snow while Coco ran in circles around him, before leaping to his feet and tackling his sister. They paused for a breather and dashed over to say hello to me, getting some cuddles before racing back to their game. The two of them were having so much fun that it took a little bit of convincing to get them into the playroom afterwards.

Macie had a great time exploring the yard. Fortunately, the weather warmed up a little bit so it wasn't too chilly while she was sniffing around, and all the snow had covered up the scents so Macie had to sniff extra hard. She was enjoying herself so much that she hardly even noticed me taking pictures, and the yard must have smelled quite intriguing because Macie was darting all over the place with her nose shoveling through the snow. Once she had covered everything, Macie went back to thoroughly inspect all the scents and make sure that everywhere had been properly sniffed.

Bluebell made a new best friend today, Willow! The girls teamed up the moment they stepped outside. Bluebell was very nice to her shyer friend and let Willow get used to things before they started playing. Then Bluebell took off with Willow in hot pursuit and led her on a big chase around the yard. She dodged the other dogs and ran a few circles around the play structure before she let Willow catch up, and then the girls had a wrestling match. Bluebell decided to go easy on her friend, and let Willow climb all over her, until Bluebell rolled over in the snow and raced away again, with Willow hurrying after her.

Apollo wanted to play with every toy in the yard. First he picked up a nice pink rope toy and paraded around with it, showing it off to the rest of the dogs. His friend Molly was very impressed. Apollo set the toy down for just a second to scratch his ear and suddenly Molly darted in and snatched up his toy! He raced after her and almost caught her a few times, before deciding to let her keep it, since she seemed to like it so much. Apollo discovered other rope toy, only this one was frozen into the ground. He didn't seem to mind and settled down to chew on it anyways.

Molly certainly loves her toys. She noticed her buddy Apollo running around with a rope toy and immediately Molly had her sights set on it. When Apollo's back was turned, she raced over and stole it from right under his paws. Then she had to play keep away while Apollo chased her around. Once Apollo found a new toy, Molly ran over to me to show me her prize. I grabbed one end and we played tug of war. She managed to pull it out of my hands a few times but always brought it back to play again. Then she laid down to chew on her toy.

Willow started out her day with a nice long walk in the forest with her friend Apollo. She was darting all over the trail, inspecting each tree along the way. When it was time for groups, Willow was a bit shy with the others at first, though she quickly warmed up to her new friend Bluebell. Soon the girls were chasing each other around and Willow had a blast trying to catch Bluebell while they darted around the other dogs. Then they paused for a breather and a moment later Willow pounced on her friend, with both front feet stretched way out, and the girls had a wrestling match in the middle of the yard while the rest of the dogs and I watched.

Lucy is such a happy girl. She always has a big smile on her face! Today during groups, Lucy decided to spend most of her time cuddling with me. When I stopped petting her for a moment to take pictures, Lucy just sat down on my feet and leaned on me until I resumed cuddling with her. Then Lucy noticed her friends Willow and Bluebell running around and hurried over to join them. They were so focused on their game, so Lucy bounced after them to referee and cheer them on. Once she decided to take a break, Lucy was soon on my feet again waiting for me to scratch her ears.

Nika got along very well with her group today. She kept things quiet and explored the yard with her new friend Sam. Once Nika was satisfied that everything had been sniffed properly, she wandered over to sit with me and watch the other dogs playing. The weather was very nice today for sitting around and enjoying the outdoors, and Nika decided to take advantage of that. She also made sure to get a bunch of cuddles from me before it was time to head inside. Then Nika raced up to the playroom with her friends to explore the new place.

Shyla and Maverick had a nice walk today in the snow. Both of them were so excited to go outside that I could barely get the leashes on them! During groups, Maverick decided to join right in while everyone was playing, and Shyla wanted to take it easy, so she explored the yard for a bit before going to watch her brother run around. Maverick was racing after the big group of huskies that were dashing across the yard. He pounced right on top of Magic before turning around and jumping onto Boris. He had so much fun playing with everyone and they were all panting once it was time to head inside. Maverick raced right up to the playroom to continue his wrestling match with Magic while Shyla followed a bit more slowly with her friend Tasha.

Boris was right in the middle of all the playing today. He was running around and wrestling with his sister Magic, until their buddy Brokk decided that Magic could use some help, and soon Boris was at the bottom of a husky pile. Then Kyah and Maverick raced over to help him out, and Boris quickly took off with the others right on his heels. He led them on a big chase around the yard. Tasha was busying sniffing around with her new friend Shyla, and then she noticed Boris running around and hurried over to intercept him. She wrestled with him until the others showed up again and then went back to her adventuring, while Boris was busy playing with the rest of the huskies.

Kyah had a blast chasing around her group today. She decided to be nice and help out Boris when Magic and Brokk teamed up on him, by running over and pouncing on Magic. The girls wrestled for a bit, and then they noticed Boris racing away, so they both dashed after him. Soon most of the dogs were chasing each other around with Boris in the lead and Kyah right behind him. She had so much fun chasing everybody around that she didn't even want to come inside, until she saw the rest of them racing up to the playroom, and she quickly hurried after them for more playing.
