Jemma was so excited to be here for a fun filled daycare day. She started her morning off with a great walk, accompanied by two poodle friends GlendaLou and Gryphon. Her pals were very focused on marching forward, however she couldn’t contain her excitement, leading to endless games throughout the walk. She would entice her pals to play by nosing and nudging them as we trotted along. Whenever one of them would give in, Jemma would play bow then dash in a circle around me then motor back to her poodle friends. Jemma kept me very busy on our walk with her silly games. Jemma was even more excited to get out in the yard for playtime and meet up with her friends. She is such a sociable, lovely girl who thoroughly enjoys the company of any and every dog. After scurrying around from dog to dog saying her hellos she bee-lined it towards me. After leaping all over me, giving me cuddles and kisses, she settled down and enjoyed some pets and cuddles. While we were hanging out, Trooper the Airedale headed over to check us out. As Trooper was sniffing Jemma, Jemma got a little spicy and began dancing around. These two hit it off instantly and the games began. It wasn’t long before Nymeria joined in on the fun too. These three had a great time pawing at one another until their game turned into an action packed wrestling and boxing match.

Nymeria is hilarious. She reminds me SO much of my dog, Kyah. A lot of her young actions are so similar to how Kyah was when she was a baby. Hibou does a great job of passing on the crazy, silly, gene. Nymeria was shocked when she got into the yard and spotted 4 other huskies. Her instinct told her to lie down and roll on her back to let them know they were in charge. Unfortunately, the spot that Nym chose to lay down in was a big puddle! I got a chuckle watching her rolling around flailing her arms as her pack mates sniffed her head to toe. She slowly stood up and sniffed Kyah right in the face, Kyah let her know she was in charge, however this just got Nymeria even more excited. Magic and Rosie darted after Nym as she bolted across the yard with her bum tucked. Nym had a sudden case of the zoomies and zipped around the yard over and over again until she found herself on her back with her paws in the air once again. Finally, Kyah protected her from her silly friends and lead her to the tunnel. All five of the huskies then began playing one of their usual funny tunnel games. Nym was thrilled to be in on the action and zoomed in and out of the tunnel with them, even leaping on top of it and over it. After endless amounts of running and playing she head to where the pool is usually located looking to cool off. Since it is wet and rainy out we didn’t set up the pool today, but this didn’t stop her from getting a little wet. She hoped in the upside down pool and lay down in the inch of rainwater where she could just fit. I had a good laugh at her silly behavior. The moment I let her back into her kennel she put her paw in her water dish and flipped it, while staring me in the eyes with a big smile on her face. She was practically laughing at me as I mopped up her mess. I then gave her a hanging bucket so that she couldn’t go kennel swimming again.

Teddy F. had a great Thursday. He loves coming in for daycare since he knows our routine very well and enjoys every moment spent here. He was intrigued by his group today, which consisted of mainly huskies. They were playing and wrestling for quite some time, which offered Teddy a great opportunity to referred the match and heard them to the location of his desire. I could imagine Teddy competing in a herding competition since he is so good at moving dogs in a desired direction. After the big husky wrestling match broke up, Teddy found Jemma who was quick to ask Teddy to play. Teddy wasn’t too sure about playing with Jemma, however he gave in anyway. They had a brief boxing match before Teddy zoomed off looking for a chase. Jemma was happy to follow on his tail. Her attention was quickly diverted by another dog, which gave Teddy the opportunity to sniff and explore the yard. After he checked out his surroundings he head back to the agility tunnel where games were going on and he began herding once again with a giant smile on his face.

Maya and Rocky had a pretty calm and relaxed day. This wet, warm, weather, and definitely slows all of us down. These two were happy to enjoy a walk in the afternoon rather than this morning. This way they avoided the showers and got some more activity later on in the day. In the yard both Maya and Rocky spent the majority of the time hanging out in the gravel yard. Rocky wandered with me for a little while as I carried Amber, a very small Chihuahua around with me. Rocky seemed to be very fascinated by her, so he hung out by my feet until I put her down. After my hands were free he was very happy to receive some good scratches behind the ears and pets down his side. Maya wasn’t too interested in playing today, despite the efforts from the puppies to get her moving. Vega danced all around her begging her to chase her but Maya was much happier hanging out on her own. Later on Maya did some sniffing of the yard and then made her way to Rocky where she sat and kept him company for the remainder of group time.

Abby, Jock and I had a great walk this morning. The wet grass didn’t hold them back from scurrying through the long grass and plants along side the trail. Jock is such an adventurous boy, dashing through the greenery with his tail wagging and head held high. Abby tends to follow along behind him, somewhat reluctantly, but also refuses to walk on the path without him. She really looks up to Jock and will do whatever he does on the walk. In the yard today both Abby and Jock were pleased to be accompanied by the young puppies once again. Vega charmed her way into Jocks heart for the second day in a row. She danced all around him and kissed him all over which got Jock excited and made him dance in circles. Abby spotted the commotion in the grassy yard she too motored over to check out what Vega was up to. These three had a brief dance party before Finnlay joined in on the fun. This gang dashed around the yard a couple of times before Abby split off the sniff, which lead Jock to follow. These two then spent the remainder of group time sniffing and exploring the yard until it was time to head inside.

Finlay and Olive had a stellar second day with us. Despite the wet, and muggy weather, these two were beaming with happy vibes. The moment I opened their kennel for group time they came bolting out and began leaping all over me looking for pets and cuddles. Finlay leapt so high that I caught him midway in the air! Olive froze in her tracks once she noticed her brother was in my arms and she wasn’t. As we head outside I put Finlay down and picked Olive up. She immediately lay back in my arms like a baby, and stretched her legs out. I gave her a great belly rub and she offered me some nice slurps on the face in return. As I put her down her brother began to sniff her and kiss her all over. Finlay loves to kiss anyone and anything. He kisses my legs, the other dogs, the rocks, his sister and even his bed! What a goof. To no ones surprise, Finlay and Olive were so excited to head into the grass yard where they instantly began zooming around with one another. Their fast paced action drew all the attention to them, which resulted in some other dogs joining in. Vega and Jock were very happy to get in on their shenanigans. It didn’t take long for Olive to exit from the race match and swap positions with Lola the puppy. Finlay was thrilled to have three dogs chasing him around, while Olive was even happier to have my attention devoted to her.

It isn’t a surprise that Lola had another very busy day. I was pleasantly greeted by the shrieking of Joe, Vega, and she, as I was the one to bring them breakfast. After getting them each in a separate area I was very pleased to see Lola sit and stare at me waiting for me to put the dish on the ground. Her calm sit lasted until the second the bowl hit the ground, which is when she quickly transformed into a tornado. She zoomed around getting each kibble after dumping the dish upside down. In the yard today Lola was very occupied by all the wet grass. She munched on some before I gave her a firm telling off. She was a little surprised to here my “no” voice. She bounced off with her somewhat sister Vega on her heels and they began their usual antics under the picnic table. After these monkeys spotted Finnlay and Olive playing in the grassy yard they both bee-lined it towards them and joined in on a fast paced chase.

Iris and Amber are so adorable! I was so excited to see Iris for the first time in a while yesterday. I was even more thrilled to meet the newest addition to the family; Amber. Today Iris was overwhelmed with joy when I head into their kennel and sat down by their side. Iris wiggled her way over me then scurried herself up onto my lap and made her way to my face where she smothered me with kisses. Her outgoing personality and positive energy really helped Amber come out of her shell with me. Amber wandered off her bed and slowly approached me. I let her take her time to get to know me, by allowing to slowly sniff me and wander around me curiously. After she did a bunch of sniffing I offered her my hand, which she pushed her tiny head against. I gave her some soft pets and it wasn’t long before she accompanied Iris on my lap. I carried both the girls outside for their group outing, one in each arm, all snuggled up against me. In the yard Iris followed me around, leaping up on my leg asking to be lifted and cuddled. Amber trotted along behind us, following Iris wherever she went. Amber became much more comfortable today than she was yesterday. Half way through outdoor time, Amber wandered off on her own to sniff and explore. I was very happy to see her have a boost in confidence. Iris was content sitting in my arms watching her sister wander from a far. It wasn’t long before Iris asked to be let down and she zoomed to the opposite side of the yard to check up on Amber. Next these lovely girls explored the picnic table, which quickly became a great spot to hang out and supervise their other playmates. Iris enjoyed sitting on the table while Amber got comfortable on the bench. They remained seated here until it was time to head back indoors.

Teddy S. is such a kind and gentle boy. He has been having a wonderful time with us, slowly coming out of his shell more and more every day. Today he wasn’t too keen on the rain first thing in the morning, luckily it eased up by walks and there was no rain during group time either. The rain brought a lot of new scents to the yard, which occupied Teddy for the majority of his outdoor time. He wandered around the yard with his nose in the grass, picking up on all the interesting scents left behind. After he was content with his discoveries, Teddy noticed me kneeling down in the grass. He was quick to make his way towards me, and nuzzle himself against my side. We had a great cuddle session with two of his group mates Iris, and Amber, two tiny Chihuahuas. Teddy liked the company of these small girls. After he got his pets, scratches, and cuddles, he followed Iris and Amber around the gravel yard while sniffing them. When we head indoors Teddy was very pleased to see a cookie sitting in his kennel waiting for him. He snatched it off the ground and hopped onto his bed where he lay down and enjoyed his afternoon snack.

Tsvao and Cai were so excited when they came in for daycare this morning. When I went back to say hello to them in their kennel they had so much energy and were bouncing around with each other until I let them outside for their group. Cai ran down the hall and jumped up to give me a big hug and kisses while Tsavo was behind him and waited until he jumped back down to give me some kisses of her own. Outside on the yard Cai was being extra vocal today. He loved to bark and was howling as he was running all around the yard at first to say hi to some of the dogs. Tsavo was following behind Cai the entire time and saying hi to the dogs right after he was done. She went up to them slowly and gave them each a little sniff as she passed by. They both wandered around the gravel yard at first and started to sniff around the ground before making their way into the grass yard where all of the other dogs followed us. They were both in very playful moods and started to run around the yard together to see what other dogs would join in and play with them. As they were running and they saw no dogs join in they took it into their own hands and ran over to some of their friends and began to jump up on them to see if they were interested. At first some of the dogs jumped around with them then stopped and continued on to explore. Cai would start to follow them around the yard and keep trying while Tsavo didn’t bother to follow them and ran around on her own instead. I called Tsavo over to me whenever she was wandering by herself and she came running over with a smile as she put her head between my legs to get some cuddles. She gave me so many kisses and loved the attention she was getting outside. Cai got jealous whenever he saw me petting Tsavo and stopped what he was doing immediately to run over and try and get some love as well. When I started to pet Cai he got so hyper that he began to jump around me. I told him to sit and he sat right away as I began to pet him. He stuck his tongue right out of his mouth and that’s how I knew he was enjoying it. After that they took off and started to play with the others, this time the other dogs in their group were more playful and ran around with them more.

Issy and Mocha spent the day in the kitchen like they usually do. They love all the company they get when they are in there and got to spend all of lunch with me. It was quite the rainy day outside today so both Issy and Mocha weren’t too big of fans of going outside on the yard; they would much rather stay inside and cuddle up together on their cots. As I let them outside with their group Mocha was hesitant about walking out on to the yard since she would get wet. She stayed underneath the overhang of the roof in the yard for a while until she decided to follow in Issy’s footsteps and make her way out anyways to explore. Issy wasn’t too big of a fan of the rain but she loves to explore so it wasn’t going to stop her today. She wandered around the gravel yard right as she got outside as some of the dogs ran up to her to sniff her and say hello. As she was wondering around and sniffing the grass, Mocha soon joined her and they began to walk around together. Mocha didn’t go too far and stayed close to the building to try and stay as dry as possible but Issy kept on walking further and further until she reached the grass yard. None of the other dogs were in their as she ran in on her own to begin exploring but she likes to stick by herself when she’s outside anyway. Issy trotted around the grass and ran from one spot to the other to smell whatever she could find while Mocha ran back to the door to get some cover. Issy walked around for a bit more then went back to join Mocha. When I went back to see them Issy walked over to me to give me some cuddles as Mocha waited for me to come to her to pet her as well.

Kimi spent her day in the staff room with two other dogs and had a very relaxing day with them. Whenever I walked by the room they were all fast asleep on their beds together, which was so cute. This morning when I took her for a walk she seemed like she'd rather stay right there relaxing, but once I put the leash on her she jumped right up off of her bed and started to jump at the door. She was so much more excited when we made it outside and on the trail. Her walk went very well since she is always such a good walker. She took her time as she trotted along the path and sniffed along the bushes that passed by us. She walked with another dog who is still very young and wanted to play. She entire time she was trying to get Kimi to play with her as she bounced around her in circles. Kimi wasn’t interested though since walking is serious business. When Kimi went outside for her group she seemed to be super relaxed as she was outside in the yard, she made her way out the door behind everyone else and began to explore right away. She seemed to be intrigued by Tsavo who she kept on following around the yard to try and sniff. After she was done exploring around the gravel yard she walked over to the beginning of the grass yard and stood as she watched everyone run around and play. She seemed like she wanted to join in since Kimi loves to play sometimes but she never ended up coming over. Instead she watched for a little while before wandering back over to the door to wait to go inside.

Spencer and Percy came in for daycare this morning and they are always such pleasures to have here. Percy was being extra vocal today along with Cai out in the yard and indoors while they were in their kennel. Whenever Cai would bark Percy would bark as well right after he did. It was as if they were playing a game to see who would bark louder which kept them super entertained whenever they were inside. When Percy and Spencer went outside to join their group they took off right away to wander around the yard together. Percy is always so determined to sniff around and explore on his own whenever he’s outside while Spencer likes to be a little more social at first and say hi to some of the other dogs. Spencer ran around outside of the door right away as he ran up to each of the dogs to give them a sniff and greet them all. Some of the dogs began to get excited as well as they started to follow him further into the yard, except Spencer wasn’t ready to play just yet and instead of turning around to start playing with them he stuck on his own to explore. He sniffed along the fence where Percy was then slowly went in separate directions to continue on exploring. Spencer ran into the grass yard to do a lap around the agility tunnel while his nose was stuck to the ground to take in all of the scents he could smell. While Percy stayed in the gravel yard for a bit before walking over to join him. Spencer was a very popular dog today as all of the others tried to play with him while he was wandering around the grass. They all ran up and started to paw at his side which made him start to run around in circles as he was getting excited. Percy saw Spencer begin to play and stopped what he was doing to trot over and join in. Although, Percy doesn’t like to play as much as he likes to referee the playing. He ran around all of the dogs in circles and started to bark at them whenever a dog would begin to run away or get too rough. If a dog tried to play with Percy he would run off and do a lap around the yard before coming back to join in.

George and Titan are always so cute whenever they are in their kennel together. They were sleeping side by side on the same cot all cuddled up while George was fast asleep in the corner. Titan was sitting as close as he could get next to him and staring out into the hallway half asleep. As I let them outside for their group they jumped up right away as if they weren’t just sleeping at all, and when they got out into the agility yard they began to explore like they always do. George took off right away and made his way to the furthest part of the yard to sniff around. He stuck by himself as he sniffed along the fence and made his way to the outdoor kennels that seemed to intrigue him. Titan started to sniff around by the door at first and walked along the rocks as he dug his nose through them to try and see what he could find underneath. After he was done by the door he slowly made his way across the yard while he was still sniffing the ground to go and join George. They were both wandering around the outdoor kennels together as they were sniffing all of the plants that were growing around it. When they were done exploring both George and Titan ran over to come and se me as I was in the middle of the yard. They ran into my arms to get some cuddles as George gave me lots and lots of kisses. Titan ran off again and went to go see the other dogs and that’s when some of the others began to get playful with them. They would run over to George and Titan and immediately George started to play back with one of the dogs. They took turns jumping up on each other until the other one began to roll around on the ground as George wrestled on top of him. When George had enough and was out of breathe from playing he walked over to a big puddle and started to splash around in it. Meanwhile, Titan started to play tag with some of the others and was running as fast as he could. He was in the lead of all the dogs and they chased him from one side of the yard to the other, taking short breaks every now and then.

Egan had a great day out in the yard today with all of his friends, in fact, he even made a new one that he couldn't stop playing with the entire time he was outside. That friend is Luna, who came in this morning for boarding and all of the other dogs in her group rushed to greet her as soon as she went out into the yard with them. Luna has a very energetic personality which I found out when I was walking her this morning. As soon as we walked onto the trail this girl began to do some off-trail exploring and tried to run around in the tall grass to sniff and roll around. The other dogs she was walking with weren't as playful as her so whenever she ran back to them and started to bounce around and they didn't react she calmed down a bit and began to walk with them side by side. During groups outside Egan noticed Luna as soon as they stepped foot out the door. He chased her all the way into the agility yard where he began to sniff her and say hi. Luna was a little nervous at first as all the dogs came up to her at once but as soon as they all left she and started to get more and more comfortable. Egan stayed by her though and it didn't take long for these two to begin playing. He chased her all around the yard and boy can she ever run! Egan is a fast runner himself and he even had a hard time keeping up with this girl, but it didn't stop him from trying. He always caught up to her eventually and Egan would always start to jump up on her to wrestle around on the ground as some of the other dogs would join in. Luna would always try to escape and when she did they would always chase her around the yard again to continue their game of tag. Once all of the dogs began to get tired they calmed down and stopped running around as much. Egan was still playful and ran up to some of the other dogs to say hi while Luna needed to take a break and took a chance to wander around the yard to sniff around and explore. I walked over to her to say hi as she sat down for me immediately, she had her tongue hanging right out of her mouth and she looked so happy to be getting some cuddles.

Louis and Keeva are pals from back home and are always happy to see each other here when they come in for boarding. Even though Louis doesn't play just quite as much as Keeva she always tries to get him in the mood anyway by prancing around him playfully. When they first went outside with their group this morning Keeva was super energetic and ready to play as soon as she went out into the yard, while Louis was asleep taking a nap on his bed when I went to let him out of his kennel. As soon as I opened the door he woke up and jumped up to join his friends. When he went outside he trotted into the agility yard and set off to explore right away. Louis wandered around the yard as he splashed through some of the big puddles that were on the ground. At first he seemed like he didn't want to go outside since it was raining a bit but once he got out there he seemed to not mind it so much. Keeva didn't mind the rain at all either. In fact, I'm not even sure she knew it was raining, since this girl began to run around right away as if it was a beautiful sunny day. When she saw some of the other dogs playing she ran right over and jumped up on to Egan to try and join in. When she noticed their was a new dog in the yard that got her excited as well and she went straight to her to give her a sniff and say hello before continuing to play. She chased after Egan and Luna all around the yard as they began their game of tag. Keeva kept stop running around to go and explore every now and then. She would run over to the fence and sniff around the grass then once she was done run over and jump back in to join in with them. When Louis was done exploring he walked over to where all of the dogs were hanging out in the middle of the yard. Louis seemed to be very interested in George and kept on following him around everywhere. I walked over to Louis to give him some cuddles and he seemed so happy about it he rested his head against me as I scratched behind his ears which he loved as he began to shake his leg with enjoyment. Keeva ran over when I was with Louis to say hello and began to try and get him to follow her but Louis didn't seem so interested so instead Keeva decided to join in for a cuddle. After Louis was finished getting some love he decided to walk over to the door to relax by himself before going back inside to lay down. Keeva continued to play as she splashed through the puddles and got a little muddy. During Louis extra attention this morning he came up to the front reception with me to get lots and lots of love. It was right after his walk so he was a little tired and just wanted to relax. He walked over to me as I was sitting on a chair and put his face right up to mine as I began to pet him and he gave me kisses. He really enjoys whenever I itch behind his ears and never seems to want me to stop. Eventually he wanted to go and explore the room though so he turned around and began to sniff along the walls to smell anything that interests him, he took his time as he sniffed just about everything that was in sight. When he was finished exploring he came back over to me and sat for me as I brushed him, he loves to be brushed but can never sit still for too long so he kept getting up to walk around the room quickly before coming back to me to continue. Keeva went out this afternoon for her extra walk with Kinsey. The rain had stopped at this point but Keeva made sure to brush her face through all of the long, wet grass!
