Casey has been a real pleasure to spend so
much time with throughout her visit. We got to enjoy her extra attention time
together again today. She knew when I came to her kennel and let her run down
the hall that she was going to head up front. She loves hanging out in the
reception area more than any other room in our building. Today she was
especially curious as to what was on the other side of the front door. When
Kinsey came in she got super excited and got lots of pets and cuddles from her.
Casey was pleased to relax on the floor and take a little nap in the company of
staff. She was also very pleased to receive endless amounts of pats and
cuddles. Casey’s favourite part of her extra attention is all the treats she
receives. She gets by with sitting and looking cute for her treats. When I
asked for a paw today, she spun in a circle and then sat back down. I got a
good laugh out of this and then gave her the cookie anyway. In the yard, Casey
was very intrigued by all the fresh snow that’s been falling throughout the day.
She kept her nose to the ground for the majority of her time outside.
Occasionally, she would dig at the ground trying to uncover smells from beneath
the fresh powder. Casey also enjoyed the company of her friend Sophie again
today. The pair likes to kiss and cuddle against one another while I offer them
pets and cuddles.
Teddie could not have been happier with the
fresh snow we have (and still are) receiving today. We are supposed to get
15cm! In the yard, we had just a couple for his first outing, but it was just
enough for him to roll around in and enjoy the coolness. Teddie kept very busy
rolling in the snow until his buddy Kyah came dancing over asking for some
games. Teddie was more than happy to give in to the pretty girl and play around
with her. The two had so much fun boxing around. Teddie loves to push Kyah down
to the ground and then bounce around her while she gets back up. This only
encourages Kyah to run off, starting races. Teddie had so much fun racing
around with Kyah, Justice and Riley today. These four dogs had major zoomies
and enjoyed every minute of their time sprinting in circles around the yard.
Teddie couldn’t have been happier with his busy outing today. When it was time
to come in, he shook off in his kennel and it looked like it was snowing
inside!
Kizmet never fails to put a smile on my
face. This guy is so full of spunk, and personality. Today newcomer, Bush,
fascinated him. Bush is an older malamute husky who was pleased to partake in
the busy group. Kizmet was overly friendly in welcoming him, Kiz wouldn’t stop
asking him to play until finally Bush gave in and goofed around with Kiz. Kiz
was thrilled to dance around with this older guy. He was very polite not to
play too rough but did do lots of play bowing and bouncing around as well as
endless amounts of rolling around. All his rolling got the attention of his
good pal Kyah. Kyah was hilarious dancing on top of him howling away while Kiz
continued to roll around. These shenanigans drew the attention of Sophie who
Kizmet was fond of. Kiz hopped up and began mouthing at Sophie in a very
playful way. The two chatted back and forth and alternated taking turns rolling
in the snow while playing around. Needles to say, Kiz had an action-packed fun
filled day with all his buddies.
Kai had such a fun day today! I haven’t
seen Kai so bouncy and energetic throughout her whole visit so far. Windy, a
young golden retriever was what brought Kai out of her shell. I think all the
fresh snow falling made her extra frisky too. Kai spent her first chunk of
outdoor time by my side, supervising the young ones get up to their
shenanigans. Kai loves being pet and cuddled in the yard so she was very happy
to park herself at my feet and enjoy the attention while her friends goofed
around. Part way through her outdoor time, Windy raced by us and her tail
wacked Kai in the face. This got Kai up and she was quick to bolt after her.
Kai was then bouncing all around like a deer bounding through a field. She
looked so cute flying after Windy. Windy was more than happy to have Kai paying
so much attention to her. The pair enjoyed lots of time together, running and
bouncing back and forth around the yard. After loads of playing Kai took a
break from Windy to check out what her other friends were up to. She didn’t
show as much interest in her other mates as she did in Windy, so she returned
to my side for more cuddles. At this point, Kai had a nice layer of snow built
up on her head and back. She looked so cute with the light dusting of snow
across her shiny, black fur.
Laika is such a sweet, loving girl. She is
always happy and full of positive energy. Whenever it is her turn to head
outdoors she patiently waits at her kennel door and then bolts down the hall
and into the yard once it is opened for her. In the yard, Laika loves to say
hello to each and every dog before investigating the territory. She is a very
polite girl, saying kind hi’s and hello’s to everyone before putting her nose
to the ground to sniff and explore. Whenever Laika comes up from sniffing to
say hello, she runs towards me with a big smile on her face and her whole rear
end wiggling back and forth. She never fails to bump into my side and then stop
right next to me, asking for pets and cuddles. Today, Laika was pleasantly
surprised to have a new group mate named Percy join in on the fun. Percy loves
to run around and Laika was all for this. She was keen to join in on all the
racing around, and even got herself to the front of the chase. Once she got to
the front, she looked around realizing there was no one to chase anymore. Laika
then looped around to the back of the running so that she could race after her
friends again, and slowly make her way to the front once more. After lots of
running and bouncing with her friends, she broke off to hang out with me once
more before heading back indoors.
Percy had a five star day with us. The
group he was in today could not have fit his play style and personality better. The moment we got outdoors
he spotted me heading through the gate with a Frisbee in my hand. Before the
rest of the group could even take note in what I was holding, I had to launch
it across the yard so that he, Chloe, and Stella wouldn’t maul me! As it was
flying in the air across the yard I watched Percy get to the front of the chase
and retrieve it. Stella and Chloe were very jealous, starting a massive race
around the yard after Percy. This fun didn’t last long as Percy lost grip of
the toy and Chloe snatched it from him. The game then took a turn, and Percy
was after Chloe. Chloe was so determined to keep possession of this Frisbee, as
she is with any toy. Never the less, Percy continued to frolic on her heels in
hopes that she may lose grip or slip up and drop it. The two raced around the
yard in circles for ages and ages until I introduced a second toy into the mix.
The rope toy was a good distraction for Percy, who then chases Stella all over.
This gave Chloe the opportunity to play one on one with me. Chloe wasn’t going
to play fetch, as she knew there was a chance she wouldn’t get her toy back.
Instead, we played an intense game of tug. Chloe really gave me a run for my
money, pulling me all around the yard with such a tight grip on her orange toy.
I ended up giving up, letting Chloe take all the pride. She paraded around the
yard with the Frisbee flipped up on her head after this. I got such a good laugh
watching her run around with partial vision as if nothing was amiss. Meanwhile,
Percy was still looping around the yard hot on Stella’s heels. Stella loves a
good chase and Percy was the best match for her. Windy was keen to get in on
the games too, which also drew the attention of Kai. Before Percy knew it, he
had three very pretty girls playing around with him. He was very chatty, as
usual, and continued to bounce left and right around all his friends ensuring
to stay right in on all the action that was taking place.
Another day well spent for our favorite daycare
ladies Issy and Mocha. Upon arrival, they trotted down the hallway and into the
kitchen to find warm fluffy beds just waiting for them! However, it wasn’t long
before it was their turn for their morning trail walk and before I could even
open the door, Mocha was howling and waiting impatiently for me right at the
door. Can you tell that’s her favourite part of the day? They were pleased to
meet Golden girl Windy who was just as excited to sniff out that trail, Windy
sure did keep the pace up and Issy and Mocha found themselves trying to keep
up. A quick rest later and they were heading out the door for some
socialization where they met another new face named Charlie. Mocha and Issy
graciously accepted Charlie’s kisses and Mocha even jumped down into a play bow
giving him the invite to play! While Charlie followed Issy around the yard for
her usual laps, this gave Mocha the opportunity to have a good roll in the
freshly fallen snow; the signature happy Mocha move!
Macie, the forever-smiling girl, joined
Husky friends Vega and Korvo for an entertaining morning of fun! Macie loves a
good play out in the yard and feeds off the energy of those surrounding her.
Well lucky for her she had two of the silliest pups around and as Korvo
excitedly chased Vega around the yard, Macie was right up there with him and
they enjoyed her playful company! She was full of energy this morning and
surprisingly kept up speed with the speed-demons themselves! But the chase was
cut short when she met another Husky friend names Bush. Bush is a newcomer and
Macie happily greeted him with a wiggle of her tail and made him feel very
comfortable with his new surroundings; these two loved one another!
All of that freshly fallen cold snow meant
some hesitation from some of our little four-legged friends to going outside
today! Luckily for Rufus and Sherman, they have fancy winter jackets that keep
them warm and encourage them to play with no hesitation. Just by showing them
their jackets, they get all excited knowing they are heading out and happily
let us bundle them up! Outside it was full speed for these two little ones; off
they went galloping into the far yard with newly found friend Ringo not far
behind! Their forever-flowing energy always gets the rest of the gang to follow
behind them and they really needed some encouragement today! Lola wanted
nothing to do with the snow, out for some business but then she was ready to
head back inside and barked up a storm so loud that I could hear her from the
far yard! Luckily she had Julie to back her up and the two of them howled all
morning long to get my attention; it really wasn’t that cold! Pearl didn’t seem
to think so; she joined Rufus and Sherman in the far yard and spent her morning
running circles around me as she dug her little head in and out of the snow in
exploration. Moving is key to staying warm she thought, and this little one
didn’t stop moving all morning long! Merlin is another little daycare friend
who didn’t seem to mind the snow; in fact, he loved it! He spent his time
whipping around the yard, kicking up snow behind him. This little guy never
disappoints, he is always full of such fun-loving energy and much like Rufus
and Sherman, he made the most of his time outside today and loved every single
minute of it! This handsome boy also takes some wonderful photos, who could
resist that handsome face of his!
