Bruno was so excited to be back. He could barely contain his
excitement long enough to get out the door and into the yard. As soon as he got
outside he began zipping and zooming around the yard with his bum tucked. He
was letting out lots of squeals and oinks as he made his way in circles around
the yard. Bruno was a big fan of all the company he had outdoors. He said hello
to everyone quite fast, trying to pick out his best friends along the way. He
was very fond of Pepper, and began to run around with her. Mid run, Bruno lay
down and began to roll in the thin fresh layer of snow. He pushed himself all
around the yard on his back while flailing his arms about. I had such a good
laugh watching him. All of his silliness got Pepper very excited, leading her
to begin play bowing and dancing around him. Out of no where, Pepper's
excitement doubled and she began to fly around the yard. Bruno was overwhelmed
by her speediness. He couldn’t keep up with her bounding and soaring as she
bolted around the yard. Pepper was so thrilled to have all the dogs watching
her and trying to get in on her games. She ended up dancing around with me,
leaping all over me, and looking for a chase from myself. After I began to pat
her as she ran by me, she slowed down and ended up settling in on my lap. Bruno
wasn’t far behind. I had the pair wiggling all over me as I pet and cuddled
them. When it was time to come indoors, Bruno was keen to cozy up on his bed.
Pepper on the other hand thought that the opening of the door meant time for
more games. She got a sudden urge to zoom around once more before heading back
inside for an afternoon nap.
Max and Sadie were over joyed when they saw me walk into the back playroom with a bright yellow tennis ball in hand. They didn’t even bother hooting and hollering when I let them out of their pen to go outdoors since they were so eager to get playing. Max basically followed Sadie as Sadie leapt all over me requesting for me to please throw the ball. After launching it across the yard, the tables turned, and Max was on fire in the lead. Sadie wasn’t too far behind and she managed to slide around him and grab the ball. Max was very jealous, leading him to begin racing after her. The ball quickly became the lesser important thing as the duo began romping around the yard as usual. After much running and wrestling the split off to do some exploring. While they were adventuring around the yard Sadie came across the tennis ball once more. This time she was a little more discreet with it. She picked it up and made her way to the corner of the yard to lie down with it. She enjoyed sucking on it for a while until Max noticed and made his way to her. They began to zoom around again, this time with the ball in her mouth. Max grabbed it from her in no time and he was the one tossing it around. Sadie wasn’t too bothered by his shenanigans and our rounds of fetch, as the picnic table was much more comfortable for her. I kept her company on the table, kissing and cuddling her, while Max and I played fetch for a while. When it was time to come indoors, Max brought the ball with him with Sadie following behind eager to see what treasure he was bringing into their kennel.
Percy had such a great day today. Between his walk, his play groups, and his groom, he was very busy. Percy was part of a very young, busy group. They kept him on his toes for his entire time outdoors. He didn’t even look for a toy once, which might be a first. Percy was so occupied with all the young guns sprinting around the yard after one another. His herding instincts were in full force as he bolted after all his friends, trying his hardest to keep up. The young dogs are very fast making it a bit of a challenge for Percy to even begin looping around the. He gave up on the herding pretty quick and decided to just enjoy the running around. He loved chasing after Chloe when she had a big stick as well as Harvey when he had a Kong in his mouth. This was what kept him busy for the majority of his outdoor time. When I pulled the tunnel off the fence, Percy was the first to loop through it showing his skills off to his friends. Some of them followed him which was fun to watch. He finished his time off outside by racing around with Polly and Scout who lead him right in the door and down the hall.
Sadie F. was very excited to return this morning. She knew exactly where she was and could barely wait to return to the fun. She was very excited to have a nice trail walk with me. She is quite the strong lady, leading me along the trail for the first portion of our walk rather than me leading her. After some reminders, she stuck by my side and we carried on as a team. Sadie loves to stop at the Fir Trees and stick her head beneath them, sniffing the ground below. I’m sure at some point rabbits or deer have rested there, leaving lots for her to sniff. As we carried along the trail Adie was happy to stop and roll in the snow for a brief while. By the time we were back at the kennel, she was such a good girl about wandering into the yard and down the hall. Our outings keep her brain busy and drain some of her puppy energy. She is always keen to return to her kennel where she likes to gnaw on her toys and receive cookies from us for being such a good girl.
Quincy and Seamus have been enjoying their stay with us so far and we sure do love their company; they are two of the sweetest boys around. Everyone keeps saying how cute they are and how much they love these two gentle giants! Our four-legged guests seem to agree since they bring such a calm and loving energy to their groups! I was happy to have Quincy and Seamus join me on a morning trail walk alongside fellow Golden lady Sophie. Lets just say it was a somewhat slower walk, these three really enjoyed their time sniffing out the trail and taking in that cool breeze! A short while later, these two silly boys met up with Sophie again and met a new face named Gracie. Both boys were very interested in meeting nice gal Gracie and followed her around the yard to say hello. The rest of their time was spent leisurely strolling around, making sure to say hello to all their friends as they passed by with great big smiles of course! Their afternoon was spent up front for their extra attention time, they sure love their human companionship and spent most of their time cuddling and sitting nicely for treats. Quincy is very fast to give me a sit command when he knows there are delicious treats on hand! Overall it was another fantastic day well spent with two of the loveliest boys around!
Sophie
W is quite the character and I just love when she is
in for boarding because she is always such great company and the perfect
addition to her groups. She was pleased to meet Golden boys Quincy and
Seamus
this morning and excitedly led them down the trail; she is the expert
now and
loved showing these newcomers the ropes! She was still beaming with
energy a
short while later when she headed back outside again for an afternoon
with her
friends; nothing ever seems to slow this girl down! She started running
back
and forth across the yards, howling in song. She is quite the chatty one
lately! Sophie is an independent girl and is usually off in a fun world
of her
own, but she had some Golden friends in her group today including the
spunky
Molly whom she spent some time nose nuzzling with!
We were so excited to see good friend of the kennel Gracie
this morning to check in for her vacation with us! Gracie is one of the
sweetest and most obedient girls around and is such a pleasure to be around for
both our canine guests and us! Upon arrival, Gracie was immediately whisked
away for her morning trail walk with Abby the poodle, now that’s service! Gracie
was excited to be back on the trail this morning and sniffed it out from top to
bottom. Outside she made sure to stay close to my side as she got used to her
surroundings again! Everyone wanted to meet Gracie and came over to say hello,
although it seemed overwhelming at first, Gracie was very polite and accepted
all of the kisses, especially those of Seamus and Quincy. But Gracie is
definitely a people dog and weaved in and out of my legs like the agile girl
she is most of the morning, loving every single head rub. Luckily for her she
will have lots of time for human affection with her extra attention time!
Boris and Tasha were thrilled to be back in their
happy-place after a week away! After a brisk jog down the trail, they were
ready to head outside for some social time, their favourite part of the day.
They were joined by staff ladies Charly, Sky and of course their favourite
little girl Merida. Merida just adores both Boris and Tasha and they always
have a good play together. Boris had a great time with all of his lady friends
and made sure to be extra gentle with his play. But Merida encouraged the rough
play and jumped up on Boris’ back to entice him to play. Soon enough Tasha
swooped in and continued the fun. These two never stop moving from the moment
they step paw into the yard until it’s time to come back in! It was a great day
well spent with these two yet again and I think we will have some sleepy pups
tonight from all the fun had today!
