Another snowy day called for another epic playtime for our little friends this morning! Although small in size, the small-dog group was large and in charge today! Boarding pals Maya and Toast picked up right where they left off yesterday and chased one another into the far yard for some fun in the snow! These two were in their own little world of play. Every time I looked over they were wrestling and burying one another in the snow in pure joy. You could just tell by the goofy looks on their faces how much fun they were having together and at times would have to take a break mid-wrestle to catch their breaths giving me the perfect photo opportunity. Maya playfully had Toast buried beneath her in the snow and as I approached them, they both looked at me with the biggest smiles as if they were saying “nothing to see here”!

Little Rocky had lots of extra company this morning to keep him warm in his usual spot by the door. But before he settled, I secretly saw him take a nice snow-roll in excitement the moment he got outside! Something about all this fresh snow gets everyone feeling frisky, but when he caught me watching him, he immediately stopped and went back to playing the poor cold boy; he gets what he wants that way and he knows it! Don’t worry Rocky; little Lola likes to play that card as well. She ran around the door in circles in protest when she knew I was watching. But when I was off in the far yard with the others, I could see her venture out and do some exploring of her own, little trickster that one is! Sister Pearl didn’t mind the snow at all; in fact she embraced it and ran around endlessly with her nose to the ground in excitement. She definitely wore her little legs out this morning trudging through all of that snow and was thankful to have her warm bed waiting for her inside, but probably not as excited as sister Lola was!

Speaking of noses to the ground, instinctual explorers Coco and Timbit’s loved that all of the fallen snow provided the perfect hunting game. They searched that yard high and low with their heads buried to the ground in exploration. Finally when they thought the job was done, they decided to have a their own wrestle in the snow after seeing how much fun Maya and Toast were having. There they were, two pairs side by side having a blast, kicking up snow behind them. All of this fun got the attention of playful gentlemen Miko and Benji who were watching from the sidelines just waiting for the right moment to join in. Miko decided to take a run towards Maya and Toast but was quickly intercepted by little Coconut who wanted so badly to play with little Miko. Miko just adored the attention and this sent him off with a case of the zoomies across the yard to see if he could outrun Coconut; his little ears were flapping in the wind as he picked up speed! Well now Benji wanted to join in and this silly boy started running circles around them in excitement! Always playful and happy, Benji enjoyed another day playing with his favourite four-legged friends!

Boris had a lot of fun today. He was pleased to re-unite with other dogs. Of course, he was in a group that was mostly huskies. It took him no time at all to begin flirting with Kyah and asking her to please play. Kyah briefly gave in and the two romped around, but she soon let Boris know that she was too mature for his shenanigans. Boris then wandered around in search of another play mate. He was pleased to meet up with Koda. Koda and Boris made a great pair. They are equally strong and playful, making their games very busy and intense. Justice wasn’t far behind and soon these three boys were playing around together. All this action got Tasha’s attention. She insisted on breaking up the boy time. Tasha needed both her sons to know she was boss. Justice seemed to tell her to lighten up and Tasha told him off and the two ended up racing around in circles. Boris joined in on this fun too, accompanied by Phoebe, Kyah, and Koda. They zoomed around the yard with big smiles on their faces, enjoying the deep snow, also known as husky paradise.

Issy was feeling extra frisky when she entered the yard today. She was thrilled to see that she had access to all three yards and immediately took advantage of this, running into the agility yard from the far yard and doing a hundred circles in the deep snow. All this frantic action got the attention of Boris and Justice very quickly. Issy wasn’t too sure about these boys, however she was keen on Koda. Issy danced around with Koda for a little bit and then gave Boris and Justice the time of day. Issy was happy to spend some time with Tasha too. The mother daughter pair sniffed around side by side while their sons and grandchildren zoomed in circles around them. Mocha on the other hand wasn’t too keen on all the snow on the ground as well as all the snow falling from the sky. She confined herself to the protected kennel in the main yard, refusing to come cuddle me. I had to sit in the kennel next to her giving her pets and cuddles rather than her coming out. When Koda spotted me giving her attention he zoomed in to check her out. This got Mocha up off her bum and moving around. Koda flirted with Mocha so much, which she wasn’t apposed to. The two were very cute wagging their tails and licking one another’s ears. Mocha danced around with Koda for a brief while before wandering away from him and exploring the yard before it was time to come back indoors.
Max is hilarious when it comes to fresh snow. I’m not sure what it is that is so intriguing to him, but he will do just about anything to capture a handful of snow in his mouth. I had Max leaping all around the yard for snow today. His favourite thing was when I made a snow ball and launched it across the yard and then it disappeared when it landed. He kept coming back to me asking for more after he had sniffed around looking for the mysterious disappearing ball. Max also loved his fast group mates. The huskies and his daycare friends were so busy running around today. Max loved racing after the huskies and trying to get in the lead. A couple of times he successfully out ran them and ended up leading them around the yard. He loves to race behind the outdoor kennel and loop them around the agility tunnel too. He is so fast on his feet, only ever stopping when his friends lose interest in chasing him. At the end of all Max’s playtime, he came to my side for some good pets and cuddles before returning indoors.
Percy was so happy to be apart of such a fun group today. He was so occupied with all the action that he didn’t even realize there were no toys for him to play with. Percy loved racing after his three huskies friends all day. They are so speedy and agile, that it gives him a lot to focus on. There’s nothing Percy loves more than a good challenge. Percy was so fast on his feet, racing as fast as possible after Nyxx, Jynxx, and Skie all around the yard. He was great at following them around all the obstacles, especially through the tunnel. The trio was surprised when he never left their sides. They ended up giving in to his games and splitting up to see who he would chase. When they all split up Percy seemed a little confused and he came to my side instead. Coope bolted by just in the nick of time, distracting Percy. Percy bolted after Cooper and these two ended up frolicking with one another for a bit. Percy enjoyed boxing with Cooper, and trying to chase him around. After some socializing with his lab friend, Percy met back up with the huskies for more fast paced running.
Sophie was very happy to head out into the yard for some one on one time this morning, rather than trekking through the deep snow on a walk. She loved exploring without her friends running in circles around her. When it was time for her main group, she was just as keen to head out and keep an eye on little Charlotte. Sophie wandered around the yard in slow motion, following Charlotte as she sped around like a chicken with her head cut off. Whenever Sophie got to the yard Charlotte was in she would make her way to my side for some attention while monitoring Charlotte’s every move. Sophie loved being pet and cuddled while her playful group mates kept busy. Sophie looked so lovely covered in a light sprinkling of snow when it was time to come back in. She shook off in the hall, resulting in it looking like it was snowing indoors. Charlotte was so busy in the yard today. She only stopped moving once, when I offered her a treat for a photo of her face. Charlotte loved her group so much, she was thrilled to meet Ruby, a lovely puppy. Ruby and Charlotte were a match made in heaven from the moment they got outdoors. The duo raced around the yard after one another with company of fellow golden, Windy. Charlotte was so intrigued by Ruby she followed her everywhere and even got her running through the tunnel. Ruby is so happy go lucky, and easy going, making for a wonderful playmate. Charlotte loved wrestling with her, boxing with her, and running in circles with her. The pair never stopped moving.
