Jax had an absolute blast with us today.
This guy was so excited to arrive, he definitely thinks he’s here for a while
not just the day! Jax couldn’t have been happier to take part in such an
energetic busy group. Every dog in this group was immediately drawn to Jax as
he was the new member of the team. They all smothered him with kind hellos and
invited him to play right away. Jax was so pleased to have so any new friends.
He wasn’t sure who to play with yet so he stood in the middle of the action and
play bowed and danced around looking for a big group game. Everyone was keen to
participate in this. Jax loved all the attention being on him, especially from
his husky friends. After lots of group play Jax broke off to play with just
Kyah, a lovely husky. The pair had so much fun dancing around. The other dogs
picked up on their solo games and made their way to the duo to join in. Both
Kyah and Jax were happy to have everyone join in again for some more team
games. Jax ended up spotting a rope toy across the yard and left the group
games for some one on one time. He loved playing tug with me as well as fetch.
Of course, running full speed across the yard after a toy got all the dogs
attention. He ended up competing with a couple pals for the rope toy, but all in
god fun. He had a blast from start to finish of group time and couldn’t be more
excited to head out for his second and third outing.
Kizmet was thrilled to have his Monday to
Friday friend Kyah return after the weekend. The pair spotted one another from
across the yard and bee-lined it towards one another. Teddie wasn’t far behind
what so ever. He wanted to play with his buddy just as much as his brother. The
trio broke off from the big group game going on to get some time together. They
had so much fun pouncing all over Kyah and muzzling her as she rolled around.
The rolls were quickly reversed as Kiz was the next one rolling around with Teddie
not far behind he and Kyah, bouncing all over the boys. These three got a lot
of attention from their other group mates from all this commotion and soon they
were in the centre of attention. All of their friends were having so much fun
dancing around them. Kizmet loved the attention of handsome Jax while Teddie
was pleased to frolic with his mates Kyah, Koda and Riley. All these games
continued on for ages. It soon turned into fast races around the yard, followed
by wrestling and then boxing. Teddie and Kiz got so tired out they were both
lying in the snow relaxing by the time groups ended.
Max and Sadie love their Mondays with us.
They are always so full of beans from their weekend and more than eager to get
out in the yard to investigate their yard. The pair was great waiting patiently
for the OK to go outdoors. Max had his dancing feet on while staring at me
waiting while Sadie got comfy on her cloud bed, pretending to not care. As soon
as they go the OK they darted out of their kennel and began playing in the back
playroom before even making it outdoors. Once they finally got into the yard
they began rolling and wrestling around. Max took charge pouncing all over his
sister, but he rolls quickly reversed when Sadie dragged him down and leapt all
over him. After loads of fast paced circles around the yard, a fresh bone that
was in the yard distracted Sadie. Max was confused as to what Sadie was digging
at and tried getting in on the action too. Finally, Sadie got a hold of the
bone and began gnawing on it. Max wasn’t far away and snatched it from her
without any warning. The pair then got their games going all over again,
fighting over the bone in a playful way. Sadie was happy when I defended the
bone for her. She took it into the corner and enjoyed chewing on it over their
while Max lapped around the yard with a smile on his face burning off his
energy.
Sophie had so much fun today! This lovely
girl was full of beans and was feeling extra frisky. She let me know this by
dancing all around me in circles, chatting away. I wasn’t sure what miss Sophie
wanted at first. Once I saw her rolling around in the snow on top of an orange
Frisbee I knew that she wanted to play around with the toy. She was thrilled
when I picked it up out of the snow. I wasn’t sure if she wanted me to throw
it, or wanted to play tug. I offered it to her in her mouth and we played lots
of tug. She is a very strong girl. After a couple minutes of tugging I tossed
the Frisbee across the yard. Sophie looked so happy dancing after the toy. She
grabbed it and began shaking it all around, moaning and groaning as she played
with it. She was happy to lie in the snow and chew on it for a bit before
returning it to me. We continued playing fetch and tugging on and off for her
whole time outdoors. She was thrilled to have this toy today!
Macie was so much fun today. She has found
a toy that she loves and she will not part ways with it. Except, today when her
friends snagged it. The squeaky bone was the highlight of group time today, for
sure. What dog doesn’t love a good squeaky toy? Macie was so proud of it
running around with it showing it off to all of her friends, until the little
devil puppy Vega snatched it out of her mouth un expectedly. Macie was shocked
and made it her mission to get it back. Soon, Vega dropped it and Bentley got a
hold of it. Bentley loved racing around the yard with Macie hot on his heel.
The pair was so cute frolicking around together, trying to play keep away.
Macie was so proud when she finally got a hold of it from Bentley. Bentley
didn’t mind too much that he lost his toy. Macie was so proud to have it and
continued to parade it around in front of her friends. She wouldn’t drop it for
a second after getting it taken earlier. She continued her whole time outside with
her toy in her mouth and even brought it back to her kennel.
Although tiny in size, the small dog group
was large and in charge today, which made for an interesting morning! Well
Finnigan isn’t small, but he is just a pup at heart and today he led the epic
playgroup, to no surprise! DJ and Timbits raced behind Finn into the far yard
to get the party started! These three were inseparable most of the morning as
they ran and chased and jumped and played to their little hearts content! These
three frisky boys couldn’t be bothered by the cold; they ran up such a storm,
which in turn kept them warm and they could have kept playing all morning long!
In fact, Finn was panting at one point from all the running and had to excuse
himself for a moment and settled for a good chew of the red ball in the snow
bank to cool off! Sisters Coco and Tinkerbell decided that the boys can’t have
all of the fun and decided to race into the far yard along with Coconut to join
in. But boy those boys are fast and Coco and Tinkerbell sure did get their
exercise this morning just trying to keep up with them! Rufus and Sherman loved
all of the commotion out in the yard today, it had been somewhat quiet the past
week and we all know how much these boys love to play and today they had their
opportunity! Although they couldn’t quite keep up with DJ and Finn, they
enjoyed trying to keep up nonetheless! Stopping every once in a while, for a
quick rest and a wrestle amongst themselves. Towards the end of their outing,
they decided to run and keep Maggie some company in the front yard where she
was impatiently waiting to go back inside! I called Maggie over to join me in
the far yard and she happily left her spot and wiggled her way over towards me.
Its cold today she thought, but that didn’t stop her from making a few laps
around the yard when I called her and she got her fair share of cuddles to keep
her warm!
Molly made sure she was the first one out
the door and into the yard to scoop out the yard to see which toys were lying
around. She came across her favourite rope toy and immediately snagged it
before anyone else could. She was so content that she dropped the rope toy and
had a good roll in the snow, massaging her back with all of the rope knots. But
Finn and Windy soon caught on and decided to give Molly a run for her money to
see if they could steal the rope away. Molly fought hard during a tug of war
between Finn and Windy but Finn was much too strong and he happily ran away
with it in his mouth. No hard feelings, Molly had a good wrestle with Nyxx in
the snow but it wasn’t long before she was stalking Finn and demanded it back! Back
she got it and happily spent the rest of her morning frolicking in the snow,
rope in mouth!
