Riley and Roobee had an excellent first day back here at Tails & Trails! Riley and Roobee were in the staff room before their walk which they loved. Every time someone would go into the staff room Riley would be waiting right at the door to greet us before trying to convince us that he should get another belly rub or back scratch. Usually being successful, Riley almost showed off to Roobee who, in turn, would come sit beside us and wait for a head scratch. As soon as they got here they began their morning on a calm and relaxing walk in the back trail with a new friend. When it came time for their morning walk Riley and Roobee trotted out of their comfy beds and were ready to take on the cold. As soon as we got outside, Riley ran to the end of his leash and immediately started sniffing every possible scent in the yards that he passed through. Roobee was a little unsure but followed bravely behind Riley. Eventually she became more comfortable and was even wandering into the bushes to see what scents she could find. Riley spent most of his time at the end of his leash but he always enjoyed watching Roobee to see what she was doing and would also come back to me so that I could give him a quick head scratch. After their walk they went into their new kennel and snuggled back up into their beds. Riley and Roobee's long outdoor playgroup came filled with a ton of activities. Riley raced out into the yard so that he could meet all of his new friends. As soon as he got outside, he started running up to each and every dog just to quickly say hello before moving onto a new friend. Roobee didn't feel the need to greet anyone just yet, but instead decided to sniff around the agility yard. As their group time progressed, Roobee got a bit more playful as she started showing off her lovely voice to get some extra attention. She enjoyed following around the other dogs in her group and always wanted to see what every one was doing. Roobee especially enjoyed keeping an eye on where Riley was and what he was doing at all times. Eventually Roobee came over to me for a few pets before moving on once again. Riley was getting even more playful as he began racing around the yard with a new friend. He loved chasing him around the yard and also getting chased; however he is usually the one that does the chasing. Eventually he got tired of playing chase so I brought a toy ball outside for him and he loved it! As soon as Riley saw it he ran right up to me and immediately sat as he waited for me to throw it. This lasted for a little while until he was done playing with the ball and ready to search the yard. For the rest of this outing, Riley simply sniffed around the yard while searching for any scent he could find. Roobee also joined him right at the very end before going back inside to snuggle up for the afternoon.

Hudson is enjoying his stay more and more as the days pass by. This morning he went out on a very excited and definitely playful walk. I could tell that it was going to be interesting as he was already running around before I even got to his kennel. After being hooked up on his leash, he ran into the hallway and quickly realized that he was going on a walk with some of his good friends. Hudson started doing circles around his friends with excitement before I got everyone ready to go. Once they were ready, the three of them and I all raced out the door. Hudson's friends were just as energetic and playful as he is so it was a perfect match! However, I think they ended up doing a bit more playing than actually walking. Hudson went all over the place during his walk. Sometimes he'd be at the end of his leash trying to race his friends while at other times he would be consumed in playing with them. Whenever he was playing with them, Hudson would always jump over top of them and do his best to get all tangled up in the leashes (or so it seemed). Throughout the remainder of his walk, Hudson kept up the pace along with his friends. I thought he would have been a bit tuckered out from all the playing that he did during his walk but when it came time for his outdoor play group, Hudson was already up and racing out the door. Once he got outside it was game time. Hudson spent most of his time only doing one thing; running. I had found a orange and blue ball in the yard for him and he went crazy for it! Hudson picked it up and immediately started darting around the yard non-stop. He'd get everyone to follow him and try to get the ball from him but no one was ever successful. Every so often if no one was around him, Hudson would actually take a break and lie down in the snow with his ball. However, as soon as I or anyone went near him, he'd start running full speed around the yard once again. He looked so cute while he was showing it off proudly in his mouth.

Kouza set out in the yard during her group time with a determined look on her face. She made her way further into the yard to start checking things out. I asked Kouza what she was up to; her response was to come over for some pets and attention from me. Soon we were joined by Coconut and Sampson. Kouza turned to them and spent some time checking them over. Once the other two had wandered off, Kouza turned her back to me and demanded some butt scratches. Once she’d had enough she decided to head out  and see what some of the others were up to. With her curiosity satisfied, Kouza put her nose to the ground to do some exploring around the yard. She made her way all over the yard. Eventually she ended up over by one of the far corners. Kouza found a particularly interesting spot in the snow and made sure to check it over thoroughly. When she finished she continued on her way. Kouza’s path lead her to the tunnel and myself. She was quite happy to receive some pets while giving the tunnel a good once over.

Macie decided to start her group time with a little exploring. Her nose hit the ground and she was off in search of all sorts of interesting things. Macie made her way all around the main yard before heading out to the agility yard. She decided to continue on exploring for a little while longer. I think Macie was determined to find something exciting. Her tour around the yard eventually lead her over my way. Macie was more than happy to turn around and present her butt for some scratches. Her attention was then caught by Fergus. He noticed Macie watching him and came over to say hi. Soon they were bouncing around. Fergus then became distracted by something in the snow and had to go check it out. Macie tagged along waiting impatiently for the fun to start again. It wasn’t long before he was done and they were back to bouncing around. Not too long after that they were off running around the yard. Eventually Macie and Fergus took a break from playing. Macie made her way back to me for some more pets and butt rubs.
