Piper and Ruby were a very energetic duo throughout the entire day today! Piper was so very excited when she knew that it was her time to go out for her morning walk. She sat patiently by her kennel door but still showed me her voice so that I knew she wanted to go. Ruby was just as excited but she wasn't quite as patient. She was trotting circles around her kennel in anticipation. When I went to get her she greeted me with a bounce and a face full of kisses before going to wait for Piper. Piper darted out of her kennel as soon as she could. She turned back once she got to the end of the hall as if she just remembered that she forgot to say hello to me. After a quick kiss from her, I grabbed Susan's dog, Wally, from his kennel and off we went! Ruby and Piper were immediately all over Wally. They were completely attached to him right from the get go, especially Ruby. Ruby loved getting right in his face and giving him a ton of kisses. This led to a little bit of a playing which Ruby, Wally and even Piper took part in. Piper loved to paw at Wally while Ruby bounced around the two of them. Eventually they got all the playing out of their systems and decided to focus on the walk. Piper was obsessed with sniffing. She had her nose stuck to the ground for the most part of the rest of their walk. Sometimes she would come say hello to me but she was more focused on all of the smells. Ruby wanted to go as fast as she could. She spent a lot of her time at the end of her leash but at the same time, she was very good at remembering not to pull. More often then not, she enjoyed coming back to walk beside me for a short bit so that she could get an extra pet here and there. When it came time for their outdoor play group, Ruby was very excited to get outside and see her friends. This time she didn't waste any time greeting me but instead she raced right out of the door. Piper followed behind as fast as she could. Once Piper got into the yard she immediately began doing laps and sniffing each part of the yard. She was also very interested in seeing who was in her group for today. After a good overall sniff, it was time to play! Piper met Lilo in the yard and they clicked right away. Piper was constantly pawing and playing with Lilo. Lilo would race around her while Piper simply pawed and play bowed at her. She loved following her around wherever she went and also tried to play tackle her quite a few times. Ruby did a little bit of everything once she got outside. Her main concern was her friends, she made sure that she went to greet absolutely everyone that was in the yard, including me of course. I got a huge kiss from her right before she started playing.

Lilo and Hudson couldn't contain their excitement at any point of the day. When it came time for their outdoor play group, the two of them were completely full of beans! Lilo was doing laps of her kennel when I went to get her. She was spinning around so fast I was surprised that she wasn't dizzy. As soon as she got out of her kennel, Lilo raced up and down the hallways to see all of the other dogs in her hall. After doing this a few times, she realized the hallway door was open and decided to race into the yard. Her speed was on full as soon as she got into the yard. She ran around each and every dog and yard as fast as she possibly could. Every time she sprinted by someone, they'd try to catch up but eventually they'd always give up because she was so fast. However, once I let out Hudson, he matched her energy level to a T. Hudson took out the door and immediately started racing after Lilo. He had a few times where he would catch up and then get distracted by a toy in the yard. Eventually he did catch up to her and it was game on. Hudson and Lilo were in a full blown play tackle by the time I saw them again. They looked so funny because Hudson would be chasing after Lilo, then they would play tackle one another but at the same time they were both still trying to run. They ended up looking like a big snowball rolling around. Eventually they both went their separate ways. Hudson became completely focused on the rope toy that I had brought out for him in the yard. As soon as I picked it up he was by my side and ready to play. We played tug-of-war for the longest time and boy is he ever strong! Most of the times he won but I somehow managed to win a few times as well. Every time he won, Hudson would race away with the rope toy as fast as he could before racing right back to me so that we could play once again, silly guy. When we had finally ended our match of tug-of-war, I would've thought that Hudson would be tired but instead I saw him running around with yet another friend. Everyone in his group loved him so it wasn't very hard for him to find someone to play with. For the rest of his group time he played nonstop and was finally tired right at the end. The two of us sat together so that I could give him a back scratch. Lilo might have even had more energy after playing with Hudson if that's even possible. Her new friend of choice was Piper. Lilo loved Piper and especially enjoyed running circles around her while showing off her beautiful voice. This eventually led to a little play tackle every so often. No matter what Lilo was doing she'd always come back to find Piper. Lilo finished off the group time with toys. She found a bone in the yard and it became her new prized possession. As soon as she picked it up, she raced around the yard, while proudly showing it off to all of her friends. After running around the yard a few times, she brought it back to me so that we could play a quick game of fetch before going back inside. Lilo never had to worry about someone getting to it first because she raced after it as fast as a bullet. Overall, Lilo and Hudson both had very fun filled and active days today!

Kouza was in a very curious mood this morning. As soon as we got out into the yard she spend quite some time checking over the other dogs. I’m not sure that’s what she meant to do, but as Kouza was walking around she met up with Sherman and Rufus. She decided to give them a quick once over. Shortly after that Bogie, Bella, and Jake joined them. Bogie ended up under Kouza’s nose and she proceeded to check him over. When everyone moved on to check out more of the yard, Kouza took a moment to get her bearings and scratch her chin. With that done, she headed off with her nose to the ground determined to find something. Kouza followed her nose all the way out to the far yard. She started to follow along the fence line. As Kouza was going around she came across Peep. They spent a little time with their heads close together checking out the little bit of plant life left along the fence. Kouza then continued on her way following the fence. She made it to the far fence and decided that was enough of following the fence path. Kouza cut across the yard nose still close to the ground.  After doing a little more exploring she found her way over to me. Kouza gave me a once over and was happy to get some pets. That done she headed out to the part of the fence she hadn’t checked out yet. Later when it was time for her extra attention Kouza couldn’t wait to head up front. She headed straight for Susan who was sitting at the computer. Kouza very quickly zeroed in on the treats in her pocket, not that she was allowed any. When she realized she wasn’t getting any food she settled for some pets and love. Once Kouza had had enough attention from Susan she decided to go for a tour around the room. I went digging in the toy box to see if there were any that she might enjoy. Eventually a blue toy with some banana stuffed inside won. Kouza had a blast trying to get out all of the banana out. When she finished she made her way over to me for some pets. It wasn’t long before Kouza had turned around so I could give her some bum rubs.

Sherman and Rufus got so excited as soon as I put on their coats. They then started to bounce around impatiently waiting for me to release them to the great outdoors. Sherman and Rufus went running off into the yard only to stop shortly after distracted by a smell in the snow. They were then joined by Kouza, who spent some time checking them over. When she moved onto other dogs Sherman Rufus continued on their way. Rufus made his way over to me and stood staring at me. I gave him some pets and he was happy to go back to exploring. Sherman ended up back tracking, so he could check something out by the fence. Rufus looked up and noticed his brother wasn’t next to him and so stood standing and staring at him until Sherman rejoined him. The two of them started to make their way out to the far yard when Jake stopped them. They all spent some time saying hi and seeing how everyone was doing. With that done, Sherman and Rufus continued on their way out to the far yard. They ended up joining a bunch of the others over by the fence to do some exploring in the snow. Kouza then caught Sherman’s attention. Curious he went over to see what she was checking out. Sherman didn’t stay with her long and soon headed out to check out his own things. Rufus on the other hand, was taking a break from exploring and was running around the yard. He then spotted Sherman over by the tunnel and went racing over to see if maybe he might want to run as well. Sherman was still all about the exploring so Rufus went running off by himself. He went back to check on Sherman a couple times, staying long enough to see what he was looking at, at that moment before running off once more. Rufus then became very distracted by some antics in the main yard. He stood staring out that way very focused. Rufus even ignored the ball I rolled his way. Sherman went over to see what his brother was looking at, but didn’t find it overly interesting and so went to go and stare out the back gate at the woods. Rufus and Sherman are the cutest little guys! They are such a blast to cuddle and play with during their extra attention. We headed to the playroom and both of them were racing in circles, trying to sniff everything at once. They were so excited! Rufus wandered over to cuddle with me, while Sherman proceeded to look for toys. He settled down to chew on a rubber bone, and of course this made Rufus jealous, so I had to find him his own toy to chew on. We were then joined by Tiffani and Tayler. Rufus and Sherman were delighted by all of the attention they were getting! Both of them climbed over everybody's laps and got plenty of cuddles.

Monkey was so excited for it to be group time. He went charging out of the kennel and out into the yard. Monkey started to go racing off when something in the snow caught his attention and stopped to spend some time checking it out. When he finished with that he took off running. Once more he didn’t make it too far before something distracted him. Monkey then had his nose to the ground and was off in search of whatever it was that had distracted him. He did eventually make it into the far yard where he was off in search of more interesting things. Monkey ended up over by the buried rock, where he did a very thorough investigation of it. He finished with that and went trotting off around the yard nose still to the ground. Monkey was very focused as he went around the yard. He didn’t seem to have a plan, but instead just followed where his nose lead him. Monkey barely even noticed when Justice went trotting after him. Justice trotted along after him for a little while, before Monkey really took a minute to greet him. Not too long after that Kai decided to join them as well. Monkey then decided to take a break from exploring to go running off with the other two tagging along. He lead them out to the main yard where he left Justice and Kai. Monkey checked on what some of the other dogs were up to. He made his way over to me for some pats. This got him all riled up and he went bouncing off around the yard. Monkey was in such a great mood for his extra attention today. We headed up to the playroom and he immediately started running around to check things out. He paused to look out the window while I grabbed some toys from the bin. Monkey raced over to see what I had found. He quickly sat down and patiently waited for me to throw the ball, though when I actually tossed it, Monkey just bounced off in a different direction, looking for something else. He then flopped over and had a good roll, which was complete with a belly rub.

Macie was pretty happy about it being group time. We made our way out to the main yard where she took stock of the yard. Macie then put her nose to the ground and was off in search of something. She soon found herself being followed around by Lexi, which Macie didn’t seem to mind. After going all over the main yard Macie made her way out to the far yard, her nose still hovering over the ground. At this point Macie was on her as Lexi went off to do her own thing.  Shortly after she made her way through the gate Macie came to a standstill at a particularly interesting section of snow. So much so that she started to kick her back legs, sending snow flying behind her. Once it had been thoroughly investigated Macie continued on her way around the yard. She decided to follow the fence around the yard and when she had made her way all around Macie headed back to the main yard. Back in the main yard Macie met up with Tonka. She spent some time checking him over. It wasn’t long before he was returning the favour. Lexi made her way over and this time Macie spent some time saying hi to her. She was distracted from the others when Monkey went running past. Macie then found herself face to face with Justice. Having seen the whole group Macie came over to me for some attention and bum rubs. She then went off to see Tonka. It wasn’t long before he was play bowing and the two of them were bouncing around.

Kai wasted no time in going trotting out to the far yard. The rest of us were barley out the door to outside and she was already out there with her nose to the ground. Kai made her way around the yard searching for something interesting. She took a little break when Justice went running by. Curious about what he was up to, Kai followed after him. When she'd seen all she wanted to, Kai quickly headed off to do her own thing once more. Kai ended up over by one of the big rocks, which is currently mostly buried in snow. She spent some time going over it. Next thing I know Kai is off running around the yard. She came to a sudden stop when she heard a noise. Kai stood staring out beyond the fence line trying to figure it out. She then looked back to see what the rest of the group was up to. When neither had her attention anymore Kai decided to make her way over to me for some attention and pets. She loved the ear rubs in particular. Kai was happy to spend some time hanging out and watching what some of the others were doing on the yard. Finally she couldn’t watch Justice follow Monkey around any longer with out going and getting involved herself. We all ended up in the main yard where Kai saw what some of the others were up to. When she noticed Macie getting some pets from me she had to make her way over to get some more for herself. Kai was especially excited for her extra attention this morning. A little while after walks I went to get her and found her completely snuggled up on her bed. She seemed to be having a morning snooze before getting up and active once again. However, when I went into her kennel she quickly shot up and greeted me. The two of us sat in her kennel for a little bit before going up to the front reception area. Kai made it clear that she wanted a belly rub as she plopped down on her side and showed me her belly. Once we got up to the front, Kai knew that it was treat time. I had her show me all of her tricks that she could do. Kai showed off her wonderful paws, sits and downs. After getting spoiled with treats, I tried to get Kai to join me in playing with some toys. Although she gave them a good overall sniff, Kai didn’t actually want to play with them. For the rest of her extra attention time we cuddled once again.

Lola had yet another wonderful daycare day today! She was so excited to be back that she went racing down the hallway as she got here. As soon as she saw any of us, Lola was right by our sides and ready to give us kisses. She made sure to spend some time greeting everyone once she did that she was ready to go cuddle up in a kennel. When it came time for her morning walk, Lola was up and ready to go. This morning she walked with another little spitfire friend that kept up with Lola’s pace. The two of them got along right away and were both very excited to tread through the snow on the back trail. Lola spent a lot of her time at the end of her leash with Lilo. They seemed to be trying to go faster than one another the whole time and definitely kept me on my toes. Throughout her walk, Lola kept stopping to sniff and roll around on the snow. Lola was very giddy throughout the entire day, especially for her outdoor play group. When I went to get her from her kennel she was completely snuggled up on a big comfy bed. However, once she opened her eyes and saw me she bounced up immediately and was ready to start playing. Throughout her play group, Lola was all over the place. Once she first went outside, she greeted all of the other dogs in the yard before coming to sit with me in the snow. Lola had the habit of rolling around in the snow today, but she only seemed to do it when she was near me so that I could give her a belly rub at the same time. We ended up snuggling for a good part of her group but she was also quite the social butterfly today. Susan’s dogs Ricky, Wally and Glory, as well as our rescue bloodhound, Jake, were all very interested in her. They would follow her around everywhere she went which kept her busy. I think Lola liked the attention though because she kept jumping around with them. Later on during her group she and I played fetch for a little while just before going back inside for the afternoon. Lola did a few fast laps around the yard to end off her group and was then ready for another nap.
