Chloe had a wonderful first day with us and the fun started
off with her morning trail walk along the melting trails. There was so much to see
and smell for this newcomer and she was excited to meet her walking buddy Mack
the Husky who kept her company for the trot. Now she was ready for some fun out
in the yard and this is where she really let loose and her energetic puppy side
came out. Although shy at first while sniffing out her surroundings, she was
very polite when all the other pups rushed over to introduce themselves. Now
that the introductions were over, she was ready to play and started zooming
around the yard! This got the attention of the rest of the crew and Nyxx and
Tucker decided to join her. This made her go even faster with the anticipation
that they would catch up! Finally she took a break and her big floppy tongue
was hanging out the side of her mouth! When she wasn’t starting the chase party,
she spent most of her time with Golden pals Molly and Tucker who just loved her
attention. She even tried to see if she could steal the ball from fetch-loving
Molly, but didn’t have much luck. She had fun trying nonetheless! Chloe has
such a fun-loving spirit about her and was the perfect addition to the group; we
will definitely be looking forward to her next visit!
While Chloe and the Goldens were off having their own fun,
daycare buddies Hobart and Cai were having a party of their own. Some boy-time, to be exact, with Husky pal Nyxx. There was something about Nyxx that got their
attention because both Hobart and Cai spent most of their time following him
around the yard to see if they could get a reaction out of him. Well Nyxx is
such a playful pup himself, and loved all the attention he was getting. Cai the
handsome boy was very vocal this morning and would howl in song as if he was
trying to say something to Nyxx. He would then give him a paw to the back to
entice him to play! Well this got the attention of both Nyxx and Hobart and
soon enough they were all jumping around and singing in song together. Hobart
would then venture off on his own for some exploration of the yard, he is such
a calm and pleasant boy and of course very handsome and majestic! Both Cai and
Hobart were the perfect models and I could easily call them away from Nyxx for
a big smile and cuddle!
Bella was excited to see best daycare pal Oakley out in the
yard today, but probably even more excited to see her Husky boyfriend Justice!
We always have such a fun daycare group on Wednesdays thanks to some special
ladies including Tsavo, Oakley and Bella. Bella ran over to say hello to Oakley
who was hanging out by my feet, but she was quickly intercepted by chatty Shepherd
Haley who wanted to get Bella’s attention. Soon enough the three of them,
Haley, Bella and Oakley were having a meeting by my feet. Lots of words to be
had between Haley and Bella all the while Oakley had her ears pinned back from
all the shrieking! Oakley did have some playful moments today with Bella and
Justice but she mostly stuck by my side for some cuddles, often jumping up on
her hind legs to give me a big smooch on my lips when I least expected it!
Guess you could say she was somewhat of a wallflower today but I never mind
those days since I love her company! Tsavo was full of great energy herself
this morning. She was very interested to see what was going on with her friends
today. She always seemed to make it into the middle of the pack and be in the
centre of all the action. She loved chasing around Charly and Haley and boy was
she quick! Tsavo is one of those sweet girls who wants to know exactly what’s
going on but will often shy away when things get to chaotic, smart girl that one
is! She was happy to come back inside to dry off and see her brother Cai who
was housing beside her!
Windy was
absolutely infatuated with a rope toy that she found in the yard today. Windy
was not turned off by the sogginess of this rope toy, which had been left in a
puddle from a previous group outing. In fact, this made it much more appealing
as she could suck on it. Windy had a good time lying down sucking on it, but
this only lasted a couple moments as many of her friends soon spotted her
treasure and bee-lined it for her. Finn and Jynxx were hot on Windy’s tail as
she bolted around the yard leading a chase. They caught up to her eventually,
which resulted in one intense tug match. Windy was on one end of the toy with
Jynxx on the apposing end and Finn right in the middle. Finn ended up winning
this battle, running off with the toy bragging about his win. Windy wasn’t
going to let it end there, following him around until he dropped it. She was so
pleased with herself when she won it back, now attracting the attention of
Jake. Windy had loads of fun dancing around with Jake with the toy in her
mouth. She was soon distracted by yet another toy. The orange Frisbee was great
fun for her. She loved playing tug with her and me other pal Buddy. We had a
good time pulling each other around the yard. This resulted in Windy and Buddy
wrestling around in the puddles. Neither of these pups were the slightest bit
fazed by this spring weather. In fact, Windy was very excited to splash around
and slurp up the cool fresh melting snow.
Nymeria had so much fun today! This
girl was happy to take a break from her usual friends Justice and Magic,
providing her the opportunity to run much more than usual. Nymeria met a Bernese puppy and the two were hot for each other right off the bat. They
made for such a great pair, both sharing the same play style as well as a positive
outgoing personality. Nymeria loved mouthing at her friend's long ears and fluffy
neck. She couldn't help but taking off running when Kane zipped by, though. Nym loved bouncing and pouncing around with him. Kane was such a social butterfly today, and took every opportunity to say hi to all of his friends, new and old. He greeted Nymeria, pounced on Windy and Jake, and gave Finnigan a big lick on the face. Kane and Nymeria led the pack in a brief sprint before Nymeria took a break from running and bouncing to meet up with Skie the husky for a little while.
Nym couldn’t miss out on some husky games, which included typical intense
wrestling, some boxing, as well as fast bum tucked zoomies around the yard.
Nymeria was quite the hot topic once she got buzzing around the yard. All her
group mates wanted to chase after her, attempting to catch up to her. She was
no match for Kane the crazy weimaraner who can run as fast as a cheetah. This pair had so much fun looping around the yard together. Kane left Nymeria for a little bit to go and say hello to the Bernese puppy and the lovely Boxer, Mika. Mika was very interested in Kane and stood extra tall with her little tail nub wagging away while they greeted each other. He then bounced away to do some more laps around the yard. Meanwhile, Nymeria ended up spending
the last portion of her outdoor time with her great friend Buddy. Enjoying
every minute together, not letting this wet weather drag her down one bit.
Benji was a tough little guy today,
not letting the dreary spring weather drag him down. The dogs positive outlook
on cold, wet, weather always reminds me to not let it faze me. I had a lot of
fun running around with Benji today He enjoyed racing after me as I looped
around the yard trying to get his group mates to play around. Benji ended up being
rather fascinated with Molly, the senior pug. He followed her around sniffing
her and accompanying her as she investigated the yard. It was then that he came
across Mika, a lovely Westie. These two then paired up for some brief dancing
and playing. The pair was very cute frolicking around together. Once they had
enough games with one another they came over to me to accept some pets and
cuddles. Benji climbed right up onto me, putting his paws on my shoulders and
his hind legs on my knees as I crouched down. He gave me plenty of kisses
before hopping off and looping around the yard to do some exploring. When it
was time to head back indoors, Benji was very pleased when I dried him off. He
gave the cutest little shake after, making himself look extra fluffy.
Kouza is such a sweet girl. This
weather resulted in us spending some extra time indoors together rather than a
lot of time in the wet yard. While we were outside, Kouza was happy to wander
around sniffing. The thawing produces a lot of smells for her to sniff and
explore. At one point she found an area that was extra fascinating, resulting
in her digging and pawing at the ground to find where it was coming from. The
grass coming up around the edges of the yard as well as around the boulders
also intrigued Kouza. She kept busy sniffing and exploring until she ran into
me. She was happy to spend some one on one time with me in the yard. Kouza
loves a good scratch under the chin as well as pats all down her sides and on
top of her bum. Our cuddle session kept her pretty happy until it was time to
head back into the dry indoors.
Kouza definitely didn’t have the rainy day blues today with
all the love she got. During her extra attention she wouldn’t leave our staff’s
side and got lots of cuddles, her leg was twitching from us rubbing her lower
back…What a cutie. We spent the time just giving her massages and scratches and
she seemed to really enjoy this as she leaned in and completely relaxed with
us. When it was finally time to go back into her bed she didn’t want to leave
us, I don’t blame her she had a good thing going! She didn’t put up a fuss
though and quickly followed our staff back to have a little nap for the
afternoon. Its really cute to see her curled up in a ball in her bed, she looks
so puppy like.
