Allie was very chatty today when I joined her in the cattery. She was hiding in the very top of her suite, peering down at me and meowing. I sat on the floor and called her down, and she hopped down and came over for some head butts and scratches. She rubbed up against my legs asking for all the attention she could get. This of course didn’t last too long with Miss Allie and soon she scaled the cat tree right to the top. I think she enjoys taunting the other cat Rango by sitting outside his door, making him want to come out even more. She stayed on top of the cat tree gazing out the window, she accepted a few more chin scratches before she had enough.

Two of our most loveable and playful daycare guests Finnigan and Jemma had an epic playtime during their first outing. Even though Finn has visited with us every day this week, he still had endless amounts of energy and was thrilled to see his silly pal Jemma. He knew he was in for a good time when he saw that beautiful face of hers. Sure enough, Finn and Jemma literally leaped after one another into the far yard in anticipation for a good wrestle in the snow; it was hard to keep up with these two as they ran laps around me! Jemma met some little ones out there today as well, and while Finn was off chasing Charly and the ball, Jemma spent some time rolling around on her back with Timbits and Merida playfully barking from above; the signature Jemma move! Both Finn and Jemma loved little Tim, who was just as much delighted to horse around with these big yet silly pups. Towards the end of group, Finn, Jemma and Charly had one last wrestle and they rolled around with long legs and arms flying all over the place like a tornado until I was finally able to herd them back inside!

Coco and Timbits are another two who never seem to run out of a supply of energy, especially little Tim. He is a busy boy and today he had some new friends to play with and this really brought out his silly side. Coco enjoyed their company as well but sure knew how to let them know when they got too close, too much puppy energy for her! However, that frisky energy seemed to rub off on her a little while later; after a quick roll in the snow, she chased after Tim and enticed him to play and the two of them had their own wrestle in the adjacent yard. All this commotion got the attention of Maya and Rocky, another sweet pair in for daycare today. Rocky was pleased to find a comfy spot out of action; forget the puppies, he thought, but it was entertaining for him to watch from afar nonetheless! Rocky enjoyed some cuddles and head rubs and was quite content just where he was. Maya, on the other hand, as we all know definitely has a frisky side and just couldn’t resist joining in on the fun. She always likes to assess the situation first as if she is going to make a calculated move but then all of a sudden she will burst out of nowhere and jump right in. She especially loved Charly, she remembers them playing when they were both little and didn’t miss the opportunity to play!

Another day well spent for our little lady Chloe with all of her favourite toys. When it was time for her to head out, she whipped outside but couldn’t find a ball, so she immediately turned around and jumped up on the door impatiently waiting for me to come out with the goods. Don’t worry Chloe, I would never disappoint and she was thrilled to see the blue squeaky ball in my hand just for her. She leaped into the air and caught it on my first throw, then it was off for her usual prance around the yard in pride but today she had some competition; ball obsessed daycare pal Percy. The first half of their outing had Percy frantically following Chloe with the anticipation that she would drop it. Chloe let her guard down for just a moment, and sure enough Percy swooped right in and stole it. She immediately looked up at me with a face of confusion, how could I have let this happen. Well, the rest of their outing now had Chloe frantically following Percy around which gave Percy much satisfaction. Finally, I couldn’t take the sad face anymore and got the ball back for her!

While Percy and Chloe had balls on the mind, Kai was enjoying her time taking in all of the fresh air on this mild morning. Every time I looked over, she had a great big smile on her face, such a sweet and grateful girl that one is! It was time for a good roll in the snow she thought and gave herself a good back massage, in fact she did this intermittently throughout the morning. Then she felt like playing and all of a sudden flew through the air at Nyxx as an enticement to play; the snow had everyone feeling frisky today. Much like Kai, Tsavo and Laika had great big smiles written all over their face; in fact, it was a very relaxing group in general and everyone was just happy to be outside with their favourite friends. Tsavo especially loved Nyxx’s company and tried everything in her power to try and get him to play with her. Nyxx loved the attention, especially when she would jump up on his back in enticement. Laika was off making her usual laps around the yard; she is truly a lab at heart, a curious girl but the sweetest thing you will ever come across. When she was finally done with the exploration, she tried to see if she could keep up with Chloe and Percy but soon realized they were much too fast so decided to stay close to me and gave Kai some nose nuzzles. The perfect way to end the morning with all of these sweet ladies by my side to keep my company!

Kai enjoyed a puzzle today for her extra attention time. She and Leah sat down in the kitchen with the pink paw-shaped puzzle, where a few treats were hidden. Kai spent some time nosing around, opening the little compartments to find the treasures inside! She did such a good job, the smarty pants! They then made their way out into the reception area where Kai was happy to have lots of pets and cuddles from Leah, Kinsey and Katie. There's nothing Kai loves more than attention from her friends!

Max and Sadie never have a dull day. Today the pair didn’t stop moving for their entire group time. Max started off with begging Sadie to wrestle, which of course she gave in to. The pair then rolled around together and jumped all over one another until Sadie decided she had enough. She then leapt up and flew off across the yard, looking for a chase. Max was more than happy to bolt after her full speed. From here, the pair never stopped running! Max got in the lead rather fast, and led Sadie around the yard over and over. They flew through the gates and around all the obstacles with ease. Max was out running Sadie quite a bit and continued to run and run hoping she would catch up. Sadie had to stop and take a breather, while Max continued to zip and zoom. Finally, Sadie joined back in and continued to bolt after him full speed. This carried on until they told me they were ready to head indoors, which is a rare occurrence. Both Max and Sadie made their way to the side door and sat down with their tongues hanging out asking for their beds and water. They made their way inside and plopped onto their cloud beds and had a great snooze.

Rufus and Sherman were full of beans today! The pair were so playful and active today, more so than any day yet. This mild weather must bring out the crazy sides of them. The pair bolted out the yard with their ears flapping in the wind and instantly began zooming around the yard. Sherman tends to lead the way with his little brother Rufus hot on his heels. Rufus enjoys following Sherman all around, and giving in to whatever shenanigans Sherman requests. The pair had so much fun chasing each other around as well as wrestling. They love pouncing all over one another and then trying to box. Their small legs don’t suit boxing well, so they tend to stick closer to the ground, muzzling at one another and grabbing each other’s excess skin. They were so thrilled with all the fun and games going on they even got in on some action with Julie in her wheelchair, and fellow group mates Bo & Peep. Rufus and Sherman were so pooped by the end of their group time, they were ready to climb into their comfy bed and have a nice snooze.

Cai is always pleased to arrive, and lets us know by chatting away as he and his sister run down the hall. Cai was excited to get outside and see who was in his group today. He was rather intrigued by all the huskies he spotted. Cai made his way to each and every husky, a little suspicious of the large clan. He was so happy when he saw Merck come zooming around the corner. Merck too is a German Shepherd, which made Cai feel a little more at home Cai was excited to meet Vega today, who is usually Tsavo’s best buddy. The two hit it off and had some good runs around the yard. Other group mates including Merck, as well as Lupe and Korvo were in on the action too. Cai wasn’t as sure about the large group play as he was with his one on one time so he broke off to get some cuddles from me. After being pat and cuddled for ages Cai finally met up with his group mates once more for some fun on the tunnel. This lead to another chase, which he briefly joined in on before following his nose around the yard to do some sniffing and exploring.

Teddie and Kizmet had the time of their lives today! I seemed to have recalled during their last visit, they loved playing with the younger more playful dogs including Kyah the husky. I was so pleased when they were in a group together today, and my memories were true! Teddie and Kizmet were beyond thrilled with Kyah right off the bat. The brother’s tag teamed her inviting her to play and play more and more. Kyah wasn’t sure at first, but finally gave in to the boys. Kyah loved Kizmet a lot and continuously pounce all over him. Teddie was a bit of a bugger flirting with her but she enjoyed the attention nonetheless. Teddy and Kiz spent their entire outdoor time dancing around with miss Kyah as well as bolting after her full speed. They took a brief break to roll around, of course. Teddie and Kyah were having some tunnel fun as Kiz briefly broke off to meet up with Spencer. Kizmet loved boxing with Spencer and was even more thrilled when friends Kimi, Kyah and Teddie all joined in. Needless to say Teddie and Kiz had such a great day; the photos say it all!

Teddy had a time and a half today. He found quite the perfect match today, Macie. Teddy was surprised to have someone who wanted to chase him more than he wanted to chase everyone else. Teddy is definitely the leader when it comes to herding and chasing which is why he was shocked when Macie was hot on his heels for his whole outdoors time. He seemed to enjoy the challenge as it encouraged him to run faster and try to dodge her. Teddy was even running through the tunnel, which he rarely does, as well as leaping over it and bolting around the fences outside to see if he could shake her. He continued to run from her and as soon as she did stop chasing him, he looped back around and pounced right on her asking for more. The pair was for sure an odd couple, but they had fun nonetheless. Macie was so thrilled to meet her match and continued to pursue him until he stopped running and did a bit of flirting. The pair was pretty cute wiggling around one another and giving each other ear kisses. Of course this didn’t last long as they quickly returned to their running and racing.

Spencer started his group time off with his nose to the ground. I was a bit bummed out to see him ignoring all the playing, as I really love watching him goof around. I thought too soon, as moments later he met up with one of his best buddies Kyah. Kyah spotted Spencer lying down in the snow and she was quick to approach him. She wasn’t going to let him turn down her invite to play as she persistently pawed at him and howled at him asking him to please get up and play. Spencer took the offer and quickly came out of his shell and became super goofy. I love watching Spencer play around as his mop flows left and right as he jumps around. Kizmet wasn’t far behind the action between he and Kyah and soon the duo became a trio. These guys were having so much fun on the tunnel as well as racing around the yard that the rest of their group mates found it hard to resist. Soon enough Spencer was right in on the mass of all the games. He was having so much fun with everyone, but still ended up breaking off with just Kyah. Kyah and he had loads more fun in the snow and on the tunnel, which once again was soon accompanied by Kizmet. Spencer couldn’t have had a better day. The mild weather really brings the energy out of all the pups!

Kimi is always such a character when she is here. This lady couldn’t have been happier to spend her day in the staffroom. I think at this point, she practically refuses to go in a kennel. Which is no problem at all since the staff room is always open for more friends. Kimi loves sprawling out on the cold tile, and really enjoys when the staff comes in and out offering her pets and cuddles. In the yard today Kimi was pleasantly surprised to be a part of a rather energetic group. She was right in on the action today, which got me smiling. Kimi loved watching Teddie, Kizmet, and Kyah play and she spent a large portion of her outdoor time refereeing their games. Kimi isn’t afraid to get chatty when things aren’t going her way and the dogs do tend to listen to her parenting. She loved all the shenanigans on the tunnel as well as the racing around the yard. Kimi was right in on the fast zoomies across the yard, led by fellow husky friend, Kyah. Towards the end of her outdoor time she spotted her mate Teddie rolling about in the snow, which really intrigued her. She made her way to him and danced around him as he gave himself a snow bath asking him to please play with her. He briefly gave in and they frolicked about for a while until it was time to head indoors.
