Rex was so full of energy today. He was so excited when eh
got outside and saw numerous new faces. Rex was especially pleased to meet
Daytona, and Talledega. These two huskies were full of energy today, never
stopping for a minute. Rex was eager to follow them around at a fast pace,
keeping tabs on their actions. He soon met up with Kyah, another husky. Rex was
very interested in her and spent a lot of time flirting with her. When Rex turned
away from Kyah she was quick to change her mind on the no playing policy she
had made up, and then began to paw at him. He loved this and continued to give
her more attention. Rex followed Kyah onto the tunnel and played around with
her here. The pair drew a lot of attention to themselves by doing this and soon
enough all the huskies were herded around. Rex had a lot of fun playing around
with all of his friends today. He was very tired when he returned indoors after
all his agile playing.
Chloe had another busy day. Once again she stayed very
occupied with her prized possession, the Jolly Ball. To her surprise, no other
dogs in her group were as fascinated with fetch as she. This left she an I
alone to play fetch while all her mates ran around. Chloe was so speedy
retrieving her toy. She loved the slush in the yard as it provided much better
grip than the slick snow. In between our rounds of fetch, Chloe would run in
circles snorting and whimpering with the ball in her mouth. Although she did
want to participate in the group fun, she was much too focused on the ball to
drop it. This continued for her whole time outside. She alternated between
fetch, and circling her friends while staring at me. When it was time to head
indoors, she happily brought the ball with her.
TicTac is such a little spit fire. She was so feisty today
with all of her friends. The rain didn’t bother her too much as she continued
to race around with her nose to the yard, eager to investigate all the smells.
One of her group mates, Miko, was fascinated with her. He danced all around her
inviting her to play. She gave in for a brief period and frolicked around with
him. She was happy to break off from Miko to hang out with the cute puppy
Cloud. They explored the yard together with happy tails. On TicTacs walk, she
was pleased to be accompanied by Rudy and Miko. They all had their noses to the
ground wandering back and forth on the trail. TicTac loves her morning walk so
much, it is definitely what she looks forward to most during her day.
Cloud is such a cute boy. I was so excited to see him return
this morning for another day of fun. Cloud was very eager to get to the back
and see his friends. He was happy to settle into his kennel on a comfy bed with
a nice chew toy. When he got out into the yard he instantly began zooming
around sniffing the yard. He didn’t spend too much time sniffing and exploring
as his outgoing friends were eager to invite him to join in with their games. Cloud
was more than ahppy to participate in the small dog fun. He is such an outgoing
happy guy, he is very easy to please. He loved danced around with Miko and
Rudy. These two boys were very speedy around the yard and Cloud tried his best
to keep up. Cloud was also eager to hang out with the little Chihuahua, XiaoBao.
By the end of his morning group he was happy to get back to his kennel for a
snooze before his walk.
Lola and Pearl are always hilarious when they get here in
the morning. Sometimes their kennel isn’t fully prepared so we have to set up their
bed with them in it. They get so excited, running in circles snorting as we try
to lie a bed down with a blanket on top. This morning, they wouldn’t stop
wiggling around so I ended up tucking them under the blanket. Both Lola and
Pearl just sat there staring at me as if I were crazy for doing this. Pearl
came out from under the blankey, but Lola stayed all bundled up. In the yard
Lola was pretty keen to stay under the protected edge. She isn’t a fan of the
cold rain. She was happy to be lifted by me and carried into the big yard where
she cuddled me on the picnic table and then explored. Pearl was a busy bee in
the yard today. She motored all around with her nose to the ground investigating
everything under her paws. Along her adventures she came across lots of her
friends. She gave in to numerous play requests, dancing and frolicking with all
the small dogs. She was happy to meet up with Miko and play with him for their
usual fun. She also enjoyed the company of Cloud, the young puppy, who is very outgoing.
At the end of her time outdoors she met up with her sister to relax in the dry
area of the yard waiting to return to their dry, warm kennel for a cookie.
Miko is always so happy to be here, and today was no exception.
He was so excited to get out in the yard for a morning group, before his walk.
He burnt a lot of energy off by running and playing with a fellow shihtzu name
Rudy. These two were a great pair. Rudy loves to box just like Miko, making
their games very equal. They walked all around the yard on their hind legs with
their front paws wrapped around one another. This carried on for a while until
Rudy got excited and bolted off. They then raced in circles around the yard
with group mate Cloud following behind. After Miko ran and ran he was keen to
sniff and explore with his pug friends. He took Pearl aside for some quick
playing before making his way back to the perimeter of the yard to sniff and
explore some more. After his big morning outing he was keen to get back inside and rest
before his walk. Miko was such a flirt on his morning walk with TicTac. He
followed hot on her heels as they wandered around the trail. She was happy to
have his company and the tow quickly became a pair. They met up for some more
fun in the later group of the day and enjoyed each others company in the yard
then.
It was a big and playful daycare group for
both Percy and Finnigan, perhaps two of our most energetic daycare pals! Finn
was already out in the yard chasing up a storm with pals Charly and Georgia.
Back and forth they sprinted across the yard together trying to keep up with
young pup Cassell, who was in the lead. But then Finn’s attention was taken away
when he came across his favourite red Jollyball, he must take a break he
thought to get in a few chews. But it wasn’t long before he was back up and running
with the crowd, especially when Percy arrived and joined the group. With no
hesitation, Percy was right up there with the rest of the playful bunch. He
especially enjoyed his time running around with fellow Aussie Bridie.
Meanwhile, Issy was off making her usual
rounds across the yard before she was quickly interrupted by frisky Husky pal
Nyxx. Although as of late, Issy has really been enjoying the company of Nyxx
and doesn’t seem to mind the silly interruptions. She enjoys it and gives it
back just as strongly to Nyxx; Issy can definitely hold her own but loves the
attention nonetheless. While confident Issy enjoys her time out in the yard,
Mocha’s favourite part of her day is the morning trail walk. She can barely
contain her excitement as I approach their kennel doors with leash in hand; her
bum starts to wiggle until I can hold her still enough to clasp her collar. And
boy is she strong, although somewhat shy in the hard; she is usually the leader
of the pack on her walks and lets her nose guide the way as we gallop across
the wet snow. And of course we can’t forget to pause so Mocha can have a good
old snow roll, some things never change!
Max and Sadie were quite the funny pair
together this afternoon. We know how much they love to hang out on the small
picnic table and today was no different. The melting snow started to collect on
top and they raced over to slurp it all up with their long tongues. Sadie is
usually the Queen of table as I like to call her, but today Max wanted to be on
top and there he sat proudly as he watched Sadie from below. Silly sister Sadie
soon joined him, and together they sat peacefully and listened to the playful
group in the adjacent yard, looking might regal if you ask me! Of course this
was mixed in with a few rounds of chase around the yard and an additional few
games of fetch!
Boris and Tasha were thrilled to head
outside for a morning session of play upon arrival. They had some time to kill
before their morning trail walk so off they went exploring the yard in a fury.
They were joined by Bloodhound friend Glory and graciously greeted her with a
few sloppy kisses and some nudges to the back. But then they were off again
with their noses glued to the ground in exploration. They saved enough energy
to burn off next for their morning trail walk. So many new scents to smell from
the previous walks before and they both enthusiastically trotted along with
excitement. Next up it was time to be silly again, this time with lady friends
Merida and Glory. As you can imagine it was yet again an energetic fun filled afternoon
for these two!
