Rufus and Sherman had such a great day! The two of them were wide awake first thing in the morning and wasted no time hurrying out the door for the first group of the day. They wandered around with the rest of the little dogs to check things out and see what had changed in the yard overnight. After that, both of them were very excited for walks. They could hardly wait for the leashes to be put on. They both kept up a fast pace as they zigzagged all over the trail, trying to sniff everything and walk at the same time. Once we got back from walks they cuddled up on their bed together for a brief nap, although the activities were just getting started and soon the boys were leaping to their feet as it was time for groups again! Rufus took the lead heading outside and pounced right into the snow. He must have picked up an interesting scent as he suddenly went racing off with his nose to the ground. Sherman followed at a slower pace and paused to say hello to me, and pose for some pictures of course. He was enjoying a nice back rub when his brother happened to look over and realized that he was being left out of the cuddles. Rufus moved faster than I've ever seen him go, practically flying into my lap in search of attention. They both snuggled with me for a bit longer before we headed out into the main yard to burn off some energy. Sherman was poking and prodding at Rufus, trying to get him to play, although Rufus was teasing his poor brother by pretending to chase him and then stopping suddenly. Eventually Rufus gave in and the two of them went bouncing off together. They were soon joined by Bogie, Peep and Mosey, who were chasing each other around as well. All five of them were bumping into one another and spinning around as they played. Halfway through their game of chase, Rufus was distracted by his nose and he wandered off to sniff around the fence. Sherman continued to race laps with Mosey until he realized that Rufus was no where to be found. He stopped to look around and as soon as he spotted him, Sherman went hurtling towards Rufus and practically tackled him into the snow. They soon resumed playing. Both of the boys had so much fun running around with everybody!
For their extra attention today, Rufus, Sherman and I headed up to the playroom. They knew exactly where we were going as soon as I opened their kennel door. Both of them raced into the playroom and immediately split up in search of the best toys. Sherman had discovered a small bone and a nice Kong, and he couldn't decide which one to keep! While he was trying to pick a toy, Rufus had found quite a large bone, and managed to carry it across the room. He settled down to chew on it and Sherman resumed sprinting around the room. Eventually Rufus became distracted and Sherman snuck in to steal the bone. They went back and forth between playing with different toys, and then we finished things off by the two of them sitting in my lap and getting lots of cuddles!

Mosey certainly enjoyed the nice weather today. She could hardly wait to get outside this morning and say hello to everybody. Her little friend Samson joined her to sniff around in the snow, and slowly they made an entire lap of the yard. Next up was walks. Mosey joined a couple of her friends to brave the trail. Occasionally she would stray off the path and end up shoulder-deep in snow, though Mosey would happily bounce through the deep stuff until she was on packed ground again. The snow must have felt nice on her fur while she was climbing through it, because she kept pausing to rub her back. Once walks were over, Mosey was very eager to start groups again. She was ready and waiting at her kennel door as soon as I came to let her out. Along with Samson once more, Mosey practically flew outside! She got a sudden burst of energy and play-bowed to Samson, who quickly pounced back. The two of them bounced around for a little while before Samson decided to explore and Mosey went bounding off to check out the other yard. She stopped in the middle of the yard and looked around to see where she should go first. Mosey had hardly taken a step when suddenly Bogie and Peep came racing over, encouraging Mosey to play with them. Mosey happily obliged and chased Bogie around while Peep cheered them on, occasionally joining in. The three of them were racing around together and sliding through the snow, having lots of fun! It wasn't long before Rufus and Sherman decided to join in, and Mosey was delighted to have more friends to play with. She had such a great time in the yard with her group.

Laika is such a sweetheart! She was so happy to see me this morning and followed me around in the yard, soaking up all the attention. Occasionally Laika would wander off to give something a sniff or say hello to a dog, though every time I turned around she would be patiently waiting for more snuggles. For her walk today, she joined Chloe and Maggie, some of her friends from her group. The girls were very excited to head out to the trail. They all squeezed their way through the door at the same time and bounced happily into the yard. Laika led the way and soon the girls were racing all over the trail. The first part of the walk was quite hectic as everybody was so full of energy, but the dogs had lots of fun playing. At one point, Laika had found a good spot for a roll, and wasted no time flopping over to wriggle around in the snow. She then leaped to her feet and went running after Chloe. The rest of the walk was nice and calm, and Laika had so much to explore while we walked. After that it was time for groups, and somehow Laika didn't seem the slightest bit tired! There was lots to see in the yard and Laika was racing back and forth as she tried to check out everything. She happened to glance in my direction and noticed me taking pictures of her, so of course she had to come running over for some cuddles! Laika must have been a bit wound up because she was wiggling around like crazy as I was petting her. She then leaped away from me and play-bowed. I pretended to run after her, and Laika went flying across the yard. She quickly circled back and went past me again, and once more I acted as though I was going to chase her. This seemed to be one of Laika's favourite games so we continued playing it until she was ready for a break!

Chloe had a very eventful day today. She was ready to go first thing in the morning and wasted no time following her group outside. All of the dogs were still walking up, so Chloe was happy to sniff around with everybody and say hello to anyone that wandered past. Once it was time for walks, the dogs were feeling much more lively - Chloe especially! She met up with her friends Laika and Maggie for a walk, and I could tell that they were going to be full of energy right from the start. Sure enough, they started bouncing around like wind-up toys as soon as we reached the trail. Chloe was racing back and forth as she attempted to sniff every single tree that we passed. She also played a bit with Laika, before Chloe went back to exploring the path. The girls were moving quite fast for the entire walk and I wasn't surprised that Chloe was ready for a rest afterwards! She wasn't sleepy for long, however, because I went to get her from her kennel and Chloe leaped to her feet once she realized what time it was: groups! Of course Chloe the toy-lover wasted no time searching the yard for something to carry around. The first toy she stumbled upon was a nice rubber bone. Chloe pranced around and showed it off proudly to all of the dogs. She was just about to sit down and start chewing when suddenly I squeaked a toy ball! Chloe was at my side in seconds. She, Stella and Bridie all got ready to run after it. Chloe was victorious and proudly ran off with the ball. Stella had found Chloe's old bone and went racing after Chloe. The two of them happily ran around together with their toys poking out of their mouths.

Teddie and Kizmet had a fantastic day today. They started their day off with a nice walk on the back trail with Eric. When Eric went to get them, Teddie and Kiz wagged their tails so hard that you could hear the tapping all the way down the hall; needless to say they were very excited. When they got to the trail, Kiz took a dive into the snow and rolled around, while Teddie sniffed around some trees. Throughout their walk, the boys spent most of their time sniffing around, however Teddie did let out a few barked at some birds as they passed by. When they got back inside, they both went to their beds and chewed on their hooves for a bit. When it was time to go out with their group, Teddie and Kizmet ran outside as fast as they could, excited to get some playtime in. Outside the door they were greeted by a few of their pals, which they both thoroughly sniffed, but then they decided to part ways and do their own thing. Kizmet spent his time lazily walking around saying hi to everyone while Teddie sniffed around the yard as he went. Before it was time to bring the group back inside, Kiz and I spent some time cuddling while we sat watching Teddie wander around the yard. When they got back to their kennel they both stretched out on their beds and went to sleep.

Allie was a sleepy little girl today. I went in to say hello and she was silently snoozing away in her hammock on the cat tree. She looked up at me for a bit and meowed for me to pet her. I stroked her head for a few minutes and she slowly dozed off again. I took some cute photos of her sleeping and then let her rest. I came back to the cat room after a little bit and she was roaming around the room. She sat at the door and meowed at me to come in. I stepped in the room and she rubbed her head against my legs and then bolted over to her kennel. By this time she was ready for her supper and stood in her bed meowing. I pet her and she munched on her food. She enjoyed a nice little treat afterwards!

Casey had a terrific first day of her stay with us.  She started her morning off with a nice walk on the back trail with her pals Sophie and Kai On her walk, Casey spent a lot of her time sniffing around and running through the deep snow off the trail, but she made sure to take some time to play around with her friends too. When she got back to her kennel, Casey curled up on her bed and went to sleep. When it was time for Casey to go outside with her group, she ran outside and sprung into action playing with her pals. Casey first played around with Magic the husky until she decided to just sniff around for the rest of the group. Before I put her back in her kennel I gave her a treat for being a good girl. For Casey’s extra attention this afternoon we spent some time in reception with Alyssa. When I went to get Casey from her kennel she ran up to the front as fast as she could, while I trailed behind her. As soon as we reached reception I went over to the treat jar to grab Casey a few treats in return for a few commands; she really enjoyed showing off how well she can give a paw, sit, lie down and catch. After getting lots of treats, Casey and I spent some time cuddling in one of the big comfy chairs before she got down to search through the toy bin. After she found a toy to play with, I played with her for a few minutes before it was time to go back to her kennel.

Macie had a really relaxed and casual day today. For her walk this morning, she got to spend some time with her pal Cascabelle. When they all got out to the field, on the way to the back trail, Macie stopped a few times to rub her face in the snow before they crossed the bridge onto the main path. On the trail, Macie spent most of her time sniffing around the trees and walking around in the deep snow but she did stop a few times to give Tiffani a few kisses. When Macie got back to her kennel, she curled up on her cot and took a little nap. When it was time to go outside with her group, Macie wandered outside, gave everyone a good sniff then went over to the fence to explore around. She seemed to really enjoy the warm weather, and lifted her face towards the breeze, following the scents it carried. After sniffing around for a few minutes, I went over to see Macie and to spend some time giving her a few cuddles. After spending some time cuddled up, Macie decided she wanted to go back inside, so I let her back into her kennel.

Kai had a very playful day today. For her walk this morning she got to spend some time with her good pals Casey and Sophie. When they got out to the back trail, Kai ran through the deep snow beside Casey like the were racing each other. As they trio walked along, Kai ventured off on her own by the trees while the other girls walked along beside Tiffani. When they got back inside, Kai curled up on her bed and went to sleep. For her extra attention this morning, Kai and I spent some time in reception. When we got to reception, Kai ran over to the toy bin and I went over to the treat jar to grab her some treats, when I got back over to her she had chosen her toy and was ready for some playtime. As I honked the piggy for her she ran over to me, grabbed it and ran away to go hide it somewhere; it was absolutely adorable. When she was done playing, Kai and I did some basic commands for some treats before we spent some time cuddled up on the chair together. When it was time to go back to her kennel, Kai ran onto her bed and lied down for a little rest. For her groups today, Kai spent some time playing with her pals Vega, Kizmet, Korvo and Cascabelle. As they all ran around the yard together, Kai chased Kizmet as the others fled to do their own thing, Kizmet lie down in the snow to roll around and Kai rolled with him. Before it was time to go back inside, Kai and I spent some time cuddling on the group while we watch the group play around.
