It was another day well spent by our frisky four-legged friend Finnigan who was in for his usual daycare. A long trail walk with ball-loving pal Molly was the perfect start to his morning and he could hardly wait to get back out with his morning group even though it was quite bitter! Finn couldn’t be bothered with the cold; he has a nice furry black coat that keeps him warm and he sure does play enough to get the heat flowing. He was excited to see big guy Jake out in the yard again, he had so much fun with him last time and the two immediately met up and started to wrestle to pick up right where they left off. Vega quickly joined in and the two of them horsed around with Jake like he was the older brother trying to fend off his little siblings. But of course, he loved the attention and Finn really knows how to bring out the silly side in him. Lots of floppy ears and cheeks for Finn to grab a hold of! Finn also had best pal and fellow kennel-mate Charly to keep him busy; when he wasn’t causing trouble with Jake he was antagonizing Charly by stealing her beloved ball! Finn decided he didn’t want to come back inside, so sure enough he went for a second round with his next group of friends!

Kouza was excited to see my face bright and early this morning and I was just as pleased to be greeted by this special girl. She was very perky first thing and was standing at the front of her kennel when I came in; ready to head outside she was! After a quick stroll in the yard, she was excited to come up front for her extra attention time; her favourite part of the day. She was greeted and cuddled by most of our staff and the affection continued when she joined me again back outside with her pals. I took a seat in the snow and called her over, I wasn’t expecting her to climb up on my lap but she did just that and showered me with big sloppy kisses, she found this quite amusing! She spent the rest of her morning exploring the yard with best pal Jersey and of course gave me that quirky turn of her face every time I called her name! When it came time for Kouza’s extra attention she was very excited to go. When I went to get her she was curled up into a little ball on her comfy bed but as soon as I called her, her ears shot up and she knew it was time to come up and see all of us. Kouza got up out of bed and trotted right to the front reception area. Once she got up here she gave it a good overall sniff before starting to find all of her friends. As she passed by our staff she made sure to greet them and of course see if they had treats for her. Eventually I had her come over to me once she was done sniffing everyone so that she could have some of her carrots. Kouza sat like the pretty girl she is and made sure to jump her little paws up as well to see if she could get extras. I gave her a few more treats before I tried to get her to play around with a few toys that we have up here. There was a big green stuffed snake that Kouza was very interested in. She sniffed it all over as soon as I gave it to her and dragged it around for a little while. Sometimes I would put it on her back and she’d grab it so that she could throw it up in the air and play with it further. She was also quite interested in a little spinning toy that she could listen to and follow wherever it spun to. To end of her extra attention, Kouza and I sat and cuddled for a little bit. I made sure to give her a nice head and back scratch which she loved.

Monkey has been enjoying his visit with us so far; he is such a sweet boy and was extremely excited to see me first thing this morning. He gave me a good look and sniff before he came running over for a morning hug and head-rub. Out he went for a quick tour of the yard with friends; although shy, he was happy to let the others come over for a sniff! By the time he went out for his second outing, he was much more confident and ready to explore some more. But first it was a morning trail-walk; he looked so handsome all bundled up in his ski jacket and really enjoyed the company of calmer pups Gryphon and Glenda. Together they trotted and sniffed that trail out from start to finish, all I could see were three perky tails leading the way in front of me. During his afternoon outing today, Monkey was feeling a bit more frisky and met up with Finnigan in the far part of the yard. He pounced and play-bowed to Finnigan, and then took off running in the other direction. Monkey definitely loves human companionship and when Leah came out to join the group he couldn’t resist a good cuddle with her and loves being told that he is a good boy! Well he is in luck because a good chunk of his afternoon will be spent cuddling with Leah for his extra attention time!

Max and Sadie never fail to entertain me while here for daycare. This power duo was full of energy today, not stopping for a second in the yard. The second I gave them the okay to head outside they tore by me, shrieking as they passed. Max and Sadie didn't bother sniffing today, they got right into the fun and games. Sadie was pretty pleased to have her brother so hot on her heels. She took him for numerous laps around the yard as well as countless circles through the tunnel. Sometimes max doesn't follow her into the tunnel, rather he meets her on the opposing end to catch her. Whenever he catches her it starts a massive wrestling match, usually led by Max. Of course, Sadie tolerates the game, enticing him for some more rough play occasionally. They had bundles of fun today, not stopping for much, only a cookie at the end of their time outside.

Tanner is always a pleasure to have. He was so excited to come to the back with me this morning and investigate the staff room. Once he realized the staff room had some younger playful dogs in it, he was happy to get out of there and enjoy his own space in a big kennel. When groups rolled around Tanner couldn't have been more excited to race out the door into the yard. At first he wasn't so sure about his crazy group mates. He stuck my by side asking for cuddles and pats until his group mate and daycare pal Finnigan zoomed by. The fast past running quickly got Tanner excited and he began to dance around barking. After much dancing and singing Tanner finally set off with the younger folks for some running and playing. Tanner was hot on Finnigan’s heels, racing in endless circles after the boy. The pair made a cute duo, wrestling around and chatting to one another in between their fast paced sprinting. Right before it was time to head indoors Nicki came into the yard. This got Tanner super excited. The pair cuddled for a bit before we all went back indoors into the warmth.
