Max and Sadie were just as excited to be here for daycare as they had been to be here all week for boarding. The pair was so eager to get to the back, as if they hadn’t just spent plenty of time with us. They love our new routine where they get to go play in the yard prior to their walk. The duo was quick to retrieve one of their favourite balls and begin goofing around with it. Alternating retrieving, the pair continued to run around the yard with smiles on their faces. After numerous laps, Max found himself wandering across the now thawed out pool. The thin layer of ice on top made for a fun game for Max. He balanced across it, watching very carefully as the water pooled out the edges. He also enjoyed slurping up the fresh icy water. Sadie wasn’t far behind him on drinking this frigid water. When they met up at the pool, they began to play around. Max was all over Sadie right off the bat. It didn’t take much for her to dodge him and take charge in their boxing and wrestling. As she pounced all over him, she slowly made her way to the picnic table to gain higher ground. From here, he tried to get a hold of her by standing tall on the bench. Their games briefly continued on the table, until Max decided he would much rather sniff and explore. Sadie continued to sit on the table, keeping a close eye on myself and her brother. They chose to return indoors for some indoor playing and cuddling towards the end of their outdoor time. Max was thrilled to find a bone and lie down on his stacked beds to enjoy the chew on double the comfort. Meanwhile, Sadie insisted on sitting upon a big Tupperware bin. It didn’t surprise me to see her do this as she tends to find odd things to sit on. What did surprise me however, was when Max hopped up and nudged her off asking to try the box out. He too enjoyed sitting on top of the box before the duo cuddled on their beds together before heading back into their kennel for a nap. Later on, Max and Sadie were very excited to head out for their walk. We gave the front trail a try today since the weather was permitting. The pair did excellent at staying focused and not getting overwhelmed with all the new smells. We had a great stroll around the field, keeping busy by sniffing everything underneath their paws as they marched along.

Boy oh boy did DJ and Tag have a great day. Before he even got here, we knew these two would be a match made in heaven. It took about five seconds the young dogs to meet up in the yard, and get going with their fun. Tag initiated things by looping around DJ with her tail wagging fast, eager to become his best friend. DJ was pleased about the warm welcome, and soon gave in to her request. After a couple play bows, back and forth, Tag took off across the yard looking for a chase. DJ is so speedy and agile, he caught up to Tag and ended up in front of her before she even realized he was near. Tag was so keen to rip around the yard after DJ. When DJ runs, his whole body elongates and he resembles a cheetah bolting through a field. Tag gave 100% of her effort to keep up to him. She ended up cutting corners to stay as close to him as possible, which encourage him to run even faster. Their running didn’t stop for quite some time. First they were looping clockwise, and then counter clockwise, as fast as their legs could take them. Finnigan was watching them from a distance and joined in soon enough. Next thing I knew, their games turned into one big black blur of fur zooming around the yard. As I was scrolling through the photos I was having a hard time making out three separate dogs. This fun continued all through out the day. The trio also enjoyed some brief boxing and wrestling, but were mostly eager to race and run. I had a lot of fun watching these three youngsters really embrace being in their element.

Chloe, our fun loving toy-obsessed boxer was out enjoying the beautiful warm sun this morning with all of her favourite four-legged pals, ball in mouth of course! It was a big and playful group that included daycare friend Kane, the long-legged, rambunctious Weimaraner. While Kane was stirring up a playful storm with lady friends Georgia and Charly, Chloe was circling around them moaning in excitement with the big red Jollyball. She wanted to be part of the playful group but didn’t want to let go of her ball in fear that someone would snatch it up so she refereed from the sidelines to try and keep young pups Kane and Charly in check! Then of course there were the endless laps around the yard and in through the agility tunnel to keep Chloe occupied for the rest of her morning. All the while Kane was still off excitedly playing with his friends, I could hardly keep my eyes on him; he was moving so fast and probably could have stayed like that the rest of the day with the endless amounts of energy that one has! Kane and Chloe were happy as clams to head back out into the yard for another little playtime with their husky friends Isis, Sky, and corgi mix Shelby. Chloe found herself a toy right away, of course, while Kane went to investigate little Shelby. He was thrilled to meet this little spitfire and it set him off on yet another few laps around the yard until it was time to head back in for a rest on his cot.

Oakley and Bella are the best of daycare friends and really enjoyed their time outside today with best Husky pal Kyah. But something was missing, it looks like male Husky Justice was replaced today with a new Husky face, that of Nyxx’! The girls were thrilled to meet Nyxx and wasted no time getting down and playful with this frisky guy and he was just as silly and energetic as his Justice counterpart. Once Bella spotted him out in the yard, she zoomed over and enticed him to play with her signature paw-move to the back! Soon enough they were both jumping up on their hind legs and it looked like they were doing the tango! Oakley would have stayed around to enjoy the fun, but she was quickly distracted when she saw Leah come out into the yard, we all know how much she is a sucker for human attention, so there she sat by her feet for all the head rubs in the world!

Rex and Fez, two of the sweetest brothers around enjoyed their time outdoors together today. Fez loves having his younger and energetic brother around to keep him company and Rex loves the attention he gets from Fez just as much, these two definitely share a very special bond! It was noses to the ground for the most part as these two excitedly sniffed around the yard, so many new scents floating around with all of the melting snow around. I took a seat as I waited for them to finish their laps, but once they saw me on their level, they both ran over for some cuddles, and not mention posed for some pretty handsome photos! Fez stuck by me for the rest of his outing and enjoyed the ear rubs, while Rex was back sniffing out the yard to see if he could find some treasures, curious boy that one is!
