Allie was in her usual spot when I joined her this afternoon, perched in the hammock keeping an eye on the world from above. She gave me a big “meow” and continued to stay curled up in the hammock. Since I know how playful she can be with a little encourage, I scooped her up from the hammock and placed her on the floor. I threw a few toys for her which she didn’t seem too fond of today, so I grabbed a string toy which she brightened up at the sight of. I flicked it around to get her attention and soon enough Allie was pouncing, leaping and grabbing at the toy. She ended her play session as soon as I stood up and she raced back to the window to make sure she didn’t miss anything.

Max and Sadie were pretty excited to see me this morning. The pair could barely wait for me to hook them up to leashes. Our walk started before I was even ready, as Max bolted out the door while the leash was sitting on the ground. He did a couple zoomies around the yard before coming back to my side with the leash. We had a great walk, stopping whenever the pair wanted to do some sniffing and exploring. In the yard, Max and Sadie discovered a great toy. Well, Sadie discovered the toy but Max wasn’t far behind her. Max tried to snatch it from Sadie, which only started a game of tug. Max did a great job getting a hold of the toy while Sadie had it in her mouth, but Sadie did an even better job of not letting go. They pulled each other all around the yard until finally, Max snatched it from his sister. Of course, this started a giant chase. After a couple laps around the yard with toy in hand, the toy dropped and they continued to zoom around. They ran and ran until they let me know it was time to go in by lying down. Sadie lay down on the picnic table, where she slurped up lots of snow while Max lay by the back door.

Teddie and Kizmet had an amazing last day. These boys will be excited to go home, but they will also miss all the fun they have been having here. I think I will miss them most, or my dog, Kyah. Kyah and Teddie/Kizmet have created such a strong bond throughout this visit. These three have become the three musketeers and I doubt it will ever change. Today they were so excited to see one another after Kyah had a one-day break yesterday. They met up instantly and the games began. As usual, there was a lot of rolling around and chatting. Teddie and Kiz are really working on their howl so that they sound a bit more like Kyah. Kyah loves to chat away with them as they play and bounce around. Today Kiz got Kyah pinned in a funny position, which started a lot of havoc amongst their other friends. They all began to race in circles, and dance around barking and chatting as Kizmet and Kyah flailed about on the ground. Soon Teddie was right in on it, pouncing all over Kyah asking her to please get up. These three kept at their shenanigans for ages, including all their other group mates as well. Kizmet broke off from Kyah and Teddie for a while to goof around with Spencer. Spencer and Kiz had a lot of fun dancing around while Teddie enjoyed some one on one time with Kyah.

Teddy loved his day with us today. He was part of a very busy group, which kept him very active. Teddy was very keen to motor around all his friends playing, trying his hardest to keep them in line with not so much success. Never the less, he continued to race and run around with a smile on his face. Teddy was pleased to meet up with Justice who seemed to be very fond of him. The two flirted a little bit, licking one another’s ears and dancing in circles before Justice play bowed to Teddy, asking for him to play. Teddy returned the invite and then dashed away looking for a chase. Teddy was happy to be the leader of a chase, which included Justice, Riley, and soon Kyah. They zoomed around the yard very fast onto to run right into Teddy and Kizmet wrestling around. Teddy then returned to racing in circles trying to get a good view of all the action going on.

Spencer was such a social butterfly today!! He had so much fun this Thursday for daycare, definitely one of his best days with us. Spencer couldn’t have been happier to meet up with his buddy Kyah. These two never have a hard time picking one another out in a crowd, and enjoying each other’s company. They were sure to do that today. They danced around and did a lot of boxing as all their friends gathered around them cheering them on. Spencer loves getting up on his hind legs and then pushing off and running in the opposite direction. Of course, this started a chase. He was pleased to be part of a very big, and fast race around the yard which involved numerous of his mates. After this he broke off for some more fun with Kyah, which soon involved another husky, Justice. Spencer had loads of fun with them. Teddie and Kizmet, who Spencer loved as well, interrupted their games! Spencer danced and pranced around with Teddie and Kiz, as well as Kyah, for ages. Their fun was never ending and the smile on Spencer’s face only grew as play time continued on.

Macie had a good time in the yard today. She was happy to re-unite with her daycare pal from last week, Cai. These two love one another. They were instantly drawn to each other today as they were last week. It wasn’t long before Macie was asking Cai to pay a lot of attention to her, and Cai was giving her loads of kisses. The pair did a lot of flirting before their games actually began. Macie wasn’t shy to put both her paws on Cai’s back, requesting for some boxing to begin. Cai was quick to whip around and leap right up with her. They danced around on their hind legs, pushing each other around while chatting away. This fun led to a brief race around the yard, which was led by Cai, with Macie hot on his heels. They continued to frolic around, side by side for the remainder of playtime. Occasionally, they would stop and goof around but they mostly enjoyed one another’s company as they sniffed and explored the yard.

Sophie is so much fun to have around. She always puts a smile on my face when I play with her; she is such a puppy at heart. Sophie was quick to begin entertaining herself today when she came across the Jolly Ball. This toy is great fun to a dog that loves to bat things around. Sophie enjoyed playing soccer with the ball, passing it back and forth between her paws as well as barking at it. When I got involved, she loved it even more. We played some soccer as well as some fetch. As she raced around after the toy she came across her beloved orange Frisbee. She has a strong connection with this toy for whatever reason. We had fun playing tug and fetch. Sophie danced all around the yard asking for me to throw it and play with her when I would only turn my back for half a second. She loved rolling all over her favourite toys too. When it was time to come indoors, Sophie brought the Frisbee with her, which she chewed later on. She seemed a little disappointed when it wasn’t in the yard during her next outing, but she was equally satisfied with a great bone that was lying in the snow.

Jemma was a busy girl today; she was paired with two groups today because we know how much she loves to play with both the big and small dogs groups! Her first outing was with the little ones, and although Jemma isn’t little in size, she is young at heart and I think she will be considered a puppy forever! We had the perfect playmates for her this morning, fellow daycare pals Maya and DJ. To no surprise, the three of them hit it off right away and wasted no time chasing one another into the far yard with DJ in the lead and Jemma and Maya not far behind. DJ was running so fast that his hind legs were one step in front of his front legs. I think Coconut and I are going to have sore necks from whipping our heads back and forth trying to keep up with these three speed demons! Maya was without Rocky today, but that clearly didn’t hold her back from having fun. She was full of beans today as she is most days and loved trying to keep up with DJ. Finally, Maya would finally catch up, and they would have a good wrestle but it wasn’t long before they were on the move again with snow kicking up behind them!

A short while later, Jemma was ready to do it all over again but this time with the bigger dog group and let me tell you she had just as much fun! She saw old friends Charly and Finnigan but was excited to meet young pup Blue. Blue and Jemma immediately connected and got right down into the snow to wrestle. This enticed everyone else to come over and join in including daycare ladies Tsavo and Kimi. Jemma pulled out her signature move of submissively rolling onto her back and wrestled with the bunch that were pawing at her from above! All of this puppy energy had Kimi feeling especially frisky and she decided to try and keep up with little Blue, whom she simply adored. There was Kimi, right in the middle of the action acting like a puppy herself and enjoying every single minute of it! Kimi must have taken a cue from Finnigan as well, since they were the two last ones in the yard and decided that they didn’t want to come back in, they gave us a good chase that’s for sure! Finn was excited to be back for an extra day of daycare and he led us straight to the staff room so he could join his pack consisting of Charly, Merida and Bentley. They were wrestling and playing on the ground every time I passed by and let’s just say they decided to do some redecorating for us while we weren’t looking! Outside, Finn spent his time wrestling with Blue and Jemma and but also made sure to taunt Charly with the red ball in mouth. But Bentley, who acts like their older brother stole the ball away and made them chase him around, he loved this game! Tsavo enjoyed all of the puppy energy and played around with the gang for a bit, but she much rather hang out with pint sized friend Merida. These two always seem to connect with one another out in the yard and they were seen bumping hips together as an enticement from Tsavo to play!

Issy and Mocha were excited to spend some time roaming around in the yard with all of the freshly fallen snow; it’s especially a favourite of Mocha’s. But their leisurely stroll was immediately interrupted by brother sister duo Jynxx and Nyxx who wanted them to play! Although Mocha and Issy politely said no to their invitation to play, Nyxx didn’t let up and pawed and howled at them until finally Issy gave in and wrestled back. Secretly I think Issy liked all of the attention she was getting from these young and playful ones. Mocha on the other hand wanted nothing to do with all of the puppy play, sure she let them sniff and say hello but wasn’t interested in a husky wrestle. She found a comfy spot and watched her sister fend them off from a distance! Percy loved all of the commotion out in the yard today; he went straight into herding mode as Windy and Haley started to wrestle. He didn’t join in but he happily barked and ran circles around them anyways!
