Jemma and Finnigan were excited to see each
other out in the yard. These two are the best of friends and you can always
guarantee a good time when these two silly rascals are around. Especially when
mixed with Charly the Golden and Buddy the Bernese, these four were inseparable
today and had some epic wrestles in the snow. They mixed up the pairs as well;
sometimes Jemma was rolling around in the snow with Charly, while Finn and
Buddy were up dancing on their hind legs. Then they switched partners and Jemma
was off chasing Buddy around the yard and Finn and Charly were up to their
usual shenanigans! Finn and Jemma were just buzzing with energy today, so they
had another separate playgroup with Maya and Jake, two of our small-dog daycare
guests, and as you can imagine, the fun only continued!
Chloe and Spencer had a toy battle out in
the yard today, I would expect nothing less from these two fun-loving fetch
addicts! Chloe was thrilled when I handed her off the red Jollyball for her to
enjoy for the afternoon. She excitedly ran around with it in her mouth as she
always does, but this time she left it in the middle of the agility tunnel as
she was passing through. Chloe looked at me perplexed because she didn’t know
how to go back in and retrieve it! She anxiously moaned and pawed at the tunnel
for several moments until I encouraged her to go back in and get it! She must
have forgot that she brought it in there in the first place! Meanwhile, Spencer
was being his usual goofy self with best pals Kane and Kyah, but after a few
wrestling rounds, he was much more interested in the orange Frisbee ring! He
leaped into the air and successfully caught it in his mouth and happily took a
rest in the snow to chew away. But he had to fend off Chloe who was lurking
around his back trying to see how she could possibly fit both the Frisbee and
ball in her mouth at the same time!
Issy and Mocha were thrilled to see the sun
beaming down on the yard today. A much warmer day for these two special ladies
to enjoy their time outdoors with their favourite four-legged friends. Back to
routine as usual for both Mocha and Issy, Issy out and about in the yard with
her nose to the ground, while Mocha peeking her head around the corner to see
if the coast was clear for her to have a good snow roll. She settled for some
head rubs as she took a seat beside my feet! Both ladies were excited to see
Nyxx out there today, their favourite male Husky! Lots of flirting, jumping and
wrestling to be had with this handsome guy! Since Issy and Mocha enjoy their
trail walks so much, they joined fellow daycare friend Spencer for an afternoon
stroll out back to break up their day and enjoy the beautiful sun!
Teddy and Percy were just as happy to see
Nyxx the Husky as much as Issy and Mocha were. Nyxx brings such a playful
energy to his groups and Teddy and Percy just feed off his positive energy.
Straight into herding mode for these two boys and they excitedly followed Nyxx
around the yard to see if they could entice him to play! At one point they
joined forces and blocked Nyxx into a corner so he was forced to wrestle back. Nyxx
didn’t mind the attention and darted across the yard to see if Teddy and Percy
could keep up. Of course they could keep up, Teddy and Percy have endless
amounts of energy and are the best of friends! They as well were up for another
walk along the trail, so they joined forces with daycare pal Kimi and happily
led the way out back with Pet Activity Coordinator Leah trailing behind.
Max and Sadie loved our change of routine today.
The pair was ecstatic to enjoy not one, but two trail walks. They were a little
confused when I entered the playroom again in the afternoon with leashes in
hand, however it didn’t take them long at all to begin hooting and hollering
with excitement for their next outing. They love marching along the trail
sniffing and exploring everything under their paws. Max and Sadie were just as
excited to have two group outings earlier in the day. They were all about the
blue rubber chuck it ball during their first outing. We played lots of rounds
of fetch. They alternated retrieving the ball, but both ran after it each time.
During their second outing the highlight was a bone that had been uncovered
from the thawing. Again, they alternated who got to gnaw on the bone while the
other accepted pats and cuddles form me. They appreciated the trade off,
regardless of which end of the stick they got. Max and Sadie had such a busy,
fun day. They were happy to rest on their freshly washed comfy big beds when
all the playing was over.
It seems like forever since we have had the company
of Bella and Jake. This infamous team was very eager to arrive this morning and
get indoors and bolt down the halls. They were happy to cuddle up on a fresh
bed the moment they got into their kennel. Their group outing quickly
approached, which they were very excited about. The pair did so much sniffing
and exploring during their first outing, they almost forgot about the other
dogs. They had to investigate the yard that has gathered many new scents sine
their last visit with us prior to playing. Finally, Jake settled in and began
his usual bouncy shenanigans. He was keen to play with his daycare pal Maya as
well as some boarding mates. Bella was much more interested in sniffing and
exploring. She took a break to cuddle with me, as well as to briefly get
involved in Jake and Maya’s shenanigans. She tried her hardest to control Jake
and his crazy behaviour, but didn’t succeed. Jake continued to race around like
a bundle of joy while Bella laid low with her independent friends, enjoying
this beautiful spring day.
Maya and Rocky have a had a nice string of days
with us. Luckily, today was so bright and warm in comparison to the windy
chilly day yesterday. This lovely weather enticed Rocky to be a bit more
adventurous. During groups he ventured out into the big yard, by choice. Maya
was very excited about this. She danced all around him asking him to play and
explore with her. Her shenanigans only drove him away, sending him back to the
door where he hung out with his independent friends. Maya carried on in the big
yard with some of her more playful mates. She was happy to dance around with
Jake, her daycare pal, for a little bit. They tossed paws back and forth and
did some play bowing and zooming before Maya broke off on her own to explore
the yard. Later, Maya was happy to enjoy a second outing with some more playful
“big” daycare dogs. She loved Finnigan, and wrestled around with him for a bit.
She also like racing around with Jemma. Meanwhile, Rocky enjoyed some extra
attention in the playroom with Katie and two other small dog friends.
TicTac is such a sweet girl. It’s been a pleasure
getting to know her today. She is warming up to all of us, and enjoying herself
here very much. TicTac is a big fan of the yard. She loves wandering around,
sniffing and exploring everything under her paws. She is very excited about the
thawing that is happening. The fresh grass and mud that is coming up from under
the snow gave her lots to sniff and explore. She was excited when I offered her
some cuddles in the yard, too. She pushed her bum into me asking for a scratch
and some cuddles. TicTac also enjoyed the company of the other dogs. She is
great with all the small dogs she was outdoors with. She is very polite when
greeting them, and knows who she is a great match for. She enjoyed the company
of two yorkie’s while sniffing and exploring the yard. TicTac loved her trail
walk too, she was very keen to motor on ahead of me on the trail at the very
end of her leash. Her friends Bella and Jake were busy weaving left and right,
but she knew that ahead was where she wanted to go. All and all, TicTac had a
great first day.
Kimi is such a fan of this weather! She was a big
fan of our modified routine, she got many extra outings and even an extra walk.
Kimi was such a spit fire with the husky girls in her first group outing today.
She wasn’t going to put up with their shenanigans, however, she really wanted
their attention. She was sending many mixed signals, which kept them interested
in her. Later on she was a fan of Rex who is a very handsome boy. They flirted
and danced around for a while before Rex’s brother Fez got involved too. Kimi
was a major highlight of her morning group, for sure. She was eager to stay
outdoors and enjoy a second group. In her second group she was very flirty with
Nyxx. She gave him lots of attention while he bum bumped her and pawed at her
continuously. When we head out for our second walk of the day, Kimi was so
excited. Since she was a little bit tired from all of her activity, she stuck
right on the path walking just a little in front of me. This is much different
than how she behaves on her morning walks. She loves to stray left and right
and zoom up and down the path exploring everything. I think she’ll be tired
tonight J.
Fez was one of the many dogs that was very happy
about this warm weather today. He was so thrilled to enjoy some extra time in
the yard, one on one, to explore the yard and accept extra attention. Fez was
just as keen to be out in a group with his brother as well as 4 husky ladies.
The ladies were very polite to Fez, and mostly carried on minding their own
business. Fez on the other hand was very attracted to miss Kimi He followed her
all around the yard, asking her to please pay attention to him When she stopped
and gave him the time of day, his eyes lit up. Fez and Kimi flirted for a bit
before Fez was distracted by Rex playing fetch. All Rex wanted to do today was
play fetch. We had three different balls in the yard, all of which he wanted.
He didn’t want to share, and he wanted to carry all three at one
time. This wasn’t possible, however he insisted it was. He continuously
tried to grasp all of them and ended up settling for one. We played lots of
fast fetch, with some of his group mates. He won every time, retrieving the
ball with much agility. When it was time to head back indoors Rex carried the
ball down the hall with him and brought it into his kennel. He was happy to
trade the ball for a treat before taking a nap prior to his next outing.
