Our kitty cat guests Harlow and Rumple enjoyed another day with the cat room all to themselves. They were eager for pets and love right from the minute I turned on the lights this morning. I gave them lots of chin scratches before making their breakfast. Once those bowls came out, though, they meowed in excitement for their meal. A little bit later in the morning I went in to have a visit with Harlow and Rumple. The boys were hanging out in their usual spots: Harlow on the bed, and Rumple on the windowsill. Rumple jumped down immediately and rubbed against my leg, while Harlow meowed and stretched before getting up from his cushion. The boys were full of beans today, especially Rumple. After spending some time petting them, Harlow hopped up onto the cat tree, and Rumple watched him intently. Harlow’s tail was wagging at the edge of the cat tree, and Rumple zeroed in on it, his moving target. He jumped and swatted at Harlow’s tail, which gave him a bit of a surprise! Rumple continued to swat away at his brother’s tail as it swayed back and forth, which made for some awesome entertainment. Harlow then leapt from the cat tree to the floor, and Rumple up onto the chair to join me. When I got up, Harlow happened to be walking past, and Rumple took another bat at his tail! He’s such a little trickster. I left them to their antics for a little while and came back for another visit in the afternoon. I think they had gotten some of their wiggles out by then, because they were both ready for lots more pets and chin scratches.

Max, Sadie and I had such a great morning walk. They were awesome when I was suiting them up with their collars and leashes, sitting for me like such perfect angels. Out on the trail I really picked up the pace, marching at a very brisk speed and the duo loved this. They sped along ahead of me with their noses to the ground, zig zagging across the trail picking up all the smells as fast as they could. When we were back from the walk they seemed surprised at how fast it went by! They played around with me for a bit in the back playroom before settling down into their kennel. In the yard the pair was quick to get going with their usual games. It took them about half a second to meet up and begin pouncing all over one another. Today, Sadie was the one who was begging for the intense wrestling. Max wasn’t opposed to this, of course. They spent most of their outdoor time flinging their bodies on top of one another and sprinting around as fast as possible. At one point the duo charged right towards me, luckily I was fast on my feet and just made it out of the way before I put myself on the ground. They smothered me with love after realizing they had knocked me down. After a bunch of cuddles, Max and Sadie split off to explore the yard before it was time to head back indoors.

Coco had a nice day today. She wasn’t up for all the games that her brother was participating in, however she still followed him around intensely. Coco is always sure to keep a close eye on her baby brother, making sure he is always behaving his best. When things get out of hand Coco is quick to leap in and get him in line. Coco enjoyed sniffing and exploring the entire yard while she was outside. She was happy to have the company of some older, independent dogs who also enjoy to sniff and explore. Timbits, on the other hand, was FULL of energy today. He was so pleased to meet up with his pal from yesterday, Bruno. These two boys are very similar in personality. They spent so much time wrestling around, alternating pinning the other one to the ground. Timbits loved the intense play. When he had enough of wrestling he would dart off across the yard looking to be chased. Not only did Bruno enjoy chasing him, lots of his other group mates were hot on his heels too. Timbits kept very busy with all of his friends today as well as all the smells in the yard. It is safe to say he was very tired when he finally returned to his kennel.

Bruno had a fabulous last day with us. After his morning outing and morning walking, he accompanied me up front for his extra attention time. Today Bruno was enthralled with a racoon stuffy that we have. He was quick to pull it out of the toy bin and begin shaking it around in his mouth. The racoons lack of stuffing made it even more appealing to shake around. We must have spent 10 minutes tugging the toy back and forth. Despite Bruno’s tiny size, his strength sure gave me a run for my money. He was so pleased when I finally gave up and gave him the toy. He then brought it onto the chair and sucked on it for a while. After this he was happy to sit on my lap and cuddle me. In the yard today, Bruno was very happy to meet up with his daycare pal Timbits again. These two have so much fun wrestling with one another as well as sprinting around the yard full speed. When Bruno was tired from all the games he would take a break and roll around in the snow. Bruno also met up with Emma, and Tag today. To larger, small dogs, that kept him very entertained. He had endless amounts of fun with all of his friends throughout his whole time outdoors.

Tag is always so much fun to have around. She has grown to be very attached to the humans while in the yard. She loves to charge towards me and then leap all over me. After being reminded not to jump, Tag always sits very nicely by my side waiting to be pet and cuddled. Of course she leaves to play with her friends too. She wasn’t sure of all the small dogs at first. It took her some time to get used to all the busy energy. Once she found the right friend, her tail began to wag and she was very happy. Tag enjoyed darting around the yard with Timbits, Bruno, and Emma. She loves when all her friends chase her. Tag also enjoyed chomping down all the fresh snow that was surrounding the perimeter of the yard. After a break inside, she was happy to head outdoors with yet another group. This group consisted of young, larger dogs. Tag was a big hit amongst her fellow puppy friends. Vega the Siberian husky puppy and Polly the hound/lab puppy loved her. These three were so fast zooming around the yard and were quick to have Finn and Jake on their tails too. These five dogs had a blast racing in circles around the yard.

Polly is always such an entertaining girl to have around. It doesn’t take much to set her off on her games. Once she gets going, she never stops. It is very enjoyable for me to sit back and watch her zip and zoom around the yard with her tongue flapping out the side of her mouth. Polly was thrilled to meet up with Finn, her mini doodle friend. These two always enjoy one another’s company and never settle down. They wrestled around the yard non-stop for such a long time. Their other group mates tried getting in on the fun but they were pretty set on their one-on-one games. Finn and Polly love rolling around in the snow, pouncing all over each other, and mouthing at one another’s necks. After loads of wrestling the pair hopped up to join in on some racing that was going on. Polly is so fast on her feet, and quickly went from last to first. She was pleased to be the leader of the chase, having 4 speedy friends hot on her heels. Soon, Vega the Siberian husky puppy made it to the front and Polly lept right on her to drag her down. This set the duo off on a big wrestling match which soon involved Finn and Jake too. This group never stopped moving from the moment they got outdoors to the moment I had to cox them indoors with cookies. After begging Polly to come in, she crashed in her kennel. She had a nice snooze before her next outing where the fun and games started all over again.

Boris and Tasha were eager and ready to spend their day with us along with all of their favourite friends. They could barely wait to get the morning started as their ears and tails perked up every time we passed their kennel! Moments after arriving, it was time for their outdoor group play, which was good because I could see that they were just bursting with excitement and could hardly wait any longer! Right away, Boris met up with Husky pals Justice and Kyah and started their usual Husky brawl where they ran full speed across the yard, then met up at their usual spot by the agility tunnel. Lucky for them, they had little Vega who was taunting them all from above the tunnel; Boris was up for the challenge and hopped up as well but boy it was slippery! Vega then took cover in the tunnel and this got the attention of the whole group and even Tasha wanted to join in! Tasha was full of beans this morning, in fact I don’t think I have ever seen her run and play as hard as she did today. We all know that she cant resist a good wrestle with Boris so while he was playing with Finn, she ran over and jumped up on her hind legs to entice him to wrestle, then off they went speeding around the yard again with Justice and Kyah hot on their trail.

Finnigan, our frisky Friday daycare pal, had an eventful morning starting off with his favourite trail walk with best friend Charly. This made an interesting walk to say the least, perhaps there was more playing than walking when it came to these two! Next up for Finn were a couple rounds of play starting off with the Husky clan and Finn fits right in that you would think he was part of the pack! He especially loves to wrestle around with Boris, Charly is fun and all, but he really gets to let loose and have some boy fun when Boris is around. After a few rounds of wrestle, he was ready to find and collect his favourite balls but that meant stealing them away from Charly. Easy thought, and before I knew it he had two balls protected under his paws with Charly right by his side begging for them back. Just a moments rest for Finn before it was time to go back out again but this time with silly Polly, Vega and Jake; I can only imagine the mischief they got up to!

Molly is our fetch-loving sweet Golden that has been boarding with us and she is such a special girl. Not only is she obedient, but she is loveable and playful, not to mention those beautiful long Golden locks of hers, what more could you ask for? Molly made sure she was the first one to scoop up that bright orange ball she noticed when she first set paw in the snow. We played a few rounds of fetch and she showed me how agile she was with her jumping skills in the air! Molly didn’t realize she had competition until Spencer ran over and tried to steal the ball away; the look of confusion quickly spread across her face! Spencer wanted to show Molly up as he jumped in the air eagerly showing us that he can do it too! Luckily for Molly, Spencer got bored of the ball and therefore she spent the rest of the morning prancing around with that ball in her mouth, only taking breaks of course to roll around on her back in the snow!

I swear Spencer has been getting more and more playful the longer he visits with us; that’s a sure tell sign that he is truly enjoying his stay and is in his glory when outside with his favourite four-legged friends. Spencer decided to challenge Molly to the ball, a bold move to try and steal a ball from a fetch-loving retriever! But he was quick and frisky this morning and loved every single minute of it. Up he jumped in the air to snatch the ball as I threw it, he has some moves let me tell you! Once bored of the ball, he decided to play with sister-duo Leah and Poppy who were enticing him to play since they spotted him outside. It was hilarious to watch him play and interact with the girls and they enjoyed his company just as much as he did! Spencer followed his nose all around the reception area today after his outdoor group time. He said hello to Julie and then investigated all of the smells around the room. Spencer sat very nicely in front of the treat jar, so I of course gave him one! I then took down the toy basket and showed him a few different options. First, he picked up a fox stuffy, but then decided that it wasn’t the one. He tried a tennis ball next, but still wasn’t quite sold. The last one I gave him was the orange hockey ball, and Spencer happily trotted off with it. He laid down by the desk and chewed on the ball before picking it back up and doing another lap of the room. I sat down on the floor and Spencer came over to me, put his ball down and then sat by my side for some pets. He’s such a sweetie.

Bear should be renamed Teddy Bear; he is the cuddliest bear around! Bear was excited to have a change of scenery this morning and he met new friends out in the agility yard! He spent some time exploring the new spot with his ears and tail perked right up in excitement. I kneeled in the snow and called him over, he excitedly made his way over and tried to take a seat right in my lap! Maybe he doesn’t realize his size but it didn’t matter, I loved the bear hug! He could have spent his whole morning with me on my lap, but he was curious to meet another gentleman named Oliver. The two of them greeted one another with excitement and spent some time nuzzling noses! Bear even decided to join Spencer and the ladies who were being silly running circles around him. He loved the commotion and stayed close to the pack as they frolicked across the yard. Needless to say, it was an enjoyable day for our sweet Bear!
