Allie was a very sleepy, happy cat today. She spent her day curled up in the hammock of the cat tree snoozing away. When I joined her this afternoon she squinted her eyes at me, and curled up into a tight ball. I gave her some cuddles which she seemed to enjoy as she purred and kneading her paws. When I stopped paying attention to her she stretched out her paws and scratched at the post while still laying down. I gave her a few more chin scratches before leaving her be to snooze away the afternoon in the sunny window.
Max and Sadie were on fire today; from the
moment they got here they were just rearing to go and ready for their morning
trail walk. A nice walk later and they still had enough energy to burn off
outside and Max started whipping around the yard in excitement. Sadie has been
the one who has been exceptionally frisky lately, but today Max stole the show
and he seemed to have endless amounts of energy pouring out of him. Poor Sadie
just wanted to frolic in the snow but Max had others ideas on his mind and
started a good brawl with his sister. I had to get out of the way while these
two gentle giants weaved in and out of the yard with snow kicking up behind
them. Sadie didn’t mind so much, she is always down for a wrestle with her
silly big brother and they didn’t stop playing until the moment it was time to
head back inside. Boy, were they thankful for their big fluffy beds this
afternoon!
Next up was the big and silly daycare group
including Husky pals Boris, Tasha and familiar face Anja! Boris and Anja
immediately picked up from last time; a good old-fashioned Husky brawl was in
order! Lots of jumping and singing was to be had this afternoon and they played
their little hearts out. There were so many friends in the yard today however;
Anja’s mind was preoccupied, a wrestle with Boris then a chase with Charly and
a few songs to be sung with Percy! Needless to say, Anja had her hands full and
was thrilled to be back in our company. Even Tasha couldn’t resist a good play
with Boris and Anja and although older, that girl can keep up and loved being
in the centre of all of the action. But she couldn’t forget a good nose nuzzle
with best little pal Merida! Percy was having the time of his life out there,
all he needs is some fresh air accompanied by good friends and he is golden!
Percy definitely picks up on the energy of his groups and today’s vibe was all
play and he felt welcome in the Boris-Anja pack; he even started singing like a
Husky! Speaking of Huskies, Miss Issy was out there enjoying her time with this
young rambunctious crowd, I am sure she can remember the days when she was that
silly! Although not eager to join in, she loved the company nonetheless and
stuck to her usual path weaving in and out of friends with a few hellos on the
way by! Mocha thought to herself there is no way she is getting in the middle
of that Husky action, but she happily followed me in part way for a good sniff and
a little exploration. She doesn’t mind being off to the side most of the time,
that’s where she gets the most attention and love, smart girl if you ask me!
Teddie, Kizmet and myself enjoyed a great walk along the back trail this morning. The cold temperatures were hard on me but the boys weren't bothered at all. They love to stop and roll in the snow as well as dig at anything they think smells good. The pair couldn't have been happier to march down the hall and out the doors into the yard. They didn't even bother sniffing before getting down to business with their best buddy, Kyah. These three have become quite the mates this visit. Kyah will be sad to not have them around when their visit comes to an end. It was much of the same usual shenanigans for the monsters today. Teddie and Kiz did a lot of rolling around in the snow which always gets Kyah very excited. She would dance and prance around them until they stood up and gave her the time of day. Teddie was very keen to box around with miss Kyah. The pair make a great boxing team. Kismet and Kyah prefer to dance around and flirt with one another. It's pretty cute watching all the kissing and loving that they do, amongst all their other games.
Sophie had another great day today. She couldn't have been happier to head out into the small dog yard and immediately put her nose to the ground looking for her fun toy from yesterday. She was quick to recover the orange frisbee beneath a light layer of snow. She began shaking it around and dancing in circles. As she was tossing it around it went flying across the yard. This lead her to race over to it and roll all over it. She loves bathing herself in the cold snow, as well as marking herself on her favourite toy. We had good fun playing tug and then some fetch. When I began playing fetch with another set of dogs Sophie began leaping and bounding all around. She looked like a little puppy with all the energy she had! In order to get her to settle down, I retrieved the frisbee and gave it back to her which she then enjoyed chewing on. She was so happy with it she even brought it back indoors with her.
Macie was very interested in her newest group mates, Cabot and Tupper. These boys are fetch all-stars, which gave Macie a good run for her money. At first she was keen on the ball, but then she was keen on how fast and agile these boys were. Macie loves raced after them all around the yard. She tried her hardest to stay hot on their heels but it is impossible to match the skill and talent these boys have. She continued to frolic around the yard after them until they finally paid some attention to her. She loved dancing around with them. The games came to a quick end when they retrieved their ball and water to play more fetch. Macie wasn't too bothered by this since Vega began showing Macie some interest at this point. Macie then had some fun dancing around with Vega and Korvo until it was time to head indoors.
Miko had so much fun with us for his Tuesday daycare. He loved having a morning outing right off the bat. He instantly began ripping around the yard with his ears flapping in the wind. After loads of solo laps around the yard he met up with a little lady named Coconut. She is such a sweetheart, and today I saw a frisky side of her. She and Miko were a match made in heaven from the moment they met up. The duo had so much fun boxing around. Coconut loved running after after Miko with her arms out forward. Mike was great at dodging her and then surprise jumping her from behind. The pair continued these shenanigans for ages until Samson wandered by. He caught Miko's attention for a bit. These boys were pretty cute pawing at one another. Miko then broke off for some solo time exploring around the yard. He found a great big bone and dragged it with him to a sunny spot in the yard where he lay down and gnawed on it until it was time to head back indoors.
Lola and Pearl really aren't too sure about this weather. I can relate to them, for sure. Surprisingly Lola was more keen to be outside than Pearl was! Pearl takes two steps outdoors and begins lifting her paws and staring at me like she needs help. Lola on the other hand was so frisky today. She motored around the yard with her nose to the ground squeaking and squealing as she adventured across the arctic tundra. Pearl spent a lot of time in my arms today. When I finally set her down she got a brief urge to zoom around. She tucked her bum and motored in circles around the yard until she came across Lola who was exploring. Pearl then stopped her silliness to check out what Lola was investigating. The pair kept each other good company until it was time to head indoors, relaxing in the sun and sniffing the perimeter of the yard.
