Benji was glued to Finlay again in the yard; he loves him so much! Today
they got to walk together and they kept twirling up their leashes from running
back and forth with each other. When they got back inside, Finlay curled up in
his bed with Olive and Benji went and finished off his breakfast. Later on in
the morning, Finlay, Olive and Benji all got to go outside together again.
Benji and Finlay started playing like they usually do, but Finlay decided to
say hello to Wolf, the little husky pup. Wolf was snuggling with Tiffani in the
yard and Finlay put his paws up onto her too and was sniffing Wolf while he was
sitting. Tiffani pulled Finlay up onto her lap with her and he sat right over
top of Wolf. They were all sitting there, and Benji came right up to Finlay and
demanded that they play. Finlay was content getting lots of snuggles from Tiff
on her lap, so she pulled Benji onto her legs too and started to pet him as
well. While these two boys were getting lots of cuddles, Olive was busy hanging
out with all of her friends. There were tons of dogs out in the yard and Olive
kept running back and forth between Newt and Timber.
Olive, Finlay and I spent some time in the
front reception together for their extra attention time. Olive was very
interested in being a desk dog, and wanted to sit beside Kinsey while she
worked at the desk. She sat there for a bit, very content. Finlay was excited
to get up to the front and play around. He followed Olive behind the desk and
stood there with her while she sat, giving her a million kisses on her face. It
was very cute! While Olive was spending time with Kinsey, Finlay came over and
sat on my lap while I rubbed his back and gave him a massage. He tried to give
me so many kisses while we were sitting down. Once I got these two roaming
around the room, I put some treats in the treat-finder and they both went to
town on it! Finlay tends to hog all the treats so I pet him while we gave Olive
a turn. Olive is so quick to find the treats but her little nose is too short
to get them out. She would paw at them until they came out. Clever girl! Finlay
and Olive finished it off and then came to me for some quick cuddles. They
explored a little more and then it was time to go back to their kennel. Pretty
soon it would be dinner time and they were so excited.
Newt had lots of fun in the yard today! She was so snugly when we first
went outside. It was a bit rainy and she was taking it easier on her little
shoulder today, so she made sure to spend lots of time with me. She came up to
me for some snuggles and buried her head into my legs. I rubbed behind her ears
and she leaned into my hand the entire time. She then turned around wanted me
to rub her back. I rubbed her back and her bum wiggled the entire time. She
then was in a more spirited mood and wanted to go and see what her friends were
up to. Olive the Boston Terrier was right by us, waiting for Newt to come play.
Olive doesn't really like to play, but loves to follow her friends around and
sniff them as they go. Newt said hello to Olive and then Timber, her big Lab
buddy and danced around with Timber for a while. All day, Timber was following
Newt around and sniffing her with his tail wagging so fast. He is older now and
can't play with Newt but she is always the highlight of his day. After spending
time with her friends, she went to grab the rope toy. We played tug-of-war for
a few minutes. It wouldn't be a good outing if Newt didn't get to play with her
toys! I let her take the small rope toy in and she carried it to her kennel but
dropped it right in front of the door. She was happy to get back inside and
wait for a little lunchtime treat!
Maya and Rocky had a really good day! They got to spend their time
inside in the kitchen today, and they loved it. Maya was so happy to see all
the people coming in and out of the room, and each time she made sure to sneak
in a few pets. Rocky was glad to get the entire comfy, fluffy bed all to
himself while Maya was waiting for the next visitor. He took a nice long nap in
there, and it was perfect because it was nice and warm. When it was time to go
out for their long morning group time, Maya and Rocky were both more relaxed in
the yard. Rocky stuck to his usual routine, of finding a nice patch of snow to
settle down on while watching all the youngsters play around. Maya decided to
hang back with her big brother for a while, and sniff the bushes near the fence
for a bit. These two then got some little visitors come and see them. Ayla and
Wolf, two of our little husky pups were very interested in Rocky. He and the
puppies are about the same size right now and they absolutely adored him. Ayla
kept putting her front paws on Rocky's back while he was sitting down. He would
try to look back at her, but she would jump around him, looking for him to
play. Rocky didn't want to play with Ayla but he got up and tried to give her a
sniff as well. She backed up and gave him a little playful bark and pawed at
him again. Rocky wasn't budging but he seemed to love the attention from his
new little friend. Maya has always been a fan of the little pups and she was so
happy to see them today! While Ayla was with Rocky, Maya was focused on Wolf.
Wolf is a little more shy than Ayla, but Maya was very gentle with him and
crouched down and let Wolf sniff her nose. Maya followed him around for a
little while, watching him sniff the fence. She went up behind him and spooked
him a bit and he turned around and lied down on the snow. This excited Maya and
she took of running across the yard to see Newt and Olive playing. Maya and
Rocky both came back to the kitchen and had some company while Tayler and
Kinsey ate their lunch.
Max and Sadie both a good day today. They walked on the trail right when
they arrived with Tayler. After their walk, they both cozied up to their beds
and took a snooze. I woke them up later when it was time to go outside for
their outdoor play time. I made them both sit very nicely on their beds while I
opened the kennel door and told them to stay. They both sat there quietly,
waiting for the okay to go. Once I told them to go, Sadie leaped up, and both
these goofballs went through the door at the same time, bolting into the yard.
They each took their time walking around, going their separate ways for a bit.
For the first half of the time we were out there together, they mainly did
their own thing, and explored different parts of the yard. Once I went over to
Sadie and was petting her, that's when the real fun began. I was sitting on the
ground petting Sadie, rubbing her ears and back, and then Max came out of no
where and bumped into Sadie, and then he stole her away so that they could
play. They tumbled all over each other, with Max over top of Sadie for most of
the time, but the odd time, Sadie would bounce up and she would have her paws
on Max's back. They continued in their game for a while, and when they both got
a little tired, Max came over to me for some snuggles. I sat down and he pushed
his nose right into my face and started to give me kisses. Sadie eventually
came too, wanting to get in on it as well, and they were both sitting by my
side, enjoying some good pets. They then erupted in more playing around the
yard, this time making sure to chase each other around. When Sadie had had
enough playing, she leaped onto the little kid picnic table and lied down,
letting Max know that she was tired of playing. He was quick to find something
else to do, coming over to me for more attention, which I was happy to give.
These two were eager to go inside and get a good drink of water.
Max E. had another great day today! For his first big outing, he was
joined by his regular pals and some new daycare friends, Teddy and Spencer.
Before going to play with al his friends, Max sorted out the location of the
toys in the yard of course and then selected his favorite one. At first he
picked up the small brown rope toy, but instantly dropped it when he saw the
brand new one. He carried it around and I tossed it for him a few times. After
doing this, he got into another game of tug-of-war with Nyxx. These two boys
are the perfect match for this game, because they both never want to give up
the toy! After tugging and tugging, Max finally ended up with the rope, but
soon lost it after Cooper swooped in and stole it. Max was okay with this
because it gave him time to sneak in a few cuddles and play with his friends.
He decided to check out the new dog Spencer. Max likes Spencer a lot, and these
two played together for a long time. He had lots of fun playing but I knew he
had lost interest when i saw him searching for his toy again. Cooper had it
still, but instead of stealing it back, Max opted to wrestle with Cooper first.
Max jumped right into Cooper and then they kept standing up on their hind paws,
play-fighting together. Once he had his friend totally distracted, Max crept
towards his rope toy and grabbed it finally! After that, he didn't let go once
until it was time to head in.
Teddy was up to his usual herding routine in the yard today! He was
running in circles all around the big group of dogs that were outside. I was
standing in the middle too, and I didn't eben notice for the longest time that
Teddy was running around us. At one point I think he had all the dogs that were
outside gathered around each other, and he was just running laps around us all.
I noticed that Teddy always seems to run in the same direction each time, so I
tried to make him switch it up. I started to chase Teddy around and he seemed
to actually be really happy about it. He kept looked back at me, with a big
goofy look on his face. I chased him around the tunnel and then ina dn out of
the far yard a couple of times. I went to go and pet him once we stopped
running, but Teddy then started to play a little keep-away game with himself
and I. While he was running he bumped into Cooper and Spencer, who were
wrestling around in the snow. Teddy was interested and decided to join them.
Before they all began playing together, the three of them stood there and
barked at each other for a few minutes. Each of their tails were wagging but
none of them were moving. I'm guessing that they were discussing what they were
going to do, and then once they decided they all ran at each other and played
for a good remainder of group time.
Spencer was the most popular guy in his group today! During his first
outing today, he met lots of new friends, including three huskies. Jynxx was
his favorite of the three and he followed her for the longest time. With
Spencer being the handsome man he is, Jynxx was happy to play with Spencer. She
would crouch down in front of him, wagging her tail back and forth and then
Spencer jumped right onto her, almost like they were cuddling on the ground. He
played with Jynxx for a few more minutes and then started playing with his
other friend Cooper. He and Cooper are both big tough guys and wrestled
non-stop. Spencer got his good friend Teddy to join in on their game too.
Spencer is always so happy to see his good daycare friends, Teddy included!
Teddy chased Spencer around
Henry was so excited to get outside. Percy went
running past so Henry decided to join him. Percy then left him to check out a
different part of the yard. Henry didn’t seem to mind, he was engrossed in the
newly melted snow. He spent some time checking out one section before he
noticed the bigger puddle by the big rock. Once Henry had sampled all the
delicious melted snow he was ready to play. He spotted Dani running around and
went to see if she wanted to play. In the end, Henry decided to just go racing
after her. The running didn’t last super long as a twig distracted him. Henry
seemed pretty happy with the twig. He was shaking his head and tossing it
around. Henry only left his stick when he noticed Tucker and Kaylie bugging me
for attention. Not wanting to miss out he came over for some of his own. Once
he’d had enough pets Henry headed out with his nose to the ground. Henry spent
a good chunk of time exploring until he was distracted by Dexter and Olive
playing. He went running after them for a bit. It wasn’t long before he was
exploring in the snow once more.
Dexter was content to hang out on his own for a bit
when he first got outside. He was so focused on having his nose to the ground
and finding all the interesting things. Dexter didn’t seem to mind when Percy
tagged along after him for a little while, though. He seemed determined to see
every little bit of the yard that he could. Eventually Dexter did get curious
about what the rest of the group was up to. He left off his exploring to make
his way over to where a bunch were hanging out. There Dexter met up with Olive.
They said their hellos and then decided to go their separate ways. A little
while later when Dexter and Olive met up once more it was time to play. Dexter
took off running with Olive close behind. They ended up over by the tunnel,
where Dexter ran through it, greatly confusing Olive. Instead of coming out the
other end Dexter came out the same side. As soon as he reemerged Olive pounced
on him. They spent the next little while running around together with a few of
the others joining in along the way. After burning off all that energy Dexter
got back to exploring.
Olive went trotting out to the far part of the yard
to start checking things out. She was more interested in what the rest of the
group was up to, then what she might find in the yard. Olive went from dog to
dog seeing how they were doing and what they were up to. When she had seen all
the dogs Olive took a good central position where she could see everything and
decide her next move. In the end she went trotting off to do a little exploring
in the snow. It didn’t hold her attention for long, so as soon as she spotted
Henry playing with the twig she went trotting over. Not too far away some of
the dogs started to group up. In that group, Olive met up with Dexter. They had
a bit of a moment, but instead of playing Olive decided to spend some time with
me and gets some pets and attention. Once she had had enough Olive was ready to
play. She met back up with Dexter and went chasing after him. They ended up
over by the tunnel, which Dexter ended running through. Olive couldn’t quite
figure out what had happened and spent some time staring at the tunnel. When
Dexter emerged, she pounced and they took off running. Soon they were joined by
some of the other dogs.
Dani were racing out into the agility yard. She had
to run at slightly lower speeds then she typically does, but she still managed
to go tearing around the yard without wiping out in a puddle. After a couple
laps around the yard Dani decided to do a little exploring. She ended up over
in the far section of the yard with her nose to the ground. Dani’s attention
was then caught by Henry who was checking out the puddles of melted snow. She
didn’t find the wet super fun and so headed back to the snowier part of the
yard. It wasn’t long before Dani was throwing herself to the ground and
rolling. With that out of her system Dani set out to see what Dexter was
looking at. After that she was all about the running once more. Dani went
racing off at top speeds, having a great time by herself. Eventually she caught
Henry’s eye and he went racing after her. Henry found a stick as he was jogging
along so he stopped to have a chew on it, while Dani continued on her way
around the yard. It eventually led her over to where Henry was now looking at
something in the snow.
Percy went running out to the agility yard and
immediately met up with Henry. They spent some time running around together,
but soon they split up to check out different parts of the yard. Percy decided
to make his way over to the far part of the yard to see what was going on out
there. He didn’t stay there long and soon headed out to see more of the yard.
Percy’s attention was then captured by the puddle of melted snow and spent some
time checking it. He also happened to meet back up with Henry while he was
doing so. Percy then left the puddle to go and see Kaylie. He spent some time
checking her over then promptly decided he’d rather like to play with her. Kaylie
wasn’t really up to it, so Percy headed off to check out the tunnel. When he
finished with the tunnel he then just followed his nose. When some of the group
ended up gathered near me, Percy couldn’t bear to miss anything and came
running over to be included. Olive and Dexter soon went running off. Percy, not
one to miss out on anything fun, went racing after them.
Storm went trotting out to the agility yard and
started checking things out. He toured around the yard for a bit, but when he
noticed Koda making his way to the tunnel, Storm decided to join him. They went
up and down either side of the tunnel giving it a very thorough once over. Kimi
came over to see Koda. They started to play and Storm not wanting to be left
out quickly trotted over to join them. It quickly turned into Kimi giving Storm
a once over. When she was done, she went wandering off. Storm and
Koda turned to each other then went running off together. They did a lap around
the yard and soon came upon Kimi. Storm, Koda, and Kimi spent some time
bouncing around, but soon she left to do her own thing. Storm then decided to
head off and do his own thing. He set out to do some more exploring and see
what everyone else was up to in the yard. At one point Storm just started to
run around by himself for fun. Storm wasn’t on his own for long, though because
he quickly went running over to Koda to see what he was up to now. It wasn’t
long before the two of them were wrestling some more.
Tsavo was pretty happy to be heading out for group
time. She set out to see what the rest of the group was up to and what all
might be different in the yard. Tsavo toured around the yard a couple times to
make sure she hadn’t missed anything. She then took up a position where she
could see everything in the yard and just stood watching all of what was going
on. Tsavo noticed a couple dogs checking out the tunnel and so decided to go
and give it a once over of her own. Once there was no mystery to the tunnel she
went trotting off. Tsavo met up with Storm at one point, but she decided not to
play with him. Not too long after that she made her way over by the agility
yard gate where she met up with Justice. They checked each other over, this
then quickly turned into the two of them bouncing around and having a great
time.
Kimi set out determined to see everything in the
yard. She stopped here and there to say hello to the other dogs, but she was
still very focused on the yard. Kimi made her way all the way to the far
corner. When she got there Justice soon joined her. They spent some time
checking each other over. Justice was soon trying to get Kimi to play with him,
but other than a little light bouncing she didn’t seem overly interested. Kimi
then took a position so she could see all of what was going on in the yard. She
wasn’t there very long as she went and pounced on Koda. This caught the eye of
Storm, who came over to see what was going on. Kimi changed tactics and decided
to give Storm as once over. With that done she went wandering off to do some
more exploring in the snow. After a little while Kimi found herself joined by
Koda and Storm. After spending a little more time with them, she headed out to
continue exploring.
Mylo decided to start his group time off with some
exploring. His nose hit the ground and he started to check out anything that
caught his eye. As Mylo made his way further into the yard he was stopped by
Jemma and Jake who wanted to check on him and say their hellos. He reciprocated
and gave them each a once over. Jemma and Jake then went running off to play so
Mylo got back to his exploring. Apparently it wasn’t as interesting as Jemma, so
it wasn’t long before he made his way back to her. She was now doing a little
exploring of her own. Jemma took a liking to Mylo and was soon asking him to
play. He wasn’t quite sure of what to do, so Mylo left her to go and check out
the tunnel. After he had checked the tunnel over thoroughly Mylo headede out to
check out more of the yard. Along the way he met up with Cai. They spent some
time saying hi. Even after Cai had turned away to see Jake, Mylo followed after
him, intrigued by his fluffy tail. Eventually he’d checked out Cai enough and
decided to make his way over to me. Mylo plopped himself down and waited for
some pets. The rest of the group started to get crazy so Mylo headed over to
watch.
Cai was quick to go trotting out to the far part of
the yard and start checking everything out. He was very absorbed in his search
that he barely acknowledged the rest of the group. Eventually Cai finished with
all he wanted to look at. He went trotting over to join up with the group. Cai
met up with Jake first, then Jemma, and Mylo. With his hellos out of the way
Cai was about to set out to do some more exploring. He had a bit of a tag along
as Mylo followed him, still checking him out. Cai made his way over to the
tunnel and started checking it out, when Jake came up and nudged him. They
bounced around a bit, but Cai was determined to still explore some more. About
two minutes after that he went charging after Jake ready to play. Soon they
were having a grand old time. When he started to get tired Cai left Jake to go
and do some more exploring, but when Jake started to play with Jemma and Windy,
Cai went running over to join the fun.
Jemma was so
excited to head out for group time. Her first action was to go and see who all
was in her group and say hello. Jemma met up with Jake first. He then took
quite a shine to her and decided to follow her around as she went. Next up came
Mylo. That was about as far as she got in her hellos as Jake chose that moment
to ask her to play. Jemma and Jake had a great time bouncing around and
wrestling. When it was time to take a break Jemma decided to do a little
exploring in the snow. It wasn’t long before Mylo joined her and they enjoyed
checking things out together. Since Jemma can only not play for so long, she
was soon asking Mylo to play, unfortunately he didn’t really want to. Jemma was
fine with that, though and went to go play with Jake some more. Jake wrestled
around until his nose caught a scent that he absolutely had to follow. Shortly
after Cai and Windy made their way over to Jemma. Windy and Jemma really hit it
off and were soon having so much fun wrestling. They pretty much spent the rest
of group time playing together, with a couple breaks in between.
