I found something to keep Kouza very busy this morning
during her extra attention time. She was so intrigued by our red rubber ball
which has a hole in it, allowing me to fill it with carrots. She nosed this
around for ages, working very hard to get her treats out. She kept at this for
so long, stopping every once and a while looking for assistance. After some
treat games, Kouza was happy to sit by my side and accept loads of pets and
cuddles. In the yard today Kouza let her nose lead her around the yard. She
stayed very busy by investigating all the scents around the yard. When she
found something particularly good she would stop and paw at it continuously until
she got a better idea of what the smell was. Kouza was briefly interested in a
young lady in her group named Tag. Tag is very up beat and outgoing, none the
less Kouza trailed along after her trying to figure out what this bounce girl
was all about. After sniffing one another over, Kouza left Tag alone to enjoy
some time with me before heading back indoors.
Coco and Timbits were thrilled to arrive and head straight out for a walk with Tiff. The pair knew exactly what was going on as soon as they got to the back and saw leashes in hand. They motored out the door with their tails high and ears perked up, eager to investigate the yard and trail. The investigating continued during group time as there was a lot for them to sniff and explore since they were last here. The duo was extra intrigued by the grass and rocks that are uncovering around the edges of the yard. This kept them very busy for a while, until they noticed workers climbing the tower on our property. Boy, did this get them worked up. Coco and Timbits had to let everyone know that they were there by howling continuously until I distracted them with toys. The duo still was very focused on the workers despite my attempts to get their attention with numerous toys. Finally, outgoing little lady Tag came swooping in capturing their attention. Both Coco and Timbits were quickly attracted by her, and began racing around the yard with her. They all had so much fun racing and running around together as well as wrestling and boxing. Timbits was a big fan of Tag, while Coco was more concerned about Timmy’s actions. They had loads of fun together and were happy to return indoors to recharge their batteries for their next outing.
Sadie F. is such a lovely girl. I had such a pleasure spending time with her today. She was keen to get out for a walk right upon arrival. When I entered her kennel with a leash, she knew what time it was. After wiggling all around me and then politely sitting, I hooked her up and we head out. Sadie was a big fan of her walking buddy, Tucker, who too is a nice golden retriever. They made for the cutest duo ever, constantly wiggling around each other offering up kisses and bum bumps. We made our way along the trail, stopping often to allow Sadie to sniff everything she wanted. When we returned indoors Sadie was keen to cuddle up on her cot for a nap. Rather than a group outing in the mid morning, Sadie and I enjoyed a one on one trail walk. She loved having me all to herself along the trail, stopping and turning around to say hello to me every couple steps. I had to remind her not to jump, but once this was established, we enjoyed each others company along the trail. She was pretty curious about Abby, a poodle walking further behind us. She begged to walk closer to her, which we accommodated to keep them both happy. Sadie is such an easy going lovely lady, she has settled in very well.
Max and Sadie were as happy as can be to be back in our care
after a weekend away. These two always seem to have an abundance of energy on
Monday mornings; excited for the fun filled week ahead of them! Mornings always
start with their favourite trail walk out back and although it was a chilly
morning, Max and Sadie made sure to keep up the pace to keep our bodies warm! I
was happy to see my favourite duo once again a short while later for some more
fun in the yard. They got up to their usual antics, a few laps around the yard
for Max, a few sniffs in the snow for Sadie and they were ready for a wrestle.
But not before Sadie took her usual seat on top of the picnic table to pose for
a few photos, all while Max was trying to wrap his mouth around her legs to
entice her off. Some things never change with these two!
Daycare pals Tag and Finn ran up a storm while outside this
morning with all of their favourite four-legged friends. Tag literally leaped
out the door when it was her turn and didn’t stop moving or wiggling until it
was time to come back in. So many new friends to meet and play with and no time
to waste for this little energetic lady! Tag just adored big Bernese brothers
Dragon and Gryphon and followed them around the yard with hopes that they would
play with her. These two gentle-giants didn’t know what to do at first with
their new energetic pal but they sure did love the attention! Meanwhile, Finn
was keeping a close eye on Molly the Golden who was hoarding all of the balls
in the yard. Just waiting for the perfect opportunity to swoop in and snatch it
from her. Sure enough, he got his favourite red Jollyball and pranced around
with it in his mouth in pride, but it wasn’t long before it was back in the
paws of Molly. That’s ok he thought, he settled for the Nylabone and took a
seat in the snow to chomp away. But we all know Finn is a busy boy and before I
knew it, he and Tag were off having a wrestle of their own, a big ball of black
fur tumbling across the white snowy yard!
