Another wonderful day for Teddie and Kizmet here at Tails and Trails. The two boys are always so easy going which allows us to make sure they each get the most out of their days. Teddie was in an especially chipper mood this morning as he trotted outside for their first morning outing. Kizmet was taking a bit more of a sleepy approach and he was all snuggled up in his comfy bed. He looked up to me as if to say "Do I really have to get out of bed right now?". However, after I snuggled with him for a few minutes, Kizmet willingly got up so that he could head outside and start his morning. Outside, they both went right to doing their favourite thing; rolling in the snow. Teddie was down first. As soon as he got outside he bury his head into the snow with his hind end shortly following. Kizmet ended up going right beside him and doing the exact same thing. While they were rolling around on their backs, I made sure to give them each a little belly rub. When it came to their morning walk, Teddie and Kizmet were both waiting and ready to go outside. They were both very good at waiting for me to put on their leashes and then were ready to get going. Teddie and Kizmet wandered around the yard before actually starting on their walk. They were consumed with so many scents and of course needed to quickly roll around in the snow before starting. Once on their walk, they were usually found walking right beside me to get a quick pat on the head. Kizmet ended up staying beside me for almost the entire walk while Teddie went to the end of his leash often so that he could try to get everyone to walk a little faster. When Teddie was at the end of his leash, he was usually searching after a scent that he had found as well. This got him to go even faster so we ended up doing a bit of a jog at one point. However towards the end of the walk the two of them were back by my side. When it came time for their big outdoor play group, Kizmet and Teddie were both waiting right at the door for us. As soon as I opened it the two boys trotted outside and immediately greeted all the others in their group. It was full with their closest friends so they were both pretty excited to go out. Kizmet decided to come over to me so that we could cuddle for a little while. He loved to bury his head against my legs and get his ears rubbed. Teddie was a bit more playful from the get go and started doing a few laps around the yard with one of his friends. Eventually he started bouncing around with one of our male huskies named Justice. Teddie and Justice play tackled each other for quite some times. I'd say there was an equal amount of wins for each one of them. I got Teddie interested in a bright blue ball that I found in the yard. The two of us played fetch with it and Kizmet even joined in on the game but it didn't last too long. After a bit more playing, Teddie decided it was time to once again roll around in the snow so that's how he finished off his group. Kizmet was very interested in his friend Macie. He would trot right up to her and bounce at her so that she would play bow back at him. Kizmet never actually really play tackled with Macie but he sure loved bouncing at her. At one point, Kizmet had lied down on the ground to roll in the snow and Macie came over to bounce right on top of him. She kept jumping over top of him and the two of them continued to play like that for quite some time.

Macie was quite a playful and loving little girl throughout the entire day today. Right from her first outing she made sure to give me kisses. As soon as I let her out, Macie ran up to me and gave me a kiss right on the nose before running outside. Once she got outside she made sure to greet her new best friends, Kizmet and Justice. She spent her entire morning outing following behind each of them and constantly trying to play tackle with one of them. After a few unsuccessful attempts, Macie came over to me for the remainder of her group so that we could cuddle. When it came time for her morning walk she was with two best friends once again, Teddie and Kizmet. As soon as she saw them she got so excited and was ready to get going. Macie was completely focused on playing for the first half of her walk. She would run in front of Teddie or Kizmet and then turn to face them and bounce at them while running backwards. She was constantly trying to tackle one of them but they were a bit more focused on their walk. So, she decided to walk along side both of them instead. This plan ended up working better and she walked between the two both for the rest of her walk. Eventually, she caught onto their habits of sniffing everything and became very focused on a few smells in the yard. When it came time for Macie's big outdoor play group, she was just as playful as before. Of course once I let her out she made sure to give me a kiss before heading to see her friends. Once she got into the yard her playfulness was at an ultimate high. Macie trotted around the yard in search for Kizmet. Once she found him it was game on as she ran up and play tackled him to the ground. The two of them were so cute playing together. He'd be lying on the ground while Macie bounced around him. When she wasn't playing with Kizmet, Macie enjoyed hanging out with our male husky Justice for a little while. The two of them didn't actually play much but Macie was just interested in following him around. Towards the end of the group, she came back over to me for some extra love.

Chloe was full of energy from the moment she woke up this morning. As soon as I got here and went down the halls I could pick Chloe out right away. Even before I had turned any of the lights on I knew she was at her kennel door wagging her body all over the place in anticipation to go outside and play. Once I let her out, Chloe sprinted down the hallway but then decided to come back so that she could sniff everyone through their kennels on the way out. Chloe was so playful throughout this first morning outing but she was more active than anything. She would continuously dart around the yard while looking for someone who wanted to race around with her as fast as she could. However everyone was a bit more tired than her so she was out of luck. Luckily, she went out on a very fast paced walk with her friend Nyxx, a very playful male husky. As soon as she saw that she was walking with him, Chloe went nuts. The two of them started circling and sniffing one another non-stop until they realized the door was open and with the drop of a hat they were out the door and into the yard. Chloe kept me on my toes for her entire walk because she was constantly at the end of her leash trying to sniff every little thing that she could. At times she'd be following a scent all of the trail. It would lead her into the trees, side to side of the trail and end up getting her leash all tangled up. Towards the end of her walk, Chloe had an extra burst of speed that led us to jogging the last little bit. When it came time for her outdoor play group she still somehow had a tone of energy and went bolting out of the hallway. The first thing she did was race around the yard while greeting everyone she passes. After finishing her rounds she came over to see me since I had picked up a bright blue ball that she just had to have. Chloe followed me around non stop until I threw it for her. Once I did she took off as fast as she could. Our game of fetch ended there since she never wanted to give the ball back to me. For the rest of the group time she was quite content with simply carrying her ball around the yard. She was constantly showing it off to everyone because she was very happy with it but for the most part she just ran around or lied with it on the ground.

Laika was completely full of beans for the most part of the day today! However, when I went to first get her she wasn't quite convinced that she should get out of her warm comfy bed just yet. Eventually she trotted out so that she could say good morning to everyone but she was definitely happy to go back in afterwards and catch a little bit more rest before it was time for her walk. Laika had a very nice walk with her friend Kai. The two girls always get along well together so it was a perfect match. Laika was starting to feel more energetic and had her tail wagging as fast as it could as she waited for me to get her and then Kai. Once she had her leash on she was down the hallway and out the door as soon as possible. Laika lead the walk from the start and her energy kept growing! She'd go through little bursts of speed that would have me trailing behind her but her friend Kai was always by her side. There were sometimes where Laika wanted to stop and sniff a certain scent in the snow, but most of the time it was go go go! By the end of the walk I was certainly out of breath but she seemed to be ready to start her outdoor playgroup. After a little break, it was time to go out and play once again. Laika was just as excited as the first time and couldn't wait to use up all of her energy. Once she got into the yard she was immediately looking for me to play with. As soon as I got outside she raced right up to me and wanted a back scratch right away. After a little bit of petting, Laika took off into the yard because she had seen a rope toy laying there. She swooped it up and she ran by and brought it back to me to play with. However, she didn't actually want to play tug of war so I threw it to see if she wanted to play catch but she didn't want to do that either. I ended up giving her another little back scratch and then all of a sudden she took off after the rope toy once again. This continued for the rest of her group and I'm not too sure what she was doing but she was having fun doing what it was! Every single time I gave her lower back a good scratch Laika would be bouncing her hind end in the air since she loved it, it was so funny.

Kouza had such a great day today. When Tayler went to get Kouza for her walk this morning, she rubbed her face up against her leg, saying thank you as Tayler clipped her to her leash. When they got outside, Kouza spent some time wandering around and giving everything a good sniff. While they walked around, Kouza listen to the birds sing and her ears perked up with joy. When she got back to her kennel, Kouza curled up in her bed and went to sleep. When it was time to go outside for her group, Kouza barked as she went down the hall to get outside. When she got outside, she lifted her nose to the sky to smell the fresh air, and the fresh mid morning smells. As Kouza wandered around, she stood close by and listened to her pals wrestling around. When Kouza was ready to go back inside, she walked over to the door and barked for me to let her in. once she got inside she curled back up on her bed until it was time to go back outside. Kouza had another excellent extra attention today! She was in such a good mood throughout the day and it simply continued through her extra attention. I brought Kouza up to her favourite place, the reception area. This morning there were a few of us up here so as soon as she came up, she was immediately saying hi to everyone that passed by her. Kouza loved having so many people around her. After her greetings, I gave Kouza a squeaking pig toy. She went absolutely nuts over it and couldn't ever let it go. Kouza kept in her mouth for the longest time and kept squeaking it so much that she even broke the squeaker that was in it, silly girl. Even though it didn't squeak anymore, Kouza still had a blast playing with it. There were times where I asked her for it so that I could throw it for her again and she didn't even want to give it up for that long. After a bit more playing, I decided it was time for a few treats. I went and grabbed a couple carrots and when I got back Kouza was sitting waiting for me as if she knew I had them. She did an excellent job with her sits and downs but wasn't quite too sure what I meant by "paw" today. After a few more treats it was cuddle time. Alyssa ad I sat with Kouza while giving her an excellent pet and tons of attention before she went back into her kennel.

Rufus and Sherman are such goof balls. When Tayler went to get them for their walk this morning, they ran around in circles before she hooked them up to their leashes. As soon as they got outside, they both took off like rockets with their pal Rhodri close behind them. On the trail, the boys spent some time sniffing around in a few trees and rocks, but they mostly stuck to the path. When they got back to their kennel, Rufus and Sherman laid on their bed together. When it was time for the boys to go out with their group, they ran down the hall as fast as their legs would take them. As soon as they got outside, Rufus and Sherman parted ways to go down their own things. Rufus went to sniff around the tunnel while Sherman said hello to Mosey, but soon decided to go over and sniff around with Rufus. These boys are so interested in all of the other dogs, especially when a new friend joins them in their group. Before we went back inside, I spent some time cuddling the boys and I gave them a few treats, leaving them to hang out until it was time for their training session.

Mosey looks so adorable with her new haircut thanks to our awesome groomer Alex. Mosey started her day off on a nice walk through the back bush trail with her human pal Tayler and doggie pal Jessie. On the trail, Mosey spent some time sniffing around in the deep snow around the trees as well as sniffing on the trail. While they all walked along, Mosey made sure to give Jesse a good sniff before they got back to the building. When they got back inside, Mosey curled up on her cot and went for a little rest. After Mosey got groomed, it was time for her to go outside for her first group outing of the afternoon. At first Mosey was a little hesitant to come out of her kennel to go outside, but as soon as she did she was instantly happy. When she got outside, she sniffed all of her pals that were waiting for her. After giving everyone a good sniff, Mosey decided to spend some time sniffing around the yard. She took some extra interest in the agility tunnel that we have in the small dog yard, and with careful thinking, she decided to run through it! Before it was time for Mosey to go back inside, I picked her up and gave her a few kisses and treats before I took her back to her kennel. After her second group outing, it was time for Mosey to have her extra attention. We spent Mosey's extra attention today in the reception, which she really seemed to enjoy. When we got up to reception, Mosey ran around sniffing everything as she went while I walked over to the treat jar to grab her a few pieces of liver. After she heard the rattle of the jar, Mosey ran over to me, sat and waited for me to reward her with a treat. After giving her a few more treats, Mosey and I spent some time cuddled up together on a big comfy chair. Before it was time to go back to her kennel, I gave Mosey a few more treats for being such a good girl.

Kai seemed extra playful today. For her walk this morning, she got to spend some time with Tiffani and Laika. As they walked around the back trail, Kai ran into the deep snow to run through quite a few times. Before she got back to the yards, Kai took a minute to roll around in the wet snow. When she got back inside, Kai curled up on her bed until it was time for her extra attention. For her extra attention this morning, Kai and I spent the first half in the playroom and the other half in reception with Tiffani and Alyssa. When we were in the playroom, Kai and I spent some time cuddling on the couch, and I got lots of kisses for her. After we cuddled for a bit, I threw a ball around for her which she really enjoyed. After she was finished playing around, Kai came back over to the couch for some yummy liver treats. When we got to the reception, Kai ran over to Tiffani and Alyssa and gave them a few kisses before she ran back over to me to show off what kind of tricks she could do for a few treats. We discovered that Kai could sit, lie down, sit pretty, and stay. I had such a blast during her extra attention this morning. When it was time to go outside, Kai ran into the yard as fast as she could, to go se her pal Nymeria. As the two of them took off around the yard together, the rest of the groups followed them around. After playing around with Nymeria for most of the group, Kai came over to me for some cuddles before it was time to go back inside.

Nymeria had so much fun today. She started her morning off going on a nice walk on the back trail with her pal Nyxx. When the pair got outside, they wrested each other through the yard until we got to the trail. When we got to the trees, Nymeria ran over to the closest one to sniff it all around until she was satisfied to move onto the next one. After she was finished sniffing the trees, her and Nyxx took off like rockets on the trail, dragging Tiffani behind them. When Nym got back to her kennel, she went over to her cot and scratched around in her blanket until she was ready to have a nap. When it was time to go outside for her group, Nymeria ran down the hall and out the door as fast as she could, excited to go outside again. When she got into the agility yard, Nymeria raced around excited to find her pal Kai and they two took off together. While Nymeria played with Kai, the rest of her group intrupped a few times, but Nym and Kai always found each other again. After playing around with Kai, Nymeria ran over to Vega and Korvo to wrestle around with them while Merick stood close by to coach the trio. After wresting around with Vega for a few more minutes, Nymeria was ready to go back to her kennel.

Allie was taking a nap when to hangout with her. Rango was roaming around the cat room and he and Allie exchanged a glance while I was putting Rango back in his kennel. Allie sniffed him through the door curiously and then happily hopped down from her condo to explore. She went straight for the door as usual, to see if it would magically open for her. When it didn't, she wandered over to the window, where she leaped up to the ledge and stood there. I went towards her and she hopped right to the top of the cat tree, and it was almost like she was playing a game of tag with me. She sat perched there for a while while I pet her behind her ears. She was very content to sit there and lap up all the attention all night! It wasn't until her dinner was served that she climbed her way back down and devoured her delicious dinner!
