Kouza was so happy to have some warmer, more spring like
weather today. She was also very excited to have her cone off for one of her
supervised outings today. She seemed too busy with all the smells to be
bothered by anything else. Kouza marched around the yard with the look of pure
joy and content. She was also very keen to meet Ginger and Pepper, two lovely
ladies. She followed them around for a while before meeting up with myself.
Kouza couldn’t have been happier to accept some pets and cuddles. She buried her
head into my lap, asking for her ears to be scratched. After lots of head
scratches she offered me so many kisses all over my face. She gave me so many
wet slurps before asking for her side and bum to be pet by pushing her hind end
into me. We had a great cuddle session before she returned to her explorations
of the yard. Kouza enjoyed every minute of the lovely weather, especially the
nice breeze that came across the yard. Kouza
joined me in the reception area this afternoon for some one-on-one time. I got
out our treat puzzle toy and put carrots in the compartments. Kouza loved this
game, and spent some time batting away at it to open the compartments,
revealing her prizes. Once Kouza had pushed the toy all around the room and
found all the carrots, she moved onto finding some toys. She sniffed at her
toucan stuffy before finding her favourite, the pig! She was feeling pretty
bouncy and started to pick up and drop the pig for herself. She was in a great
mood today!
Pepper was full of beans today. I had such a good time
watching her be so bouncy and energetic. Every dog that passed her by captured
her attention. Pepper was so keen to play with little Ginger the cockapoo. They
may be an odd couple, but they sure are a fun couple. The duo bounded around
the yard with springs in their feet for the longest time. Pepper was flying
across the yard, extending her front legs and back legs as much as she could to
get as much distance at once. Ginger did a good job keeping up, leading to more
bouncing and boxing. Shelby and Sky were also interested in Peppers games
today. They all joined in with her to race around the yard. Pepper is so speedy
and agile, it is pretty impressive. After loads of laps around the yard with a
smile on her face, Pepper made her way to my side. She was so happy to accept
lots of pets and cuddles. She gave me lots of kisses in return, which I was
happy to receive. Pepper joined me in
the kitchen this afternoon for her extra attention time. This must be her
favourite place, because she started whining and rolling around on the floor! I
put down some blankets for us to hang out on, and Pepper curled up next to me
for some back scratches. She loved this so much, and she stretched all the way
out with her back legs straight out! She rolled over onto her side for more
scratches, before hopping up to give me lots of kisses. What a sweet girl!
Georgia had such a fabulous first day! She is the sweetest
most outgoing girl. When she first arrived she was a little shy and nervous. We
thought she would be great to walk with another young dog, thinking Chloe might
help her come out of her shell. As she was getting ready for her walk she gave
Brooke puppy eyes and slowly came out of her kennel. However, the second
Georgia was outdoors she turned the table and began zooming in circles around
Brooke and Chloe. She was so rambunctious, flying around while on leash like a
maniac. Brooke couldn’t do much but laugh at the situation. Once Georgia
finally settled down, she Brooke and Chloe carried on along the trail enjoying
their morning walk. Georgia was so excited to get in the yard and meet other
dogs. She instantly zoomed from dog to dog saying her hellos as fast as
possible so that she could begin playing. She was a big fan of Kyah and Merida
right off the bat. She did some dancing with them until she was distracted by a
chase going on. Georgia was quick to join in on a race around the yard with
Bella and Justice. She is so speedy and agile, motoring around the yard with ease,
quickly making her way to the front of the chase. On top of all the
socialization she did, she was very eager to get a lot of attention from me.
Georgia loves to jump all over me, constantly asking for pets and cuddles. I
was more than happy to offer this sweet girl loads of love. More often than
not, she would leave me to continue playing with her friends, however she never
failed to make her way back to my side at the end of her spurts of fun.
Guess who Bella had the time of her life with today? Yep,
you guessed it, her boyfriend Justice. These two never fail to meet up and have
a blast. They are a match made in heaven. Justice was pretty focused on
sniffing and exploring at first today, but Bella wasn’t going to let him get
away with that for long. After much persistency, she convinced him to box with
her. The duo quickly turned into a trio when Justice’s sister, Kyah, joined in.
These three had a lot of fun dancing around today leaping all over one another
while swatting at each other. They were a very vocal group today, chatting back
and forth as they wacked one another and rolled around. Finally, Justice took
off across the yard looking for a chase. Of course, Bella was hot on his heels
with Kyah right behind. The three friends zipped and zoomed in circles around the
yard, starting a chase which included many of their other friends too. Bella
was right in on all the action, playing with lots of new dogs as well as
familiar faces. In the end, she broke off with Justice and Kyah to have some
tunnel fun. They were so cute mouthing at one another while pawing back and forth
across the tunnel. They were very tired by the time their morning play group
was over, it wasn’t a hassle at all to get miss Bella back indoors where she
gladly accepted her treat.
Finnigan was excited to see crazy daycare pal Kane bright
and early this morning. That is if he could keep his eyes on this fast guy who
was zooming around the yard in a fury. Everyone stopped what they were doing
when they saw the flash of grey limbs whip around them! Everyone wanted to play
with Kane today, including reserved lady Bridie; she just couldn’t resist his
fun loving energy and had a great time running and playing with this spunky
boy. Finnigan wanted his fair share of Kane as well. This is where the fun
really happened, some good old rambunctious boy play. Finnigan never misses out
on the opportunity to wrestle with his favourite friends and there he was right
in the centre of the action; Millie decided to join in too! Finn was very
curious to see Millie, this little girl exudes tremendous amounts of confidence
so she definitely kept him on his toes and he loved every minute of it! Down he
went into a play bow to see if he could get a rise out of her. Then before I
knew it, Finn, Kane and Millie were off chasing after one another in
excitement!
I was thrilled to see sweet Chloe back for daycare today but
probably not as excited as Nymeria, her redheaded Husky pal. Chloe was ready to
play today and boy did she ever! There were so many energetic pals in her group
today that kept her busy all morning long. At first she took her time to feel
out her surroundings but once she saw Nymeria right in the middle of all the
action, she couldn’t help but join in! Just like last time, Chloe started
sprinting across the yard to get everyone’s attention and sure enough, Nymeria
and Sammy were hot on her trail. Chloe loves the thrill of being chased and she
ran as fast as she could across the snowy yard. Finally, Nymeria would catch up
and the two of them would have a friendly wrestle. Although Chloe is much
bigger, Nymeria is fast and was able to weave herself in and around Chloe’s big
floppy paws that were trying to get her in the face! Then they were off again,
but this time they were trying to outrun Polly and Harvey who wanted in on the
chase after they saw how much fun they were having. I think we will have some
happy dog-parents tonight when these two sweet daycare ladies crash after a
full day of play!
