Pippin was thrilled to be back for daycare and even more excited to see his favourite little friends out in the yard. He immediately spotted some familiar faces out there, daycare pals Bella and Jake! But after following me into the far yard, he was far more interested in playing with Rudy and Xiaobao who were off having their own little friendly wrestle. With no hesitation, Pippin quickly joined in and Jake wasn’t far behind. The four of these pups wrestled and jumped and played all morning long. Ladies Bella, Resa and Julie were watching the entertainment from a distance. Then sweet little Cloud arrived and he was ready to join in on the fun as well. Excited as can be to be back in his happy place, Cloud leaped out into the yard and was quickly greeted by all his friends. Lots of kisses, hugs and warm welcomes to be had! But soon enough he was right out there playing with the silly bunch, he especially loved Pippin and the two of them hit it off right away!

Max and Sadie had a wonderful start to their morning with us, right away they headed outside for a morning of play before heading back for their trail walk. Max was in an excited state all morning and was literally leaping and zooming around the yard in a fury, he must have smelled or heard something interesting from the adjacent yard because he was very distracted. Meanwhile Sadie was having her own fun playing with all the newly found toys in the yard that have appeared from the melting snow. Then of course there was an epic wrestle to be had by the two of them by the agility tunnel and wars over who could sit on top of the picnic table. Its Sadie’s favourite spot to sit and watch over the yard, but lately Max wants a turn at being the King of the castle!

Boris and Tasha started their morning off with an outing, some time to play and burn off some much-needed energy before their morning trail walk. Straight to business for these two as they excitedly explored the yard, so many new scents to pick up since being here last! Once they were done with their usual laps around the yard, it was time to play and Tasha started to slink towards Boris in anticipation to chase him. Then off Boris went leaping into the air as Tasha kicked up snow behind her to chase after him. I must give it to Tasha, she can keep up with her fast and agile son Boris and the two of them can have a blast even just on their own. But luckily for Boris and Tasha, they got to meet up with favourite Husky pals Sky and Isis for an afternoon of fun. Boris now has three ladies that he must outrun but he is always up for the challenge!

Chloe was very confused when she first entered the yard. She spotted me climbing over the fence and began pacing back and forth as I disappeared to the other side. I was talking to her as I was walking along the fence line and she followed along with her nose to the base of the wood, monitoring where I was. I could tell she was confused as I peered through the slits and her head was tilting left and right, listening for my movements. Her confusion turned into pure joy as I returned over the great wall of china with 3 frisbees, 2 hockey balls, 1 chuck it ball, and 1 rubber bone. It was second best to Christmas morning for her. She couldn't even focus on which toy she wanted the most, scattering back and forth from frisbee to frisbee while holding a ball in her mouth. Finally, she decided the blue frisbee was what she wanted to play with. I began launching to for her, as Sophie came up with another blue frisbee in her mouth, which Chloe immediately knew she needed to have! She ended up with both of them under her paws and she was looking back and forth, debating in her head which to pick up. I snatched one from her and launched it and the games began. We had a lot of fun playing fetch with different frisbees and some hockey balls. We alternated toys as she wasn't too keen on giving up whichever she had retrieved. These games carried on for her whole outdoor time. She was very excited when I let her bring a ball inside with her to suck on in her kennel.

Riley was very excited to get outside today and notice that he had two youngsters in his group, Finn and Georgia. Their outgoing personalities and busy energy got him moving right away. Riley was beyond fascinated by Georgia and Finnigan. This pair loved wrestling and boxing around, which Riley was eager to closely monitor. He wasn't too sure how to get involved in their physical play. As soon as Georgia broke off from the wrestling and began bolting across the yard, Riley's eyes lit up on and he was in on the fun. This trio zipped around the yard in a train as fast as possible over and over. Georgia led both Finn and Riley around the fence obstacle, through the tunnel, over the tunnel, and around the rocks while dodging all the other dogs. Riley was so happy with all this fun playing. Finn was equally pleased to partake in these fun games with a mutual youngster and his new pal, Riley. After what seemed like endless fast laps around the yard, these three had their tongues hanging out and were keen to sniff around to catch their breath. When investigating the yard, Riley made sure to check up on Roobee. Roobee had her eye on Riley racing around for the whole first portion of out door time. She was very chatty, monitoring his actions, but stuck close to my side rather than following him around. Roobee loved spending time tucked under my arm with Tucker the golden retriever between my legs. We had a good cuddle session as the three hooligans played around. When Riley and Roobee hung out before heading indoors, Finnigan and Georgia found themselves very occupied with a big mud puddle. Despite my requests and reminders to "leave it", the two weren't going to leave the mud any time soon. I was dreading the possibility of Finn lying down, luckily it was a little too chilly for that. He kept busy digging and sticking his muzzle in instead. We had to tidy him up before going back to his kennel which he was bit embarrassed about.
Roobee and Riley knew exactly what time it was when I approached their kennel door this afternoon, time for their extra attention session! Two wiggling bums followed behind me down the hallway and into the playroom. Riley and Roobee had just come from an outing outside and therefore they were excited to spend some time indoors away from all that unexpected snow! Riley sniffed around in the toy box to see if there was anything of interest while Roobee sprawled out on the floor on her back just waiting for her belly rub! They soon came together for a brain game using the treat dispenser paw; they were the perfect team as they collected all the yummy treats. And a few more rewards for both of them as they gave me the perfect sit and paw. The rest of their time was spent sitting at my feet on the floor while enjoying some head rubs; the perfect way to finish off their afternoon!

It was so nice to see the sweet twins walk in this morning, followed by their hooligan brother. Athena and Aphrodite never fail to set the standard of friendly giants. We love having them here as they are always available to give us a good snuggle. Hercules is just as much of a pleasure to have as he adds so much fun to whatever is going on, and is always able to put a smile on our faces. Today was no exception. The trio was eager to get out into the yard and see what has changed outdoors since their last visit. The girls were happy to stick their noses to the ground and wander around the yard investigating the terrain. Hercules had no time at all for the sniffing and exploring nonsense. He was immediately drawn to Charly, the young golden retriever, and began zipping and zooming around her asking to play. She was just as keen as he was to play. She play bowed to him and zoomed ins one circle around him before swatting at him a couple times. This was the perfect invite for Hercules to pounce. They began boxing and wrestling, which lead to a very fast paced chase around the yard. As they began to motor and move, Athena and Aphrodite noticed and chose to join in. The girls tried their hardest to keep up to the speed and agility of the two youngsters. With some success, they briefly played along. The girls ended up making their way to me, alternating taking both my hands under their sides and accepting loads of pats and cuddles. I switched back and forth between the girls offering them loads of love, and appreciating their warmth on this windy day while Hercules continued to race and run around until it was time to head indoors for a nap before their walk.
