Kouza was quick to make her way into the yard when it was time for group. She was hanging out with Jersey; both of them had their noses to the ground checking out every little thing that caught their attention. When Jersey moved on Kouza was content to keep exploring on her own. I watched her as she went around the shaded part of the yard, before deciding to go over and see how she was doing. As soon as Kouza realized I was there she pushed her head against my legs and demanded all the love and attention I could give her. I was of course more than happy to do this. I left Kouza to go and check on some of the other dogs, she was quick to put her nose back to the ground and set off in search once more. Eventually Kouza left the shaded section and made her way further out in the yard. She met up with Buddy and spent some time saying hi to him. Kouza seemed to find his coat quite interesting and gave it a thorough once over. I made my way back over to her. Kouza was quick to shove her face back into my legs, only this time she was looking for some chin rubs. It wasn’t long before she was turning around so I could giver her some butt scratches too. During her walk today, Kouza was quite adventurous and investigated everything she could. Her extra attention time came late in the day and boy there were some funny sounds coming from the playroom as she and Tayler had a blast together. She was barking in excitement and at one point had Tayler on the ground unable to move for all the kisses she was getting.
Bear seemed pretty excited to be heading out for group time. He made his way out to the yard with a very determined stride. Bear wasted no time in making his way to the far end of the main yard, though he did stop to see what some of the others were doing, but he was quick to keep moving. Once Bear was by the fence, he started to do some exploring in the deeper snow. It then looked like he was going to head out to the far yard, when something caught his attention and he suddenly stopped to bury his face in the snow. Bear nosed around a bit, before sampling some of the snow. This seemed to start a whole other mission and soon Bear was going back around the main yard sampling snow here and there. His path eventually led him over to me. Bear then leaned his head against me and asked for some love and attention. Once he’d had all the pets he could take he made his way out to the far yard. Bear headed straight for the freshest snow he could find. He then found himself a comfy spot and threw himself to the ground. Bear looked quite comfy and was happy to sample some of the nearby snow. He was content to stay there for the rest of group time.
Max and Sadie were as usual super excited to head outside for group time. As soon as they got out the door they both went racing for the far yard. As Sadie was passing through the gate her nose hit the ground and she was off in search of interesting things. Max decided to follow her lead and do a little exploring of his own. He didn’t stay exploring long. Soon Max was racing back and forth between Sadie and I. He’d pause occasionally for a quick pet from before racing back to Sadie, who he then tried to convince to go running with him. Sadie was determined to keep exploring and managed to ignore and fend him off. She continued around the yard with her nose to the ground. Eventually Sadie ended up by the tunnel. Max took this as a sign and went and stared at her from the other side. It wasn’t long before Max got his wish and Sadie play bowed. Then they were off tearing around the yard at top speeds with some wrestling moves thrown in for fun. It wasn’t long before Sadie was distracted by something in the snow, so Max reverted back to running between her and I. The two of them then decided to make their way out to the main yard and do a little exploring in the deeper snow. Once they finished with that it was back to tearing around the yards. After some energy was burned off Sadie went and hopped up on the picnic table. She was more than happy to stay up there and get lots of pets from me. Max tried to get her to play some more, but she was really enjoying being Queen. He then decided to go and do some more exploring. Sadie watched him go, then went and joined him.
Harlow and Rumple are such wonderful cats, I really enjoyed
spending time with them today. For their extra attention this morning, we spent
most of our time cuddling, however we did play for a few minutes. When I got to
the cat room this morning the boys had already been fed and they were having their morning nap. Harlow was sleeping on the
cot and Rumple on the cat tree. As soon as I opened the door, the boys both
jumped up and ran over to me to rub against my legs. After I gave them a few
pets, I went over to the cupboard to grab them a few treats, while I threw one
of their toys for them. After I gave them some treats we cuddled for a while
but before I left we played with the laser pointer, which they really enjoyed.
Ricky, Wally and Glory had a blast today. They were so happy
to spend some time with their sister Vega, and best pals Jake and Korvo. When
they got out to the yard, Wally howled as soon as he saw Jake and they took off
like rockets around the yard. As Wally and Jake chased each other around, Glory
and Vega tackled each other around the yard, and Ricky sniffed around the
fence. After he finished sniffing, Ricky decided to join Vega and Glory, and
then the rest of the group joined in on the fun too.
Spencer had a very entertaining day today. When he got
outside for his group, he raced around the yard as fast as he could, to see all
his pals again. As soon as he saw his pals Leah and Poppy they all raced around
the yard, barking as they went. As they ran by the agility tunnel, Poppy ran
through, and Spencer ran to the other end to meet her there. After chasing each
other around for a few minutes, Leah eventually got tired and decided to go
sniff around while Tonka stepped in to replace her, and the trio ran around the
yard again. After he finally slowed down a bit, Spencer came over to me a gave
me a few kisses before running back over to his pals for some more play time.
Before it was time to go back inside, Spencer and I cuddled for a few minutes
while his pals sniffed around the yard. For his extra attention time this afternoon, Spencer and I headed into the playroom. It's so much fun to play with Spencer, especially when there are lots of toys in the toybox. He loved the pig toy at first and we had a few rounds of fetch. In the playroom the bouncy toys are lots of fun because they really bounce against the rubber floor and the walls, so Spencer displayed some exciting moves as he jumped for it. He was then distracted by a variety of other toys, including some nylon bones, but not the rope toy for some reason. Maybe it was too big. It was also really nice to get Spencer's attention for some petting time. He would appreciate some massage and me playing with his lovely hair until something distracted him and he'd be off to the toybox once again.
Monkey is starting to come out of his shell as the day goes
along. For his first group outing today, Monkey stayed out for a few minutes
before his paws got cold and I took him inside, but in those few minutes he had
lots of fun. At first, Monkey seemed very skeptical of the other dogs in his
group, but after they finally went to do their own thing, Monkey followed me
around the yard sniffing as he went. After following me around for a bit,
Monkey walked around in the yard to see what was going on, and once he was
satisfied, he asked me to let him back inside. After I put him back in his
kennel, I gave him a few kisses and treats for being such a good boy. Today was definitely a settling in today for Monkey and we gave him some time to feel comfortable in the yard and his kennel. He wasn't interested in coming out for his extra attention but he sure did enjoy it when I joined him on his comfy cot. He got his head right onto my shoulder and soaked up all the love I could give him. He is such a love and I'm looking forward to seeing him get more comfortable.
