Cats
Ferdinand and Archie were both curled up in a quiet space when I went to go see them this afternoon. Ferdinand has taken possession of the house in the cat tree, and can often be found snoozing away in the cubby. Archie on the other hand is a little more sneaky in his hiding place and found his crate door open on the floor and snuck away for some peace a quiet. Ferdinand was the first to come over and say hello to me following me around the room rubbing against my legs. I gave him a few pets before sitting on the floor. He continued to wander around and say hi to his new friends Han Solo and Boo. I couldn't seem to convince Archie to come out, that is until I pulled out a bag of treats. As soon as i shook the bag of treats he came crawling out of the crate with a big stretch searching for a treat. We all shared some treats between Ferdinand, Archie, Han Solo and Boo. Ferdinand is definitely the most food motivated chasing the treats across the floor. Archie was much more content getting them handed to him. After a few treats to each of them Ferdinand retreated back to the cat tree. I went and got their dinner ready and let them all eat in peace.
Extra Attention
George, Titan and I got to spend some extra time together this morning in the playroom where there were lots of cool things for them to see. George was very interested in all the strange scents surrounding the room so he went to explore. Titan was also interested in the new smells, but he wanted to cuddle more so he came over to see me. Titan rubbed his head against my leg as I rubbed behind his ears and then his belly when he sat down. George noticed his brother getting the attention and decided he wanted some too so he galloped over. I gave him some cuddles as well but it didn’t last long since there was so much more to explore. This time Titan decided he wanted to join his brother so off they went running around the room. George found something that really piqued his interest so he decided to investigate further. Titan was a little confused so instead came over to see me for some more cuddles as we watched his brother. George eventually came running over in excitement with a bone in his mouth and pranced around Titan and I, showing off what he had found. They both had a lot of fun during extra attention with me and loved the cuddles and adventures they got to have.

Max had a great first day back with us! He went on a fun-filled walk this morning with his new gal-pal Jemma and these two got along great! Jemma really wanted Max to run around with her in the long grass on their walk, but Max was taking his walk very seriously and wanted to sniff everything he could while we were on the trail. Later in the morning we went out for his first group outing and Max couldn’t have been more happy with his playmates. He first played with Duke, one of our rescues that has been staying with us. Duke made Max chase him all around the yard, and Max caught up to him and leaped right over Duke. There were also 5 huskies in this group with him and once they all started a big game of chase, Max stood by and barked at them the first couple laps they took, but then he joined in and was running right alongside Kyah and Magic! Not long after that he was wrestling around with Magic and Kyah as well! Max was really pooped after running around for so long that when he walked by him, I grabbed him and hugged him while I scratched his back. Not long into this massage, he laid down on the ground, very content with all the attention he was getting.
Lola loves to spend as much time with her brothers as possible! Today Joe and Doug were both hanging out near the fence, sniffing at a bush. It’s also in the shade so its their favorite spot to lounge on a hot day. Today Lola got her brothers to go and explore the yard with her. They each followed each other around, sniffing the fence line and the picnic table. Afterwards, I grabbed Lola and Doug and brought them out to the grass yard where Jemma, Maya and Elo were playing. Lola joined right in, and noticed that Vega was there too so her and Vega started to wrestle around. Lola’s favorite trick is to pull on the tails of the other puppies. They don’t seem to mind, and it’s a bonus because it is so cute to watch them wrestle with each other. Lola and Vega played around for a long time before I saw her curl up in the grass and lay her head down. I could tell this was her telling me she was all done with playing for now. As soon as I opened the door and called them all in, she came zooming by my feet, right into her kennel to drink tons of water and then settle down for a nap after lunch!
Jemma had another great day at daycare! She got to go out with so many other puppies and she loved each and every one of them. At first she met up with the husky pups in the yard, who are now roughly 10 weeks. Vega, the little red one, took a liking to Jemma and followed her around the yard. Vega is quite a bit smaller than Jemma so she was careful not to trample her while she was running around the yard with Maya. Maya and Jemma also get along really well! Maya loves to run and so does Jemma so they made the perfect pair. Jemma was always the one getting chased by Maya; in through the tunnel, in between the yards, and around the big rocks in the yard. At one point, Jemma laid down to catch her breathe but it didn’t last long because Maya went into a play bow position right in front of Jemma and she couldn’t resist the invitation to wrestle around so she pounced right up and her and Maya were both standing on their hind legs and it looked like they were hugging. Best friends for life!
Mocha and Issy seemed to have switched roles in the yard today! Issy was the one who was staying away from the crowd. She lingered more towards the gravel yard and hungout with Sky. Mocha went trotting right for the agility yard today, and then stopped right in the middle of the yard. I found her standing there with her tail wagging while she watched all the other dogs. Tsavo came up to her and at first, Mocha was a little annoyed at Tsavo sniffing her, but then her tail started to wag and she spread her front legs and then gave Tsavo a little play bow and then Tsavo pranced around Mocha. Mocha looked delighted to be getting attention from the other dogs outside today! Spencer and Finnigan also came up to Mocha while she was there and gave her a playful hello! Issy eventually ventured into the yard as well, but had different interests than Mocha did. Issy made sure to sniff all the dogs, but also made sure that nobody sniffed her back. She is such a funny girl. After that she returned to her little hangout spot and waiting patiently there for Mocha to join her. Mocha spent the last 5 minutes of her outing with Issy. The rest of the time she was spending time with the other dogs, especially Tsavo.
Finnigan was obsessed with toys today! At the beginning of the group time, I picked up a pink rope toy and showed it to Spencer to see if he wanted to play with it. All of a sudden, Finn came leaping out of nowhere and grabbed the rope right out of my hand! It was so cute because he ran away quickly and then slowly returned and wanted to play tug of war. We each yanked at either side of the rope until he was just too strong for me and he took it away. He laid down in the grass and gnawed at it for a short time before something else captured his attention. He spotted Percy carrying around a small pink rubber ball. Finnigan decided that he had to have it. Finnigan followed Percy everywhere in the yard until he would drop the ball. He followed him in and out of the agility tunnel 3 times and 2 laps around the yard before he had the ball to himself. Once he got it, he wanted me to throw it for him. I threw it and then Percy got there first and took it from him again! Needless to say, Finnigan was very busy out in the yard today.
Percy spent a lot of time with Finnigan out in the yard today. Finnigan and him were both really interested in the toys out in the yard, and the small pink ball was Percy’s favorite today. It turns out that it is also Finn’s favorite! Percy started with the ball, and was carrying it around in his mouth for the longest time. He eventually dropped it to pick up a bone that was in the grass. Finnigan snatched up the ball right after Percy dropped it. I could tell that Percy regretted his decision because he instantly dropped the bone and chased Finnigan into the tunnel to get his ball back. Luckily Tsavo distracted Finnigan and Percy was able to move in and grab it back from him! He was sure not to drop it again; not even to let me throw it for him. Later on in the afternoon, once he got outside, he searched the agility yard until he found the ball again and kept it with him at all times once again. So cute.
Spencer had an awesome day today! He spent time with so many different dogs while he was outside. This morning on his walk, Abby and Titan joined him. He and Titan are really old friends and have met numerous times while Spencer was in for daycare, so it was nice to see them reunited! Titan stuck really close to Spencer for the whole walk, making sure to stay close behind him or right in front of him. They weren’t in the same group later on in the morning but Spencer got to spend time with his regular daycare crew. They were all really up beat today and playful with each other! Spencer and Tsavo were playing the entire time they were outside! Spencer would weave in and out of the agility yard and every time he returned, Tsavo would spot him right away and prance right over. Spencer put his paws right onto Tsavo’s back and then Tsavo stood up and tried to do the same to Spencer. It ended up them wrestling back and forth and then bursting off for a couple seconds to chase each other, and then they would re-do it again!
Cai was a huge snuggle bug as ususal today! He mainly spent time with his sister and Finnigan in the yard. Tsavo loves to surprise tackle her brother in the yard. The two of them know how to get each other playing and it is so funny to watch. Tsavo would tackle Cai and then Cai pounced back at her and then they would run away from each other for a few strides, and then run full tilt back at each other and then wretle again. The little play fights never last long, but they had so much fun together today. When Cai wasn’t playing with anyone today, he was sniffing around. Each time I called him name today, he came walking towards me, with his head down and his tail wagging, looking very excited! He knew that meant that he was going to get some cuddles. I knelt down and he immediately made himself comfy on my lap (the best he could fit) and stood there with his fluffy tail wagging back and forth as he enjoyed a lovely back and head massage. He also loved getting his ears rubbed and would lean into my hand on whichever side was getting massaged. He was hesitant to go inside when group time was done!

Abbie and Jock had lots of energy to explore around the yard this morning when I took them outside with their group. As they walked out the door they began to walk over to see some of the other dogs that decided to stroll out further into the yard. Abbie trotted behind them quickly to catch up and say hi. Jock waited a moment by the door then finally decided to go and join his sister as he started to walk over too. They sniffed around some of the dogs as they gave them both sniffs back, some of the other dogs seemed to be getting interested in them as they began to jump to them to play. Jock was enjoying it while Abbie ran off to the fence to start exploring. Jock started to prance around in circles with the other dogs for a little bit and then decided to go and see Abbie across the yard. They both took their time as they walked along the fence to sniff around the gravel. After they were done smelling around there they made their way back to the door one by one to take a look around some more. Some of the dogs came back to hang out as well as so they started to socialize again until it was time to go back inside.
Austin was such a cute little boy today. As I was opening the door to his kennel for him to go outside he immediately laid down and stretched out on his back for me to pet his tummy. He's always in the mood for a good tummy rub and loves the attention he gets from people. He loved it so much that he didn't even want to join the others outside he just wanted to stay right where he was to be pet instead. Once he did come outside though he didn't regret it. At first he started to socialize with all of the dogs that were around the door with him until they decided to make their way along the fence up to the grass yard to look around more. Austin ran in the yard and sniffed around the agility tunnel on his own as another dog came up behind him to join. Austin kept on sniffing the tunnel while the other dog watched and followed behind. He didn't spend too much walking around the grass before he bolted back to the gravel and made his way over to the picnic table to sit with me. He hopped up and sat beside me for me to give his head a little scratch before jumping back down.
Kimi was behaving like such an angel today while she was in for daycare. She spent her day in the staff room with two other dogs that all get along with her so well. When she first came in in the morning she had lots of energy and ran down the hall then began to bounce around until she went in the staff room to see her friends who seemed to be pretty excited to see her, too. It didn't take too long before her high energy level lowered though and she went from bouncing around to laying down and napping on some blankets in the staff room. When she went outside for her group she seemed to be quite calm as well. I guess she used all of her energy in the morning and wanted to keep it relaxed while she was outside. She spent her time on the yard by herself and only went over to see a couple of the dogs to say hello. When she first walked outside she made her way over to the grass yard right away to start wandering around and exploring. This girl kept sniffing around the grass then looking up whenever she noticed some of the dogs playing or making a lot of noise. She stood there and watched them but stayed to herself. When I was sitting on the picnic table she decided to walk over after she was done smelling the grass and came to see me for some cuddles before going back inside.
George and Titan are always such a pleasure to have stay with us here. They are always in the best of moods and look so happy to be here with their big doggie grins. When I was about to let them out of their kennels to join everyone in the yard I couldn't help but to go in their kennels with them first to say hi and pet them. They got so excited and started to jumped around me and give me lots of kisses. Each of them were fighting to stand in front of me so I would pet them more then the other one, but I had lots of cuddles to go around for both of them. When we went outside Titan took off to go explore around the grass right away with some of the dogs that were outside, while George stayed by the door at first and sniffed around the gravel. It wasn't until I called George over a few times that he finally decided to join Titan and the others further out in the yard. Titan sniffed around the agility tunnel then made his way over to the other dogs to hang around with them and explore. He liked the company of other dogs and kept on following them as they made their way along the fence to sniff through the tall grass. George stuck on his own and only walked up to a few dogs to say hello while he was outside. He got lots of company from me though. After he was done wandering around the grass yard I called him over to me as I was sitting on the picnic table to pet him. He began to wiggle his body until he had enough cuddles and decided to take off back over by the door where he spent the rest of his time hanging out.
Abby and Sophie are both such sweet girls. They sure love attention whenever they can get it and never turn down a good head scratch. While we all went outside with their group today they were both super eager to get out onto the grass to go exploring. Abby ran out ahead of all the others and was the first one in the yard to start sniffing around. She had her nose glued to the ground at one point. She seemed to be so intrigued by all the scents that we're going around the air. Meanwhile, Sophie took her time as she went over to the grass yard. She made her way along the fence as she smelled everything that passed by her. Sophie likes to keep her head up high in the air when she's not sniffing around on the ground. She always seems to look up at the sky or at me go to watch closely at what's going on. Once Abby was done exploring and Sophie made her way over to the same yard to join her, she walked right up to Abby and said hello by giving her a quick sniff. Abby smelled Sophie in return then the two parted ways when Abby saw some dogs that she wanted to play with. She scurried over to them as she began to paw at them and nudge them with her nose to get their attention. Once they realized she wanted to play they started to bounce around her as she joined in, and then started to jump up, drop into a play-bow and then run away. Abby did this until some of the other dogs started to chase after her. Meanwhile, Sophie was wandering around the yard and came over to me and I gave her some cuddles as she pushed her head between my legs to be pet. After that she wandered back over towards the door to hang around.
Teddy is such a playful and energetic boy while he's outside on the yard with all of his friends. Whenever he comes in for daycare you know that he can keep the whole group of dogs that he's outside with super entertained as he loves to go up and socialize with just about everyone. He wasted absolutely no time at all to go outside as he ran straight out the door and onto the yard to start running around the grass. As all of the dogs followed behind him into the yard he started to sniff around quickly. He began to run and stop randomly on certain parts of the grass to sniff it then continue to run around. When all of the dogs were doing some exploring of his own he walked over to then and tried to get their attention by jumping up on them and chatting to them. This sure got some of their attention as they ran back over to Teddy to do the same thing. This ended up in them starting a fan of tag as they ran around the yard, teddy caught up to all of the dogs he was chasing with those speedy legs. They didn't chase each other for long though as the others seemed to get tired and started to walk around again instead. But for Teddy he was just getting started and began to run around them in circles a bunch of times until I called him over to me and he decided to stop running. This boy stood there and stared at me until he began to run around again in circles, I tried to catch up to him but he kept on running away. He loved to play tag and I guess I was his next playing partner. When he was all worn out and tired he marched back over to the gravel yard and began to sniff around the fence on his own before heading back inside.
