Piper and Ranger were just as excited to go outside for
their group this morning just like they always are. Ranger ran ahead of Piper
down the hallway just to make sure he got outside first. Piper didn’t mind
following behind Ranger though, she usually trots right behind him following
his footsteps when they’re in the yard anyway. When they first walked into the
agility yard they decided to let out some energy that they were storing inside
of them and began to run around. Ranger took the lead as he bolted across the
yard and began to run laps in circles around all of the dogs. Piper ran as fast
as she could and tried to keep up with him but it wasn’t so hard for her since
Ranger kept on stopping to look back and wait for Piper to come to his side.
They stopped after a while and started to watch the other dogs from a distance, but once they saw a few of the dogs playing they both ran over and began to jump
around them with excitement waiting for the others to include them. Piper ran
over to me as Ranger was distracted by all of the other dogs and brushed her
face against my leg, she looked up at me with her mouth wide open to let out a
huge smile. I began to pet her for a while until she got too interested in the
other dogs and ran over to see them. She and Ranger didn’t play too hard today
but they loved to socialize and ran over to each of the dogs to say hello while
they were walking around the yard. They both decided to run around once more
before going back inside, this time Max thought he’d join them and as they were
all running together he passed them and Ranger did not like that. He sped up to
try to go ahead of Max but both him and Piper were super worn out and needed a
break. They headed over to the pool to take a drink of water before going back
inside.
Max P. is always such a goofball when he’s outside in the yard. He loves to bounce around and get in all of the other dogs business to try and get them to play with him. Today he wasn’t in much of a playful mood but still had so much energy and wanted to see all of the other dogs in his group. Right as he ran out the door he took off into the agility yard and started to jump around the big group of dogs so excited, and as he was saying hi to them they began to get hyper themselves and Max’s energy was rubbing off on them. A couple of the dogs began to run around after and Max chased them to the end of the yard then decided he wanted to explore first before he did any playing. He started at the end of the yard and began to sniff around the outdoor kennel to smell all of the plants that have grown around it. He stuck his face in them and began to munch on a few of them as he was sniffing. I’m not sure what’s so appetizing about grass but Max sure thinks it’s delicious. I called him over to distract him from further eating and he ran straight to me while wiggling his body. He was excited to get some more cuddles and as he came to me he shoved his head between my legs so I would know to scratch his back end. After he was done being pet he ran back over to the group of dogs and started to prance around them, he ran over to each dog until he found Piper and Ranger, these three love to play with each other and run around to play tag while they’re outside. The two dogs took off all of a sudden while Max turned around to see they began to run. He chased after them and caught up to them in no time. They all ran around together for a while before he headed over to the pool to jump in and cool off. He stood in the water for so long before heading back inside; he loved the pool so much.
Abby and Dudley were both so curious when I let them out of their kennel this morning. When it was time to go outside and I was calling all of the dogs to come out the door they stayed in the hallways and began to sniff up and down the kennels of the other dogs. Abby even ran in to one to sniff all of their bedding before I picked her up to join everyone else outside, and once Dudley saw me carrying Abby out he decided to finally come out as well. When they first got out into the small dog yard they set off to explore right away. They both began to sniff around the gravel by the door at first. Abby usually runs up to me right away to say hi and to get some cuddles but today she was focused on the ground and stuck right by Dudley to sniff around for a bit before seeing me. Dudley had his nose glued to the floor as he was sniffing each rock. He lifted his head to say hi to some of the dogs that walked over and said hi to him but he didn’t seem to want to socialize at first. Abby made her way further into the yard while Dudley stayed back to continuing exploring where he was, she began to wander around the grass on her own when she saw me sitting on the picnic table with a couple other dogs. She ran over and jumped right up to sit on my lap. That’s the Abby I know! She began to give me lots of kisses and climb all over me, and she is such an affectionate dog. Dudley saw and began to trot over to us, he seemed to be done exploring and on his way over he started to socialize with the other dogs and sniffed each dog that passed him. One of the dogs that he was saying hi to seemed to be really interested in him and started to play with Dudley, he’s not the most playful dog but these two were jumping up on each other and running around in circles for a bit which was so nice to see.
Iris and Amber were both very happy to go outside this morning. Amber wasn’t being as shy with me and let me touch her right away. I carried her out in the yard while Iris followed me and ran right at my feet. When we got into the yard I set her down and they both took off to explore. Iris started to sniff around the grass right away while Amber bolted into the further yard on her own. She runs so fast that I couldn’t even keep up with her! She began to smell along the fence while continuously looking up at me. When I went to go and see her she ran back into the other yard and stuck beside Iris. Iris continued to sniff around but looked up to give Amber a sniff as well. Amber decided to join Iris and they started to walk around together. Some of the dogs walked over to say hi to them and Iris was loving all of the attention. Meanwhile, Amber was a little unsure about it and stood still in place until they kept on walking. When I was sitting on the picnic table I called them over and Iris came running. She hopped up and sat right beside me as I began to pet her, she looked so happy up here as she sat to watch all of the dogs with the wind blowing in her hair and her tongue hanging out. Amber didn’t come right when I called her, instead she looked around at everyone for a while and slowly walked over to me and Iris from behind so I wouldn’t see her. She hopped up and surprised me as she sat beside Iris. The two of them laid down for a while and watched the other dogs play. When I came back over to see them Iris sat on my lap and Amber walked over to me to see if she could as well, I picked her up and sat her right beside Iris on me until we went back inside.
Percy and Birdie had so much fun out in their group today. They
are both so outgoing and energetic and love to show off while they’re in the yard. They spent most of their time playing with toys just like always. Birdie came in
this morning and everyone was so happy to greet her! She ran straight down the
hall and began to bounce into each room so curiously to check everything out.
When they both went outside for their group this morning all of the dogs
gravitated right to Birdie. Percy ran over to her right away to say hello along
with all of the other dogs. She was loving the attention and began to bounce
around the yard as Percy chased after her. She started to sniff around and
explore for a bit before she did anything else and Percy decided to join her at that. The two of them began to sniff around all of the long grass in the
agility yard. Birdie seemed to be very interested in the fence and ran over there
after to sniff along the bottom. Percy made his way back over to the beginning
of the yard when he was finished in the grass. He took a sip out of the pool
but wasn’t quite ready to jump in just yet. When I looked back, Birdie had
already found herself a toy and pick it up right away to show off to all of the
other dogs. I called her over to bring it to me so I could throw it but she did
not want to let go of it and risk losing her Frisbee so she kept it in her
mouth and pranced around in circles instead. Percy wanted to play with a toy as
well and began to chase after Birdie to try and get the Frisbee from her. Too
bad for Percy that she’s super-fast and he could barely get to her without her
flying away. I found another toy for him and threw it across the yard for him
to catch. Birdie chased after it as well and once she got to it before him she
didn’t want to lose the toy that was already in her mouth to pick up the other
one so she left it for her friend. Percy picked it up and was so happy about it that he began to
run around the yard all the way over to the agility tunnel and he ran through it
three times before coming out to show off his toy. We played fetch for a bit as
Birdie joined in just so she could run along with them. Once they were done, Percy ran over to the pool and hopped right in the water to soak it all up and
cool off. He stood in the pool with his toy looking so proud as Birdie continued
to run around him. She didn’t seem to want to go in the water at all and was
happy enough on the ground.
It took a little bit of convincing to get Mocha and Issy off their comfy beds in the staff room and to head out into the yard. Once out in the yard Issy did a nice big Issy stretch while Mocha slowly strolled into the grassy portion of the yard. The pair was very surprised to see two little minions in their group. Mocha stood still but stretched her head as far towards Joe as possible. She looked like a turtle poking out of it’s shell. Joe was so excited to smell a new dog so he came frolicking over to Mocha. Mocha reluctantly allowed the little one to sniff her over. She then did a loop around him while sniffing him. Once she realized he wasn’t so awful, she trailed along behind him as he zoomed off to check out his other group mates. Mocha kept her eyes on the pups for the entire group time. She didn’t do much sitting by the door today since they had her so busy. Mocha would wander in the yard and find a good spot in the sun to watch them, but as soon as one approached her she would pick herself up and move way showing zero interest in their antics. Issy was very slow to come out of her shell around the little ones. She sauntered around the outskirts of the yard minding her own business, while keeping very aware of their every move. As she made her way into the centre of the yard Issy met up with Joe. All of a sudden Issy’s tail began to wag very fast and she did a little dance around him. It was so cute to see Issy get so excited to be around a baby. The movement got Vegas attention and next thing Issy had two puppies licking her face and trying to get her attention. It didn’t take long for her to stick her nose up to them and move on. Issy then met up with Skye, a relative. Issy must be Skye’s grandma since Justice is her father. These two did a couple loops around one another before sniffing one another nose to nose. Skye gave Issy a friendly play bow then zoomed off. Issy briefly motored behind her, but chose to slow down and return to exploring the yard rather than join in the young ones games.
Abbie and Jock were feeling extra spicy this morning as I head into their kennel to get ready for our walk. The duo was bouncing around, practically leaping off the walls with excitement. After all these daycare days with us they really know what walk time is now. After finally settling down, I hooked them up and we head out for a walk with their little friend Merlin. These three were so keen to get out o the yard and onto the trail, however, once on the trail it was tough to move. Abbie and Jock love to sniff every single thing under their paws. Their noses got Merlin interested in everything as well, which resulted in a very slow trot along the path. We finally got moving about half way through the walk and the trio carried on by my side with their heads high in the air taking in the nice sunshine. In the yard today both Abbie and Jock were much more relaxed than the past couple of days. Despite their pal Pelley being in their group, they decided to do much more roaming and exploring today. Jock hung out in the gravel yard for the majority of group time. He had his nose to the ground for a large portion of the time, picking up on all the smells. Abbie followed the puppies around and found herself face to face with them at one point. Despite their efforts to get her playing, she chose to hang out by my side accepting pats and cuddles. She too spent a great majority of time sniffing and exploring the yard. The pair was happy to get back into their kennel for an afternoon nap after receiving a yummy lunch time cookie.
I am always smiling ear to ear when I get to hang out with miss Pelley. She is such a bundle of love and joy, it’s hard to resist giving her endless amounts of cuddles. In the yard today, Pelley was very curious about her three new group mates. Lola, Pearl, and Miko are all daycare friends and she was keen to get to know them. Lola was happy to sniff Pelley and carry on. Pearl was so curious of Pelley and did numerous laps around her sniffing which got Pelley very excited .The pair briefly danced around before Miko came in the picture and stole all of Pelleys attention. Miko is a split fire shih Tzu that is known for starting games and fun in the yard. He did not disappoint today, and made for a great new pal to Pelley. Miko loved dancing around Pelley, getting her attention and then darting off looking for a chase. Pelley really wanted to fully sniff Miko over before committing to playing games with him. Miko finally stood still for her and let her sniff him head to toe. As Miko was being such a good boy standing about letting her sniff, Pelley took advantage and pounced right on him looking for a boxing game. Miko wasn’t up to box, so he dodged out of her grasp and bolted off with his head peaking over his shoulder looking at her. Of course Pelley motored after him. The duo did a bunch of laps of the yard, which soon included Joe and Vega as well as Pearl and Merlin. The whole squad was full of beans, pouncing and dancing. After a bunch of games Pelley ran over to the pool looking for some water. She was disappointed to see it dry. I ran over to the hose to get it as fast as possible so that she could go for a swim before her outdoor time was up. AS it was filling up she tried her hardest to submerge herself in the shallow water. She got her muzzle far enough under to keep herself content until it filled up more. She head back into the yard for some more exploring and games until the pool was full to the rim. When she came back she lay all the way down and drenched herself. Pelley is such a water baby, watching her swim around never gets old. After a good towel off, Pelley went back to her kennel where she enjoyed and afternoon snooze. Pelley was pretty excited for it to be extra attention time. She was practically vibrating in her kennel ready to get out. We headed up front so we could go outside. Pelley went charging into the room looked around and went bouncing around visiting everyone. I grabbed a handful of treats and we headed out the door. I gave some treats a toss and Pelley went running to find them in the grass. I tossed a few more and she went off to find those as well. After a little while she took a break from finding the treats to go and do some exploring. With that done, Pelley decided to give the grass another once over and found a couple more treats. I leashed her back up and we did a little more exploring on leash before we headed inside.
Lola and Pearl were very keen to get in the back this morning. As usual, Pearl zipped down the hall with her whole bum wiggling side to side. Lola followed with her nose in the air, much more excited to see the humans than the other dogs unlike her sister. After Lola got some good cuddles in the hall she head into her kennel where she quickly found a comfy spot on the cot and snoozed until it was time for her walk. Pearl and Miko instantly began wrestling around in their kennel before it was time for their walk. In the yard Miko head out the door right by Pearls side. He was giving her ear kisses and then brushing his whole body against her side asking for her to play. Pearl turned her nose up to him at first, I had a good chuckle at her playing hard to get. She went off on her own, miss independent did a full circle around the yard with her nose to the ground picking up on all the smells that have happened since she was last her. After her intensive investigating, Pearl met up with Miko. The duo got to their wrestling, which was soon interrupted by miss Pelley. Pearl was fascinated by Pelley and ran around her sniffing as fast as possible before the games began. As the trio began to motor around the yard, Joe the puppy slowly joined in. Joe really wasn’t sure what to think of Pearl and her cute little piggy noises. He slowly approached her before committing to playing. After Pearl showed Joe she was nothing to be afraid of the pair sauntered off dancing around. Meanwhile, Lola was relaxing in the gravel yard basking in the sun as usual. After some convincing, Lola followed me into the grassy yard where she sat by my side and accepted bundles of cuddles and kisses on my lap before heading indoors.
Merlin is such a sweet, handsome man. I could cuddle him and his soft soft coat all day long. Every time he is here to visit I make sure to give him bundles of slow pets, enjoying his shiny coat. Merlin was so excited to get going on his walk this morning with his two friends Abbie and Jock. This pair loves to sniff every single thing, which got Merlin very curious about all the smells along the path. We had a nice slow walk along the trail, allowing the trio to pick up on every smell before moseying on ahead. Merlin loves to walk right by side. He tends to look up at me smiling, checking to see if I’m ok. As he head back into his kennel he was happy to take a carrot from me and munch on that. When it came to his first outing, Merlin went zipping down the hall and out the door without looking back. He instantly made his way into the grassy yard where he wandered around with his nose to the ground. Merlin spotted his group mates running around and he decided to briefly join in. Merlin did a great job keeping up to the games and had a giant smile on his face the entire time. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted me petting and cuddling one of his group mates Bea. He couldn’t resist leaving the fun and games to nuzzle in to me. He pushed his head under my arm between Bea and myself. He wasn’t afraid to beg for all the attention. Merlin was so excited to get some great pets and cuddles. After a while of one on one attention, I diverted mine back to Bea. Merlin stood their barking at me as if I were crazy to stop cuddling him. I then put the camera down and used one hand on each dog to keep everyone happy. After Merlin was content with his pats and cuddles he made his way over to the pool where he saw his friends hanging out. He briefly hopped, however he was quick to regret his decision. He leapt out and bolted in to the grassy yard, far form the pool. He slowly made his way back, watching the pool very closely as if it may attack him. He then hung out around the perimeter while his pals splashed around.
