Miko was very excited to be back today. He wasn’t the only
one very excited to return after the holidays. Miko’s good buddy Pearl was very
excited to be here too. He was fast to find her in the yard and begin begging
her to play. Pearl wasn’t so sure at first as she was very busy sniffing and
exploring. Miko is known for his persistent behaviour towards Pearl, and today
was no exception. After lots of dancing and prancing around, Miko finally got
his girlfriend to play around with him. The pair had so much fun zooming around
the yard. Miko wasn’t too sure about Pearl's jacket, but got used to it in a
short while. They continued to zoom in circle around the yard together,
stopping to sniff and explore occasionally. Miko was especially fascinated by
the kiddie pool which is coming uncovered from the snow. He spent a good chunk
of time digging at it and trying to get it in his mouth, not realizing it was a
whole pool! Pearl was soon in on this, trying to help him out. After lots of
digging and barking at the piece of green plastic the pair broke off to do some
exploring. Pearl was very happy to meet up with Lola who was busy sniffing and
exploring. The duo happily accepted loads of pets and cuddles to keep warm
before heading back inside. Miko on the other hand, was very busy dancing
around with Tag and Merlin. It took much convincing to get these crazy dogs
inside.
Tag is always such a pleasure to have. She couldn’t have
been more excited to arrive this morning, dashing down the hall without even
waiting for me. She bolted down her hall and began dancing around the kennels
waiting to be let into one. She was happy to settle down for a brief period of
time before heading outdoors for some fun. Tag was thrilled to meet her mini-me
outside today. Merlin is a lovely, handsome Schnoodle who comes in for daycare,
too. The pair hit it off right away, sniffing each other and then quickly
turning the sniffing into playing. Merlin was so excited to have such an
outgoing young girl be so interested in him. The pair dashed in circles around
the yard, speeding as fast as possible, with some other company hot on their
heels too. Their racing came to an end when Tag rolled onto her back asking for
some wrestling. Merlin was happy to pounce all over Tag. Tag didn’t stay on the
ground for too long before she rolled over and began boxing with Merlin. Merlin’s
little size didn’t mean anything, as he is very feisty and strong when it comes
to games. The pair had so much fun batting each other around and dancing in
circles. They kept each other very busy and entertained until it was time to head
back indoors for a snooze before their next outing, where the games started all
over again.
Max and Sadie enjoyed a beautiful day running around and
wrestling in their usual fashion with the freshly fallen snow sparkling on their fur. Sadie gets especially frisky when the snow starts to fall and today
she was eagerly enticing Max to chase her around the yard when it’s usually the
opposite! There was no need to beg Max to play; he was already hot on Sadie’s
trail as she started to whip around the yard. I was able to break their attention
away by shining the bright orange ball in front of their faces; Sadie took the
first turn and literally leaped into the air after the ball! Max thought this
looked like fun and decided to give it a try; I am not sure who jumped higher,
both were quite agile when flying into the air with a good push off their hind
legs! Once Sadie caught the ball, she tried to safely secure it between her
paws, but it was a struggle to keep it away from big brother Max who was
determined to steal it back. The rest of their morning was spent taking turns
flying in the air with fluffy snow kicking up behind them after their favourite
ball!
Monkey was in the greatest spirits today and boy was he
ready to play and have some fun outside with some of his new favourite friends!
I think he feels most confident in his winter jacket because once I suited him
up; he leaped out of the door and into the snow, and of course he looked very
handsome! Everyday he seems to be warming up more and more; you just know there
is an extremely playful boy in that wiggling body of his, just waiting to burst
out! When I called his name, he came barreling over in excitement then would
run back to the front door where he would eagerly pee k his head around the gate
to see if I would call him over again; he loved this game. His attention was
then taken away when rambunctious little Charly enticed him to play, to no
surprise he accepted her offer and the two of these silly pups jumped around
and pawed at one another for the rest of the morning. Monkey is always a pleasure to spend time with for his extra attention. I grabbed him from his kennel after his afternoon group and headed up front. He was a little confused about where we were going but as soon as he realized we were going up front he raced up to the reception area without hesitation. Monkey of course went straight to the treat jar. He sat patiently in front of it staring hopefully for a treat. I grabbed a handful and sat on the chair with him beside me. He sat nicely and took his treats gently. He gave me his paw hoping to get a few more out of me, who could resist this sweet boy. He explored around and enjoyed the odd back scratch during his time up front.
We were so happy to see Issy and Mocha join us back for
daycare today after a couple weeks off during the Christmas holidays. They
greeted us with those loving smiles and trotted down the hallway to take their
usual spot in the kitchen; spoiled girls! They were eager to get outside and
see their friends who they have missed over the past couple of weeks and were
amused to see Husky trio Jynxx, Nyxx and Skie. These three really know how to
bring the energy out in any pup and it was nice to see the playful side come
out of both Issy and Mocha who didn’t really know what to think of all the
attention they were getting. I could tell how happy they were when all four
ears and two tails were perked right up! Once Mocha finally had a moment to
herself, she rolled around on her back in the snow, a signature Winter Mocha
move. Issy was too busy herself trying to fend off Skie and Jynxx who were
howling and pawing at her to play, Issy gave them her four-foot shuffle and
check to the hip, which in Issy language, is the invitation to play! I bet
these two gorgeous girls will be pooped by the time they head home tonight!
