Groups

Hudson and Rex met up with each other about two seconds after they got out the door. They were wagging their tails like crazy and it looked the fun was about to start. Rex and Hudson were then distracted from each other when Hudson was stopped by Kodi who wanted to say hi. Rex decided to do a little exploring while he was distracted. Hudson ended up running off with Kodi and they did a little exploring together. After checking on Birdie, who was standing on a rock, Hudson left Kodi to do his own exploring. Rex and Hudson did a little more exploring around the yard until finally they met up once more. They shared a look and after that it was wrestle mania. They were having so much fun and they were highly entertaining to watch. Rex and Hudson didn’t limit themselves to just wrestling they perfectly happy to go ripping around the yard as well, but it always quickly turned back into wrestling.

Birdie started her morning off with a nice walk. Next it was time for her extra attention. Birdie was a little confused at first about why I was grabbing her, but she quickly clued in and went racing off down the hall ready to have some fun. We made it to the front room where Birdie found herself a toy that she quickly snatched up. She then spotted a ball which she also snatched up while still keeping the toy in her mouth. I eventually convinced her to leave one behind, it was the toy, and then we made our way outside to play some fetch. I think I threw the ball once, after that Birdie was pretty content to just bounce around shaking her head and pouncing on the Frisbee that was out there. Birdie would then run over to me, stare, play bow, then go bouncing off once more. When it was time to go inside at the end she found the toy from before and tried to sneak both toys into her kennel. Not too long after all this fun it was time for group. Birdie went racing out the door and headed off to see what was going on in the yard. She made her way over to the one of the big rocks and spent some time checking it over. It wasn’t long before she was on the rock and getting checked over herself. Done with the rock Birdie headed over to see what Kenzie and Kodi were up to by the picnic table. When they moved on she hopped up on the table. While she was up there Max and Kodi went racing past. Birdie quickly ditched the table and went to steal Kodi away from Max. She was quickly successful and then proceeded to have a blast wrestling and running around with Kodi.

Kenzie and Kodi were both pretty happy to be making their way outside for group time. Once they got out there Kodi and Kenzie split up to check out the yard. It wasn’t long before Kodi abandoned his exploring to go and see what Hudson was up to. Shortly after that they took off running around the yard. Kenzie seemed content to continue exploring around the yard. Kodi took a break from running to do a little more exploring. Soon he ended up over by Birdie to see what she was up to on the rock. After a little more exploring around the yard Kodi met up with Max. It took about a second before the two of them were bouncing around and wrestling. Kenzie, who had made her way to the main yard, went over to see what her brother was up to and almost got smushed. I think Kodi felt a little guilty so he went over to see if she was alright and do a little exploring with her. The two of them were then approached by Birdie. She said a quickly hello then hopped up on the picnic table. Kodi now satisfied his sister was okay went back to running around and wrestling with Max. It wasn’t long before Birdie went running to join them and actually stole Kodi away from Max. Kodi didn’t seem to mind and soon he was having a blast wrestling with Birdie. Kenzie decided to stay out of the way and came to spend some time with me. She was more than happy to monopolize my attention and get all the pets. Kenzie then climbed half way up the picnic table so she could have a better vantage point off all that was going on around her, as well as nice breeze on her face.

Teddy and Kizmet made their way out to the agility yard and immediately set about checking things out. It wasn’t long before something on the other side of the fence caught Teddy’s attention. He stood staring trying to figure out what was going on. It was some chairs being dropped off. Teddy didn’t step away from the fence till everything was done. Kizmet stood aways back watching his brother watching the commotion. When the other side of the fence lost his interest Teddy came trotting over for a quick pet from me then making his way over to Kizmet to see how he was doing. With Teddy gone Kizmet decided to make his way over to the fence and see what was going on. He didn’t find it overly interesting and so quickly headed back out to tour more of the yard. Once the two of them had seen all they wanted to see of the yard they decided to retreat to the shady section of the yard to spend some time together and just hang out.

Fez was pretty happy to be making his way outside for group time. He stuck himself to my side and we walked out to the agility yard to see what the rest of the group was up to. As we were walking Fez had to stop to see if the pool was full today, but since it was a little chilly out, it wasn’t. He meandered on back over to me for some more pets and attention. Bailey came wiggly over to give Fez and kiss and demand some pets from me. With my attention away from him Fez went wandering off to see more of the yard. He spent some time watching beyond the fence before deciding to have a little snack of grass. Once he was satisfied Fez made his way back over to me and plopped down at my feet to relax for a while.

Brodie and Cara are really enjoying their stay with us here at Tails & Trails. When I went to get them for their walk the pair lazily got off of their cots to come see me, then barked with joy as they got hooked up to their leashes. As they made their way down the hall they sniffed all their pals through the kennel doors, mentally telling them that they could play later. When we got outside their main focus as we walked through the yard was to sniff around in the dewy morning grass. When we got to the field Brodie shot off like a bullet as Cara took her time sniffing around the field. Throughout their walk, Brodie and Cara spent most of their time sniffing around and watching the dogs behind them. When they got back to their kennel they both jumped up on their cot and curled up for a nap. When it was time to go out for their group, Brodie and Cara ran to the door as fast as they could, eager to see all their pals again. After a quick hello to everyone Brodie took off along side Vega and the two went to play in the main yard. As Cara made her way around the yard sniffing, she decided to go sit and watch Brodie and Vega play. Before it was time to go back inside Cara joined in on the fun and chased her brother around the yard.

Abby and Dudley are having a fantastic time with all their pals here. When I went to get them for their walk, the pair spun around in circles when they say that I had their leashes in my hand. As they walked down the hall Abby pranced with joy, as Dudley barked hello to a few pals. While we made our way through the yards, Abby and Dudley had their noses to the ground to sniff out all the fresh morning scents. When we got to the field Abby couldn’t contain her excitement as she sprung around in the grass, hopping like a little bunny. Dudley was also quite happy to be out in the field, as soon as we got there, he had a quick roll around in the grass. As we made our way along the trail, the pair stuck by each other’s sides, not wanting to lose each other in the long grass. When we got back inside Abby and Dudley curled up on their cot together and had a short nap. When I went to get them for their extra attention the pair ran down the hall as fast as they could, excited to get to spend some time with me. When we got to the front Abby ran over to the big chair for some cuddles with me while Dudley looked through the toy bin. After cuddling with Abby, Dudley came over for some cuddles too before they did a few tricks for treats. After getting a few more cuddles and kisses I brought them back t their kennel and gave them each a treat for being so well behaved. When it was time to go out for their group Abby and Dudley ran out the door, like they were never going to get another chance to see their pals. After saying hello to everyone Abby and Dudley spent the majority of their group sniffing around. Before it was time to go back inside Abby and I sat on the picnic table for a quick cuddle while she watched her brother play with a few pals.

Buddy is really starting to warm up to me the longer he stays with us. When I went to get him for his walk he jumped out of his bed with his tail wagging as he saw that I had his leash in my hand. As we made our way down the hall, Buddy barked hello to a few pals, then made his way out the door. As we walked through the yard, Buddy stopped a few times to give everything a good sniff before he got to the field. When we got to the field, Buddy couldn’t have been any more excited. He let out a few woofs to some passing dogs but then got down to sniffing. For most of his walk he spent his time with his tail in the air and nose to the ground. When we got back inside, Buddy curled up in his bed and I wrapped him up in his nice warm blanket. When it was time to go out for his group, Buddy was a little hesitant at first, but as soon as he got out the door he said hello to all his pals and remembered how much he likes being outside. After spending some time sniffing around, Buddy ran around the yard, seeing if anyone wanted to play but them decided he would just sniff around some more. Before it was time to go back inside, Buddy came over to me to get a few treats.Buddy definitely loves his extra attention time. As soon as I went and grabbed him to come up front to hang out he was all wiggles. Buddy made his way around the room checking everything out. Once he was done that he made his way over to me so I could give him some bum rubs. Buddy then set out to do a little more exploring and see if he'd missed anything. Eventually he found the toybox and spent some time checking it out. Buddy left the toys and made his way back to me for some more bum rubs while his tail wagged as fast as it possibly could. We were then happy to just hang out for the rest of his time up front.

Lexie loves staying with us here at Tails & Trails. When I went to get her for her walk, she hesitantly got out of her bed, but ran to the kennel door as soon as she saw that I had her leash in my hand. As we made our way through the hall she looked at all her pals, and as she did he tail wagged as fast as it could. After we got outside Lexie spent her time sniffing as we walked through the yards, seeing if there was any toys she wanted to play with while she was out with her group later on, but sadly there wasn’t. When we got to the field Lexie shot off like a bullet as we made our way along the path. While we walked around Lexie spent most her time with her nose to the ground to sniff around, but she lifted it up to few the wind blowing in her ears a few times. After we got back inside Lexie crawled back in her bed to wait until it was time to go back outside. When it was time to go out for her group Lexie ran around the yard a few times before finding a rock to sniff around. After sniffing the rock Lexie spent most of her time sniffing around the yard, but before it was time to go back inside she came over for a treat and a few pets.Lexie was ready and waiting in her kennel when I came to collect her for her extra attention. First we went to the playroom, where Lexie was happy to trot around the room and sniff everything. There were some interesting toys laying around and she took her time to check them over, although nothing really caught her eye until I crouched down to take pictures. She came hurrying over to climb in my lap and check for treats. After that, we headed up to the front for more cuddles. Lexie sat in my lap and climbed all over me for a bit. Next we headed outside for a sniff. She wandered around the grass for a while, enjoying the sun for the rest of her extra attention.

Pelley is really enjoying her stay with us. When I went to get her for her walk she sprang out of bed as she saw that I had her leash in my had. As we made our way down the hall Pelley sniffed them all through their kennel doors and with a quick bark told them she be back soon. As we got to the field Pelley trotted along beside me as happy as can be to be out in the few morning sun. When we got back from her walk she curled up in her bed before it was time for her extra attention. When it got her for her extra attention, Pelley ran through the halls as fast as she could. As we got to the front she ran right to where the treat jar is and asked nicely for a treat, so I gave her some. As I made her sit for a few treats she woofed at me as if to say “I’m ready for my treat now.” After some treats, Pelley and I spent some time cuddling in the big chair before it was time for her to go back to her kennel. When it was time to go out for groups, Pelley ran outside to play around with all of her pals. After a quick sniff around, Pelley ran over to her pal Jag and the pair played around for most of their group. Before it was time to go back inside, Pelley came and sat with me for some cuddles and kisses.
