Allie cat seemed to remember that she loved the hammock last time she was here, and curled up nice and cozy there for most of her day. She seemed happy that I put a new, clean blanket in the hammock, and climbed in right away. I came back to check on her a little bit later, and Allie was still in her favourite spot. I picked her up for a little change of scenery, and she wandered across the room to see what there was to see. Allie hopped up on the bed, which also had a fresh blanket on top. She seemed to like that quite a bit and laid down on it. I gave her some pets while she was there, until she decided to move back up to the tree hammock. I gave Allie some more chin scratches and tucked her into the blanket, leaving her to snooze away the afternoon.

Bella was super keen to head outdoors. She knew who she wanted to see, and was thrilled when she spotted him across the yard. She bee-lined it for Justice, not even stopping to say hello to myself or the other dogs. She instantly began pouncing all over him asking him to play. Justice was in a more serious mood today. All the fresh snow meant there was a lot of territory to sniff and explore. Bella didn’t mind his attitude today, in fact, him declining her only made her want him more. She continued to dance and prance around with him until he finally gave in. The duo then set off for a quick race around the yard followed by their typical boxing and wrestling. Bella was thrilled to have this time with Justice. Once she was pleased with the outcome of their interactions, Bella broke off to do some exploring of her own. While exploring the yard she came across Oakley, who she was fascinated by. Bella gave her a couple sniffs and then requested to play, but was politely denied. This didn’t bother Bella at all. She then made her way to my side and got lots of pets and cuddles before meeting up with Justice once more for another play before heading back indoors.

Oakley has been so outgoing this whole winter season. She is really enjoying her time with us more and more each week it seems. It’s great to see such a vibrant, outgoing, side of the usually reserved, laid back girl. Oakley couldn’t have been happier to get outdoors and instantly plop herself by my side looking for attention. This only lasted about 5 seconds. She realized Kyah was prancing in circles around us and quickly fled from my side to greet her buddy. The duo did lots of sniffing, kissing, and licking before decided to wander around together. Kyah and Oakley are so funny sometimes. Kyah was pretty insistent on getting Oakley to play but as soon as Oakley gave in, Kyah gave her the cold shoulder. Oakley was then the one dancing and play bowing to miss Kyah, requesting her to pretty pleased play. The pair finally set off for a brief race around the yard before making their way back to my side for some wrestling and boxing. This was great fun to watch. The pair had bundles of fun swatting at each other and tucking their bums and zooming in circles around each other. After lots of playing, Oakley and Kyah broke off to do some sniffing and exploring. Oakley ended up meeting up with Finn the mini doodle who was in love with her. He gave her so many kisses and play requests, which she politely declined. She then came across Bella who was very intrigued by her, but she once again decline any sort of games with her. Oakley spotted Kyah across the yard on the tunnel and made her way to her, and played a bit more before heading back inside.

Finnigan is loving his week straight of daycare. This guy is always beaming when he arrives and continues to be full of positive energy throughout the entire day. Finn couldn’t have been happier to be in a group with Kane. He has met Kane, the young Weimaraner, a handful of times but they aren’t always in the same group. The duo share so many similar traits, for example their positive energy, their outgoing personality, and mostly, their never stop moving mentality. The pair had so much fun from start to finish of their outdoor time. Kane really got the party stared by zooming in circles around Finn, non-stop. Finn was busy trying to sniff his friends but the persistent Kane refused to let up. Finn was finally ok with leaving the hello group to race around with Kane. The pair zoomed around in the yard from each corner to the opposite end with smiles on their faces and their ears flapping in the wind. Occasionally, they would stop to wrestle. Finn loved rolling around in the snow while his buddy pounced all over him. They continued these shenanigans forever. Every once in a while Finn would break off from Kane’s zoomies to greet his other group-mates, like Oakley, who he was very fond of. Finn gave her bundles of cute kisses and offered her lots of play requests, which she politely declined. Finn always found hi way back to Kane for more running and fun.

Laika was pleasantly surprised to be a part of a new group today. She was happy to see so many new faces. All the new dogs kept her very busy as she had lots of sniffing and getting to knowing to do. Laika made her way to each dog to politely say hello before she came to me for some pets and cuddles. While she was hanging out by my side, Macie came over and showed some interest in Laika. Macie gave Laika numerous sniffs over before asking her to please play. Laika wasn’t sure at first as Macie was very vocal about her request. Macie then backed away and began dancing around Laika. Laika liked this invitation more than the first, and gave in to Macie’s request. The duo then surprised me, and set off for a fast race around the yard. Laika was in the lead with Macie hot on her heels. The pair zoomed all around, dodging the other dogs and avoiding all obstacles. Laika loved running as fast as she could, and Macie seemed to enjoy the challenge.  Finally, Laika decided she had enough running and came back to my side for some quiet time. Macie continued to ask Laika to play, but quickly realized Laika was happy to be relaxing with me. Macie then head over to her other group mates who were goofing around. Macie joined in on the shenanigans with Kizmet, who was rolling in the snow, and Merck who was trying very hard to get him to stand up. Macie gave her input on the situation by chatting away to Merck and Kizmet, who weren’t afraid to vocally reply. This chatty group kept busy pouncing around until it was time to head indoors.

Teddie and Kiz started their morning off alongside myself, and their friend Macie on a great trail walk. All the fresh snow offers so many more things to sniff and explore. The three dogs were happy to take their time walking along the path with their noses deep in the snow, picking up on all the smells they could possibly find. It was much of the same business in the yard for Teddie. He definitely let his nose lead the way. He made his way around the yard numerous times adventuring and exploring. He was so happy about the fresh snow, as this meant great conditions for rolling around. Teddie is known for burying his face in the powder and then plopping his whole body down and rolling about. Kizmet shares this funny behaviour. These brothers are snow-rolling masters. Kizmet was getting a lot of attention for all the rolling and stretching he was doing today. Merck, a lovely German shepherd, couldn’t get enough of his funny actions. Merck was very chatty to Kizmet, asking him lots of questions and asking for him to stand up and play. Kizmet continued to roll about which drew the attention of other group mates. Soon enough, Kiz was the center of attention with all his mates bouncing and pouncing around him. He seemed to enjoy being the center of attention at first. After a while he got up and took off looking for a break from all the chatter. He wasn’t going to shake his friends that easy, as they set off behind him starting a chase around the yard. Finally, the crew settled down and Kiz was happy to put his nose to the ground and sniff and explore alongside Teddie.

Chloe is an absolute hilarious girl to be around. She never fails to make me laugh, and keep me entertained while in the yard. She is also a master of getting me to entertain her, with the ball of course. Chloe was thrilled when she entered the yard today and realized she had two balls to play with. I could see her mind running in circles at first as she stared them both down. She was torn between the red rubber ball and the blue squeaky ball, bouncing back and forth between each toy. Finally, she settled on the blue squeaky ball and the games began. Chloe kept my arm very busy, constantly requesting for it to be thrown. I didn’t mind playing fetch with her one bit, as she is so great at retrieving it and returning it right to my feet. We also had good fun launching it high in the air and her leaping very high to capture it. Chloe was very busy today keeping track of her blue ball, and also who had her red ball. When it was time to come in I was so pleased to see miss Chloe drop the ball at the door and then scurry her way down the hall and into her home.

It was another day well spent with dynamic duo Max and Sadie, these two never cease to amaze me with their endless amounts of energy and love to give. A morning spent with Max and Sadie is always an amusing time, I can just kick back and enjoy the Max and Sadie show! There were laps to be run, balls to be caught and tunnels to run through, and they did just that all in their first outing! As you can imagine they were quite busy trying to fit in all their favourite activities at once; they sure do know how to make the most of their time, and they still had the rest of the day ahead to play to their little hearts content!

Coco and Timbits are much smaller than Max and Sadie but are another regular brother-sister daycare duo and perhaps pack just as much punch in those small little bodies of theirs! After a good sniff along the back trail first thing this morning, they were ready to continue the fun for their first outing a short while later. Those little noses of theirs were ready for some more exploration in the freshly fallen snowy yard. They both dug up a nice ice chunk that they found along their path and excitedly lifted their bums in the air as they chomped away! Once Coco was done with her treat, she took a seat in the snow in the middle of the far yard and happily watched the small ones play around her including little Tim who was running circles around her with newcomers Charlie and Maggie.

Rufus and Sherman greeted me with those beautiful big eyes of theirs first thing this morning and were excited to be whisked away on their morning trail walk with me. Perhaps this is their favourite part of the day where they can stretch those little legs of theirs after a nights rest. Well they were just eager to go, and gave me a good tug out the door to get started and the three of us enjoyed our peaceful walk along the beautiful trail. Now they were ready to play and socialize with their favourite little four-legged friends! They especially enjoyed their time with little Maggie and Charlie and the four of them played in a pack all morning long.

Sweet Kouza was ecstatic to here my voice first thing this morning; she is always very perky in the morning because she knows that its almost breakfast time! But first a quick lap around in the yard to soak up some fresh air. She then enjoyed a special one on one walk out front and loved sniffing out new scents in the freshly fallen snow. A short while later she accompanied the rest of the little ones outside for some socialization. She didn’t hesitate one bit to get out there and explore all while greeting new and old faces to the group. But of course, in typical Kouza nature, she spent a good chunk of her time by my side where I was handing out free head rubs, that one is a cuddle bug for sure!

Kai headed out next for some fun in the snow and was excited to see Charly and Finnigan, two pups who have endless amounts of energy and this encouraged the silly side of Kai to come out. At first she watched as Finn and Charly wrestled across the yard while kicking up snow behind them. I could tell she was amused and could see her tail and ears perk up as if she was about to make her move. Sure enough, Kai leaped into the air and jumped right in. Charly couldn’t resist her fun-loving energy and this led to the great chase across the yard and they zoomed by me, one after another. They would then momentarily disappear out of my sight in the corner, I would then call them back and it was Kai out first, leaping and bounding through the air with Charly hot on her trail. Needless to say, she was pooped after a morning spent with these two young ones!

Boris and Tasha were thrilled to meet new rescue Husky Lupe outside today and immediately accepted her into their pack. It was the most playful group of the bunch as Boris and Tasha took on a battle with Vega and Lupe. The four of them were glued at the hip and it was so fun to watch them play in true Husky nature. Boris couldn’t get enough of Lupe, and Lupe adored the attention she was getting from this friendly boy. I think the pictures will speak for themselves, I couldn’t have asked for a more entertaining group of Huskies! Tasha found herself drawn to Kodiak and with a good check to the hip in enticement, the two of them were off but only to meet back up with Boris and Lupe would were having a regular Husky meeting at the agility tunnel!
